Chapter 16 - An Unpleasant Reunion

ERZA POV

Gray, Juvia and I, had taken up a mission, just a couple of hours out from Magnolia. We had just collected the reward money, when we were on our way back to Fairy Tail. Just casually strolling after defeating a few bandits causing havoc in a small village.

"I hope we make it in time for the welcome home party?" Juvia said excitedly.

I looked at her puzzled. "We have plenty of time, before the party. Don't worry." I said, so confidently.

"Ahhh, Erza..... It's today!" Gray says. I scoff "No it's tomorrow."

"Nooooo.... Gray's right... It's today."Juvia siding with Gray. I then laughed out loud. Then all of a sudden, something flashed in my mind.

MEMORY

"ERZA! Don't forget the welcome home party is this afternoon." Levy shouted out. "Yeah" I shouted back.

Quite frankly I wasn't paying attention to anything she was saying. All I heard was my name and 'Welcome party.'

"Mira." I mutter, my eyes widening, as I make and 'O' face.

Frantically, I twirl around, losing my mind, biting my nails. "No.....No.....No" I panicked.

"Erza.... What's wrong?" Juvia said concerned and probably, a little worried for my wellbeing.

Gray sighs, in his cool guy way. "You haven't told Mira about Lucy and Laxus have you." I stopped twirling and biting my nails, looked at Gray and Juvia, and just nodded, while pouting.

Gray scratched his head, obviously irritated.  "Does she at least know about Luna?" I shook my head.

"ERZA!" Gray says loudly. "Gray, calm down." Juvia says calmly. "Tsk...So what does Mira know?" Gray said, ticked off.

Diverting my gaze from them, I looked down at the ground, trying to seem a little less conspicuous. "Erza!" Gray says, causing me to flinch.

I start to twiddle with my fingers. "Ah well, I-I-I Ah.......Just so happens.... I, um... Didn't mention anything to Mira...... I sorta, didn't tell her it was them, that the welcome party was for. Soooo.. Ummmm Mira has......No clue about anything.." I nervously chuckle, slowly lifting my gaze back to Gray, he was so pissed.

MIRA POV

While I stood behind the bar, I was drying the glasses, that I had previously washed. As I picked up anothe glass, I began to dry it, with my eyes constantly fixated on the entrance. Master never told us, who exactly we were welcoming home, but deep down inside, since the day I found out Laxus had left, I've been desperately waiting for him to walk through those doors again. So I can confess my true feels. I promised myself that if I get the chance to see him again. I'll tell him exactly how I feel, that I've missed him and I love him. I regretted it with every passing day that I never got the chance to tell him. So no matter what I have to do this, even if he doesn't feel the same towards me.

All of a sudden, our normally rowdy guild, were being reduced to murmurs. I snapped my eyes to entrance, not realizing that while in thought. y gaze had drift away from the door. The guild doors swung open, and I watched anxiously as a girl with hair, as pink at the cherry blossom trees, and a smile that's so radiant. This girl almost resembled "Laxus!" I dropped the glass. My heart sank, as I saw his yellow spiky hair walk in.

This has to be a dream, it's can't be real.

"Ehhh, She doesn't look like Laxus, She Looks like..... Heyyy!" Cana said, but I just ignored her.

My body moved on it's own, I weaved through the crowd, my heart racing and my eyes started tearing up. Laxus.......Laxus.......Laxus

"WELCOME HOME" The whole guild screamed and cheered.

My chest tightening as I was getting closer. Just a little bit more and I'll be able to touch him again.

Finally I made my way out of the crowd and Laxus was standing just inches in front of me. That was when I noticed Lucy was clinging on to his arm. Laxus was looking down at her, with an expression I had never, not once seen on his face.

"It's good to be back." Laxus then looks back to the crowd.

"Hi everyone" Lucy say gleefully, as she smiled.

Suddenly I could hear some commotion coming from behind me, and I swung around to see what it was.  All the men in the guild we standing around the girl with pink hair. Who exactly was she?

"AWWWWWW" "SHE IS SO DAMN CUTE" "SHE LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE LUCY" "HEY PRETTY GIRL WHAT'S YOUR NAME?" 

I just sighed, they will never change. As soon as a pretty looking girl or any female for that matter comes in they lose all common sense. I guess boys will be boys. Thinking with there (*****) instead of their heads. So typical.

Suddenly the sound of lighting was crackling behind us. It was ferocious and deadly. Automatically I knew it was coming for no other mage, except from Laxus. Then all of a sudden the all the males, stopped gawking at the girl and nervously turned in my direction, but looking straight passed me.

"STAY AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER. USELESS YOU ALL WANT TO DIE." Laxus warned in a ferocious voice. Even though it wasn't aimed at me. It sent shivers down my spine.

That was when they all coward away. This girl is his daughter, I looked at her, this girl is Laxus's daughter.  But......Then that would mean........

"Father! They were just being nice"." The girl I still didn't know that name of says.

"Ahh Mira!" I flinch when I hear Laxus call my name. I turn to face Laxus and.......Lucy.

"It's been awhile hasn't it." Laxus nervously chuckles. I just nodded.

"Luna come here." So her name  is Luna. "Say hi to your Aunty Mira, make sure you don't get on her bad side." Laxus playfully warns.

I shot Laxus a quick glare.

"Hi Aunty Mira. Aunty Erza has told me so much about you. Expect she lied. You are absolutely stunning." Luna cheerfully greeted me. 

I was still shook and didn't know how to process any of this, so I just forced a smile and nodded. "It's a pleasure to meet you too Luna!"

"Hey Mira." Lucy greets me. I look at her "Lucy!" I say surprised.

"It's really good to see you again.......Mira"

Suddenly loud and thunderous foot steps came towards us with purpose. "Laxus........Lucy" Gramps called out in such a deep hoarse voice

Everyone froze.....Unsure what Gramps was going to do.

"LAXUS..............................LUCY" Gramps called again, his voice getting louder, and his very step more and more intense.

Then he stopped right beside me. Looking so pissed off and enraged. Lucy was grimacing, slowly disappearing behind Laxus. While Laxus, acting like such a macho man, just stood there as staunched as ever, glaring at gramps.

The spiritual pressure that was resonating from gramps, is so strong, that it was making my whole body feel heavy. It was like any moment now I was going to collapse.

"Father who is this?" Luna says, looking unaffected by Gramps power, as she stands beside Laxus.

Laxus sighs. "Luna meet your great-grandfather..... and also the 3rd, 6th, and 8th Master of Fairy Tail."

Instantly Gramps power disappears........And Luna runs towards Gramps and hugs him. "Papa." Luna shouts so excited.

Gramps face begins to soften, and in the corner of his eyes, tears start to build. "Laxus......Lucy..............And my great-grand-daughter..........welcome home." Gramps bursts into tears, as he hugs Luna.

We all smiled.

"Gramps there is also one more thing." Laxus says, as he looked at Gramps, then shifted his gaze to Lucy and nodded. Lucy then come out from behind Laxus. Laxus laced his hand in hers.

"Me and Lucy are also married." The whole guild looked in complete and utter shock It was dead silent. Everyone including me were all flabbergasted.

Then all at once, everyone's voices screeched. "WHAAAAAATTTTTTTT!!!!" They all got up off their seats and surrounded the couple, congratulating them.

But for some reason, I just couldn't bring myself to be happy for them. Why? then suddenly, an unbearable amount of pain, was resonating throughout my entire body. What is this feeling? I looked at Laxus, and then at Lucy. I  was so envious of her. Even with him, in arms length, I still feel so far from him.

I needed to get away from all this commotion, before I say or do something stupid. Slowly I turn and start to walk back to the bar. When I feel someone grab my hand. I turned my head to see in the corner of my eye it was Laxus. My heart racing. He was smiling at me with such a warm and welcoming smile.

Forcing a smile. "Welcome Home."
