Chapter 37

JAYJAY POV

I always forget how this King really hasn't changed. In our game, so far, he has been flirting with me.

"Did you ever have a boyfriend in the past five years?"Keifer dared, his lips curving.

"No. I had to study and I have two kids. How was I going to date?"I repiled.

"Thank you for waiting for me."He said.

"Why would I wait for you?"I asked. I did though.

"Because your heart always belonged to me."He said.

"Asshole." I muttered and the King started laughing.

"Are you on something? Why do you laugh when I swear?"I asked.

"Be happy I'm laughing. I could be kissing you instead. Our rule never had an expiry date." Keifer said. This asshole. Had to remind me of that.

"That expired as soon as I left." I grumbled.

"You never told me so I don't want it to be expired. I have an idea."He said.

"What now?"I said. I didn't want to hear his ideas. That profanity rule got me pregnant. I'm good.

"You don't swear when you're near the kids. So I propose that whenever you nearly swear or spell the word out, I kiss you."He said.

"That's a stupid idea. What is in it for me? I'm lawyer so I need to know everything."I said.

"I'm a CEO so I don't mind negotiating. With this offer you will receive your greatest desire. Me." I started howling at this idiot's nonsense. His ego was too high.

"What do else do you want?"He asked, with a thinking look. 

I thought for awhile. What do I want? What is Jasper Jean Mariano's greatest desire? Keifer was like a genie and it made sense. He could get whatever he wanted with just saying so. So what was something that I wanted from him?

"You'll be accepting. You clearly are wondering what I'm hiding and why I'm doing this or that. I ask  that no matter what happens you protect the kids. Even if it means, hurting me.That's what I want from you"I said, with the straight face.

His teasing smile turned into confusion. I clearly read his mind and know he was questioning harder why I was lying. He clearly knew how cautious I had gotten and was probably wondering why I would ever leave the kids.

You're making a mistake. Your kids will always be in danger. That's your fate. Your choices. Your fault. Now you're dragging in Keifer. What an absolute idiot. You never should left, Jay. You never should left the hell I have. You belong in this hell. You created.

"Are you okay? Jay? Jay?"Keifer said, softly.

"I-I'm fine."I said. "I want to sleep."

"It's the morning. 6 am." Keifer said, narrowing his eyes. Sometimes I forget how beautiful his eyes are. Shut up Jay!

"Who wakes up at 6 am?" I asked, yawning.

"If you want to work out, yes you do."Keifer said.

"You work out?" I asked. In high school, he was pretty well built. So was I! 

"Yes. I started when I joined the basketball team. You?"He asked. He seemed to not be asking on what happened before. I was thankful for that.

"Brother forced me to join a lot of sports. Only sport that stuck with me was pistol. But that was really when I joined university. So nothing." I shrugged.

"Pistol?"Keifer asked.

"Does the CEO of Watson Enterprises not carry around a gun?"I asked.

"I do. It's in every one of my vehicles. My driver doesn't know either. It's hidden so only I can access it. Do you carry one?"Keifer asked.

"Yes. I have one in my closet and one in my car. It's a habit. There is also four guns at my family home. And then there are some in Brother's home."I said.

"In the closet? I won't kill you."Keifer laughed.

"I have one in the closet so I can protect myself. Having a personal weapon in your home is not a bad idea."I said.

"Do you think I'll hurt you? Do you believe that I could hurt you?"His face darkened and his tone went serious.

"I can't believe anything, Keifer. I grew up being abused until I was 4. I can't even trust myself sometimes."I said. I knew Keifer also didn't trust himself or anyone else.

Raising his brothers, while making sure he protected them from his dad, he never took acre of himself mentally. It was always protect your brothers.

"But that doesn't me I don't trust you completely. I trust you mostly but I never know. I trust that you'll do anything for the kids. For us."I said, without realising I said the word. Us. And I kinda missed it.

"Us, huh?"Keifer's face lit up.

"Wow, your face really brightened when you heard that."I muttered.

"You being here lights up everything."Keifer said.

"What a flirt." I said. My idea bulb lit up. If I remember clearly, Sister Ion told me that she was engaged to Keifer. She was drunk but I kept that in my mind, hoping to use it someday. The day had come.

"My turn to ask a question."I said.

"Okay."He said, grabbing the mug of water nearby and smirking. Flirt, I drank from that.

"Did you get engaged to Sister Ion?"He immediately spat out the water.

"So you were."I said, cooly. I'm cool, right?

"That was against my will. I didn't find out about it until my 18th birthday."Keifer explained, flustered.

"Why should I care? She was your first love, wasn't she?"I said. I just guessed that part.

"She was."Keifer admitted. I struggled to hold my shock. I stared at him but he was looking down. I bit my lip in annoyance.

"But I will always love you more. Until the scientists find the end of the universe."Keifer said. His head was down, like he was being scolded but he still was flirting. The audacity!

"What a flirt."I stood up. "I'm going to the gym. Might as well since I woke up."

I started walking to the closet until the King spoke. He then wrapped his arms around my waist. HIS ARMS ON MY WAIST!

"You haven't worked out, right?"He whispered into my ear. He was resting his chin on my collar and heat rose to my cheeks.

"I'll help you or you'll probably hurt yourself. That's the right thing to do, right?"He said. This flirt. I was going to throw a dumbell at him!

"F-Fine. Let me go."I said, trying to release myself from his hold.

"No. But if you listen to me, we can pick up the kids after."He said.

"What else was I going to do after?"I asked, being sarcastic. "How about before we go to pick up the kids, we see Percy first. I know where his apartment is."
