3: A Sweet Swordsman

Tall. Super tall. That was all I thought as I approached what I assumed was the master of swords. He seemed to wield one with such eloquence and looked most comfortable with such a weapon. "Um, hi. I am Do Narae. You are ?"

The swordsman smiled as he kept shining the multiple swords & daggers. They were so clean I was worried if light reflected off of it I would be temporarily blind. "만나서 반가워요, 나래 씨. 저는 정윤호입니다." (Nice to meet you, Narae. I am Jeong Yunho.) I shook his hand that he offered to me with a sweet smile. "So, you are a swordsman." Yunho nodded as he expertly imbedded some daggers into the floorboards forming a Y shape.

"Were you always a part of this crew or did you somehow end up here ?" From his expression, Yunho seemed indebted to the crew of this ship. Possibly even the captain himself. "

(I came here because of my brother. Now we aren't biological siblings, but I had never let him go anywhere without me. Where my brother goes, I go.) I was intrigued. I had step siblings & even I avoided interacting with them because they demean the Drifter faith. So for Yunho to sacrifice what he wanted for his brother was very sweet. "Who is your brother ?"

Yunho pointed across the ship to another tall guy with hair that mimicked a flame. "That's him." I noticed that his brother seemed to be taking out his pent up energy on a punching bag. I noticed that they both had special daggers that were disguised as earring clips. Had the captain given all of his crew special gifts ? Yunho put a sword in my hand. "What do you want me to do with this ?"

Yunho smiled as he showed me how to hold the sword. "저는 검의 무게를 테스트하고 있었습니다. 나래 씨, 잘 잡으셨어요." (I was testing the weight of the sword. You held it well, Narae.) I smiled before he began guiding me how to use a sword, but he eventually gave me a different one. I am assuming because it was a heavier sword. "Do I make you all uncomfortable ? Seonghwa said I wasn't the first Drifter you've come across..."

Yunho sighed as he answered me truthfully. "Most Drifters do everything in their power to get off this ship. You are the first on to not do so..." He smiled once again as he noticed I wasn't fully convinced. "Narae, you are the only Drifter who seems willing to stay on this ship."

Was it something about the ship ? It was true that I haven't attempted to jump overboard & swim to shore. What was keeping me here ? I let Yunho get back to his chores as I approached the next member of the crew I needed to meet.
