Chapter 26: Déjà Vou

20:39, 10 March 2018

Your POV

The time went by faster than you can say "I love 2D."

It's been 2 months since Paula's worked here. But then she left and disappeared. That's great!

It's been 2 months, and the Gorillaz are gonna have a shooting.

I think the song's El Mañana? I dunno–but what I know is that it means 'the tomorrow' in Spanish or something like that.

"(Y/N)-chan! (Y/N)-chan! Ready for the shooting?" Noodle asked excitedly as she runs to me.

Her English has improved ever since I started to teach her. Well, she still tends to speak Japanese sometimes..

"Y-yup! Can't wait!" I nervously smile as I swallow my words.

"(Y/N)-chan...What's wrong?" Noodle asks.

"Noodle, it's just that...Murdoc's plan doesn't seem so safe." I answer. "A floating island on the sky? That kinda gives me déjà vou."

"Déjà....vou...sore wa nanidesu ka?" Noodle says as she tilts her head.

By the looks of her, I think she's asking what it means...

"Uhh..I feel like I've seen that floating island before, but I can't really remember." I explained.

"Ah. Ok." Noodle said as she nodded her head.

We then both walk outside Kong, just in time to see the Geep park in the front gate.

"IT'S TIME TA LEAVE!" Murdoc shouts.

"That's our cue." I chuckle. "Let's bounce."

Noodle and I go down the hill, followed by 2D and Russel.

"Yew slowpokes. We'll be a couple'o hours late for our shootin'." Murdoc sneers. "Thanks a lot."

He kicks the Geep in frustration.

"It's not our fault, idiot." I talk back. "Now step on it or we'll be a lot later."

"Idiot?! Yer da idiot 'ere!" Murdoc raised his voice. "I'll step on it alright. Rules don't matter, so I'll go hella fast!"

And right after he says it, the Geep nyooms to god-knows-where.

----------------------------------------------

"Doesn't da floatin' island gif yew some sorta déjà vou feelin'?" 2D asks in the middle of our trip.

"Kinda..Yeah.." I answer. "Funny, ain't it?"

"Yeh–"

"AW CRAP. WE GOT PULLED OVA." Murdoc screeches.

The car slows down to the side of the road, and we all tsk in disappointment.

"Damnit, Mudz." Russel mutters.

----------------------------------------------

"Finally, we're here." I sigh in relief. It took us a while to get ourselves off from the police.

"Ets yer fault we got pulled ova! Yew said tew step on et!" Murdoc complained.

"Yeah, and you said rules didn't matter. So your idiot beain decided to go faster than you can say a one-syllable word. Nice goin' Mudz." I said, rolling my eyes.

"Sh-shut up, (Y/N)! Yew gave me da idea!"

"And you obeyed it. You had the choice. I didn't even force you to go fast!"

"Shuuuuuut up shut up shut up–ARGH! Whatever! I'm gonna get ready da stuff. Russ! Help me!"

I watched as Murdoc stomped angrilyto the Geep, taking out the equipment with the help of Russel.

"What a loser, huh?" I snickered."Hai. Loser!" Noodle laughed as she stuck out her tongue to Murdoc.

Murdoc replied by making a V-sign with his pointer and middle finger, and sticking his tongue between it.

"MURDOC YOU ASSHOLE DON'T DO THAT TO HER!" I screamed, scarred by his action.

"Nani ga ittai?" Noodle said.

"N-noodle! Don't tell me you know wh-what that means!" I stuttered, embarrassed.

"I...uh...I....I will get ready the things." she muttered with a scared and scarred look on her face.

Shit! She knows! My innocent bean is ruined...

"God, who knew she'd know, eh?" said a voice behind me.

"Stu, did you teach her this?" I asked, turning my back to face him.

"Wh–Of course not!" he exclaimed defensively. "I-I wud neva!"

I raised my eyebrow, alerting him that I didn't believe what he said.

"Stuart Harold Pott." I frowned."Well, maybe–"

I nudged his arm.

"She's young! Don't poison her mind too soon!" I growled."Am sorreh, am sorreh! Ples forgive meh!" 2D wheezed.

"Ok, ok. But I blame you if she turnd dirty." I said."Well, ders Mudz." 2D chuckled."Oh."

"Enyweys, I'll be gettin' ready...." 2D trailed off as he walked away.

I ran, following him."I'll help." I offered."Oh, sure." he nodded.

----------------------------------------------

"Mudz, dew yew realleh tink dis is safe?" 2D asked for the millionth time.

"Fo' da last time! YES!" Murdoc groaned. "Now shut up, Faceache!"

2D cowered as Murdoc raised his voice. I patted my hand on his shoulder to relax the scared bean.

"I'm really getting the strong déjà vou vibes." I said as I stared at the island.

There were a couple of helicopters surrounding it.

"Aaaaand action!" Murdoc shouted.

I watched everything progress.

It looked ok.

This is fine.

This is alright.

This is–

THIS IS NOT OK.

I watched, terrified, as the helicopters began to shoot the island.

"WHAT THE HELL?! IS THIS PART OF THE SCRIPT?!" I screamed.

Murdoc ignored.

"MURDOC YOU ASSHOLE ANSWER ME!"

He still ignoref.

I saw the look on his face.Shocked, but with a hint of no emotion. He stood, probably paralysed by the situation.

"MURDOC YOU FUCKING TWAT DO SOMETHING OR I'LL KICK YOUR FUCKING ASS! THERE IS A FUCKING KID IN THAT ISLAND!" I cried.

As I looked back to the island, it began to fall.

I remember. The memory shot back into my head.

The dream.

It's on the ground.

I ran to the crash site, crying.

She's alive, I repeatedly told myself.

She's alive.

I flipped every rock I could see, hoping to see her.

She's alive.

I searched.

She's alive.

I went in the broken windmill.

She's alive.

I saw blood, a ripped cloth of her shirt. The body was nowhere. It's probably squished.

I kneeled down and cried.

I clutched the cloth and cursed this damn world.

We were so close, yet now so far. She's somewhere better now, I hope.

Her sweet voice rang in my ears. Something I'll miss hearing. Something I'll never forget.

Her smile was pictured in my head.

"Fuck you, Murdoc."

She's gone.
