Udon Prison Takeover!
00:44, 12 June 2022WOWOWOWOW I'M ON A ROLL WITH THESE UPDATES---
"KAPAPAPAPAPA!" the laugh reached everyone in the section of the prison. Whoever it was spoke once they were done laughing, "Hey! Tell them everything, Straw Hat Kid! That there is still hope! That there is one last chance to take down Kaido! Kapapapa!"
"I heard a voice from the Never-Opening Cell!" a guard pointed out. Pretty sure everyone heard it, he didn't need to point it out.
I looked at Luffy. He looked back. "Do you know who that is?" I whispered, since the person was talking to him. He shook his head 'no'.
"So he's still alive..." the warden mumbled. The guards admitted that they thought it was a beast in the cell, but the warden was quick to correct them. "It's not a beast that's held in that cell. 'If we keep feeding him fish that are contaminated with industrial wastewater, he'll die.' That's what Orochi-sama ordered 13 years ago, he meant it as an execution... We couldn't disobey his order, so we kept him alive, but he should have been executed before anyone else. In that cell, we're holding... a member of the Akazaya Nine! We must execute him now and excuse it as an accidental death!"
People went in there to kill the guy in the cell, but it didn't sound like it was going to well for them, with all the yelling in agony and stuff. When more men started swarming the cell, Raizo entered the scene by jumping out of the main guard tower and yelling, "Kawamatsu! Here is the key to your cuffs and your sword!" He threw a green tinted blade and a key into the cell.
I'll have to look at that sword later. Guards came flying out of the cell once he got the items from Raizo. 'Kawamatsu' rocketed out of the cell, taking down multiple people with a technique he must have made himself. It looked incredible.
He landed and sheathed his blade, standing tall. Looks like he's a Kappa. A fishman. "Were the poisonous fish delicious?" the Kappa asked himself dramatically. "No, their awful taste made me want to vomit and they ruined my stomach... but I stayed alive for 13 years! In comparison to my lord's disappointment, whatever pain I felt paled! I have been waiting a long time for this! Kawamatsu the Kappa has just joined the fight!" He struck a pose once he was finished.
Out of nowhere, Kiku came running up to the newly escaped man. They conversed with Raizo who had landed to see the fishman. Guards were ordered to go after the trio, but they stopped in their tracks when Kawamatsu projectile vomited at them from all the poisonous fish he'd been eating for 13 years. Truly and alpha move.
"Get the Plague Rounds ready! Everyone, be prepared to fight!" the warden ordered, bringing back the stressful mood that the prison had before Kawamatsu escaped.
"Hey! Go away! Let go of me!" Luffy shouted from beside me.
Oh yea, I was prying these idiots off of him. All of the events kinda distracted me from him. "Leave Luffytaro-san alone!" Kiku demanded, taking out her sword.
"Otherwise, we must fight you!" Raizo followed up. Kawamatsu backed him up on that.
Then Chopper came running out of nowhere too. WHERE DID HIM AND KIKU COME FROM?! "It's you guys who should leave us alone!" a prisoner shot back at the ninja.
"Don't get us involved!" another shouted.
"Even if we're pathetic or go hungry, we can live as long as we submit to them!" a third one added.
See, even they admitted they're pathetic. I gripped the prisoner uniform of one of the men and looked to the rest of our allies, "Hey, they're not letting go of him so why don't I just give them something else to fear-"
"Kiku! Raizo!" Hyo's voice stopped my sentence. He was holding a sword now, and the two people he called to both recognized him by name immediately. "Let everyone know who you are! These are people who got their spirits broken and people who actually fought and have been beaten! If you want to encourage them, you must take off those cloth face coverings!"
They took off the small clothes that basically covered NONE of their faces. Somehow, this was a great disguise in the eyes of the people of this country because the prisoners looked like they finally knew the two time-travelers. The prisoners holding Luffy scattered. Looks like that problem was solved pretty easily.
Kiku, Kawamatsu, Raizo, Chopper, and Hyogoro all took positions around Luffy and I. One of the prisoners recognized Kiku right away after she put a cool mask on, saying, "Eh?! No way.. I thought he died at Oden Castle... The most beautiful swordsman in the Land of Wano... Kikunojo of the Fallen Snow?!"
Chopper turned around in shock, "What?! Are you a man?!"
"I'm a woman at heart," she replied.
"Good enough for me," I shrugged.
"That mask is scary!" Chopper shrieked.
The same prisoner who recognized Kiku started naming off all of the people in Kinemon's group. When he was done with that, he took a look at the outliers. The Straw Hats. "Eh?! Then who are Luffytaro and O(y/n)... Well anyway, this is amazing!" he cheered.
"WHAT?! What about me?!" Chopper cried out.
I patted his back, "It's ok, you just haven't fought yet, that's all."
Luffy moved on from this quickly and announced to the prisoners, "We'll save you at any cost! Trust us!"
"This is exactly like Orochi-sama's absurd story! We must let Kaido-sama know somehow!" the warden grumbled from behind the crowd.
Kiku heard him loud and clear, deciding to address him before anyone else could. "No..." she said. "Now that you've seen us, we need you to keep your mouth shut."

The prisoners weren't fighting for the guards anymore, but that just meant that the guards were shooting everyone they could with these damn plague bullets to make it spread. The prison grounds were overtaken by the sound of shooting and screaming. The scorpion guard from earlier stopped shooting to explain the nature of the plague in more detail. Apparently, if you've been infected long enough, you turn into some plague spreading zombie. The plague is officially named 'Mummy' and not 'Zombie' for some reason.
The infected started surrounding our small group, and it didn't look like we'd be able to escape unscathed. "Get out of here!" one of the men yelled out of the blue. "If you guys didn't show up... this wouldn't have happened!"
"Even if you guys really are... the Akazaya samurai who were supposed to have died 20 years ago... you'll never win! Kaido... That giant flying dragon... and the Animal Kingdom pirates! No one has a chance against them!" someone else shouted.
"Look..." another one began, "A mere weapon made by one of Kaido's underlings... can pose a threat like this! This devastating power!"
"That's right!" yet another person joined in on the downer speech, "If a stranger like you hadn't appeared, we could've just carried on with our daily lives in Udon! We didn't have to go through this!"
All that ever spews out of their mouths is some self-pitting bullshit. It pisses me off to no end. I guess that's why it's better I work under Luffy. He's got the kind of mentality that I don't when it comes to people like this.
Speaking of which, I looked over to Luffy, seeing that all their whining was getting to him. He stepped forward, towards the sick men, and proceeded to grab a whole group of them with his stretchy arms. The virus spread to him quickly.
"No way! He exposed himself voluntarily?!" one of them gasped.
He groaned as the virus burned at his skin. "A threat?!" he repeated, loud enough for everyone to hear. He gritted his teeth at the pain. "Devastating power?! It's not... affecting me at all!"
"Don't lie! Get away from them now!" Chopper screamed.
Blood was already dripping down his nose from the effects of the virus. He didn't listen to Chopper. "The samurai that I know are all very strong... But you guys...! Got your spirits shattered! Your daily lives?! You just do as you're told and get your measly dumplings...! You've given enough to keep you from dying and you call that LIVING?!" He picked all the men up and threw them aside like nothing. "WAKE UP! You guys are nothing but SLAVES!"
Chopper and I looked at each other. "How long do you think it'll take to make an antidote?" I questioned.
He shook his head, "I don't know yet, it's an unknown virus. Hopefully fast enough."
Luffy continued to speak, his voice getting louder even when he was clearly shaking from the pain of the virus, "I'm from overseas! What's wrong with that?! A stranger's not allowed to save this country?! I made a promise... to my friend Tama... who gave me her food... that I'll make this country a place where she can eat as much as she wants! If I can't... fulfill that promise, this country will be... An eternal hell! I heard about Oden! What an incredible guy... but 20 years ago, the day that he got killed by Kaido... this country came to a standstill, right?! We're here to win against Kaido! We don't need allies standing in our way! So make a decision now... Do you want to stand with us... or with KAIDO?! HUH?!"
Nearly all of the prisoners started tearing up. No one could answer his question for a moment. "Are you serious...? You'll still... give us a chance...?" one of them sobbed.
Seeing as the prisoners were gaining more hope, the warden decided to set off a huge bullet that would give pretty much everyone the plague. He put it in his elephant's trunk and almost shot it. I say almost because Luffy went in front of him and tried the trunk just before it was able to shoot.
Babanuki blew up with the plague bullet he meant to shoot at everyone else. That was the last thing that the prisoners needed to be convinced of us. The prisoners turned on the guards and helped us conquer Udon Prison.
~~~
"You're so reckless!" Chopper scolded our captain.
"Yea, and crazy," I added, crouching next to the virus covered man. He'd ended up collapsing from the virus taking over.
Someone walked up behind me, casting a shadow. "Are you gonna fight Kaido again?" Kid's voice questioned.
I looked behind me to see him looking at Luffy's tired face. "Do you wanna join us?" Luffy asked with a laugh.
"No way!" Kid grunted, walking away. "Look what happened to my buddy... Thank me for not killing you right here and now!" He looked over his shoulder and met eyes with me. "I'll be cashing in that 'owe ya one' sooner or later. You better watch out." He continued up the stairs with Killer after warning me.
They left after Kid gathered all of the metal from around the prison by using his Devil Fruit, destroying the emergency gate that was blocking off the exit. "Chopper, do you want to fix him up here or should I drag him to a corner or something?" I asked, looking at the doctor.
"It would be best if I had a quieter place. We can't touch him though," the reindeer said.
I nodded and activated my Devil Fruit, shifting my hands into giant shovels and thrusting them under the ground beneath Luffy. Eventually, I was able to lift him up on the piece of the ground I carved out. I walked to a nearby hallway that led to an exit and put Luffy on the ground. Chopper got to work as soon as he could, pulling out a whole chemistry set out of nowhere.
Otama and Momo came to us when we were in this little safe space. "Luffy may be stupid, but he is quite special. I could not have done something like that," Momo admitted, staring at the teen's weak and shriveled body.
"Oh, did you hear his speech to the prisoners?" I asked. In the background of our conversation, I could hear those same prisoners getting all loud about how they don't trust pirates. I guess the samurai told them.
Momo nodded, "Yes, Otama and I were listening."
After listening to all that, Luffy looked over to Momo weakly and mumbled, "Momo.. you are... a real idiot... and a coward... and a wimp... You're so hopless."
The kid got teary and shouted, "Shut up! You're so rude! You have no business talking to me like that!" He reeled his fist back to punch Luffy, but Otama jumped in the way.
"Momo-kun! Don't hit him!" she pleaded.
"Yea, please don't. You'll probably die from the virus," I grunted, sitting and leaning against a wall.
He stopped, but Luffy taunted him some more. "What are you, a chicken?" he asked.
Momo pushed Otama away to walk closer to Luffy, "I am Kozuki Momonosuke...Kozuki Oden's son!"
"Then go, Momo," Luffy said, turning his head to the angry prisoners who refused to work with pirates. When Momo looked at the scene in horror, stuck in place, Luffy decided to give him another push by standing up and breaking a bolder sized piece of the wall off. He threw it at Momo, forcing the kid to get out of the safe space.
"You would be a great dad," I joked from my seat, watching Luffy fall back to the floor.
"Really?" Luffy questioned weakly.
"No, not really," I laughed, hearing him laugh as well.
I grabbed the boulder blocking our view of the 'Momo Show' and threw it to the side. The prisoners fell to their knees and cried upon seeing the child of their previous leader. Momo almost looked like he was about to run away, but instead he started giving a speech about saving the country with us, the pirates. It got everyone riled up and ready to join the cause.
Chopper created an antidote after some crazy screams of agony from Luffy. We passed it around to all the infected prisoners and we got Luffy some food to eat since he was losing his mind with his stomach being empty.
"Alright, (y/n)! Let's try to do Ryou again!" Luffy called for me.
I followed him to a part of the prison that didn't have many people. Hyo followed after us to observe. We started by punching a bunch of stone, but I don't think we were getting anywhere. "Hey, do you think maybe we should just fight each other? This stone isn't fighting back or making me anxious like the collar earlier," I suggested.
"Oh! That's a better idea!" he chirped, turning to me and getting into a fighting stance. I got into my own stance and we grinned at each other, our fists and forearms covered in Haki.
"OI! No punching each other!" Chopper screamed, running over to us frantically. He grabbed Luffy's leg and continued yelling, "You need to rest! You just barely recovered!"
"But he looks fine!" I combatted, motioning to the teen.
Our captain nodded violently and added, "Everyone else is getting ready for the fight! I've gotta train too!"
Hyogoro came to our aid before the doctor could protest. He said that the training would be necessary for the upcoming battle. He urged us to punch his Ryou covered hands as a way to train us. Luffy tried it first, and he went flying backwards from the haki clash with Hyo. When Chopper saw how much stronger Ryou vs regular haki was, he kind of just left us to our own devices.
While we were training by punching everything we could find, Otama had fed one of her dango to the warden, making him report to Queen that everything was under control in Udon so we wouldn't have to worry about him coming back.
Luffy stopped training his haki when he was swarmed by prisoners who started cheering for him. He began pumping all of them up after climbing onto a piece of rubble. It was pretty funny to see.
"Hey, (y/n)..." I turned to Chopper when he approached me. He went on after seeing that he had my attention, "What did Kid mean? When he said he was going to cash in something?"
When I remembered what he was referring to, I shrugged, "He gave me the key for my cuffs; he snatched them on accident on the way outta here during his first escape. I've gone into debt with him because of it."
His eyes bulged out of his skull and he shrieked, "WHAT?! Why would you do that?! He's known for horrible things! He could ask for anything! ANYTHING!"
I waved him off, "Don't worry, he wouldn't do anything too crazy. Probably..."
"PROBABLY?!"
"OI! We've got more metal walls!" I heard Luffy call out to me after a huge crash.
I took this as my opportunity to escape this conversation. He was actually getting me worried by making me think about my decision. I ran to the circle Luffy made out of the huge metal slabs and entered the middle with him. He'd already started making indents in the metal.
Hyo walked over to me after seeing I'd entered the training circle. "Remember, force is not the goal with this type of haki, this is a different kind of power," he reminded me.
I gave him a quick nod and covered my arms in haki, trying to focus on the flow he was mentioning earlier. Maybe one of the reasons this is so hard to get is because of my idea of how my haki works. I think of it more of outer armor and a power booster, contrary to this "flowing in your body" idea.
With that in mind, I sat on the floor again and activated my devil fruit. "WHOA! What kind of technique is that?!" Hyo questioned.
"What do you mean...?" I asked. It then hit me that he was never told about my devil fruit. "Oh! I can change my body's material to an unknown metal alloy. Kind of how like Luffy has stretchy limbs. I'm kind of the opposite."
"Wow," he breathed, a look of disbelief on his face.
I just let him stare while I continued what I was doing. I still have metals stored in my body that are currently just sitting in random places I put them in, so I used them to grasp this flow idea. I moved some of the material to my arms, moving them in a way that blood moving through a body would, except only doing it from my elbow to my fingertips.
Needless to say, this was way harder than I thought it would be but thinking about circulation rather than flow was working way better in my mind. I activated my regular haki in the same place as the circulation. Next was the hard part. I closed my eyes and imagined the feeling that haki gives off in place of the swirling metals in my limbs.
There was a new feeling among everything else I had going on, and I opened my eyes upon discovering it. It was similar to when I ripped the collar off my neck. I gave my surroundings a quick look around, seeing that Luffy had already banged up quite a few of these metal slabs and the sun was in a new position. I guess I've been doing this for way longer than I thought I was.
I stood up carefully, trying to keep everything moving the same way it was when I was concentrating a second ago. I reeled my fist back and punched a nearby slab. A two foot in diameter hole was blown through the metal. I stared at it and then my fist.
"OOOOHHH SHIT! I DID IT!" I cheered, raising my hands and stopping everything that I had going on in my fists.
"WOW! HOW DID YOU GET IT ALREADY?!" Luffy shouted, grinning widely and running over to me, hugging my waist and lifting me up with excitement. He almost crushed me, even with my devil fruit activated.
He let go of me and I released the metal that was previously flowing in my fists out of my body. It solidified into a crazy looking ball of thread-thin steel and copper wires. This must be the non-moving version of my idea of 'circulation'. I picked it up off the floor and showed it to Luffy, who looked very confused at the sight. "Look! I used this! I didn't understand what to do with the word 'flow' so I kind of created the feeling physically before I could do it mentally with haki energy," I explained.
He nodded and grabbed the ball from my hand, smiling at it in fascination and then me, "That's amazing! You're amazing! I wish I could do that!"
"Awww stop, you're makin me blush," I said, jokingly pushing his shoulder.
He laughed and held the ball up as he asked, "Can I keep this?"
I shrugged and deactivated my devil fruit, "Yea, why not? I've got plenty more metal stored away. I doubt it'd be much help to you though. Ya know, since you're not made of metal."
He grinned, "I know! I just want it because you made it. Plus, maybe looking at it will help me a little since I still have to train." He walked away and set it down in front of him, looking at it and then at his own fists. He began his training once again. I stared at him a minute, kind of surprised. Maybe if I wasn't so socially inept I'd have figured something out by now.
