part 4
01:44, 21 June 2021You had stayed in your room all day and refused to get up— not like you could walk, anyway. Your body and heart ached but you couldn't find the motivation to drag yourself out of the unfamiliar room that made you feel a little less sad. Taehyung came to check up on you every now and then to see if you were okay, and he came knocking on your door again. "Hey," He said as he looked over to see you trying to sit up as he entered. He quickly ran over to you to press his hand against your lower back to help you sit up. "How are you feeling?" You sighed and leaned against the headboard of the bed. "The same, as the other times you've asked me already," you replied and saw him nervously cringe at your words. "Right, sorry.." he mumbled. "But disregarding that, I have to talk to you-" "We have to talk to you," another voice erupted as you looked over to the door way and saw the same six boys that had barged themselves into the room a few hours ago. The big group walked in and you finally took the moment to take in their facial features. They were all extremely handsome and also young, youthful looking men. You looked down to your hands to break yourself out from your daydream. "What is it?" You asked but one of them had crossed their arms, tilting his head to the side. "We need to know if you're ready to hear what we're about to tell you. You may be shocked-" "Whatever you have to tell me, I'm sure I can take it." You interrupted which left them in a bit of shock and surprise. "Nothing can shock me more than what happened last night so you guys can just say what you want to say." The seven of them glanced to one another before Taehyung took the liberty to speak up, "Do you know who The Seven are?" Your eyebrows furrowed but you nodded. "Of course I know who they are. Aren't they, like, the best group of fighters in the world?" You asked but as you stared to them, they had a certain expression on their face that made you even more confused. You turned to Taehyung and he glanced to the six other boys and tilted his head toward them, and that was when your eyes widened and realization finally hit you in the face. "You guys are The Seven?!" One of the boys smiled widely, his adorable expression almost lighting up the whole room. "The one and only!" He said with pride and joy. "Well, the seven I mean." While he was talking, you still couldn't comprehend that The Seven were right in front of your eyes and standing in the same room as you. You knew that the group had a huge impact on the mafia and other corporations that tried to steal or do bad, but it was always this certain group that managed to stop them before they could. They would never answer the media due to secret reasons and they'd never reveal their identities either. Call them superheroes if you would, but you still couldn't process the fact that they were here. "I... I just..." you mumbled before scoffing softly. "What the fuck." "We told you to prepare yourself," the short one said with a playful smirk on his plump lips. "I-I just don't understand," you said as you stared at all of them with the same surprised eyes. "What are you guys doing here? Shouldn't you all be stopping the mafia from, I don't know, robbing the bank or something?" One of the tall one's scoffed while shaking his head in disapproval. "Was that supposed to be sarcastic? Cause that was terrible- ow!" He had got hit in the back of his head by another tall fellow, his cheekbones raising and his dimples sinking into his cheeks. "Don't mind him," he said while rolling his eyes. "Anyway, it's a bit of a long story..." "Please tell me," you replied. "I need to know the truth. I've been lied to all this time, so I just want the truth..." You were desperate at the rate. It felt like there were more lies stacking up one after the other and that the truth was just getting further away from you, getting out from your reach. This time, the truth was right in front of you. You were desperate to know. Taehyung stared to his six friends and nodded his head, earning a soft look from each six of them. He turned back to you. "A while back, we were hunting for a murderer that was on the loose..."
"He should be around here," Namjoon said while holding his gun up, scanning the secluded area of the abandoned building. Jungkook and Hoseok followed after their leader, scanning the place before motioning the others to run in. Taehyung was behind the pack of guys that he knew as his longtime friends. He had their backs as they had his, running into the battle field and being prepared to win or lose. Taehyung was always prepared to live or die, not knowing what could happen to him or his friends. He could never expect the unexpected but he made sure to be there if someone needed him. They all wore a black mask to cover their face and keep their identity a secret from the world and keep their own safety if someone were to come after them. As the seven boys got further down into the building, Namjoon suddenly stopped in his tracks. He lowered his gun and placed it back into his belt that held its strap. "What's wrong?" Seokjin asked while walking up to stand side by side next to Namjoon, but he looked down and realized as to why their leader stopped. "He's dead," Namjoon said as he looked down to the dead body that lied flat on the ground. "Awh man, I was hoping there would be some action!" Jimin whined while placing his gun back into its strap and cracking his neck, twisting his head from side to side. "At least we don't have to kill him ourselves," Yoongi said as he tapped the dead body with his foot. It went limb against the tip of his boot and oozed out some more blood. "That's less work for us." "So, what do we do now?" Jungkook asked. "Do we just leave him and say job well done?" Everyone looked toward Namjoon who was silent for a brief moment before he whipped out his gun once more and pointing it directly behind him, making the other six turn their heads around to see a man standing there. As they all pointed their guns at him, the man quickly surrendered with his hands waving in the air. "W-wait! Please don't kill me!" "And why shouldn't we?" Taehyung's deep voice echoed through the abandoned building which caused the man to shake in his spot— it was clear as day to the seven boys that the man was scared of them, maybe even terrified yet he still continued to talk. "P-Please! I just want to ask for a favor!" His hands that were once in the air were brought down to his sides and his legs bent with his knees meeting the concrete, his head hanging low in spite of shame. "Please... one favor is all I ask of you." "It depends on the favor," Namjoon said as he lowered his gun which caused the six boys to lower their guns as well. Just from his body language, they knew that he wasn't a threat to them. "Do you even know who we are?" Hoseok asked but furrowed his eyebrows when the man nodded, "Yes, and I've been searching far and wide of you all." He kept his head hanged low, avoiding eye contact with the seven men that only shot darts at him with their unbreakable gazes. But when the man finally lifts up his head, their gazes suddenly crack. "Please," the man sobbed as tears ran down his cheeks. "Please save my daughter." The six boys looked toward Namjoon who only continued to stare at the sobbing man. He slowly walked over and now stood a few feet away from him. "What makes you think we can save her?" Namjoon asked. "We were created to save people but we were also created to kill." Namjoon had wanted to test the man's patience and intelligence— he wanted to push him over the edge a bit with his words. He figured that the man would be frightened to the point that he'd flee but the man spoke up, "Please, kill me if you'd want." It took a second for Namjoon to process what the man had said. The crying man continued on, "Please I just want someone to protect her. I've got involved in some bad ties and I know they'll be coming for me, I know that they want me dead." Listening to his words, Namjoon smirked slightly. "So you wouldn't mind if I killed you, right here, right now?" He pulled out his gun again and loaded it with a new set of bullets, pointing it directly at the man's head. Namjoon thought he would flinch in fear and he thought that he would give up and run away, but the man continued to beg and plea. "If it means that you'll guard my daughter, then you may gladly do so..." he mumbled while closing his eyes. "Please, I ask you nothing more than to just keep her safe." Namjoon stared down to the helpless man who looked like he lost all life in him. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, a hand pulled him back. "Don't," Taehyung said. "We can't kill him." The other boys slowly walked their way over while the man sat there, not knowing what to do. "We can kill him if we wanted to. Besides," Yoongi glanced over to Taehyung. "He said he didn't care." However, Taehyung shook his head in disagreement. It didn't feel right to him to kill an innocent man who just wanted help. A part in him thought that he was just begging for show but another part in him believed that he had a daughter he wanted to be kept safe. "We can't. It goes against all the things we do," Taehyung said and then glanced down to the man and crouched down to his level. "How long does she need the protection?" He asked and suddenly, it was like the life that seemed lost was brought back into the man's eyes and expression. "As long as the threat is gone," the man said. "Please, I'm begging-" "I'll do it," Taehyung interrupted which cause everyone to be surprised. "You will?!" A smile was spread across the man's face as he bowed down to us, showing genuine gratitude. "Thank you, thank you so much!" Taehyung sighed and nodded before pulling the man up and watching him leave after getting all of the information he needed. "Are you crazy, Taehyung?" Hoseok scoffed. "Do you even know what the hell you signed us up for?" Taehyung furrowed his eyebrows while stuffing his gun into its strap. He scoffed as well, not understanding why they were upset at him. "You guys aren't even doing it, I am." He stretched his arms and adjusted the buckles around his body that wrapped to keep its weapons and armor in place. "Well, do you even know what the hell you signed up for?" Seokjin crossed his arms over his chest as he leaned against the wall while staring his feet. "You don't even know the man-" "I don't have to know the man if it means I can save someone's life," Taehyung said which caught everyone off guard. He kept his stern expression and slowly began to walk out of the abandoned building, pulling down his black mask. "We kill those who are threats and save those who are threatened."
You sighed as Taehyung had told you what happened. "So..." you whispered. "My dad had an affair with another company?" Taehyung shrugged but it wasn't sarcastic, in a way it was meaningful and genuine. "He said he had been involved in some bad things and apparently," he took a breath in. "They were the cause of the attack last night." You rubbed your temple and took in a deep breath, processing all the information he had given to you. It was hard to believe but in a way, you were relieved. You knew the truth and slowly the dots started to connect together, cascading every lie with only the truth. It had hurt but you were glad that no more lies would be said. "Are you okay?" You heard Taehyung speak and you looked over to him, seeing his eyes show genuine concern. Fortunately, your lips curled upward. "Yes, I'm okay." You sighed and looked toward the rest of the six boys that had saved your life. For the first time in a while, you felt something other than betrayal and frustration. You kept your smile, knowing that it had been a while since you laughed or smiled. "Thank you for telling me the truth."
