The judge ruled that Brenna would be required at least 2 days a week off no exceptions. That made it a little easier to get through the next few months. Both olivia and Brenna also liked spending time around Elliott and he came to the set a few times with them as well.

The day finally arrived  that they were getting ready to leave the next morning. Elliot came over with some pizza from the pizzeria a few blocks away and the three sat together in the living room and ate. Olivia smiled as she watched elliot play with Brenna. Olivia felt the only sad part about leaving Italy was leaving behind elliot and she knew Brenna would miss him too.

Later that night she got Brenna in to bed and came out and started cleaning up the suite a bit not wanting to leave a big mess for the housekeepers.

"She's a lot like you you know." Elliot said.

"Really?" She chuckled "and what makes you say that?"

"Well she definitely got your looks but she's also very sweet and cares about everyone. She must be a pretty good empath to to be so good at acting at her age." He teased.

She half smiled "I just wish she hadn't had so much trauma already. I thought by putting her up for adoption I was saving her from that but obviously it's just a Benson family curse no matter what." She sighed.

"No liv. Bad things just tend to happen to good people." He said touching her hip slightly and leaned in and kissed her. For a moment she returned the kiss but then pulled back. "Elliot we can't do this." Olivia stopped him.

"Why? I'm not married anymore and your not seeing anyone." He started.

"Maybe so but I also can't do a relationship thousands of miles apart." She said moving away from him slightly.

"Actually I was going to talk to you about that." He sighed "I got a job offer to work for the organized crime unit in New York and I was thinking I'd take it." He continued.

"You can't do that. Eli is still just a kid and he needs his dad." She said.

"He's young yes but I can still come visit. Plus if Kathy has her way, I'll hardly be able to see him anyway. " He sighed.

"She's fighting for full custody?" Olivia asked.

"Yeah. But I can handle it." He said.

"I don't want to be something that makes it harder for you El." She continued looking down at her hands.

He touched her hands softly. "Let that be my choice." He said and lifted her chin to look at him gently.

Olivia had tears welling in her eyes "maybe you should just take some time to think about it before you make any major choices ok?"

He smiled "I'll be back in New York in a month so let's plan to hang out then ok?"

She hesitated but nodded "ok" she figured after they left that he would change his mind.

Elliot left soon after and olivia had a glass of wine before going to bed herself.
