Summer's Ending
03:36, 21 September 2024No one's POV
As the summer continues, Wednesday and Enid's relationship grows deeper in connection and love. They travel to different parts of the country, sometimes with the family and sometimes by themselves. The Addams are rich after all. Enid has been overjoyed spending the summer with Wednesday. The bright werewolf never thought this would be her life but being with Wednesday has brought her so much happiness in her life.
Wednesday also has enjoyed their time together even though she wouldn't ever admit it to anyone. There's one thing though that she hasn't told Enid about. About half way through the summer, Wednesday started to get some weird texts from an unknown number, threatening her life. As a person, she clearly enjoys the threats because it means someone is daring to cross her. Wednesday enjoys torturing those who send threats her way but if someone threatens Enid, that person is dead before they can even finish the next sentence.
Tomorrow the two girls will return to Nevermore Academy where they will continue to room with each other and where Wednesday can start investigating her newly found stalker.
Enid's POV
Wednesday and I woke up pretty late today since it will be the last time we'd be able to until the following weekend. I'm currently packing my things since we return to school tomorrow and classes start on Monday. I'm so not excited for classes to start but I am happy to see all of my friends again!
I have been noticing that Wednesday seems...eager to go back? Maybe she misses Eugene and the bees. Or maybe she just wants to win the fencing tittle this year. Either way it's weird. Right now we're both doing our own packing since we have to get up super early tomorrow for the drive back to Nevermore. I'm hoping we have some classes together!
"All done!" I say happily
"I just need to pack my typewriter and then I'll be done as well." Wednesday says from her desk.
"Are you excited for our return to school?" I ask her as I sit on her bed.
"I wish to burn that school down." She responds
"Didn't you have that choice with that fight with Crackstone when he literally lit the quad on fire?" I ask with a chuckle
"I wouldn't have had the satisfaction of doing it myself." She responds back
"Ah. Of course. Have you committed arson before?" I ask
"Wait no, actually I don't want to know." I say before she could respond
"Knowing you, I know you have." I added
"No need to ask ridiculous questions mi sol." Wednesday says as she finishes up packing her typewriter.
Wednesday walks over to me and stands between my legs and puts her hand under my chin to make me look up to her.
"This has been a bit more bearable of a summer with you joining me. Everything I'm forced to do is more bearable when I'm doing it with you by my side." Wednesday says
I'm gonna cry.
"Thank you Wens. You make my life better too." I say still looking into her eyes.
She leans down and we share a sweet kiss.
Then the door swings open.
"EW" Pugsley yells
Wednesday snaps around and already has her brother by the collar of his shirt and pinned on the wall.
"What have I said about barging into my room?" She questions.
"Sorry Wednesday, won't happen again. Don't kill me." He pleads
"Begging for your life. Pathetic. What do you want?" She says
"Mom and dad said lunch was ready." He says scared.
Wednesday releases him from her grip
"Get. Out." She says
With that, Pugsley runs out of her room.
"I really thought you were about to stab him" I say
"I would have but I didn't want you to see me do that." She says
"Speaking of lunch, I'm starving." I say as I get up and skip towards the hallway.
I'm very well acquainted with the house so I no longer need Wednesday to show me around or I don't have to follow her lead anymore. Wednesday is walking behind me as we arrive to the dining room.
"I heard that commotion from down here, what did Wednesday do?" Morticia asks as we take our seats.
"Pugsley barged into my room." Wednesday retorts.
"Our storm cloud taught him another lesson!" Gomez says
"I thought she was going to kill me!" Pugsley says
"Enid is the reason you're still breathing." Wednesday says to him
"How delightful." Morticia says as she sets down the food on the table.
"Looks delicious!" I say
We all grab food for ourselves. As we eat, we talk about how school is starting again and we're all making bets on how many times Wednesday will get arrested this year. Her criminal record is longer than a CVS receipt. It's actually so insane but not surprising considering she is, ya know, Wednesday.
Wednesday's POV
Lunch comes to an end and I retreat back into my room. Enid and my parents have become close over the time she's been here so she spends a decent amount of time with them.
I walk into my room and I shut the door behind me. I've been getting texts for about a month now from a number that's not saved into my phone. I go over to my desk to pick up my phone to see if this mysterious person has said anything else. And to my luck, they did.
"Can't wait to see you tomorrow. Watch yourself this year."
Hm. So they're a student? There's also going to be parents there so everyone as of now is a suspect. I know a lot of the parents don't enjoy my presence at Nevermore. I don't mind knowing that. I don't care if people don't like me. It doesn't matter to me.
I've been keeping this a secret from Enid because I don't want her to worry and they also haven't threatened her. Only me. If they end up threatening her then that's when I'll let her know but for now, I have it handled.
The other texts they've sent me are ranging from, "Your blood will be spilled" to "Enjoying your summer?" and of course the vague threats like "I can't wait to take you out of this world." I've been saying threats since I could talk, and even at 2 years old I had better threats. Whoever this is really needs to practice on their threats. If you ever want to properly scare someone, you need the proper threats. I also haven't told my parents because it really doesn't concern them. This person is strictly going after me so it only concerns me.
I get pulled from my thoughts hearing the door open and I'm ready to attack whoever is entering. Then I realize it's just Enid.
"Hi" She says to me as she closes the door.
"Hello Enid." I say looking at her.
She walks up to me and wraps me in a hug. Then my head gets thrown back and I enter a vision.
I look around and I notice I'm in a cemetery. Very dark and foggy. I hear a voice but I can't recognize it. I'm walking around searching for whoever is talking. I see a shadow by a grave, it looks to be a woman. I approach the grave and the woman is gone. The name on the headstone reads, Enid Sinclair. I panic looking around for that woman again. I see her at the end of the row on her phone. Then my phone buzzes. I grab my phone and the text reads, "I told you I would kill you, I never told you how though." Enid. No. That can't be. I look up and the woman's shadow looks oddly familiar but I can't see anything but her shadow.
My head snaps back and I'm met with Enid holding me on the ground.
"Wednesday!" She cries as she pulls me into a hug.
"Enid!" I cry into her. I can't believe I just cried her name out. I must still be feeling the pain from the vision.
"You're shaking, what did you see?" She asks me with worry in her voice.
I can't breathe. I feel like I can't get enough oxygen into my body. I am holding onto Enid for dear life never wanting to let her go. She's in danger, I have to protect her even if I die trying. Nothing can happen to the one person I actually care about, even though I won't ever admit such things out loud. Enid broke down my walls and I allowed her in. I see myself being with her for the rest of my miserable life.
"Wens, breathe. You need to breathe" Enid says as she's stroking my head and holding me into her chest.
Breathing seems nearly impossible after what I saw. I wouldn't be able to breathe if something happens to Enid.
For the third time in my life, I'm worried and scared for Enid's wellbeing. First being the night at the Gates mansion, the second night being that dreadful night of the attack on Nevermore.
I keep gripping tighter around Enid's body.
"I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere." Enid says reassuring me.
She's right. She won't go anywhere if I can help it. I will find whoever it is and I'll make sure they die a slow painful miserable death.
"I'm—o-ka-y." I stuttered out.
"Wanna talk about what you saw?" Enid asks softly.
I sit up to face her. She wipes the tears that have fallen.
"There's some information I need to share first before I tell you about my vision." I say
"Okay, I'm listening." She says holding my hands.
"I've been getting texts, well more like threats from an unknown number. They say anything between, I'm going to kill you to asking about my summer. I'm sorry for not telling you sooner but the reason for that is because I assumed they were just going after me so I figured it wouldn't be necessary to say anything about it until I had more clues. I was wrong, so terribly wrong and I'm so sorry for not saying anything." I ramble
"I get it, you like to try to solve things by yourself first. I am always here for you." Enid says as she hugs me again.
I pull out from the hug and look at her face. I grab her hands.
"My vision, I was in a cemetery. I came up to a grave where a shadow of a woman was but when I got there she disappeared for a moment. The headstone said your name. I look around trying to find that woman and she was at the end of the row when my phone buzzed and the message on my phone said "I told you I would kill you, I never told you how though" Then that's where it ended. And that message is right, losing you would literally kill me." I say almost crying again towards the end.
"Your visions are only somewhat accurate right?" Enid asks
"To a point they are accurate but if anything they're more or so warnings of what could happen if I don't figure it out." I explain.
"We will figure this out together, okay?" Enid says
"Okay." I respond holding her closer
"The woman, could you see how tall she was or any features of any sort?" Enid asks
"She looked to be maybe slightly taller than you, and shoulder length hair but that's all I could tell." I explain
"That narrows the search down, kind of." Enid says
"We're looking for a woman, definitely older because I remember hearing her voice but I couldn't make out what she was saying or who was speaking but it definitely sounded older. Maybe a woman in her 30s." I explain.
"How about we get some more rest and we can dig our brains later. How does that sound?" Enid asks.
"That sounds nice actually." I say
We get up from the floor and I lay down. Enid gets in behind me and wraps her arms around my body. I'm pulled into her embrace yet again. No one will ever catch me complaining about her being in my personal space ever again.
"I love you Sinclair." I say holding her arms close to me.
"I love you too Addams." Enid says.
Whoever is trying to take away the light in my life, I will find you and I will make sure you suffer.
A/N- SEASON 2 bts of Wednesday dropped yesterday and OMGSHFBGKTJS. Enid's new look has me hyperventilating and kicking my feet. AHHH I'M SO EXCITED.
