You Know Nothing, Loki Laufeyson

08:01, 2 August 2022

Author's note: Not much to say here lol, but thank you for following along!

All you wanted was quiet, alone time. And now one of the voices you probably didn't want to hear at all, has interrupted you. For the last 3 years, you would know that voice anywhere, but you ignore Loki.

There's movement now out of the corner of your eye, and you can see the red 'locked' indicator light on Loki's power-restricting bracelet.

You still say nothing, pretending that he's not even there, and take another sip of water.

Loki clenches his fist and walks closer to you, "You had so much to say when we first met."

The fact that Loki remembers your first meeting catches your attention, but you don't let that show.

There's a few more seconds of silence, "You will answer me; I am a GOD AND a Prince, you dull creature!"

You finish your water, crush the bottle, and hold up your middle finger at Loki.

Loki wraps his hand around your finger, "You will watch yourself, mortal!"

You yank your finger from his grasp, "Quite frankly, I don't really care what you are!" You turn and start to walk away.

Loki pauses, "Why did you not tell Thor, Stark or anyone what I did to you that day?"

His tone has changed, which causes you to turn around, arms crossed, "Have I given any sign that I wish to continue talking?"

Loki matches your stance, "Well, considering a moment ago, you were completely silent, yes."

You roll your eyes and turn on your heel once more.

"Stark had said something about there being a last time, where you did not speak for nearly a month," Loki pauses once more. "Why?"

This time you freeze, but you quickly recover and try to suppress it with a laugh, "Why would I tell you?"

Loki shrugs it off, "Then answer my initial question."

You hesitate for a moment, studying Loki, but then you exhale, "You let me go that day."

Loki's eyes narrow, but he says nothing.

You take that as your cue to continue, "When your eyes changed. What I then saw...was the REAL you. And...YOU let me go."

"You do not know the real me!" Loki's tone turns defensive again.

"Correct," you maintain your composure, which shocks yourself honestly. "Nor do you know me. But, I do know what I saw happen to you, and I..."

Loki growls and interrupts your sentence, "I am NOT speaking of that in any form!"

So much for your composure, because now you match his frustration and volume, "And I am not speaking of my past either!"

"Then it appears we have reached and impasse," Loki says in a conclusion.

You laugh, "Oh, what a shame! That means our conversation has to end. I am SO disappointed!" The sarcasm was dripping off of your voice. Without another word or glance at Loki, you walk back inside, leaving him on the balcony.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following morning, you head to the main room for breakfast.

"Coffee, Y/N?" Tony asks with a hint of nervousness in his voice.

You sit and rest your elbows on the island, "Yea. Thanks." You see Wanda talking and smiling with Vision, who got his official name from Tony and Bruce upon returning to the tower.

"Hey! You're talking again!" Tony hands you the mug and tries, but fails, to hide his excitement.

You catch a glimpse of Loki as he comes in, "Yea. Something...annoyed me enough into speaking last night, so..."

Tony follows your gaze to Loki, "I'll kill him!" He storms towards him.

"No, no, no!" you stop in front of Tony, now between him and a surprised, confused Loki. "If that privilege goes to anyone, it'll be me. "

"I would very much like to see either of you mortals try," Loki takes a sip of his tea.

You turn completely to Loki now, "We may be mortals, but YOU are a moron!"

He places the mug down, "I beg your pardon! YOU are a.....!"

"It is WAY TOO EARLY for this!" Tony runs a hand over his face and downs his coffee.

"Hey! Moron and the fellow Mortal. Stop the flirting before my breakfast comes back up, yea?" Clint walks by on the way to training.

You and Loki stop talking instantly, "We are NOT flirting!"

Loki speaks at the same time as you, "I can assure you that I DETEST this human!"

Clint nods with a sarcastic, non-believing 'sure' expression, "And on that note." He and everyone else puts their plates into the sink or garbage, dispersing from the room.

"Don't worry, Moron, the DETESTING, is mutual," you fake smile and walk to the lab to get work done.
