Chapter 10
20:03, 19 February 2021Natalies eyes scanned the fight frantically, looking for the blonde. All she could see was dark figures, no sign of the girl. Natalie started to panic.
Without thinking, she ran towards the group of men. Clutching her rifle against her chest, ignoring the cries of Vince and Mary. She made a promise to reunite Sonya with her brother, she wasn't going to break it. Not now.
Shooting down wickeds men as she ran, she came to a slight problem. She was on her last bullet. More and more masked men surrounded the small girl, pointing guns towards her. Cornering her.
"Janson isn't happy with you Natalie" said one of the mans muffled voices. She couldn't quite figure out who exactly said it, but that wasn't necessary information.
"I don't give a damn what my father thinks" she snarled, holding her rifle to her face threateningly. She knew she would only be able to use it once, then she would be taken. Brought back to Janson.
However before she could pull the trigger, the men started dropping like flies. Natalies eyes fixed on the tall brunette she was with that morning, his hair flying through the air as he fired. Saving her life once more.
Natalies eyes watched as Parker came beside her, she couldn't move, couldn't speak. She just stood there. Awkwardly.
"Natalie let's go!" He screamed, pulling her for her daze. His arm wrapped tightly around her wrist, pulling her through the chaos. Her eyes remaining on his dark expression. She seemed to be mesmerised by him.
He saved her life twice now, and each time she saw him she would become flustered. What was happening?
In the moment something in her mind suddenly clicked. Sonya. She was still missing. Attempting to pull away from Parker, his grip tightened, refusing to let her go.
"Please! We have to find Sonya!" Natalie pleaded, burning her skin with his grasp. Parker stopped dead in his tracks, almost causing Natalie to trip over. His eyes staring directly as her, these weren't the eyes she had looked into before.
"Natalie I am not losing you okay! Forget it!"
Natalie was slightly taken aback by his words, they were demanding yet the tone he spoke. Wasn't. It was more scared. Yes the pair had grown closer, but this didn't seem like friendship.
Blocking everything around her, Natalie pulled Parker to her. Connecting her soft lips with his. It took a moment of realisation before he kissed her back. This is something she wanted to do all day. They both did.
Pulling away, Natalie took the opportunity of him being distracted, to run. She ran as fast as she could in the opposite direction she had previously searched. She wasn't letting them take Sonya. Janson wasn't getting the opportunity to kill her.
After minutes of searching Natalie stumbled across a pale hand, reaching out to her from behind a few crates. "N-Natalie" came the faint raspy voice, tears formed in the girls eyes. She knew that voice.
Thinking the worst, Natalie slowly moved her feet forward. She slapped her hand over her mouth as her tears finally fell. Laying before her, was the weak body of Sonya, blood seeping through her shirt.
Natalie fell to her knees, the blood staining her hands as she frantically tried to stop the bleeding. "Oh god Sonya, I'm so sorry" she sobbed, the pressure doing nothing on the wound.
Natalies vision blurred as the tears overtook her sight. First Mum, then John and now Sonya. Everyone she touched seemed slowly to leave her.
Sonya's frail hand, shakily took hold of Natalies, blood covered one. Her eyes heavy after she looked at the damaged girl that leaned over her.
"Natalie....it-it's okay" more tears fell from Natalies eyes, the shaking voice of Sonya tore her heart in two.
"No, no Sonya listen to me. Your gonna be okay" Natalie reassured her, holding the girls hand to her face. She wasn't ready to lose someone else. Not now. Not when she was finally happy. "Your gonna be okay."
At this point, Natalie couldn't believe her own words. Sonya's shirt was soaked in the deep red liquid, the colours had drained from her body. She wasn't going to last much longer. And that fact broke Natalie.
With the last bit of strength Sonya had, she used it to speak to her sister.
"Y-your going to be fine.....your going to s-save Aris. You'll be a family again" her voice gargled as the blood began to pour from her mouth.
"No. No Sonya, you have to stay with me....you have a brother, he's alive. Your going to meet him okay" Natalie sobbed, the dark liquid poured onto the ground.
Hearing that she had a brother brought a smile to Sonya's blood stained lips. She knew she had a family before her memories where erased. And she hoped one day she would find them. And now thanks to Natalie, she knew she had a brother.
"Thank you Natalie...."
