Through Dinner

04:07, 5 August 2024

I've kept my mouth shut when I was around Professor Umbridge, Mione made sure... Actually all my friends made sure I did, whenever Umbridge was in the same room as me they all eyed me to say shut up, even Draco would eye me.

I roll my eyes every time and took out my notebook to doodle, which helps block out her voice. But when she does get my attention and I look up at her Mione nudges me and I look back down at my drawings.

It's all worked so far, my hand is healed as much as a hand can heal with deep scars. It still has the white lines that comes with healed scars which is fine with me, nothing new.

My other classes are amazing, everything is amazing except for Umbridges class and her presence everywhere. I'm passing everything, my teachers love me, well, like me like any other smart student. Draco and I are closer, as friends, Pansy is more annoying though and I wouldn't be surprised if she hexed me in my sleep or something.

But now my friends gazes can't hold me back, because my blood is boiling. .Students surrounded the courtyard in front of the schools main doors, Umbridge stood there with her chin up as Filch placed Sybil's trunk down in the courtyard.

I moved forward, Mione grabbed my arm. "Liv, no."

I moved out of her grasp and walked to Sybil. "Hey." I said softly, Sybil sniffled, I held her hand. "It's going to be fine." I stepped in sort of in front if Sybil and glared at Umbridge.

Umbridge smiled. "Do you have something to say Miss Solace?"

"You can't do this." I rubbed my thumb on the back of Sybil's hand.

Umbridge grinned. "Yes I can. I have permission from the Minister himself."

I raised a brow. "I read the order given. You are allowed to dismiss teachers as you please, it says nothing about sending them off immediately." I scoffed. "You are using power you do it have, Miss Umbridge."

Sybil let go of my hand, I turned around to see her being held by McGonagall. "There, shush." She soothed Sybil.

I turned back to Umbridge. "Now how about we go have a word with Dumbledore and see how long he will permit Miss Trelawney to stay."

Umbridges jaw clenched as she smiled. "You should learn your place, Miss Solace."

I smiled. "I know my place, Miss Umbridge."

The doors opened, everyone turned to Dumbledore who walked down to us. "Professor McGonagall, might I ask you to escort Sybil back inside?"

I moved out of the way, McGonagall linked arms with Sybil. "Sybil, dear. This way."

Sybil reached a hand out to Dumbledore as she passed. "Thank you." She said in a quiet and sad voice. (That breaks my heart.)

"Dumbledore." Umbridge said in a pipped up voice. "May I remind you that under the terms of educational decree number 23, as enacted by the Minister-."

"You have the right to dismiss my teachers, you do not have the authority to banish them from the grounds. That power remains with the headmaster." Dumbledore said calmly but with authority, I smiled and crossed my arms.

Umbridge's smile moved up to her eyes but there was no joy. "For now." My jaw clenched.

Dumbledore looked at me. "Olivia, please join me for a chat in my office."

I nodded. "Of course Headmaster."

Dumbledore looked around and headed back to the doors. "Don't you all have studying to do?" He headed inside with Harry trying to get his attention.

Umbridge turned to me, I glared. "I don't care how power hungry you are, but one lesson you must learn is karma. Everyone has it." I uncrossed my arms.

Umbridge smiled. "And I will be sure you received it. My office, after your chat with Dumbledore." She giggled.

I rolled my eyes. "Whatever." I walked around her and into the castle, all the way up to Dumbledores office. "Sherbet Lemon." The stairs opened up, I walked up and knocked on the door.

"Come in." I opened the door and gave an innocent smile as Dumbledore gave me a hard stare. "Olivia." He scolded.

"I was standing up for my amazing teacher." I shrugged and walked over to Fawkes. "You really shouldn't be surprised, Dumbledore. Hello, Fawkes." I brushed his neck then turned back to Dumbledore who was resting his temple in his hand. "I'm sorry, I couldn't keep it bottled up anymore." I walked back over and sat down.

"Antagonizing your professors won't be good on your behavior records."

I sighed. "I know. And I can tell you also hate her and are proud of me for standing up so you can cut the Headmaster lecture." I smiled.

Dumbledore smiled. "Olivia." He lifted his head out of his hand. "You need to watch out."

I leaned back. "I know, I am, well was. After my first offense all of my friends have been helping me keep in check but I couldn't just stand there and not do anything. It's not like I spoke rudely, I just gave her some information about what the Ministers order actually said, which you clearly stated yourself."

"Yes but I can't get detention, you can. And what I head is that now she has you scheduled for after this meeting." I raised a brow. "I hear the whispers."

I shrugged. "Well, I have a magnificent first aid kit in my room and Draco as a extra set of hands. I'm fine."

Dumbledore sighed. "I want you to go to Madam Pomfreys after. I can not invade in her punishments without repercussions."

I nodded. "I know, it's fine. I have handled cuts and I can handle more." I smiled softly. "Thank you for caring though."

Dumbledore nodded. "Just make sure you go to Pomfreys after."

I smiled. "If it is bad enough for Pomfreys then I will go. But I can hand small things." I stood up.

"Please be careful from now on."

I nodded. "I will. Thank you." Dumbledore nodded, I smiled and walked out of his office and down the stairs.

(Let's go see the bitch.)I walked to the Defense classroom but was stopped by, none other then, Cedric Diggory.

I smiled. "Hello." He crossed his arms, I rolled my eyes. "Don't start."

"Liv." He scolded.

I stopped walking and put my hands on my hips. "Ric?" Cedric gave me a bored expression, I sighed. "I couldn't just stand there and watch as she made Trelawney helpless in front of everyone."

"I know." He sighed. "You just need to be more careful."

"I only spoke facts." I shrugged. "Well, they might have been rude but they were the truth."

Cedric smiled slightly. "You are going to get in serious trouble if you don't watch out."

I shrugged. "I'm fine, I got this, my life prepared me for this moment."

Cedric frowned and sighed. "Liv, just be more careful in the future. Just because you are use to this doesn't mean you should deal with it."

I pat his arm. "I know. Now I need to go before she thinks I ditched." Cedric nodded. "I'll be fine. Leave the worrying for your girlfriend, I'm fine."

"Yea, got it." Cedric ruffed my hair. "Go on."

I smiled and fixed my hair. "Don't make me look bad for my date."

Cedric rolled his eyes. "Just go and don't antagonize her anymore then you already have."

"No promises." I smiled and walked away.

Once I walked to the doodling and drawing classroom I walked up to her office and knocked on her door. "Come in."

I opened the door, Umbridge sat at her desk, drinking tea. "Do I sit down in the same spot?"

She put the tea cup down. "Yes." I nodded and plopped down in the chair. "Im sure you know what to do."

I picked up the quill. "I must never speak out of turn?" Umbridge nodded, I nodded. "Right."

I sighed and started to write. ... I wrote ..... And Wrote ..Passed Free Period.....Passed the Start of Dinner...Passed Dinner....Until the Start of Curfew...

"That's enough." Umbridge said as she marked the work she was checking over. "You may go."

I put down the quill, my words carved in my flesh were unreadable with the inflammation and redness that burned the edges of the marks.

I smiled. "Thank you, Miss Umbridge." I stood up.

She looked at me with a smile. "Should I scheduled another time?"

I smiled. "If that will satisfy your power hungry nature then go right ahead." I kept my hand as still as possible to lesson the pulling feeling that came from the skin moving.

Umbridge giggled. "Goodnight, Miss Solace."

I nodded. "Have a wonder night, Miss Umbridge." I turned to the door and walked out.
