A Tough Decision

Third personDamian finished with his bath as he put on some spare clothing in the cupboards underneath the sink. He threw them on and hurried back to see how Marinette was doing.

He opened her door to see her lying in bed with Tikki sitting on her forehead. He closed the door which captured Tikki's attention. She flew right over to him explaining the situation with Marinette.

Tikki: She still has a fever and she's really tired and mentally drained.

Damian: I still don't know what could've caused this.

While they spoke to themselves, Marinette turned to face out of the window looking out into the distance. Sigh...My throat is so dry. Is Shadow Moth going to strike today? If he is then I can't be lying around in bed. But Damian won't let me leave and I still don't know where Luka is. Maybe I can call Chloe. I could...but I can't find my phone! She looked around and found it on her desk. Marinette took one last peek at Damian and Tikki before making my move.

She slowly and quietly got out of bed and went over to her desk but when she got there, it was gone. The f*ck... "Looking for this?" She groaned turning around to see Damian holding it. "What do you need it for?" he asked. She replied, "I would like to call Chloe or Luka. And it's my phone, hand it over." He shook his head taking out his phone calling someone. "Hey..- No, it's not like that..- It's Marinette..- Shut up!..- She wants to know where you are..- Ok, I'll tell her..- Don't Say That, Are You..Hello...Hello!? Tt."

He groaned walking over to her, "He said he's with Tsurugi on a date. He'll be back by tonight for the latest." He then handed Marinette her phone as she snatched it from him. She went back over to her bed and hid under the sheets but soon after there was pressure on it next to her. Light came under the covers as part of it was being lifted up. Damian then looked at her with a brow raised.

Marinette: Put it back down. I would like to rest and the light is too overbearing.

Damian: *rolls eyes* Whatever, Dracula. But you never said I couldn't join you.

He got under the covers with her and hugged her around her waist and nuzzled his face into her neck like a little puppy. Marinette let out a few giggles as his breath gave her tickles. "Hey, stop that!" she asked of him still giggling. She tried getting out of his grasp but he wasn't giving up nor letting her go. He finally stopped, laughing. "I'm glad you find this funny." Marinette snarled at him. "N-No, it's just, it's the first time you laughed like this."

She narrowed her eyes in confusion. "I don't get it.." He sighed with a grin. He pulled the covers off of them as he turned Marinette around to face him. "I guess I'm happy that I'm the one who made you laugh. I'm starting to get to know you better." Her eyes softened as she smiled in defeat. "Ok, you win.. I give up." His eyes widened, "What do you mean?" She sat up, "I've been trying to suppress my feelings towards you. I didn't want to look...weak."

He chuckled, "You didn't need to do that. You really have changed; you're even more beautiful, you're also an independent young woman, not to mention a part time super heroine of an entire city, furthermore earning money by doing the things you love. Name one of those things that made you look weak because I can't." She looked away blushing, "You're impossible, you know that?" He turned her head back to face him, "Yeah, I do, habibti." ~~~~~

Damian had left after getting a call from Luka saying he'll be home in a few minutes. He left a sleeping Marinette with her kwami and went back to the hotel. He closed the door then had Tikki lock it. A few minutes later, Luka had returned unlocking the door. He called on Marinette but heard nothing. As he was going up the stairs, he heard quiet noises and panting. He rushed up the stairs and rammed Marinette's door open.

His eyes widened in horror seeing her throwing up in a bucket Tikki had gotten her on the floor to the side of the bed. He rushed over to her and came to her aid. "Mari, Mari!! Hey.."~~~~~~~~~~

1 Hour laterMarinette finally opened her eyes to see everyone Damian, Luka, Kagami and Chloe sitting around her. She had a breathing mask on and needle in her hand with the necessary fluids (I don't know what they are called). Damian turned around and heavily exhaled. Everyone came up to her while she looked around confused.

Damian: Mari, you're ok...

Luka: I found you in your room throwing up. How are you feeling now?

Marinette: ...Tired...

Chloe: You look almost dead.

Kagami: Damian said you were fine except for a fever before he left. Minutes later, Luka arrived and saw you throwing up.

Marinette: ...Where's Tikki..?

Damian: She's over there with Alfred.

Tikki: Marinette, you're finally awake.

Marinette: Hey Tikki...Thanks for everything yesterday, I don't know what happened to me.

Tikki: Neither do we.

I may have a clue.

A voice presented itself by the window. Talia. She walked up to Marinette who simply watched her while everyone moved away from her. She was now next to the bed watching the weak girl closely. She brushed back her bangs as Damian watched her closely. "Oh don't worry my son, I'm not going to hurt our own. *chuckles* It's simple, she's turning into a human." Everyone's eyes widened at her statement.

Marinette didn't faze at all. Damian looked like he was about to faint. "What do you mean..she's turning human?" he asked shakily. Marinette looked plainly at the boy. "When will this transformation end?" she asked seriously watching the lady. "You have 24 hours to go. And also, under that time, if you choose to stay a vamp, you must take in blood. But the transformation back into a vamp from this state will be traumatisingly painful and may take as long as 3 days."

Marinette looked back at her fiancé as he stared right back at her. "It's your choice, Marinette." was the last thing Talia said before leaving.

Luka: She's right, It's your choice Mari.

Kagami: We'll respect your decision whatever you may choose.

Chloe: You'll always be Marinette no matter what shape or form you may take.

Dick: They're right blueberry.

Jason: I know we haven't known each other for that long but...I think you'll be the same girl with or without the fangs.

Tim: And don't let Damian force you to choose either.

Bruce: And I hate to be the one to say this, but Paris needs a superhero. Make your choice as quickly as possible.

Everyone left except for Damian who stayed back with Marinette. He sat on the edge of the bed quietly moping. "Are you just not going to say anything?" the girl asked. He turned around with tears in eyes which caught Marinette off guard. "Why are you..-" but he cut her off.

Damian: Mari, I want you to stay a vampire! I know it's selfish of me but...I always had the thought that we would stay together for an eternity! I know it's your decision but..that's just what I think.

Marinette: Damian, I honestly don't mind being a vampire, but in order to that I need to drink someone's blood. And for me to do that...I'll be breaking my promise to never drink of anyone's blood. And being human is fine with me as well. When I came here in Paris I found out a little bit more about my parents. They were originally humans, not vampires and they lived here in Paris. The league somehow manipulated them into joining their organisation. They were turned vampires.

Damian: So, you do want to be a human!?

Marinette: I never said that..-

Damian: That look on your face..you're considering it!

Marinette: Look I get why you're mad..but if you're worried about 'us' then you're shouting at me for no reason at all. I'll still be engaged to you, and we'll still be together but not in the same way. *sigh* I need some space to think.

Damian went silent but then got up and went to the door shutting it. Tikki sat on her lap with a worried look. "Marinette, I just want to say that...I'll still be here if you need me and I'll be by your side no matter what you choose to do." Marinette looked at her with a warm smile patting her head, "Thanks Tikki."

Should I stay a vampire...or become a human..? I honestly don't know which world I want to be a part of. But one thing remains the same, I need to defeat Gabriel Agreste, Shadow Moth's true identity, before he tears Paris apart trying to get the miraculouses. But in the state I'm in, I don't know how long I'd last... And speak of the devil and he appears... Another akuma attack and this one..seems to be the fight of a lifetime.

~ Hey you guys, for those of you who are reading this book but are not following me (which you should ;D), I announced that yesterday my entire country had a blackout and it only came back until midnight last night.

~ I'll try to make up for it somehow but until then, Bug Out!!
