The boys couldn't stay long, in fact they didn't tell their management they were attending a funeral. Detective Seung lied and said he'd "take em out" but not mention where. Which allowed them to come. But that's a one time thing, I doubt they'll ever do that again.

Although, I'm a little overwhelmed with what detective Seung informed me about. 1 million dollars? Over one necklace I hardly ever wore? Like wow.

I can buy a new home with that money, then I won't feel like a burden anymore, Lena can live with me too. She won't have to go back to the states, I'll just convince her to enroll at a university here. I'll pay?

I can start on a fresh plate and hope to get my life back! Moreover, I won't have to worry about finding another job right away too

It's like my luck is spiraling again.

Sigh.

I can't worry about that now though, something horrifying just happened.

Eunice is ok now, she isn't crying but I'm sure she still feels the pain, I'm making her and her dad some beef stew. Maybe it'll help, after all it's the least I can do..since everything that has happened.

I poured some stew in a small bowl and grabbed some chopsticks, then placed everything on a tray and headed to her room.

Before I knocked, I heard sobbing, I stood still and listened closely.

Eunice was indeed sobbing, maybe she's taking this really hard, I mean who wouldn't but..something's telling me to barge in.

I have a bad feeling.

"Why me?" She cried.

I slowly peeped through the opening and looked in.

I gasped and dropped everything, making a huge crashing sound. "EUNICE STOP!" I screamed and barged in.

She had a knife at her neck ready to end her life, I struggled to get it out of her possession.

"NO!" She screeched, "LET ME DO IT!"

"EUNICE PLEASE!" I yelled and yanked the knife from her.

She cried and burried her face into a pillow.

Tears welled up at the corners of my eyes.

Her father soon ran inside, he didn't care what happened, he went to her and consoled.

General: Hwayoung..

She cried and cried.

General: Hwayoung..honey please..

I cried silently as I held the knife in my hands, she was ready to end her life. Did she even think twice about it?

Her dad gestured I should leave and I did so, I couldn't bare to watch another second.

Quickly as possible, I picked up the broken bowl and cleaned up the mess I had caused then left to give her some privacy.

It amazes me how it only took one person to do all of this. She's like a one man army, so indestructible.

It sickens me..

Sigh.

I need to hold up, things will get better, for Eunice and I.

With that in mind, I grabbed a few blankets and a pillow and snuggled into the couch. Guess I'll just sleep here tonight and pray tomorrow's a better day..

-Morning-

A smell of eggs woke me up, I rubbed my eyes and yawned.

"Mai~ Wake up." Eunice said.

I sat up and found her cooking happily, almost as if she didn't try to commit suicide last night.

She smiled, "Good morning, unnie."

Awkward..

But whatever, I smiled back, "Nice to see you actually smile."

She giggled and prepared my plate.

"My dads out today, so it's just you and me, oh and the hospital called." She informed.

"What'd they say?" I asked, walking into the kitchen and taking my seat.

"Lena is a lot better and she wants to go home."

"Oh.." I mumbled, "Well..I-"

"She can come here until you find a place, I really don't mind." She assured.

"Are you sure? I mean.."

"No, I insist. My mom taught me to always be kind no matter whats going on, it'll make all the difference and the world a better place."

She's trying too hard to hide her pain, but I don't judge her.

I smiled, "Thanks, I'll let Lena know.."

"Mhm...but in the meantime, you want to help me feed the animals?" She asked, "After we eat of course."

I giggled, "Of course, I'd love to."

She nods and we proceed to eat.

"The boys are practicing this whole week for their comeback." She mentioned.

"Oh yeah...Hoseok told me about it. I kinda feel bad.."

"Wae?"

"With all the shit going on, they still have to focus and do their job. Imagine how hard that must be? Especially for our boyfriends..."

She sighed and played with her food, "Well I told Jimin not to worry about me..."

I looked at her, "Are you ok?"

She meets my eyes, "I am, don't worry, sorry if I scared you last night..."

My hand went over hers, "Hey don't apologize? You can't blame yourself for what you feel, I mean its extremely hard but don't be too hard on yourself, ok?"

She nods and smiles, "Ok."

After a few more minutes, we headed to the barn and began to feed all the animals.

She assigned the easy ones to me, such as the chickens and the dogs and cats. Although I was looking forward to feeding her horses, they're so beautiful and shy. Cute too.

"Hey Mai, are you done?"

"Yep! The dogs are pleased." I giggled.

She nods and takes off her gloves, "You want to go for a ride?"

"What?"

She escorts her horse outside the barn, "A ride, on my horse?"

"Oh no." I rejected, "I can't ride one."

She laughed, "I know, I'm saying that I get on and you hop on the back."

"Ohh..." I walked toward her timidly, "If it isn't a problem?"

"Of course not! Hop on!" She said as she climbed up and got on her horse.

She made that look too easy.

I grabbed her hand and swooped on, "Whoa.." I held on to her, "We're pretty high off ground.."

She giggled, "You're afraid of heights?"

"Sorta.."

"Don't be, I got you." She assured and soon we were on our way to the top of a hill.

It felt peaceful and relaxing. Today was a beautiful today, unlike yesterday..

Eunice hummed to BTS Just One Day, meanwhile I held on to her because I was afraid I'd fall. It felt weird being on a horse, I never been on one before. I never knew how big they actually are.

We came to a stop, she looked out into the open and all you saw was Busan.

It looks beautiful from up here.

The ocean and everything...

"Do you ever just want to runaway?" She asked.

"Runaway?" I retaliated.

"Mhm. Just leave without notice?"

Why is she asking that? She couldn't possibly have those intentions in mind can she? Or does she?

"Uhm..why are you asking?" I asked.

"Sometimes I wonder what'd it feel like to just runaway without looking back. To live out there alone, with no one, only to worry about yourself, depend on nobody BUT yourself..to just disappear and have nothing to worry about.." she said looking out in the open.

"Eunice, where is this coming from?" I asked suddenly.

She lowered her eyes, "I just have a lot on my mind is all..."

I felt bad, I wasn't sure what to say, not the slightest clue. My poor little munchkin must be trying very hard to continue seeing life in a positive way.

I mean, it's hard on me too. We've both been attacked physically and emotionally, her mom just died..

It's like those things are just reasons for her to hate the world, but she shouldn't hate it. I don't...

"Do you think we'll ever stop her?" She asked, most likely regarding Shin-Mae.

"I hope so...who knows what else she could have in mind..."

"Whatever it is, I'm stopping it. I loathe her, she ruined everything and I HAVE to make sure she regrets it, even at her last breath."

"Eunice.."

"Don't try and stop me, I don't care if I end up going to jail for it. Or worse, end up in that institution," she mentioned, "I don't care! The moment my mom was burried 6ft under was the moment I vowed I'd get revenge. I'd get justice, with no mercy."

"But-"

She glared at me, "You can go on and on to try and convince me otherwise, but it won't work. I won't listen, Lee Shin-Mae is going down."

Her cold expression really scared me, I can tell that no matter what I tell her or how much I try to convince her, Eunice is going to kill Shin-Mae if she's given the opportunity. Which implies that Eunice is not the same cute innocent farm girl anymore..

She looked away and took a deep breath, "We should probably go back now..."

I nod, "Y-yeah.."

Eunice turned her horse around and we went back to the farm in full speed. I held on to her tightly, not sure where this is coming from but in all honesty, I think she needs help.

We arrived back at her barn and I helped her put her horse away. Eunice didn't say a word to me or look at me, it's like she's become bipolar.

Wasn't she just being nice? Now she's being...kind of distant.

"If you need anything else...I'll be in my room. Ok?" She said.

I nod, "Ok..uhm.. you oh-"

"I'm fine. Bye." She said bluntly and left me with my words in my mouth.

Sigh.

Even if I want to get mad, I know too well I shouldn't. It isn't her fault. And I know she should try her best not to take it out on others but the girl is only 18, I know when I was that age I didn't know any better either.

Once everything was in tact, my stomach grumbled and I knew that only meant one thing.

I'm hungry.

Maybe she's hungry too? Then again I doubt she wants to be bothered. But perhaps I should make her something anyways...

I decided I'd prepare some ramen for her with a coke on the side. I left the tray by her door in case she wanted to eat. In fact, I even left her a little note, letting her know that she still has me.

After all that was set, I happily ate my cup ramen with a little soju and watched some tv.

As bad as the tension is upon this whole household, I try my best to move on, I have to, in order to stop that monster. If I stay hidden with fear, matters will only get worse.

'From Hobi<3: Can I call you? :('

I smiled widely and dialed him.

He answered, "Can't you read? I asked if I can call you!"

I giggled, "Does it matter?"

"Yes! My manager was looking over my shoulder just now.." he sighed.

"Oh..mianhae (sorry).." I mumbled.

"No no its ok, I'm glad you called anyways..I miss you."

"I miss you too..are the boys ok?"

"You know they shouldn't be none of your worries..only me."

A smile hit my face as I blushed, "Is someone jealous~"

"Yes." He muttered, "I'm your boyfriend. Not them?"

"But..they're BTS." I reminded.

"And I'm Jung Hoseok, your boyfriend. Who's more important?"

"Mollayo.. (I don't know..)"

"You don't?!"

I cackled, "Just kidding!"

He laughed along, "I know, I'm teasing too, the guys are safe..."

"Are you ok?" I asked with concern.

"Of course I am, oh and by the way, detective Seung is going to go with you tomorrow to buy your new house."

"What?" I said in disbelief, "But..how-"

"He already has a list of houses that are up for sale, I think you should get one closer to the dorm so I won't have to travel so far hehe."

"He did? By himself?"

"Mhm! He's the best isn't he?"

"Well no shit of course he is! Wow.. wait how do you know?"

"My manager is paying him to protect us, remember? He's with me all the time, unless of course help is needed. We grew comfortable enough to get close." He added.

"Interesting."

"How's Hwayoung?" He asked.

"Oh I think she's...well...ok."

"Not doing too well huh?"

"Ehh...we need to understand."

"Yeah yeah.."

"Hoseok?"

"Yeah?"

"I really want to see you..." I said, "Like I just need to see you.."

He chuckles, "Great! Guess I'll tag along tomorrow~"

My eyes lit up, "Jinjja? You will?"

"Of course, I really want to see you too! Haha. Another Mai and Hobi day!"

I giggled, "Babe stop you're too cute."

"Not as cute as you~"

"Keke noo~"

We laughed, suddenly the tv shut off making me stop laughing in a heart beat, my eyes locked with Eunice who was staring at me with a straight face.

Eunice: If you're on the phone the tv shouldn't be on. Moms rules.

"O-oh..I'm sorry..I didn't-"

Eunice: You shouldn't even be eating in here in the first place OR drinking alcohol!

She exclaimed and began to pick up my mess.

"Mai? Is everything ok?" Hoseok said on the phone.

"Uhm..yeah-" I gasped, Eunice snatched my phone.

Eunice: Sorry, but it's late. Goodnight. *hangs up*

She flung the phone at me, I barely caught it.

Now she's just being mean.

It's not even night time!

"Eunice-"

"Shut up and clean." She muttered.

"Hey!" I exclaimed, she looked at me bluntly.

"I know a tragedy has changed your life, but you don't need to be such a fucking bitch to everyone. I didn't kill your mother nor was it my fault she died. You shouldn't be treating me like this!" I told her, "Now I know you're sad and feel like you're ready to die, but your mother wouldn't want that. What she would want-"

"You don't know her!" She screamed, "You don't know what she'd want!"

"WHAT SHE WOULD WANT IS FOR YOU TO LEARN TO GROW UP!" I exclaimed.

Her eyes widen, she looked puzzled.

Silence.

I put my hand over my mouth.

Did I really just say that?

Eunice's eyes lowered.

I took a step forward, "Eunice-"

"I'm sorry." She mumbled and timidly walked away from me.

Just then, her dad walked in.

"Hello Mai." He greeted as he hanged his jacket.

I remained with a saddened look.

He noticed, "Mai?"

"Uhm..General..thank you for your hospitality the last few weeks but I think I'm gonna go.."

"Ok, have you found a nice house yet?" He smiled.

"No.."

"No?" He retaliated, "Then what's the rush? You can stay as long as you'd like." He offered.

Maybe I shouldn't stay, Eunice can't tolerate so much, I would hate to fight with her all the time. It's bad enough she can't see Jimin so why would she want to see me? Or anyone?

Sigh.

I looked at him, "I'm just gonna go.."

He thought for a moment while staring at me, he looks at the stairs then back at me, "What did my daughter say to you? Was she being rude?"

Damn he's not dumb.

"No sir..I just-"

"Mai, don't pay mind to my daughter. I know its hard but she'll get through it. Just let her do it on her own, I know she's smart and has a decent rational mind to know better." He informed.

He's right, I should've concluded that right away, despite she can be mean, she will eventually notice..

I smiled, "Ok, but I still think it's better if I go-"

"No." He rejected, "God forbid something happens to you, that thing is out there and you're safer in here than out there so no. I won't allow you to go until you find a house and secure it too. Arasso?"

I wish my dad was protective like that while growing up, but no. Eunice is so lucky.

Eventually I gave in and assured him I won't go anywhere until its safe.

I'll let Hobi know.

-Next Day-

Eunice hasn't said a word to me, in all honesty I really can't wait to leave. She needs her space and so do I.

*ding dong*

I gasped happily and went to answer the door, "Babe!" I cheered and clung on to my boyfriend, whom I love oh so dearly.

He giggled and tightened his grip, "Haha you're too cute.."

DS: Good morning, Mai.

I pulled away and smiled, "Hey Jae."

The general soon walked in.

General: Hello detective.

DS: Good morning sir, I'm sure you know why I'm here.

General: Yes of course. But may I ask for a request?

A request?

DS: Sure.

General: Don't let Mai move in yet until everything is set. Such as, the move in, the security home system and anything else necessary. This is serious stuff we're dealing with.

Seung Jae nods.

DS: Well of course it is! Don't worry General, I got it alll covered. Mai won't move in until 4days, on the dot.

?!

"Wait.." I said, "So you mean I'll have to choose a house today?"

Hoseok: Duh? ㄱ.ㄱ why wait any longer?

Hoseok leaned in to whisper in my ear.

"I wanna be alone with you already..."

My face felt like it was burning up.

DS: *smiles* lets get going now.

"Ok..I'll see you soon, General."

General: Indeed.

Hoseok smiled at me as he held my hand and escorted me out.

Seung Jae made us sit in the back seat so we'd get "alone time"

Hobi put his arm over my shoulder and I rested my head on his.

"Thank you for coming with me.." I said.

"It's no problem, I'm glad I did. If not, detective Seung was going to be alone with a very pretty girl I call mine."

I looked at him and blushed, "Keke.."

He kissed me softly.

I broke the kiss, "What'd you tell your management to let you come alone?"

"Oh, they think we're down at the police station, and besides, I'm only allowed out if he comes so yeah."

"You don't plan to do this more often do you?"

He looked at me, "Why not?"

"You could get in trouble!"

"I don't care, its worth it as long as I'm with you." He smiled.

I couldn't help but laugh and snuggle closer to him.
