Morning at School - Lingering Thoughts

Shinchan couldn't focus. Every word the teacher said was just background noise as his mind kept replaying the brief touch under the banyan tree. That accidental brush of hands, the warmth, the way Kazama's calm gaze had pinned him like he'd been caught... it was intoxicating.

Across the classroom, Kazama looked impossibly serene, flipping through his notes with that composed expression that drove Shinchan insane. Their eyes met again, just for a heartbeat, and Shinchan felt his stomach flip. He quickly looked away, cheeks burning.

Lunch Break - A Small Confession

This time, when Shinchan's friends started teasing, it was almost unbearable.

"Still thinking about the mysterious Kazama, huh?" one of them laughed.

Shinchan groaned, hiding his face in his hands. But then, Kazama walked over, not with friends this time, just himself.

"Stop teasing him," Kazama said, his voice calm but firm. Shinchan's friends went silent, the cafeteria buzzing dropping around them.

Shinchan felt something stir inside him - pride, awe, and that electric pull he couldn't name. Kazama didn't even have to smile; the way he stood there, composed and protective, said enough.

Shinchan's heart raced. He wanted to say thank you, but the words wouldn't come. Instead, he just muttered, "Thanks..."

Kazama's eyes softened slightly. That tiny look, just for him, made Shinchan's chest tighten.

After School - The First Confession Without Words

The sun was low, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink as Shinchan walked toward the banyan tree again. His heartbeat was loud in his ears. Kazama was already there, leaning casually against the trunk, as if he'd been waiting.

"Hey," Shinchan said, voice almost too quiet.

"Hey," Kazama replied. The silence stretched, heavy with unspoken words.

Shinchan swallowed hard. "I... I keep thinking about yesterday... that-" He paused, embarrassed, gesturing vaguely at the spot where their hands had brushed.

Kazama didn't interrupt. He just tilted his head, eyes calm, observing Shinchan like he already understood. "I think... I like that you notice."

Shinchan froze. Did he just...? Heat rushed through him. "I... I like that you're... you know, here," he stammered, trying to hide his blush.

Kazama's lips curved into the faintest smile. "I'm always here," he said softly.

A breeze rustled through the banyan leaves, carrying a whisper of intimacy. Shinchan's hand brushed against Kazama's again-this time deliberately, slowly-and Kazama didn't pull away. Instead, his fingers twitched slightly toward Shinchan's.

Shinchan felt the world narrow down to that touch, that look, that quiet moment that said everything neither dared to speak. His heart raced, pounding in his chest, and for the first time, he wanted to close the distance between them, to see if Kazama's calm demeanor would give way to... something more.

And for the first time, under that tree, Shinchan realized just how much he wanted Kazama... not just as a friend, but something more.
