When I got out of the Box, I saw someone. I didn't remember anything, but I remembered him. Not by name, but by face. I saw his shaggy blond hair glinting in the sun before I saw his face. I was introduced to everyone and before long I was on a tour with a boy named Alby and the blond haired boy. He introduced himself as Newt. I felt something. Something speical. My tour was stoped abruptly when screams came from one of the other buildings. Both Alby and Newt ran off towards the building in the center of what they called the Glade. I started wondering around and met some new people. All boys. There weren't even any girls in this place. One of the people I met was more friendly than the rest. His name was Chuck. When we went to sleep in the grass under the trees, I did the opposite of that. I lay awake for about a hour before I fell asleep. When I woke up, Newt was hanging over my head. I had a strange impulse to kiss him. I shook it off in half of a second and screamed instead.

"Bloody hell! You screamed loud. And like a girl." He said. The gladers around us had stirred but not that much. "Come with me." He took off. I got up and followed the limping boy.

We went over to a window in the wall and looked out. A light bulb came on illuminating a few memories. A griever was out there.

"What is that?" I asked trying not to seem like I knew everything on my second day.

"A griever." Newt said. "Stay out of the Maze and you'll be safe from them."

"Can I talk to you later?" I asked him without telling myself to say anything.

"Sure Tommy." He said not so sure.

When later came along, we went into the wooded area and sat down against some boulders.

"Newt, I know I just got here, but I feel something for you." I said , again not comanding myself to.

"I've remembered your name from the minute I woke up in the Box. I just thought it was nothing." Newt admitted. "Do you think it means anything?"

"I don't know. Do you feel anything?" I asked but before he could answer, he was kissing me.
