accusation

a noun

the action or process of accusing someone.

Denise, a twenty one year old mother, accused me of abusing her child.

Sweet baby, Zoey.

I didn't have a clue what was going on between Lonzo and Denise but things obviously didn't look to be working out.Co-parenting had seemed to be the route they were taking but it was as if there were a lot of rough patches on that road.

Denise seemed like a nice girl but lately, I haven't seen her in the brightest light. Denise has probably been through a lot with Zo, good and bad.

But that doesn't give her any excuse to act like this.

To lie and put the blame on me for your mistake of almost dropping your child isn't cute.

"Maya, is this true?" Lonzo had looked a little hurt and walked over to me, taking a teary eyed Zoey from my hands.

"Of course its not true, do you really believe Denise's snake ass over Maya?" Melo counters, defending me. Lonzo looked as if he had a battle going on in his head. That was the mother of his child so of course it would be harder for him not to believe her. I had only known him for a couple of months now. They had history.

Melo was basically fuming, he had a temper. A short one.

Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath.

"No, I didn't drop Zoey. Melo and I where watching her the whole time you were gone. We were just sitting on the couch watching tv. Denise came out of no where, making a big ordeal about me holding her. Respecting her choice, I tried to give her Zoey. That's when Denise let go. If you don't believe me then that's fine, I'm just saying that I would never purposely abuse your child."

I rest my case.

"Maya caught the kid, you should be thanking her at this point Lonzo." Melo chimed in.

He always had my back, and that was something I really needed especially right now.

Zo began to rock Zoey in his arms and she began to giggle. She deserved the world.

"They're lying! Don't you see?" Denise allows tears to stream down her face. It was all an act.

"What do I have to lie for though? Why would I have to cover my ass? Ever since I met you, you have had it out for me. I did nothing to you, nothing! For you to lie about me dropping your daughter is beyond me! Why?" Denise has nothing else to say, she was speechless.

The door rattled again and Tina and Lavar came through the door to see us all standing around.

"What's going on here?" Lavar asks confused.

"Ask her lying ass." Melo points to Denise as she fidgets around from the eyes on her. She knew she was in the wrong.

"Problem, Denise?" Tina asked tilting her head, a hand on her hip.

"It don't even matter what the damn problem was. What you not bout' to do is sit up here and ruin this trip for my family especially my son, Lonzo. He has had to deal with yo problematic ass ever since the day you winked on that damn live video. I thought you was good for him but right now I think it's best if you leave. Pack your things and there's transportation outside waiting for you." Lavar shut down the argument real quick.

Denise cried all the way to the room. Zoey began to laugh and clap her hands.

She had no idea what was going on.

Everyone deserved happiness but when you're cruel to others for no reason, there was this one saying..

Karma's a bitch.

Zo gave Zoey to Tina and walked off in the same direction Denise went in. I heard faint yelling and quarrel.

Like I said, none if my business.

"How was the helicopter, Lavar." Kyle asked coming from the kitchen with Doritos in his hand.

So that's where he went off to.

That nigga disappeared as soon as the argument began.

"Oh yeah that shit was fun as hell! Right Tina?"

"Hell yeah!" Tina replies and we all laugh.

The mood was lifted almost instantly. Something about the Balls made me happy and I didn't think I could possibly live without it._

I tossed for the 50th time tonight. I couldn't fall asleep. The event kept occurring in my mind.

Zoey almost hitting the floor. The thought pained me. I had to take my mind off it.

I switch the bedroom light on and I dig into my suitcase.

2:56 am was the time on my phone when I headed to the bathroom to change into my black bikini.

The hot tub sounded like the best idea right now. I wanted to relax and have some time to breathe and getting into some steaming hot water was the best idea I could come up with.

After getting my suit on, I slowly crept into the hallway, it was quiet. I could hear loud snores coming from Gelo and Jaden's room.

Poor Jaden.

Wrapping the towel around my waist, I tip toe down the stairs and to the sliding patio door. I unlocked the door and was hit with the light smell of the ocean water.

I almost forgot that the house was right on the beach.

The hot tub was empty and the water was bubbling. I couldn't wait to get in. The water was basically calling my name.

After I sat my towel down on the pool chair, I put one leg into the hot water to test the temperature. It was hot, just how I liked it. I slowly submerged the rest of my body into the water.

I couldn't really see the beach from here. It was pitch black seeing as it was 3:00 in the morning. The pool was dimly lit up so you could still see where you were going if you were trying to get a swim in at night.

I let out a deep sigh.

It's crazy how I ended up here. It was only a couple of months ago when I was back in Flint minding my own business and living regularly. Now I was in Maui with my brother and the Ball family.

It was crazy to think about but my life changed drastically. I didn't ask for any of this but I wouldn't change it for the world.

The water moves irregularly.

"Shit this water is hot."

I open my eyes.

"What setting you got this on? Hell?" Melo asks me.

"Way to ruin my alone time." I groan look towards the sky.

"Don't be like that, shawty."

"Why are you up this late anyways?"

"I could ask you the same thing." He smiled to me.

I shook my head.

"Come on, you know you can tell me anything." Melo furthers.

"It's just. I can't stop thinking about earlier. Why would Denise do that?" I just had to let it off my chest. I needed an explanation.

"It's because she's jealous of you." Melo shrugs.

"Huh?"

"Denise knows you're better than her. You always shut down drama she starts. And you way more mature than she could ever be." Melo goes on.

I try to comprehend everything he's telling me.

"Maya, it's because you're not only special to me, you're special to all of us. My dad never talked about Denise like he talks about you. You fit right in with our family. You're the perfect girl, who wouldn't be jealous of you? You're everything a nigga could want and more."

I tried to disregard the butterfly feeling in my stomach.

I turn my head back over to the dark beach. A lot of things were being revealed tonight, I was a little blind sighted to some and known to many.

In my peripheral vision, Melo swam closer to me. His warm, wet hand made its way to my face.

He turned my head.

"I don't want you to worry about anything right now. Okay?" He sincerely demands. I nodded slowly accepting his good idea. Slowly but surely I began to relax.

"But you know what I do want?" His hand still rested on my face.

I shook my head no.

"I want you, shawty. I want you to be mine."

My heart was doing a little dance.

It was time.

I looked into his eyes and he looked back at me. His lips were plump and pink, asking me to kiss them.

My arms wrapped themselves around his neck and the space between us no longer existed.

His lips were soft and warm and I couldn't get enough. It felt as if the kiss was a drug and I was trying it for the first time.

Melo was the drug dealer.

Our lips moved together in sync like it wasn't our first time.

Melo lifted me from my thighs and pushed me against the wall of the hot tub to deepen the kiss.

A small moan escapes my lips.

The kiss quickly turned into a make out session.

As things were getting heated, a banging on the glass sliding door interrupted us. Our heads whip toward the door.

I had never imagined my first kiss to be so exhilarating. We were breathing heavily, my lips swollen from our previous action.

"If yaw don't get the hell in this house right now!"

It was Lavar.
