Chapter 17

01:45, 16 February 2022

The Asgardians dug into their food and joked and talked over one another as dinner went on. Loki filled my plate with different foods and smiled as he urged me to try some. I was cautious at first because I didn't recognize most of what was on my plate. But once I tried it, my taste buds begged for more. It was the most delicious food I had ever tasted.

"My name is Frigga, dear. It's wonderful to meet you." The older woman said as she poked her fork into her food and smiled.

"I'm Alex." I smiled back.

"Oh, I know. Thor has told me all about the human who's caught my youngest son's eye." She winked at me and my cheeks began to burn with a blush. My heart did a spin in my chest and I looked over at Loki, who was glaring at his brother.

"Enough, mother." Loki politely said as he looked at the woman, his gaze turning soft. She giggled to herself and began eating, sending me a glance.

"Why have you come here, Loki?" Odin asked as he put his drink down and looked over at his son. Loki had let my hand go and intertwined both of his in front of him on the table.

"Thor invited me." He said as he looked over at his brother. Thor had a mouth full of food and happily nodded as he looked over at his dad.

"And the human dressed as an Asgardian?" Odin asked as he nodded at me. He spoke about me like I wasn't even there.

"Alex is wearing clothing that I made her. Clothing that resembles mine. Not Asgardian clothing." Loki coldly answered as he moved one hand under the table and placed it on my knee. I wasn't sure if he was trying to comfort me or himself.

"Why have your brought her?" He asked his son, once again acting like I wasn't here.

"She is my guest." Loki said, clenching his jaw.

"And a wonderful guest she is. We are very happy to have you here." Frigga interrupted with a wide smile. Odin scoffed and looked over at his wife.

"You do not speak for me." He harshly said. Frigga rolled her eyes and ignored his harsh ton as she went back to eating.

"Well, I'm certainly happy to have her here." Thor laughed as he threw his arm around my shoulder and pulled me against him.

"Oh god." I whispered as he squeezed me tightly.

"Even if she did steal my partner." He added as he let me go and winked at me.

"What do you mean, dear?" Frigga asked her son, raising a brow.

"Director Fury assigned Loki and Alex to be partners now." Thor explained before chugging down his cup full of ale.

"You are an Avenger?" That seemed to peak the AllFather's interest in me.

"I am." I smiled a little and nodded.

"Like the Iron Man or like the bird man and spider woman?" He harshly asked me. I put it together that he was talking about Tony, Clint and Natasha. He was asking if I had powers or not.

"Um, I'd say not like any of them. Iron Man uses a suit, the man inside has no real powers. I actually have powers." I explained as I looked over at the older man.

"Show me." He ordered.

"Father-" Loki began to protest but I looked over at him and mouthed "it's okay". I cleared my throat and looked back at the AllFather. I lifted my right hand up and pointed my pointer finger at the fork in his hand. I lifted it from his hand and brought it over to me. His eye went wide and his mouth fell open a little as I brought it back to him, setting it in his hand again. He cleared his throat and relaxed his face as he raised a brow.

"Is that it?" He asked, trying to look unimpressed.

"I have the ability to control all elements. Manipulate them to my will." I explained.

"How much can you manipulate them?" He asked, leaning forward towards me.

"Enough to fly, stop explosions, go through solid objects." I named off a few things I knew I could for sure do. He narrowed his eyes at me and then a taunting smirk played on his lips. I know Loki said he was adopted but man does is he similar to Odin.

"That door there-" He pointed to the left at a singular golden door.

"-is the door to my private room. Where all of my secrets are held. Made of Asgardian gold." He quietly explained.

"Sealed with a spell and only opens to me. Go through it and retrieve the golden wand I have placed inside." He smirked at me. I inhaled and stood up from the table. The room went silent for a moment as I walked towards the door. I remember Tony said the elements in his machine were all of the elements known to man AND Asgardian kind. I should be able to do this. I stopped at the door and exhaled as I felt the elements inside. I could feel all eyes on me. I shifts the elements and easily passed through the door. I spotted the golden wand sitting out on the desk so I grabbed it and walked back out of the room.

"What..." Odin gasped as he stood up from his chair. I walked over and handed him his wand before sitting back down. Loki had the biggest smirk on his face and the look of pure disbelief on Odin's brought me joy.

"How is that possible?! That is Asgardian gold! No other planet or realm has ever seen it!!" Odin yelled out as he looked at me.

"Alex was involved in an accident that exposed her DNA to all elements known to man and Asgardian kind, father." Loki sounded so cocky right now.

"She can manipulate anything and everything made from those elements." Loki chuckled a little. Odin clenched his jaw and sat back down, gripping the wand in his hand. The dinning hall filled back up with the sound of talking and laughing and Loki placed his hand on my thigh again, gently squeezing it.

*A few hours later.*

After the door incident, Odin stayed silent. Dinner was over and Loki had just finished giving me a tour of his childhood home. We stopped in a beautiful garden filled with flowers, trees and a small pond in the center. Loki pulled me over to a bench near the pond and I inhaled the clean air as I leaned back.

"So." I asked as I looked at Loki.

"The human who's caught her youngest son's eye?" I asked, smiling as I watched Loki's cheeks turn red.

"She knows nothing." He scoffed.

"I dunno, Loki." I teased as I looked at the pond.

"After that little jealous thing with Bucky and your mom saying that. Seems like you liiiiike me." I sang as I looked over at the God. I didn't want to mention the fact that he almost kissed me while we were training. Mostly because I almost kissed him too. He rolled his eyes and scoffed as he stood up and walked away.

"What? Is it really that offensive to accuse you of liking a human?" I asked as I raised a brow and followed him. He walked over to the pond and stared down at it, his bright green eyes deep in thought.

"Yes!" He harshly said as he clenched his jaw. I felt my heart tear and I took a step back as I glanced over at the water. His eyes were watching my reflection.

"...But not when the human is you." He said, his words and voice soft. I felt my heart tug in my chest and swallowed hard as he looked over at me.

"So, you admit it?" I couldn't help but smile a little. I suddenly felt his presence in my head and knew he was reading my thoughts. Feeling my feelings.

"Do you?" He asked me, turning his full body towards me. I inhaled sharply as I looked up into his eyes. He slowly took my hand in his and intertwined our fingers, moving himself closer to me.

"Alex, from the moment I saw you in Tony's living room...I haven't been able to stop thinking about you. You...draw me in like no other." His low voice almost a whisper as he leaned down towards me. I was left completely speechless by his words. My heart raced in my chest as his breath hit my lips.

"I know you feel the same." He added. I gently nodded and he pressed his soft lips to mine. I inhaled and leaned into the kiss, feeling his free hand gently place itself on my cheek. I felt like my heart was letting off fireworks in my chest. I slowly pulled away from him but Loki quickly removed his hand from mine and placed it on the other side of my face, pulling me back into the kiss. I put my hands on his chest as our kiss turned more passionate. My body pressed into his and it felt like he would never let me go. Which I was okay with.

"How wonderful!" Thor's voice boomed towards us. Loki slowly released his lips from mine and growled as he glared over at his brother. I giggled to myself and pulled away from the God, lightly running my finger over my lip.

"What do you want?" Loki demanded as he crossed his arms and stared at his brother with a look that could literally kill.

"Father requests your presence." Thor gave us an innocent smile.

"Very well." Loki exhaled hard. He looked over at me and I smiled widely at him, causing him to smile back. He excused himself and he and Thor left the garden. I could hear Thor giggling and Loki telling him to shut up.

"It's interesting." Frigga's voice suddenly said from behind me. I turned around and a blush engulfed me as I watched her walk around the pond towards me.

"What is, your highness?" I asked as put my hands behind my back. She smiled up at me before walking over to the bench and sitting down. She patted the seat next to her and I cautiously sat down, giving her more room than I had.

"The effect you have on my son. It's almost as if....you've brought out the human side of him." She chuckled a little and my eyes went wide.

"Don't let him hear you say that. He'd lose his mind." I laughed a little as I leaned back against the wood backside of the bench.

"He would deny it but in his heart he knows it to be true." She sweetly smiled as she looked over at me.

"And you're the cause." She added.

"I dunno. I....haven't really done anything." I shrugged a little as I looked down to my knees.

"You've shown him how to feel alive again." She said in almost a whisper. I looked over at her and she winked at me before gently patting my knee and standing up. She quietly walked away but stopped at the exit and turned and looked at me.

"And I thank you for that." She added before turning and walking away. I was left alone in the garden, a wide smile on my face and butterflies in my stomach. I couldn't believe Loki had just kissed me. I could still feel his lips on my own. They fit so perfectly.

The device Tony gave me for communication with Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D suddenly went off in my pocket. I pulled it out and read the message on the small screen.

"Loki and Alex to the Hellicarrier immediately."

It flashed four more times before it went away. I stuffed it back in my pocket and left the garden, searching for Loki. I walked into a large hallway and heard his signature scoffing from behind a set of wide golden double doors. I walked over to them and raised my hand to knock but stopped when I hard my name.

"This Alex human, she truly has the ability to morph all Asgardian elements?" Odin asked.

"She does." Loki coldly replied.

"She could be useful here. I want her to stay." Odin's voice was harsh and what he said was more or an order than request.

"No." Loki's voice was even harsher.

"She is a human. She belongs with her kind." Loki added.

"Then why have you chosen to be around her? You are not her own kind." Odin scoffed.

"I am not your kind and yet here I am." Loki harshly replied. I knew Loki was adopted but his words were interesting. I raised a curious brow and wondered, if Loki was not Asgardian, what was he?

"That is different, Loki!" Odin yelled. My body was tense as I leaned in closer to the door. I glanced around to make sure no one saw me eavesdropping.

"How??" Loki yelled back.

"I am your father. I have raised you. We are family. Whether you believe it or not, I do love you." Odin's words were stern and loud.

"And I lov-"

"Excuse me?" I heard a males voice call out. I inhaled and turned to see a guard staring at me with a raised brow.

"Oh, hey." I awkwardly smiled.

"You don't truly mean that!" Odin's muffled scoff sounded through the door.

"What are you doing?" He asked me as he looked over to the door.

"I know you! You can't feel such things!!" He harshly added.

"Just, I was, um, about to knock on the door. I need Prince Loki to join me back on Earth." I quickly said, nodded towards the door.

"Right...." The man said as he walked over to the door. He knocked once and Odin's voice boomed out for him to enter. He pushed the door open and motioned for me to enter. I quickly followed him inside and Loki's harsh eyes turned soft when they met mine. I didn't even realize Thor was in here. He was awkwardly sitting in the corner.

"What." Odin harshly asked.

"Um, Loki is needed on Earth. He and I have....Avenger business." I said under his harsh gaze. He exhaled hard and slow as he waved everyone away. Loki took my hand and pulled me from the room and down the hall.

"What, uh, what was going on in there?" I asked, letting out a small laugh to seem less suspicious.

"Nothing you have to worry about." Lok replied.

"Just seemed tense in that room." I shrugged.

"It is always tense around my father. He's rude, arrogant, demanding, intolerable, and a know it all!" Loki scoffed as he left the palace.

"Funny, some would say the same about you." I winked at him. Loki rolled his yes but relaxed his tense body as he and I walked through the town. I wanted to bring up what happened in the garden but didn't think it was the right time, so I stayed silent. Loki didn't speak another word until we got to the end of the rainbow bridge.

"Earth please, Heimdall." Loki nodded at the guardian. He wrapped his arms around me and I closed my eyes as the bright light swirled around us.

We landed on the Hellicarrier and I dropped us through the floor to Fury's personal office. He jumped a little when he turned around and saw us standing there. I smiled and he rolled his eye and he pressed the red button on his desk.

"Cap, come in." He said through the mic. The door opened and Captain Marvel walked into the office. She was beautiful, tall and giving off very intimidating vibes. But in a "I know she'll protect me" kinda way. I was surprised to see her here since I just saw her on the Holo comms.

"Cap found some info on this strange figure. He's already got forces on planets in another galaxy. You're gonna go there and take out the threat and bring back the soldiers." Fury ordered.

"What??" I half laughed.

"Yep. You leave in an hour. Get ready, kid. Your first off world mission" Fury chuckled to himself.
