Chapter 16

19:25, 28 November 2021

After the jet landed and Fury's men took the terrorist, Tony called an emergency meeting for every Avenger and Avenger associate. We went to the lab and he turned on the Holo comms for the ones who couldn't be here. Thor, Clint, Natasha, Steve, Bruce, Peter, Loki and I stood in silence as the calls starting coming in. The first to flash on the screen was a group of people. A man, a green woman, a grey man, a raccoon?, a tree person, and a literal alien looking woman.

"Those are the Guardians of the Galaxy." Loki whispered. I nodded and another Holo comm turned on. This time it was a single woman.

"Captain Marvel." Loki informed me.

"Bucky said he and Sam are landing now." Steve said as he stared down at his phone. A third Holo comm turned on and a man in a black cat like costume appeared with a woman in red next to him.

"Black panther, real name T'Challa, and Wanda" Loki whispered as he nodded to the two. The lab door opened and two more men walked in. They were quietly arguing with one another about something. The man with a metal arm looked over at me and flashed me a flirtatious half smile. I felt my cheeks get hot as a blush overcame me. He was extremely attractive. Loki cleared his throat and the man looked over at the God, nodding a hello.

"Bucky and Sam. Winter soldier and the Falcon." Loki whispered but his voice had a more harsher tone to it. The men walked over to me and the one with a metal arm extended his other hand out to me.

"Bucky Barnes." He smiled.

"Alex Morrison." I smiled back as I placed my hand in his. He lightly gripped it as he shook my hand, his eyes lingering on my lips for a moment. I began to feel hot, like really hot.

"Bucky is Steve's best friend. He's also technically 98 years old." Loki suddenly said as he glared at the man.

"But I look 28." Bucky winked at the God and Loki clenched his jaw as he looked away from him. Bucky let my hand go and Sam pushed him away from me.

"Stop flirting with the new girl. And why you tryin' to piss Loki off, huh? You got a death wish? Don't be stupid. I ain't tryin' to die today." He whispered, causing Bucky to laugh.

"Alright!" Fury clapped his hands once to get everyone's attention. I didn't even see him come in I was so occupied with Bucky. I looked up and over at Loki, who was glaring at Bucky and bumped his shoulder with mine.

"Are you jealous?" I whispered. His bright green eyes shot to mine and I giggled.

"I beg your pardon?" He scoffed, keeping his voice low.

"Just seemed like you were a bit jealous of Bucky." I shrugged, a smile forming on my lips.

"I am a God. I would never be jealous of a human. Especially not one like Bucky Barnes." He harshly whispered back. I rolled my eyes a little and inhaled as I nodded and looked away from him. It was interesting to see Loki like this and I couldn't help but wonder why. Why he seemed so jealous and angry at Bucky.

"We've called this meeting because some interesting information came to light today. Tony, Steve, Bruce, Loki and our new member Alex stopped a group of Cybernetic Terrorists. Tony, why don't you take the floor." Fury said as he motioned to Tony.

"We were under the impression that the CTs were attacking Tepoztlán because the pyramid was empty when they went looking for the treasure. But, that was proven to be false information." Tony said as he pulled up a holographic image on the console. It was the group of terrorists.

"They claim to be from another universe, Loki confirmed that." Tony nodded to the God.

"Yes, I could see their version of their worlds, galaxies and universe. It was similar to our own, but had noticeable difference. Their version of Earth sat 4 planets from their sun. Their version of Earth was mostly land, not water." Loki explained.

"A dark figure, one I could not properly see, attacked their world. It enslaved their people and slaughtered their heroes. It made soldiers out of some of them. Sent them off to other worlds in other galaxies. The army grew and eventually they took the whole universe." Lok cleared his throat as he looked around the room.

"How did they get here?" T'Challa asked Loki.

"When we realized they weren't in the pyramid for treasure and did a through scan of it and the surrounding town. There's an unmapped tunnel system that leads from deep within the pyramid to a cavern under the town. Inside of that we found more technology and a literal gateway." Tony took over as he flashed the images of the set up on the holographic console.

"The town was on top of a major energy source. That's why they chose it." Bruce added.

"And according to the terrorists, their leader is already here. He must have gotten in, undetected, when we were busy with the group and civilians." Steve said as he crossed his arms.

"We scanned the town, the neighboring towns, the whole country. No sign of anything out of the ordinary. Whoever this being is, he's hiding." Tony said as he turned off the Holo console and looked at the group.

"Well, we know he's here. We know there's an attack coming. We'll be on high alert." Captain Marvel nodded.

"Until we can figure out where he is, I want you all to go about your normal tasks. Report anything you find that could be related to the case. I'll send files over of the terrorists, their Cybernetic make ups, the set up underground and the recordings during my interrogation of them." Fury said as he nodded to the group.

One by one the holographic comms turned off and the other Avengers shuffled put of the lab. Bucky smiled at me as he walked by and I smiled back. Loki bumped into me as he walked towards the door and didn't bother to apologize or even look at me. I shrugged that off as him thinking about the new threat to the world and followed everyone upstairs.

"I gotta get back. Eddie Brock wants to meet to talk about some stuff." Peter said as his mask formed on his face.

"Us too. Laura wants me to babysit so she and Clint can go on a date night." Nat said, rolling her eyes at the smiling man.

"Odin requested my presence when this was over. So I will be going too." Thor nodded.

"Why did father request your presence?" Loki asked as he crossed his arms and raised a brow.

"Come with me and see." Thor smiled at his brother.

"No thank you. I do not wish to see him." Loki rolled his eyes.

"Daddy issues?" Bucky asked Loki, holding back a laugh. I snorted and looked over at Loki, who looked less than amused.

"At least my father is still alive." Loki harshly replied. Tony let out a loud laugh and Bucky's smile faded as he crossed his arms. He narrowed his eyes at the God and Sam draped his arm over his friend.

"It's alright, Buck, I'll be your daddy." He smiled widely at him. Bucky laughed at his friend as he pushed him away from him.

"Hey Alex." Bucky said after he stopped laughing. I turned my attention to him and he smiled at me.

"Wanna join Sam and I for dinner?" He asked as he crossed his arms.

"She's busy." Loki harshly answered for me. I looked at the God and raised a brow as he glared at Bucky. I could see something was really bothering him.

"Gotta eat some time, Loki." Bucky chuckled. Loki let out a harsh exhale and then suddenly disappeared from the room. I looked over at Bucky and knew I needed to go find Loki.

"I actually already ate. Before the meeting." I shrugged.

"Loki and I had an early dinner so we could get some training in." I added. That wasn't true, but I didn't want to straight up say no in a mean way.

"Alright, no worries." Bucky smiled and Sam patted him on the back before walking out to the balcony. Bucky told Steve bye and left with Sam. Thor called Heimdall and left the room, Steve hopped on the elevator and all that was left was Tony and I.

"Liiiaaarrr." Tony sang.

"Shush you." I rolled my eyes and fell through the floor to the apartment I was staying in. Tony had all of my belongings moved here while we were out on our mission. He told me I lived here now and I wasn't going to protest that. I walked over to Loki's door and gently knocked.

"Loki?" I called out. I was met by silence.

"Lokkkkiiii?" I sang as I knocked again, this time in rhythm.

"Either you open the door or I come in myself." I gave him his options and waited a few minutes for his answer. He stayed silent so I walked through his door and crossed my arms. He was laying on his bed with his left hand behind his head and his right throwing a small blue ball up in the air.

"Hey." I smiled. He glanced over at me and then back to the ball he was throwing.

"Leaving for your dinner date soon?" He asked me, his voice cold.

"Yeah, if you're ready." I shrugged. He caught the ball and narrowed his eyes as he looked over at me. I flashed him an innocent smile. I could see his lips wanting to turn up in a smile but he was stopping them.

"I mean, that's what I'm busy with, right? Dinner with you." I asked as I tilted my head slightly to the left. Loki smirked at me and appeared next to me, tossing me the ball before walking out of his room. I threw the ball on his bed and followed him to the elevator.

"So, where are we going?" I asked as I pressed the down button.

"Ya know, I feel as though someone like you would be bored with a normal dinner date." Loki admitted as the elevator doors opened up.

"Okkaayy?" I cautiously said as I narrowed my eyes at him. I knew he was up to something.

"You wouldn't be happy at a restaurant." He added, shrugging a little.

"And where would I be happy?" I asked him, laughing a bit.

"Having dinner with the Gods." He smirked. He wrapped his arm around my waist before I could even reply. He called on Heimdall and a bright light engulfed us. I shut my eyes tightly and wrapped my arms around Loki as we were pulled into the air. We quickly and forcefully flew up and around. I wasn't sure what was happening, it was so disorienting. When we finally stopped and our feet hit the ground I slowly opened my eyes. I pulled away from Loki and looked around the small golden room. A handsome dark skinned man dressed in gold armor greeted us.

"Loki. Alex." He nodded.

"H-How does he know my name?" I whispered to Loki.

"I am Heimdall. I see all." The man replied. He looked away from us and went silent as he stared off into the distance. Loki took my hand and smirked as he pulled me out of the room and towards the large rainbow bridge.

"Wow." I gasped as I stared out over the beautiful city at the other end of the bridge. Loki intertwined our fingers as he walked down the bridge. I glanced over the edge and watched the violent waves crash into one another. I looked back to the city and swallowed hard as we drew closer to it.

"Welcome to Asgard." Loki said as he smiled down at me.

"This place is breathtaking!" I laughed in disbelief as my eyes slowly examined very detail of the city. It looked fit to house the Gods. Probably because it was their home. We walked into the city and people stopped and stared at us. I finally understood what Loki as talking about when he said he could walk through the streets and see nothing but warriors. They all looked intense and alert. I felt small under their eyes. Loki pulled me up the stairs to the large palace and through the heavy doors. He was greeted by wide eyes and whispers.

"Prince Loki." A man bowed to the God.

"Is my father in the dining hall?" He asked the man. The servant nodded and Loki walked away, pulling me with him.

"Kinda rude to not say thank you." I whispered as we turned down a hallway. The walls were lined with beautiful art, the floors a white marble color.

"The Asgardians know me as rude and dangerous. I'd like to keep it that way." He shrugged.

"Why?" I asked as we walked down another hall. Loki's grip on my hand tightened and butterflies danced in my stomach. It was the first time since we arrived that I realized he was holding my hand. It made my heart leap in my chest. I had developed feelings for Loki pretty early on and his reaction to Bucky asking me to dinner gave me hope that he felt the same.

"Because they don't deserve kindness." He harshly replied as stopped at another pair of double doors. I could hear loud talking and laughing on the other side. Loki inhaled and pulled me a bit closer before using his free hand to push the doors open. All eyes fell on us and the room went quiet as the Asgardians stared. I spotted Thor and his wide smile at the end of the table. Across from his was a beautiful blonde haired woman, she looked just like Thor. She had to be his mother.

"Loki! Lady Alex!" Thor's happy voice boomed over the silent room. I tensed up as Loki slowly walked into the room. I could feel how nervous he was because of how tight he was holding my hand. I swallowed hard as the eyes of the Asgardians burned into us. We walked down to the end of the table and Thor motioned for the two people next to him to move. They agreed without a word. Loki sat me down between himself and Thor but still didn't let my hand go. The older woman smiled sweetly at me and that made me feel more comfortable. Talking quickly resumed and I glanced over at the older man at the head of the table. He had a golden cover over one eye, grey hair that was slicked back on his head, a medium length grey beard neatly kept and his one good eye burrowed into Loki and myself.

"Lady Alex, this is our father, Odin." Thor laughed as he looked at his dad. I felt my words lock up in my throat as I looked over at the man. I swallowed hard and inhaled as I forced myself to smile.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, sir." I nodded. His good eye traveled down to my suit, the suit that reassembled Loki's, and he studied it. His cold gaze returned to mine and then looked past me to Loki.

"Son." His deep voice said as he nodded at Loki.

"Odin." Loki replied, his voice equally as cold. I felt Loki gently squeeze my hand in his and knew this dinner date was going to be interesting.
