You're Engaged to that Bitch?

(Pipers pov)We were helping heal Alec from the attack when his phone went off."Don't squirm." I tell him

"I'm not. It doesn't even hurt." Alec says to me

"No talking just healing." Izzy states and I walk with her into the other room, she puts it on speaker phone.

"Alec, I need you." Jace says through the phone

"It's Izzy and Piper. We need you. There's been an attack at the Institute." Izzy tells him

"An attack?" Thomas asks

"Valentine created a Forsaken that went through the wards." I tell them

"That's not possible, Piper. Nothing can get through the wards. They're warlock spells to defend against all Downworlders." Jace states

"Not this one. It had Seelie blood with angel properties. Jace, it went after Hodge and Alec." Izzy tells him

"Are they okay? Is Alec-" Jace asks concerned

"They're banged up, but they'll live. Hodge killed it. It was after the -" I say before I hear Clary through the phone cut me off

"The Cup." She says

"Izzy, I'll be there as soon as I can." Jace tells us then hangs up.

We had called Magnus and Ash in to fix the wards"Are the wards solid now? Nothing will get through?" Robert asks them

"Even our magic has limits. The wards won't hold off that Forsaken attack." Magnus tells us

"But our protections will slow them down." Ash states

"Extra time is priceless." Robert says

"No say that after you get my bill." Magnus states to him

"Lydia will take care of that." Robert tells us then walks off

"A Forsaken wound often needs a little warlock TLC." Magnus tells Alec, once again, forgetting that he is taken.

"May I? Uh, free of charge." Magnus offeres

"It's okay. I'm fine." Alec tells Magnus

"Magnus, my boyfriend, remember?" I say to him

"Right of course..I forgot again. And I should find this Lydia person. Payment upfront is just smart business. Where might I find her?" Magnus asks us

"I haven't seen her. But if I do, I'll send her your way." Alec tells him and he walks off, Ash was chuckling about this whole thing.

"Oh shush Ash, one day you'll see some girl flirting with Jace and you'll rip their face off." I tell her, she blushes insanely and glares at me. I see a Seelie walk in with guards around him.

"Meliorn? What are you doing here?" Izzy asks him walking up.

"The Clave called me in for some kind of conference." Meliorn tells her, Izz hugs him.

"I'm so happy to see you." Izzy tells him

Spare me. Your fire message clearly stated you never wanted to see me again." Meliorn says to her pulling away.

"My family-" Izzy starts

"Despises Downworlders? That's common knowledge." Meliorn finishes

"That's not true. And even if it were, I'm not like that." Izzy says defensively.

"I'm not here to talk about us. I believe that's your Clave envoy." Meliorn states

"Isabelle, please step aside." Lydia tells her, Ashlynn and I walk down beside Izzy."Meliorn, the Clave has ordered that you be placed under arrest." Lydia tells them.

"What?" Meliorn says confused

"What for?" Izzy asks

"Soliciting state secrets from a Shadowhunter on behalf of Valentine Morgenstern. Guards." Lydia states, the guards grab him and take him off.

"Have you lost your mind?" Izzy asks walking closer to her.

"Me? You're lucky you weren't arrested along with him." Lydia says

"What are you talking about?" Izzy asks

"It's our understanding that your long-standing relationship with the Seelie, Meliorn, may have led to the disclosure of state secrets." Lydia tells her

"What? No! Meliorn told me how to get into the Hotel DuMort so that we could save a mundane." Izzy says

"And you told him nothing in return? Nobody is blaming you for the attack.Meliorn and the Seelies were likely working with Valentine all along." Lydia tells us

"Valentine has been murdering Downworlders and draining their bodies for months. He probably killed those Seelie scouts and used their blood" Izzy says, Ash looks at me confirming everything Izzy just said.

"Do you have proof?" Lydia asks

"Do you?" Izzy states

I have orders. That's all. I never wanted any of this." Lydia says, I roll my eyes.

"I don't believe you for a second." Izzy tells her.

We were in the training room, Ash and I were just watching Izzy explode on Alec, who was training.

"She calls Meliorn in and arrests him, then acts like it's all out of her hands." Izzy rants to Alec, she stops for a moment, noticing how hard Alec is hitting the bag.

"You're gonna hurt yourself." Izzy tells him

"Alec seriously, you are." I add

"I'm fine, Piper, Izzy. It was the Clave that gave the order, not Lydia." Alec tells us

"Are you sure about that?" Izzy asks, Jace arrives with no Thomas or Clary, suprise suprise.

"Hey. You all right?" Jace asks Alec

"I'm fine." Alec says.

"I just spoke to Robert and Maryse. They're being sent back to Idris." Jace tells us

"What?" Izzy exclaims

"Yeah." Jace says, Ash walks over to him and grabs his hand for comfort, and he accepts her hand. I give them a weird look. Ash mouths that she'll explain later.

"Another "order" from Lydia?" Izzy states

"Who's Lydia?" Jace asks, I face palm and Izzy and I link arms.

"She's in charge of the Institute." I tell him

"She's what?" Jace exclaims

"Temporarily." Alec corrected

"And now she's convinced the Clave that Mom and Dad aren't doing their job?" Izzy says, I give her a look of simpathy.

"Well, maybe they aren't. The Institute was under their control when the Forsaken got in." Alec says to us, I give him a look, did he really think that?

"What are you talking about?" Jace asks

"Mom and Dad were members of the Circle." Alec tells them

"What? They don't have Circle runes." Izzy says confused

"That's because they made a deal with the Clave prior to the Uprising. In exchange for their cooperation, they were pardoned." Alec explains

"You're questioning their loyalty?" Izzy asks

"Valentine is back. The Circle is rising.They're under suspicion." Alec says to us

"No way. Robert and Maryse took me in. They raised me as one of their own. I know what kind of people they are." Jace states, I can tell he's getting pissed at Alec, Ash moves closer to him and he seems to calm down.

"Are you sure? They lied to us. For years, they've been telling us how to act. That we have to uphold the Lightwood name. Well, they're the ones who tarnished it. They're hypocrites." Alec tells us as Lydia walks in all smug like.

"You must be Jace Wayland. Lydia Branwell. You're quite the legend back in Idris." Lydia says and holds out her hand, Jace ignores her.

"Don't believe everything you hear." Jace says

"Did you tell them?" Lydia asks grabbing Alec's hand, I get ready to slap a bitch.

"Tell us what?" Izzy growls basically.

"Lydia and I are engaged." Alec tells us, I froze, I didn't know what to do. My boyfriend, engaged, to be married, to that Bitch.

"We're getting married." Lydia tells us

"You're not serious." Jace says, Ash looks like she's ready to beat the pulp out of Alec

"You were supposed to tell them no. It's your life to ruin." Izzy tells him and is about to storm off but stops.

"You're engaged to that Bitch?" I exclaim, Alec freezes, I think he forgot I was still here. "We're you going to actually break up with me in private before announcing it or were you going to do it in front of a crowd just to embarrass me more asshole. I can't believe you!" I yell and run off, Izzy follows me. I enter my room and just sit there, I don't know what to say. Izzy runs in and hugs me tightly. Ash enters the room as well, she goes on the other side of me and hugs me as well.

"Piper I'm so sorry, it completely slipped my mind that my asshole of a brother was still technically your boyfriend." Izzy tells me, I sniffle, I didn't even realize a started crying until now.

"Do you want me to go beat him up because I can totally so that. Izzy would you mind helping?" Ash asks

"I'd be delighted to help." She replies

"No guys, it's okay. I'm okay. I'll get over it, that asshole doesn't deserve my tears at the moment." I tell them, I'm hurt but I'll put on a smile to help with anything. My eyes started to turn green, I was so angry I could lose control of the Wolf.

"Whoa Piper." Ashlynn comments, pointing out my eyes. Izzy gasps

"Ya about these. So because of my dad, I'm part wolf." I tell them, they only hug me tighter."I had just lost control for a moment. But I'll be fine, with everything." I tell them

"You sure?" Izzy asks me.

"We can still beat him up if needed." Ash reminds me. I nod.

"I'll be okay guys really. Now let's go see what's going on." I tell them.

We walk over to see Meliorn in the room about to be interagated."This is insane. We have to put a stop to this." Izzy exclaims

"Yeah, well, enjoy Portaling back to Idris with Mom and Dad." Alec tells her, I'm still pissed off at him but I'll be civel, or passive agressive.

"Meliorn is here because of me." Izzy tells us.

"Alec's right. There's nothing we can do to stop this interrogation." Jace says to us, I give him a look.

"You're on Alec's side now?" Izzy asks annoyed

'We swore to protect each other, of course he's on my side." Alec states

"I'm not picking sides. Jace Wayland is Switzerland." I chuckle at that and so does Ashlynn"We have got to find Valentine. Let's let this play out, Izzy. Meliorn might have some important information." Jace says as the interagation starts.

"Forensics don't lie. Tell me what you know about the blood in the Forsaken." Lydia asks

"Have you considered that the blood in the Forsaken came from our dead scouts? Scouts sent to help you hunt for Valentine. Why do you think we would side with a murderer?" Meliorn says

"Seelies always play both sides." Lydia answers

"You should talk to your own people about playing sides." Meliorn tells her.

"Excuse me?"

"You have no idea what I'm talking about, do you? If only Shadowhunters had a better relationship with us Downworlders, you'd know that Valentine's daughter has the Cup." Meliorn states to her.

"Still think we should let this play out?" Izzy asks us.

Within minutes Shadowhunters were searching Clary's room for the cup, they were going through her clothes.

"I'm pretty sure that's not the cup you're looking for." Jace tells them

"Give me a break, Wayland. I'm just trying to do my job." Raj states

"Alec, call this off now." I tell him

"We can't call it off. We have to find the Mortal Cup." Lydia tells us, God I hate her

"It's all clear." Raj tells Lydia

"Of course it is." Jace states

"It's not here. Let's keep looking." Lydia tells her crew.

"What is going on with you?" Jace asks

"Look, Jace, we have to turn over the Cup." Alec tells him

"Alec, Clarys risked everything to find it." Jace states

"And we've risked everything for her.Either she gives the Cup to Lydia, or I'll do it myself." Alec says

"I'll bring her back. But, please, let Clary be the one to give the Cup to the Clave. We owe her that much." Jace says

"It's the right call. You'll see." Alec says and leaves. Jace took a photo then called someone.

"What are you doing Jace?" I ask him, he shushes me."Draw it. Now. It's a Blocking rune. It prevents anyone from finding you using Shadowhunter tracking." He says to Clary and Thomas I'm assuming.

"Clary, the Clave heard you had the Cup. They think you're working with Valentine. It will be. You need to get to someplace safe. Someplace the Clave would never look. I'll find you. Thomas don't leave her side." Jace says and hangs up.

I was in the main room with Izzy, Ash had to go, when Meliorn was being escorted by guards.

"Where are you taking him?" Izzy asks Lydia

"To a holding cell. And a guard unit will transport him to the Silent Brothers." Lydia tells us

"You can't do that!" Izzy exclaimed

"It's not our decision, Isabelle. The Clave made the order." Alec tells us when Jace walks up all three of us following Alec and Lydia.

"That could be a death sentence to a Downworlder." Jace tells them

"Are you trying to start a war with them? Meliorn's told you everything he knows." Izzy says

"You don't know that. Maybe we haven't asked the right questions. Seelies often skirt the truth. If he has information on another terrorist attack, it is our responsibility to get it." Lydia claims

"Let me talk to him." Izzy suggests

"That wasn't exactly helpful in the past." Lydia states

"But he may not know anything. Alec, this is going too far." Jace tells Alec

"We don't have a choice." Alec says

"And neither do we." Jace says so Ash and I,

"Let me get this straight. You need Alec's stele to open the safe, and you want me and Piper to steal it from him?" Ashlynn asks

"We prefer the word "borrow." Without his knowledge." Izzy tells us

"No. No can do. Not happening." I say

"Sorry, if Piper won't I won't." She says

"Piper, Ash, ever since Alec found out our parents were in the Circle, he's been messed up. He can't see the big picture." Jace tells us

"If the Clave is willing to subject Meliorn to the Silent Brothers, if they're willing to go this far what do you think will happen if they get the Cup? This affects everyone." Izzy says to us, winning me over

"Help us get into that safe. Help us stop this." Jace begs us

"Fine, I'll help. But Alec can never and I mean never, know." I tell them

"That's a given." Jace states

"If we're going to do this there's no turning back." Ashlynn tells us.

Ash went outside the room he was in, made a little hole and transported the stele to Jace. We waited to receive a text from Jace when I got it

"Their finished." I tell her, she transports the stele back into the room and we both leave. I was getting worried that I would have to distract Alec.

We meet Jace and Izzy outside and head over to the hotel DuMort. When we get there my dad's outside. I hug him and Clary, Thomas and Simon come out

"So this is your safe hideout, huh?" Jace asked her

"Well, you think the Clave was gonna look here?" Thomas replied

"Can we please focus on the matter at hand? Unless no one here cares that the Clave is planning on murdering Meliorn" Izzy states

"What?" Clary yells

"They think Meliorn has more information on Valentine and the attack than he's saying." Jace explains

"They're taking him to the Silent Brothers." Izzy states

"We have to stop them!" Clary says

"That's the plan, Clary. Rescue and recovery." Jace tells Clary and Thomas

"We get him from the guards, in and out, no one gets hurt." Izzy tells them

"You want us to go up against the Silent Brothers, and an elite Shadowhunter guard unit?" Clary asks

"Without any backup?" My dad asks

"Pretty much sums it up, yeah." Jace tells them

"Is Alec coming?" Clary asks, we all look at each other before I say something.

"No. Not this time." I tell her

"If they're doing this to Seelies, no Downworlder is safe. But we can't go in alone, not if we don't want to be detected." Clary tells us

"My pack will track the unit, create a distraction." Luke suggests

"I would suggest vampires, but I doubt they'll cooperate." Simon tells us

"As much as I hate to agree with Simon, vamps aren't exactly team players." Jace says to us

"Let me talk to Raphael. I think I can persuade him." Clary says.

"We're offering an alliance with the Seelies." Clary tells Raphael's clan

"And the werewolves." My dad sighs

"Why should we believe you? You killed our people. You violated our home." Raphael states

"You kidnapped a mundane, remember?" Jace reminds them

"That was me." Simon says

"Look you were just following Camille's orders..She violated the Accords. You are a different kind of leader. We are a new generation of Shadowhunters. We believe everyone can be equal. But we have to work together to stop Valentine. And to ensure the Clave doesn't repeat past mistakes. What do you say?" Clary persuades them

"This decision requires a consensus." Raphael tells us

"I vote yes." Simon says

"Well, well, well, baby's first words." Raphael replies

"Don't make me regret them." Simon says

"If our newest member pledges his loyalty to his new leader and joins our clan we'll all stand beside you." Raphael offers

"Simon's not a pawn." Clary tells him

"No I'm not. But I accept your deal." Simon says

"Simon, what are you doing?" Clary asks

"Whatever it takes to protect the Downworld. It's my world now." Simon tells her

"Then we're in." Raphael says

We all are walking into the City of Bones, werewolfs and vampires."This does not look like the City of Bones." Clary says to Thomas

"This is the Downworlders entrance." Thomas tells her

"The City of Bones has a service entrance. Perfect!" Clary says

"I hope I have better luck here than I did last time. I'm just saying." Simon tells us

"Everyone knows what to do?" Clary asks

"Text when you're in position." Jace tells them, Raphael whistles

"Stay. Good dog." Raphael says to my dad

"Bite me." Dad says

"Roll over." Raphael says

"Play dead." Dad says

"Boom!" Simon says and gives my dad a high five. A werewolf runs into Simon and the vamps are ready to pounce before we break it up.

"Hey, enough! Enough! All our lives are at stake! It's time we put aside our differences, and work together! Tonight we're all Downworlders.Luke? Raphael?" Clary tells us.

"I guess I should expect people to hate me for who I am now. I'll get used to it." Simon says as the werewolfs and vamps get into position

"Never get used to it. You hear me?" Clary tells him

"Let's do this." Izzy tells us.

"Before we go there's something you all should know. I'm part werewolf." I tell everyone."Since my dad had me after he turned and my mom was a Shadowhunter. I still am a Shadowhunter but I can shift into a wolf." I tell them. The girls hug me.

"Now that Pipers gotten that out of the way, let's go." And I get into position.

(Ashlynn's pov)Jace was getting into position and I was taking the high ground before I see Alec leading the group.

"Uhh Jace?" I call down

"Ya Ash everything good?" He asks me I portal down and show him.

"Lydia must've sent Alec to lead the mission." I explain

"Damn it Alec." Jace curses.

"Just say the word, and we'll call the whole thing off." I tell him

"No, there's no turning back now.So whatever happens, follow my lead."Jace says to me. I nod and get back up into position

"Not too late to turn back." Meliorn tells him as they walk into the room

"Quiet. I won't tell you again." Alec says, he unlocks the entrance when Clary comes out of position

"Alec." Clary yells, he turns and Jace I Blocking his entrance.

"You told me you were taking Clary back to the Institute. You lied to me." Alec yells

"I did what needed to be done." Jace tells him

"Alec, the Clave has gone too far. You have to see that. Please, just let Meliorn go." Clary pleads

"I have my orders." Alec tells her

"You and your damn orders. Who cares about orders?" Clary yells

"See? That's how little you know about being a Shadowhunter. You couldn't possibly understand" Alec tells her

"It's you that doesn't understand, Alec.Not this time." Jace states to him Alec tries to walk in

"I'm really sorry." Jace says and tackles Alec

"Clary, Meliorn, go, now." Jace yells as Clary runs out with him. I follow for protection when three Shadowhunters run up and are about to kill Clary and Meliorn when I use my magic to move them away and knock them out.

"You guys alright?" I ask them, they both nod and continue on their path while I wait a minute. I heard Jace yelling.

"Do it. Do it! I don't wanna be alive if we're on different sides, Alec. Come with me. We'll fight Valentine the right way together." Jace yells

"If we do that we'll be considered traitors like Mom and Dad." Alec tells him

"I'm begging you, my parabatai my brother. Please, Alec, come with me." Jace begs

"No." Alec tells him, I hear footsteps coming towards me and I see Jace in tears.

"Come here Jace." I tell him, I hug him while he cries into my arms."Come on Jace let's get back." I tell him and bring him back.

"Clary, we have to go. Meliorn is a wanted man, we have to get him back to the Seelie court where he's protected." Thomas tells her as we walk through the DuMort.

"I wish you could come with us." Clary says

"I've got a lot of stuff to work on here.Like controlling my murderous tendencies. We'll see each other soon." Simon tells her

"Before you know it. Simon, listen, I-" Clary starts

"What's done is done. I'm a vampire and you're a Shadowhunter. Maybe that's supposed to mean something, but you're still you. And I'm still me. Sort of. Enough anyway." Simon says

"Simon." Clary says and hugs him."Let's work up to hugging because I haven't had dinner yet." Simon tells her

"Sorry." Clary admits.

"It's okay." Simon tells her.

"Goodbye, Simon." Clary waves

We walk outside to see Piper, Izzy and Meliorn."I underestimated you."Meliorn says

"Is that a thank you?" Izzy asks

"In the Seelie world, it is." Meliorn confirms

"I hate to break up this reunion, Izzy, but we have to go." Jace tells her.

"You're in good hands. I need to get back to the Institute, see what hell has broken loose. Try and talk some sense into Alec. Take care of him." Izzy tells us

"I'll go with you Iz, maybe I can help talk some sense into Alec." Piper says.

"Are you sure you're up for it Pipes?" I ask her.

"Ya I can manage." She tells me.

"We will." Clary says, referring to taking care of him. They run off and Meliorn walks up.

"Isabelle told me it was your idea to rally the Downworlders. That you spearheaded my rescue." Meliorn says to her

"Don't give me too much credit. Isabelle made this happen. We just helped." Clary tells him

"She's being modest. You're a Shadowhunter now." Jace tells her.

"I've been surprised by more than one Shadowhunter tonight. You risked everything to unite us." Meliorn says

"Right after you tried to sell her out." Jace reminds him

"Not my finest moment." Meliorn tells her

"I also want to thank you Ashlynn, you saved my life from those Shadowhunters back there and for that i owe you a life debt." He tells me

"It's really no problem." I tell him

"Which is why I'm offering you two a gift for your sacrifice. If you're ready I can help you find your father Clary." Meliorn tells us.
