(Pipers pov)"Wait" Alec whispers and pulls me into a soft kiss, it was sweet and kind like him and perfect, I kissed him back and we pulled apart.

"Wow" I whispered and all he did was nod,

"I've liked you since the day I met you, and I'd be damned if I let you be with anyone else, so would you be my girlfriend?" I smile widely and nod

"Of course Alec, how could I not?" I smile and he pecks my lips. Smiling wider then I've ever seen him smile since I met him.

"I have to get back to my Mom, talk later?" I nod and kiss his cheek as he walked out

"Wow Piper who would've guessed you would've finally admitted your feelings" Ashlynn smirks with Jace beside her.

"Took you two long enough" Jace scoffed, I smirked at Ashlynn

"Now it's just up to you" I said as she glared at me, Jace looked very confused at her glare when Clary walked in with Thomas behind.

"I know where the cup is" Clary stated,

"Come again?" Jace asked

"The tarrot cards, My mom, she must have painted them years ago, but the Mortal Cup has to be hidden inside the Ace of Cups. The card looks exactly like it." Clary says. We all look at each other knowing Dot is gone.

"Wait, why aren't you guys happy about this? All we have to do is find Dot." Clary mumbles the last part

"If Dot had the cards when she was taken, we don't have much time. If Valentine gets his hands on the Cup-" Thomas starts and Magnus cuts him off

"We know. If Valentine started creating Shadowhunters or gained control of demons, it'd be like Beyonce riding on a dinosaur through Times Square. People would notice." Magnus states

"But he can control demons. I've seen it." Clary questions

"Mmm, paying off a few demons is easy, especially since they rarely survive long enough to collect." Ashlynn states

"Still waiting on Valentine's thank-you card." Jace quips

"Opening the gates of hell that's a little more tricky." Magnus finishes, ignoring Jaces little quip.

"Valentine doesn't have the cards. I do. They're in my desk back at the precinct. When Clary went missing, I went to the loft and I cleared everything out, 'cause I didn't want the Circle to track her." Luke says as he walks in.

"That's great. This should be easy." Clary says

"Hmm, that's what General Custer said." I say

"Piper is right. Valentine has spies everywhere, even in the NYPD.  We have to be discreet." Luke states

"Discreet? You look like something out of The Mummy movie." I say, Ash chuckles

"We'll go in the morning. Werewolf healing, remember? This is nothing a couple of hours of beauty sleep can't fix." Luke states as he walked out of the room.

"It'll be fine, we got this" Thomas says as him and Clary leave. Probably to go flirt. Ash mutters something about helping Luke with the healing process walks off. Me and Jace are now alone.

"So you and my Parabatai together huh?" Jace smirks and I roll my eyes.

"Oh please next thing you know Clary and Thomas will be dating then we'll just be waiting on you to confess your feeling for Ashlynn." I snapped, he basically froze, apparently he thinks I'm dumb and don't clue in on how he acts.

"You know?" He asks,

"Obviously I'm not dumb, before you ask no Ash doesn't know, but she should know. Thomas is probably gonna confess today or tomorrow so you should." I say as Jace rolled his eyes.

"There is no way Thomas is gonna confess to Clary today or tomorrow, maybe after 24 hours, but its probably gonna be Clary who confesses anyway" Jace disagreed.

"Wanna bet? If within 24 hours Thomas or Clary make any sort of moves that are basically confessing then you have to confess your feelings for Ashlynn." I state

"And when I win what do I get out of this?" Jace asks

"I don't know come up with something" I snap back.

"Huh, how about this, if I win, you have to let me tell the entire institute something that's not true but embarrassing about you and you can't tell them it was a lie for 24 hours." Jace says smirking

"Oh you're so on Wayland" I said as we shook hands.

I couldn't sleep, I was to anxious about losing the Cup and winning the bet I couldn't focus, Izzy can help. I pulled out my phone and called her.

"Hey Piper great timing I need to talk to you" Izzy says,

"What about?"

"Well I'm worried, Alec has been taking a lot of the family heat and my mom doesn't trust me. She doesn't see me as a real shadowhunter."

"Oh Izzy, if your mom doesn't see you for the amazing shadowhunter you are then it's her stupidity. And don't worry about trying to take the heat. You have your own crap from your parents to worry about. Alecs strong, he can handle it" I tell her, I hear her sigh and I know that I'm going to see a different Izzy.

"Speaking of Alec, he came back from Magnus' very happy, mind filling me in?" She asks through the phone,

"Uh well Alec asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes?" I say unsure of what will happen next. Next thing I knew, Izzy was squealing through the phone.

"I knew it, I knew it! I knew you liked eachother!" She repeated still squealing.

"Okay, okay. I know it's really exciting but you need to calm down it's busting me ear drum."

"Fine, hey get some sleep I'll see you tomorrow," she said

"Izzy I actually can't sleep, we know where the cup is and we are going to get it in the morning. But I'm worried, what if something goes wrong? What if we lose it?"

"Piper I know for a fact you guys will bring it back to the institute, and if you need help just ring and me and Alec will be there." She reassures me.

"Alright, thanks Iz I needed that, now I'm gonna get some sleep. Night"

"Night"

"All right, cards are on my desk. It shouldn't take long." Dad says as Clary, Thomas, Jace, Luke and I arrive at the station.

"All right." Jace said as dad stopped his movements towards the station.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. It'll be easier to avoid unnecessary attention if I do this alone." My dad says

"We'll wait here." Clary says stopping both boys as Luke went in.

"It sounded boring anyway." Jace mumbled. We waited for my dad to come back but it was taking a bit.

"I've got a bad feeling about this. What is taking him so long?" I say

"I know a way we could find out. Just go in and see for ourselves." Jace says

"Luke told us to stay put, so that's what we're gonna do." Clary says as her phone rings "That's probably him now." I glanced up to the window and saw my dad being taken by some people away from the location of his desk

"I doubt it. Just so I'm clear, he did mention something about trying to avoid attention, right? From the looks of it, he's doing a terrible job." Thomas says

"Circle members?" Clary asks and I shake my head along with Jace

"No, mundanes. Internal affairs officers." Jace said

"You can tell all that just by looking at them?" She asks questioning his statement

"I can tell all that by reading their badges." I say rolling my eyes at my step sister. Jace showed the rune we were using.

"Better than binoculars. Luke had his chance." Jace said

"Yeah." I say

"Let's go." Thomas said as we entered.

We glamored ourselves then entered the room that Luke was bein held in.

"You want a coffee or anything?" The dude asked as we walked in, my dad looked at us.

"Garroway. Coffee?" The man asked again

"No. No, I'm good." My dad responds looking at me

"Suit yourself." The man said and closed the door. My dad grabbed a tissue and fake sneezed while saying

"Camera." Thomas turned off the camera.

"Luke, what is going on?" Clary asked

"I think I'm about to be the prime suspect in a murder investigation." My dad says, i sigh

"What do we do?" I ask

"Get the cards. In my desk, bottom drawer." Dad says,

"All right." Jace says as he is about to walk out"Whoa, whoa, whoa. You can't glamour yourselves. I'm not the only Downworlder on the force, and we don't know who's working for Valentine. If anybody spots you" dad said

"We'd be leading them right to the Mortal Cup." I say

"Exactly. Better to assume that everybody has the Sight than gamble that they don't." Dad says, the door was unlocked

"Luke" Clary says

"I can handle myself." My dad said.

"Hey, what happened to the camera?" The guy asked as we left, I vividly heard my dad respond with

"I've asked the same thing for years."

We arrived in a small closet to deglamour.

"Really? In here?" Jace asked

"Why not?" Thomas questions

"There's got to be a better place." Jace said

"Agreed" I state.

"No, here's good." Clary says

"Ow!" I say as Thomas ran into me.

"All right." Jace said as him and I deglamoured

"You need help with that?" Thomas asked as he deglamoured

"I can deglamourize myself, Thomas.

"It's "deglamour." I corrected

"Whatever." Clary said

"The cards?" She asked

"Right. How exactly are we gonna get them? I doubt we can make it out of this closet without drawing attention, let alone Luke's desk and you are covered in runes." Jace says.

"Don't worry. I've got a plan." She states

"A good plan this time?" Jace asked as Thomas smacked his chest

"Hey give her a break she's new to this" he said

"90%. Just follow my lead. Oh, and I apologize." Clary says to Jace and Thomas

"Apologize for what?" Jace asked

"The other 10%." She said slyly. The boys walked behind us as I whispered to Clary

"What's the plan?"

"I'm not sure, we could easily get to the desk cause we're Luke's family but them on the other hand not so much." She mumbles

"Okay, so we can pretend they're our boyfriends, Jace cheated on you and he keeps following you while Thomas keeps following me cause I dumped him" I mumble back to her.

"That works" she says. We walk into the room and she froze, she turned around

"You son of a bitch!"she said to Jace as she slapped him across the face

"Oh!" Jace gasped

"Stop following us!" I yelled at both of them.

"Hey, what happened to being discreet Hmm?" Thomas whispered

Wait, what did you say? You cheated on my baby sister?" I yelled

"I Huh? I did not." Jace responded as the police held both of he boys back.

"And you, I dumped you and you're upset i get it, but it didn't work out. So stop following me around." I yelled at Thomas as Clary and I walked over to my dads desk and she went through the drawers.

"You will never see me at your crappy apartment again." Clary yelled

"That girl means nothing to me. Nothing." Jace responded.

"Are those the boyfriends that I heard so much about?" Captain Vargas asked us

"Nope, not anymore. " I say

"Hi." Jace said and waved to her.

"I'm dumping him. And Piper already dumped Thomas. Where is all of Luke's stuff?" Clary asked

"IA took everything. What are you looking for?" Vargas asked

"I, uh, I lost a house key and Piper left hers at home. Luke normally keeps a spare in his desk, so is there any way I can get it?" Clary says coming up with somethin on the spot.

"Uh, not till he's cleared." Vargas states

"Cleared? Of, of what?" I ask

"Oh, don't worry about it. We'll get it handled." Captain said

"Oh." I say

"Clary, I'm sorry. I apologize. I just want you to know it only happened, like two or It just happened a couple of times, and I am totally-" Jace said going along with our story

"Shut up." Clary, Vargas and I said cutting him off.

"Babe, come on."

"Listen, you don't get to call her "babe," okay? In fact, you don't get to call her at all. Clary's done with you. You got it? Take them out." Vargas commanded

"I have rights." Jace and Thomas yell as they were being dragged out.

"Perhaps it's for the best? Oh, matching tattoos. That's Big red flag." Captain Vargas states "Oh." Clary chuckled "This, It's nothing." Clary says

"Don't worry about it. I get it. You always fall for the bad boys, right? Oh, is that just me?" Vargas asks

"Uh, right, right." I said chuckling

"Uh we really need that key."

"I'm sorry, Clary, Piper, but IA has all of Luke's things in the evidence vault upstairs." Vargas states

"Oh." I say, we've gotten the information we needed, we know where it is now.

"Maybe I can help you find the one you lost. Did you check your bag?" Vargas asked

"Oh, my God! You're totally right. Thank you so much." Clary says

"Did you seriously not check your bag Clary, we just completely wasted the captain's time with something that wasn't even lost" I state so we don't look suspicious, Clary faked looking sheepish

"Its no problem girls" Vargas reassured

"Bye." We waved and walked out.

"You know what? I'm gonna bring Alec with me next time. I don't think he's ever slapped me in the face." Jace said as we walked outside to where Jace and Thomas were waiting.

I'm sorry, I panicked." Clary said as I chuckled at the fact Jace got slapped.

"Someone call for backup?" Alec asked as him and Izzy walked up. I hugged my boyfriend then my Parabatai.

"Yeah. What took you guys so long?" Thomas asked

"Funny, I was gonna ask you the same thing." Alec snapped at Thomas and Jace

"It's complicated. We found the Cup." I said

"Wait really?" Alec asked

"Yeah, but then we lost it. We have to sneak back in the precinct to get it." Clary says

"This is a disaster." Alec commented

'Hey, demon pox is a disaster. This is an inconvenience. We just need a plan. That's all." Thomas said

"What about a glamour?" Izzy asked

"We tried that. Anyone working with Valentine will see right through it." Jace states

"Can we ask Ash or Magnus Bane to portal us inside?" Thomas asked

"No." Jace said

"That'd be awkward." I commented, as Jace gave me a glare.

" Ash and Magnus can only portal us to places they've been to before." Izzy explained. Clary phone rang.

"Not again. Just give me a second. Simon, this is really not a good time. Simon, are you okay? Simon, seriously, what's going on? Simon, remember that time you thought you had the bird flu? Okay, just stay off the Internet and you'll be fine." Clary said talking to Simon as Jace walked over and took Clarys phone

"Hey" she exclaimed.

"Simon's little problem can wait. I've got a great plan." Jace states. I scoff

"Oh, there's a first." I state as Jace glares at me.

"Just follow my lead. Oh, and don't worry, in my plan, no one gets slapped." Jace states.

Thomas went with Jace and Clary while I stayed with Alec and Isabelle to be the distraction and turn off the power.

"Okay, I'm guessing you're the distraction?" Alec asks

"Nope. I've decided to grow up, remember? No more distracting for me. Besides, I don't think I'm her type." Izzy commented, referring to the women at the information booth.

"Oh, crap." Alec says

"Don't worry, it's good practice." Izzy reassures him. We both looked at her confused

"Huh?" Alec asks

"You know, for asking Piper on a date." Izzy laughs

"Right here you know" I comment as Izzy chuckles and starts unbuttoning Alecs shirt.

"What are you what are you doing?" Alec stutters confused

"Unbuttoning your shirt. What's it look like I'm doing?" Izzy comments

"Izzy, this is not really my department. Alec states, Izzy sighs

"Come on. You do this sort of stuff all the time." Izzy says

"You do, I don't." Alec tells her

"It's easy. Come on." She pushes Alec.

"He's totally gonna screw it up isn't he?" I ask and Izzy just nods.

"Hey." Alec says to her

"Can I help you?" The worker asks

"Yeah, um. You come here often?" Alec said smirking, I face palmed.

"I work here. What can I help you with?" She said and gave him a flat look

"Right, um Right, right, right, yeah, um Yeah, I'm just I'm looking for some information." Alec said as i looked to Izzy

"I'm gonna go save him" she nodded as I walked over.

"Hey babe did you get the information I was asking about?" I ask Alec

"Uh ya i was just asking about it, Oh, look" Alec said as he knocked over some water trying to reach for the brochures.

"Oh, wow. I'm so sorry. Let me just get that." Alec says while trying to help clean up the mess along with me

"That's not I'm so sorry. That's such a mess." Alec says as i help him and flick the badge to Izzy

"Oh my gosh he's such a clutz" i say

"Let me clean that up. Uh, it's not working. Okay." Alec says as she shooed us off

"Here let me. No, I got it. I got it. Just go. Go." She tells us

"You sure?" I ask"Go." She tells us obviously annoyed

"Thank you so much." Alec says and grabs some brochures as we leave and wait outside.

We were waiting with Izzy for Jace, Thomas and Clary to get back when they walked up.

"Did you get it?" I asked

"Theoretically." Clary states as me and Alec look at eachother worried.

"Theoretically?" Alec asks as I sigh

"Yeah." Thomas says taking Clarys side

"I found the card. I just have to figure out how I reached into my notebook before. It's - It's not an exact science." Clary states.

"Can't you just pull the Cup out?" Alec asks confused of why she cant do it

"I can, theoretically. I just It's not as easy as it looks, Alec." Clary snaps annoyed wth us questioning her.

"Listen, you two can discuss theories as much as you want when we get back to the Institute. But right now, considering we just stole from the cops, I suggest we get home. " Jace says as we start walking.

"Guys" my parabatai says as the necklace starts pulsing. "I think the mundanes might be the least of our worries." She says looking around

"Well, at least we know the demon necklace works." Alec states

"Never a dull day. Let's go." Jace says as we try to leave.

"Guys, slow down." Clary says as we continue walking. I look back at her to see her run into a lady

"Oh, I am so sorry." Clary says as she goes to pick up the bag, it was a demon.

"Jace, demon" I say to him as we go back to the demon roaring at Clary

"Grandma." Jace says as he kills the demon who's partly exposed.

'What the hell?" Clary says

"Language. Not in front of Grandma." Jace says as i snicker at his comment.

"Weren't you raised better to respect your elders?" I ask her as she glares at me not being amused.

"How did it find us?" I ask

"I don't know, but she brought friends." Thomas says as a few more demons got out of cars.

"How can you tell?" Clary asks as we start to walk.

"It's like seeing through a glamour. You just got to pay attention to the details." Thomas tells her.

"But I can't see anything." Clary states frustrated

"Behind us." Izzy says

"I-I still can't see them. Okay, there's too many people." Clary says

"I don't say this often, but I agree with Clary. We gotta get out of here." Alec agrees

"Hey, this way!" Clary said as we run out and around the back of the building, we come to a sealed door. "What's the Unlock rune again?" She asks. Jace kicks open the door.

"Open sesame." He says, we all go in and Alec stops.

"Go." He tells us and Jace and I stop

"Hey, what are you doing?" I ask

"Holding them off. Take Clary back to the Institute." Alec tells Jace and I

"No, if you're staying, I'm staying. We fight together." Jace says

"Don't be stupid. If the demons get the Cup, we're dead anyways." Alec tells him

"I'm not leaving anyone behind." Jace says

"You don't have a choice." Alec says back.

"I know you guys are having a moment, okay? But we really have to go." Clary says

"Don't worry. It's not like this is the first time Alec has saved your life. I doubt it'd be the last." Izzy tells Jace

"Go." Alec says, he turns and pulls out a bow, Jace and Clary go off along with Izzy. She grabs my wrist.

"I'll stay with Alec, help him" I said, she nodded and went after the others. I walked up beside him.

"What are you doing? I thought you were going with them?" He asks, I shook my head

"I wasn't leaving you behind silly. And, now you have help. I'm not going anywhere hun." I tell him and kiss his cheek.

"While I'd rather you be safe, I guess the best way to keep you safe is for you to be by my side." Alec says, and nods. We kill a few demons until my dad shows up with a few members of his pack.

"Dad!" I exclaimed and hugged him.

"Hi Piper, Alec." He says to us and turns to the others, "guard the door, no demon gets through." They nod as he turns back to us.

"Dad we got the cup, Jace, Izzy, Thomas and Clary were heading back to the institute, they could need our help" I say

"Then let's get you two back to the institute." He says as we nod and head off.

"Clary!" Dad says as we run into Clary in the tunnels.

"Get back! How do I know you're Luke?" Clary says holding a seraph blade up.

"I got you spray paint for your birthday." Dad says as she sighs and puts the blade down.

"What happened?" I ask her

"Uh, demons. Long story. Um, Where'd you come from?" Clary asks

"Jail. I ran into Alec and Piper. Said you might be down here. Thought you might need some help." Dad says

"Apparently not. Looks like she took care of it." I say looking at the dust from a demon.

"Shouldn't we get going or something? More demons could be coming, right?" She asked

"Oh, don't worry about it. I got the pack on the lookout. If there's any other demons, we'll take care of them." My dad says

"Look at you, leader of the pack." Clary says

"Well, you know, it has its perks." Dad tells her

"Shall we?" She asks, as she walks off

"Yeah. Right." Alec says and walks off as well, I grab my dad's arm.

"Piper?" He asks, looking at me.

"Dad I need to talk to you about something." I say, dad kinda shrugs it off

"Can we talk about it when you're safe?" He asks

"No" I immediately answer, he nods looking at me. "So when we first showed up at the institute, there was a bit of an issue that ended up when Simon and I were kidnapped by vamps. One of the vamps told me I have part wearwolf blood because of you and helped me control it kind of." I tell him, he looks at me with the saddest eyes.

"I'm so sorry I had to give you part demon blood-" dad starts and I cut him off

"Its fine that's not what I was worried about. Can you show me how to fully control it? I want to make sure I don't hurt anyone and can still be a shadowhunter." I ask him.

"Of course babby girl. You're my daughter, I'd love to help you." He tells me "we should catch up." He says

"Alright, but promise me you won't tell anyone, including Clary. Not until I can control it." He nods and we catch up to Clary and Alec.

"These tunnels are swarming with Shax demons. If she's down there, it's only a matter of time before they find her. We need to make sure that doesn't happen." Thomas says

"All right, listen up. I want this entire institute on high alert. I don't care what anybody else says, we'll take full responsibility." Jace says to the institute as we walk in

"Right now, Clary is the only thing that matters." Thomas says as Clary runs up

"Thomas!" She yells to him

"Clary." He says as she runs into his arms.

"I did it. I got the Cup." She tells him as he looks at her.

"I don't care about the Cup. When I came out of the tunnels, I didn't see you. I was worried, something might have happened" Thomas says to her

'There was a demon. Shapeshifter. It looked just like you." Clary says

"You all right?" He asks. Jace walks over to where we're standing.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine." She replies,

"And the demon?" He asks

"I sent him straight back to hell." Clary says

"How'd you know it wasn't me?" Thomas asked curiously

"I just knew." She told him

"Really? Kind of a risk, wasn't it?" He asked her

"Well, this may come as a surprise, but I actually do listen to some of the things you tell me. You just have to pay attention to the details." Clary said looking at him.

"Yeah, well, I told you that you belonged here. You're a shadowhunter just like the rest of us." as soon as he finished the sentence Clary kissed him. I hear Jace gasp and I kinda smirk. I look at Jace

"Have fun confessing." I tell him, reminding him of the bet he just lost and walk over to Alec.

"You okay?" He asks, I look at him

"About what?" I ask, he points to where Clary is kissing my ex.

"Perfectly fine, because I have you." I tell him and kiss him.

Oh my gosh I am so sorry. I completely forgot about this book and how I left it. I got really busy with life and like 2 weeks ago I remembered and whenever I have free time been writing this. I will start posting more and once again am so sorry for not writing.
