Part 68

Jin's POV

"What's taking them so long?" Yoongi asked no one in particular.

"I'll go look for them." I volunteered, wearing my cap and shades to avoid attention as I went down our van.

The members and I still can't believe about our little sister's (well she's our own little sister) condition and we're all having a hard time trying to smile and laugh despite her condition but we're also doing this for her, so we're doing our best. Especially Yoongi who I caught crying alone by the hallway while everyone's chatting up with Christine in her hospital room.

"She'll be fine... She'll get better." I muttered to myself as I enter the building only to be greeted by Christine on Jimin's back.

"Where have you been?" I asked the two.

"Sorry, got caught up with Jongin and the others.." She smiled weakly. I examined her face and saw her abit pale than usual.

"You guys go ahead to the hospital. Take her there quickly alright?" I told them, urging them to walk to the van.

"How about you hyung?" Jimin asked confused as he walked towards the exit.

"I'll look for Jungkook. He's not in the van with the others but you don't have to wait for us okay?" I said walking them out and sending them off.

Where could that kid be?

I asked myself as I roamed around the building with my phone in my hand. Just as I was about to call Jungkook, Alvina's name popped out of my screen.

"Hey Jagi, what's up?" I asked as I look around. "Aniya~ I'll go to you later then after I'll go to the hospital... Yes, Yoongi's sister. Okay. Nado Saranghae" I suddenly remembered Jungkook's odd behavior during the concert before we got mobbed.

"By any chance, do you know where your cousin is?" I asked suspiciously.

"Yuri went to the Exo concert today. Waeyo?" She asked confused.

"Have you guys talked or anything? What's she up to?"

"Molayo, oppa. We aren't really close and I just heard that she was going to the concert in our mothers' conversation."

"Is that so.. Well I'll go first jagi. I'll see you later ~" I said as I hang up.

So Yuri was here.

~flashback~

"Woooohhh!!!!" Christine cheered, jumping up and down as soon as the beat dropped for Exo's Overdose. Jimin jumped and cheered beside her alongside Taehyung as Hoseok, Namjoon and Yoongi at their back, being ready for the worst, but tries to have fun as well.

"She looks so happy, doesn't she?" I asked beside me with a smile, only frowning as the maknae was searching the sea of people around us in utter confusion and surprise.

"Who are you looking for?" I asked again, raising my voice as I try to make myself be heard, but failing miserably as if I was talking to thin air.

I was only able to grab the young lad's attention when I tugged on his hand, making his gaze avert to me.

"Who are you looking for?" I repeated.

"No.No one hyung." He said sad and confused.

"Is there something you want to talk about?" I asked with a sad smile. "Hyung can always listen to you, you know."

He just smiled at me and shook his head, before throwing his gaze to Christine who was having fun with the 95 duo.

"Hyung is it me or is Jimin hyung a lot better in taking care of Christine?" he said, hinting something but I'm too slow to understand.

"I think everyone is trying extra hard to take of her as much as we can since we have schedules lingering around and wouldn't be able to take much care for her, but you taking care of our Christine is visibly more than ours ofcourse. You love her more than a brother would.." I smiled at him.

"I love her... I love her." The young lad repeated,

"What are you saying?" I asked now, something in me snapped, being protective over Christine. Is he confused right now about his feelings?

"I love Christine hyung... I really do. You know that right?" he asked and I just nodded.

"Then why-"

"Kookie! Jin!" Christine called us, smiling lively as Jhope had her on his shoulders. "I couldn't see much so Hoseok helped me out!" she cheered over the loud voices around us which was the little mistake that caused a lot of riot.

The members were all around Jhope and Christine because we were mobbed as we were recognized by the other fans. It didn't help that Exo had a short break when we were recognized because all the fans were all over us now. Christine might fall which is why we don't know who to support first. Hoseok or Christine. When Jimin was already helping Christine get down, all of us were surrounding the three to avoid any further accidents and I was beside Jungkook

"Annyeong please be careful.."

"Annyeong Annyeong omo don't push please"

"Annyeong, ne Annyeong"

All of us were smiling and greeting our fans who were pushing themselves as we were holding hands with the other members like in a circle where the three were inside and we were the body guards.

Jungkook was doing the same until he saw something.

"Oh- Yu..." he said barely above a whisper when he shook his head.

Just then the real body guards helped us and the Exo coming back on stage was another big factor that helped us escape safely.

We were now at the waiting room of Exo as Christine sulked for a bit, saying it was her fault but soon brighten up when Taehyung and Jimin pulled her to dance with them when Growl played.

Jungkook's POV

What's wrong with me? Why am I wavering?

Jungkook forgive me... I'm not as strong as I thought I was... I can't let you go.

Stop it. This is just pity you're feeling. The one you love is Christine.

Son, please help me out. I know you love Yuri, a mother can tell. I just want you to be happy... Besides, Yuri has been my daughter since before, and you'll be helping out our family business. It's like hitting two, no, three birds at the same time. Come home next week and let's talk about the marriage details alright?

No. I've already proven my point that I'm not marrying her...

Be strong for her. Don't chicken out and leave. Especially when you see the worst of the worst.

Dr. Jiyoon's words echoed.

It'll be hard, heck it will be hell to love someone who has a terminal illness who's undergoing hellish procedures to recover and get better. Are you sure you're up for it?

I remembered Dr. Jiyoon's question while Christine was unconscious.

"Jungkook I can't! I'm so so sorry.." Yuri cried

"But Yuri! We talked already! It's Christine that I love! I'm done with this." I said as I turned my back on her, about to walk away when she ran to me and hugged me from behind.

"You're suffering... Right? You're having a hard time... You can come to me anytime... Jungkook, I love you. And I know somewhere down there, you love me too. It pains me too see you in such a painful situation... A situation I avoided you from even if it means I was to lose you. But now that I'm here, I want you happy.. That's all I want Jungkook... You won't suffer with me "

"Stop it... Stop confusing me. Stop appearing in my dreams... Stop bugging my mind. Christine is the one I love and it's Christine that I'll only love."

"You're having a hard time and you want it to end right? You're getting confused and you still dream of me because you still love me Jungkook..."

"I don't... not more than a friend."

"Then why are you dreaming of me? Why are you being confused if you're so certain that you love Christine huh?"

"Stop it. Stop... Stop!"

Why... Why am I getting all bothered by this? Christine needs me but why am I here, being confused?

"Jungkook?" A voice called me, snapping me back to reality.

"O.oh?" I asked surprised.

"Nevermind..." Christine muttered. "I'll go ahead then."

Wait, she was leaving?

"Where are you going?" I asked and she looked back at me with her signature 'seriously'? look.

"I'll go with you" Jimin hyung said walking beside Christine. I felt a pinch on my heart but I tried to ignore it as I ask again.

"Where are you going?" I asked the two.

"Somewhere you're too busy for." Hyung said hit me hard.

It is my fault...

I watched them walk away when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Is there anything bothering you, Jungkook?" Yoongi hyung asked as the others walked away towards the exit.

"Hyung, mian..." I hugged him tight, tears threatening to fall from my eyes.

"Do you want to talk about it, Jungkookie?" he soothingly asked as he rubbed my back.

"Ani.." I sniffed before pulling back. "I'll be fine hyung, I just... am thinking of my mom right now." I said looking down.

"We'll always be here Jungkook.. I know it's been hard on you... But be strong. You can always lean on us, your hyungs alright?" he said ruffling my hair as I nodded softly.

"I'll go now with the others, are you coming?" he asked me but I shook my head.

"I'll wait for Christine and Jimin hyung" I smiled back at him and he nodded before leaving.

As I sat on the bench beside a vending machine, I was swimming on my pool of thoughts. A sudden picture of Yuri waiting for me in the park on our anniversary popped in my head. It was the day we broke up, but why am I thinking of that?

I was too caught up to even notice someone sit beside me.

"You're in deep thought again." A familiar voice rang to my ears.

"Yuri.." I said, suddenly standing up from where I was sitting. "What are you doing here?" I asked surprised.

"Can't I fangirl too? I like Exo you know." She smiled softly, looking at her hands. "Have you thought about it?"

"Stop it Yuri. Please... Just leave me alone and stop confusing me."

"If you're confused, then it means you still love me even just a little bit." She said now looking into my eyes.

"Can't you love someone as a friend, Yuri? Who knows it just might be pity that I'm feeling-" I stopped when I noticed hurt evident in her eyes.

"M.mian.."

"Should we know?" she asked

"What?" I asked confused.

"If it's just pity or love." She then stood up, grabbing me, pulling me to her as our lips met.

What is happening? My eyes went wide.

This isn't right. No this isn't how a kiss should feel.

I tried to push her lightly, not wanting to hurt a girl, but she won't budge. As I took my resolve and pushed her harshly, a fist went flying through, nearly hitting me.

"H.hyung..." My eyes went wide, seeing an enraged Jimin hyung infront of me, which I rarely see since he's always the happy hyung.

"The hell is this Jungkook?" He asked in gritted teeth with eyes piercing my insides.

"He didn't do anythi-" Yuri tried explaining but Jimin hyung wouldn't let her.

"Shut up. I'm not talking to you."

"Hyung I. I didn't want this" I said pleadingly. No I never wanted this...

"You let her kiss you, Jungkook. You did. Cause if you didn't want it, you could have dodged it while she was leaning or could have pulled away in a split second but no. I saw you and had to hide this crap to Christine. I did stupid things like blindfolded her and made her wear my headset and when I got to you was the only time you pushed her away." Jimin hyung said angrily.

"I was just shocke-"

"Caught up in the moment? Man up Jungkook. You have a girlfriend and it's not this... thing." He spat, glaring at Yuri before continuing what he had to say. "Is this why you were out of it since Yuri came last night? Were you ignoring Christine because of Yuri?"

"No! Hell No-"

"And you Yuri. Are you really that desperate? Can't you just stop ruining other people's relationship? Stop going after guys who have girlfriends for goodness sake!" Yuri flinched, looking down as she gulped. She must feel scared right now.

"Hyung I can explain-"

"You better. If you don't fix this mess up, I'm telling you Jungkook. I'll take her away from you. She deserves more than this." Jimin said before glaring at Yuri one last time and leaving. I looked at where he was going only to find Christine sitting down, bobbing her head as she was blindfolded...

I watched them walk away with Jimin hyung guiding Christine to the exit with her blindfold still on.

Surprised, Speechless, Helpless.

"Jungkook..."

I yanked my arm away from her grasp as I look at her with eyes filled with anger and guilt.

"Leave." I said harshly.

"No."

"Leave, Yuri. Please..."

"I'm sorry... for the misunderstanding I caused, but.. I won't stop. Especially now that I've confirmed that I have a tiny chance of you loving me back. Call me shameless... But I can't stop doing this. I can't stop loving you... I can't... I just can't..."

Without saying anything, I heard slow footsteps getting fainter and fainter as I fell back on the bench with my head on my hands.

You're suffering... Right? You're having a hard time... You can come to me anytime... Jungkook, I love you. And I know somewhere down there, you love me too. It pains me too see you in such a painful situation... A situation I avoided you from even if it means losing you. But now that I'm here, I want you happy.. That's all I want Jungkook... You won't suffer with me

"Jungkook?" I heard someone call me. I looked up and saw Jin hyung looking at me with worried pair of eyes.

"Hyung..." I muttered, breaking down in tears as he just knelt and let my head rest on his shoulder while I sob.

What is this? Why is life so cruel? My heart hurts so much... What am I to do?

I clutch on my chest as I cried my heart out.

Why... Does it have to be this hard?

Annyeong! I know I should be updating Stay with Me and the oneshots but I just had a birthday request so I made it for jongup_lover. Happy birthday dear! Thankyou for supporting this story from the start!

I promise to work on the update for Stay with Me and I promise to update 2 oneshots first before I go back to this, mian mian for all those who are waiting for my other updates... Pressure of a graduating student, college applicant and an author of 3 books are kind of hectic. Kind of slept for 15 hours today after sleeping for less than 3 hours this whole week that has passed.
