Once the main meal had come to a close it was time for mine and Niall's first dance. He took my hand and we walked onto the large dance floor with lights around the edge of it.

The soft music of Christina Perri's a thousand years started playing and I hooked my arms around Niall's neck. I guess it was a common song to have as your first dance but the lyrics summed up mine and Niall's love perfectly so it just felt right to have it as our first dance. Everyone stood around the floor and watched us as we danced. I didn't take my eyes off Niall and he didn't take his eyes off me.

"You have no idea how much I dreamed about my first dance as a little girl," I said quietly so only he could hear, "And now I'm getting to do it with the best person in the world."

"See that's where you're wrong," he said, "I am only the second best person in the world. The best is you."

"Oh stop it," I joked, "I know I'm amazing."

Niall smiled even wider which I hadn't thought was possible and I felt tears coming.

"What's wrong?" Niall said quietly and stared into my eyes. Of course he was going to realise that I was about to cry, he realised everything.

"Nothing," I said.

"Princess I'm not an idiot," he said but I could see his smile peaking through his seriousness.

"Yes you are," I joked but a few tears fell from my eyes when I blinked.

"Fine but I do care about you and it's scaring me that you're crying during our first dance as a married couple."

"It's scaring me how much you're talking," I laughed, "It seems like there's more talking than dancing."

"I'm not having this argument with you Lily," he said almost angrily and I was surprised by his harsh tone of voice. Were we really having an argument at our own wedding reception not even a day after getting married.

I sighed, "Niall I'm not sad, ok? I just can't believe that... that we're married."

His face lightened up in less than a second when I said I wasn't crying because I was sad. He didn't hesitate to bow his head and kiss me with a smile still on his lips.

"I'm sorry for snapping," he whispered.

"Don't worry, it's part of getting used to it," I said.

He smiled even more, "I love you so much you have no idea."

I kissed him again, "Right back at you."

The song contined for a minute or two more and when it finished my head was resting on Niall's shoulder and everyone cheered. The band then started playing some more up beat songs, most of which were about love of course. A few of them were even sang by One Direction themselves, minus Niall of course who was busy dancing with me and his family, and the best part about that was they did it for free too.

I danced with my dad, Carol, Liv, Peter, basically every single kid that was there, but most of all Niall. He spun me around and made my dress swish around my legs. People with disposalable cameras took pictures of us as well as the actual wedding photographer. On one occasion Niall actually threw me over his shoulder and smacked my bum to the beat of the song which made everyone laugh and me screaming at him to put me down. In between songs I would grab a quick cupcake or slice or pizza to keep me going because literally all my energy was being spent dancing and singing and laughing.

I danced with Liv through the song Greatest Day by Take That but when the song finished and I turned to find Niall again he wasn't on the dance floor. I scanned the tables but he wasn't there either. I presumed he was in the toilet and got ready to dance with Liv again but no music played.

"Hello everybody," Niall's voice suddenly said and made me jump. I turned and saw him standing on the stage in front of the band holding an acoustic guitar that was weirdly familiar to me. It was the same, white guitar I'd picked to play the day Niall had first showed me his music room. It was such a long time ago but somehow the memory stood out clear as anything in my head.

I hadn't known how to hold a guitar and I'd ended up dropping it on the floor which was very embarrassing. I remember thinking Niall would get mad at me for dropping one of his guitars but he'd just laughed like he always did in bad situations.

"So if we could please just make sure no one is recording right now that would be very much appreciated," Niall said to the entire room, "Right," he said to himself and ran his hand through his hair. I forced him to catch my eye and when he did I just smiled comfortingly because I could tell he was nervous for whatever he was going to do.

"For a very long time I thought true love was all just a prank. A huge prank pulled on the stupidest humans by the most cunning ones to trick them into thinking that one day they'd find the person they can't live without. I would always class myself as a stupid human because, well to be quite honest the thought of finding love seemed stupid to me. How can you feel so strongly for one person that you'd take a bullet for them? How could you ever spend your whole life with the same person and not get bored of them?" Niall cleared his throat and continued, "All that changed when I met this crazy blonde girl in a night club. I ruined her dress and she vomited all over my shoes. If I was able to tell myself back then, that's the girl you're going to fall so madly in love with that you can't live without, then I would've never believed it," I was crying now, "Lily, you changed my life in a way I never once could've imagined someone could. There's no way I can ever be bored of your smile and crazy sense of humour. So... I wrote this song for you and I really hope you love it as much as I love you."

Everyone clapped as Niall cleared his throat one last time but I just stood like a statue and stared at my whole world in a single person. I wasn't crying anymore, I was just in awe at how unbelievably lucky I was to have Niall in my life, let alone my husband.

"That first night we were standing at your door. Fumbling for your key, then I kissed you. Ask me if I want to come inside, cause we didn't want to end the night. Then you took my hand, and I followed you," Niall sang beautifully and stared right at me.

New York flashed through my mind as I listened to Niall's lyrics. I'd dropped my key, that stupid hotel room door key Liv and I had for our shitty hotel room that was way to over priced. When I'd stood back up Niall had kissed me. Little had I known it was the first kiss out of many many more. It was the first time I'd felt properly alive in a very long time and oh my god did I love the feeling.

"Yeah, I see us in black and white, crystal clear on a star lit night. In all your gorgeous colors. I promise that I'll love you for the rest of my life. See you standing in your dress, swear in front of all our friends: there'll never be another. I promise that I'll love you for the rest of my life," Niall sang and I immediately knew it was the chorus. And boy was it a beautiful chorus. All the lyrics just worked.

"Now, we're sitting here in your hotel room. Telling stories while we share a drink or two. And there's a vision I've been holding in my mind, we're 65 and you ask, "When did I first know?" I always knew," Niall continued to sing and more memory's appeared out of nowhere in my mind.

We'd sat on mine and Liv's shared bed drinking wine from cheap, nasty glasses. For the first 5 minutes or so he'd stared out the window seemingly in deep thought and I'd gotten stressed but when we'd finally gotten talking we couldn't stop. We spoke about a lot and made it through a good half of a bottle of wine.

Niall sang the chorus again and then went onto the bridge which I quickly decided was my favourite part of the whole song.

"I want the world to witness, when we finally say I do. It's the way you love I gotta give it back to you. I can't promise picket fences, or sunny afternoons. But, at night when I close my eyes," he sang and only then did I notice the amazing amount of tears running down my face. So much for not wanting to cry that day. Thank god I was wearing water proof mascara.

Niall finished the song and took a small bow as everyone applauded him. I couldn't though. I was just crying and waiting for him to get off the stage so I could hug him tightly.

"Come here," he said when he'd put down the guitar and walked down the steps. I ran up to him and wrapped my arms around him as best as I could.

"I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, " I said and realised how surprisingly normal my voice sounded despite my tears.

Niall chuckled and squeezed me even tighter, "I love you."

I pulled away from his body and kissed him passionately. Nothing, nothing nothing nothing, would ever be as important to me as Niall. In the whole of the English language there wasn't a way to say how much I loved him. I could just say I love you over and over and pray that he would always say it back to me.
