part 2
01:44, 21 June 2021The next morning, you had gotten up to eat breakfast with your parents before they leave overseas for their business trip in the evening. You weren't sure why they were leaving for this time, but it was normally for business purposes as they'd say. As you were eating your food, a figure suddenly entered into the dining room area of your large house.
"Sir, Mr. Kim is here," one of the maids had said which caused you to choke on your food. Your mother and father stared at you, eyes wide as you choked on your own food that you were barely able to swallow. Your mother had quickly walked over to rub your back as you gulped down your water from your previous food attack. You looked over to Taehyung who smirked slightly and pursed his lips, holding back a laugh from your reaction. You turned back to your father who sat across the table, "Dad, you can't be serious with this. I don't need him to protect me."
However, your father shook his head while wiping his mouth with the napkin besides his silverware, "I told you last night that he is here to guard you at all times."
You shook your head in defense. "But I don't need anyone to guard me-"
As you spoke, your father quickly interrupted you before you could continue your rambling. "I've already discussed this with your mother and we both believe that this is best. While we are gone, Taehyung will be here to make sure you're safe," he replied.
You quickly turned to your mother whom was now sitting back in her seat across the table, next to her husband. "Mom, you can't possibly agree with him?" You asked, hoping that she would understand your point of view. You didn't want this and you wanted at least one person to realize that you didn't want this— you didn't need it.
"Sweetie," your mother spoke but just from the tone in her voice, you didn't want to hear what was coming next. "Your father and I had a long talk about this and we think it's the best thing to do. We don't know how long it will be until we're back from our business trip so we want to make sure you're safe," your mother softly spoke. "Plus, we don't want you to be lonely."As much as you wanted to disagree and oppose of their decision, you decided to keep your thoughts to yourself. Nothing you could say would change their minds, you'd thought. You stood up without finishing your food and looked down, refusing to look at your parents.
"I'm not hungry anymore," you slowly walked off and past the maid and Taehyung who continued to stare at you as you left the room.
Your father sighed as your mother stared sadly to you while you exited the dining room and headed back toward your own bedroom. You laid yourself face down on the bed and let out a loud, exaggerated sigh into your sheets. The frustration was beginning to build up inside of you which made you want to shake and release your anger. You turned to lay on your back and stared up at the ceiling and said, "What do you want?"You saw someone standing by the opened door opening through the corner of your eye. You didn't intend to be rude but you couldn't blame yourself since you weren't in the best mood at the moment. "What's with you so against this plan of being safe?" Taehyung asked as he leaned against the door frame, staring at your laid figure on the bed. "Your parents just care about your safety but you seem too stubborn to understand their views.""They don't understand my views either," you scoffed and lifted yourself up from the bed and walked over to your large balcony window. The wind blew softly against your curtains, causing the fabric to flow into your room. "I don't need a protector. I'm perfectly capable of protecting myself."
It was silent for a brief moment before you were dragged back to the bed and pushed down to lay down once again, but with Taehyung hovering on top of you this time. "What the— get off of me!" You yelled and tried pushing him off but he was quicker. Taehyung grabbed your hands and pinned them above your head, causing you to squirm underneath his hold. "What do you think you're doing?! You can be killed if you even think of touching me!"
You tried to threaten him but it was obvious to Taehyung that you were no match against his strength. You continuously squirmed under him while Taehyung held your wrists down with one of his hands, his large palm and long fingers easily wrapping around both of your wrists to hold you down as his free hand found its way to cover your mouth. He smirked as your widened eyes. "You can't be saved if they can't hear you, right?" His voice was low and deep, his facial features were perfectly defined, and his eyes were beautifully deep and mesmerizing that you couldn't help but just stare at him. Taehyung scoffed and lifted himself off from you, letting go of your wrists and standing back on his two feet. "If I was a real threat to you, you'd be dead by now." He dusted his pants with his hands and cracked his knuckles. "You're clearly not capable of protecting yourself."
You sat up and stared at him in disbelief as he only stood there with his arms crossed over his chest. You scoffed and leaned yourself on your hands while you sat on the bed, sighing. "Fine, you win." You confessed before staring back at him. "I can't protect myself. Are you happy now?"
Taehyung shrugged, seeming as if he just did what he did for fun. "I honestly couldn't care less, but you're too stubborn to see why your parents are doing this for you." His gaze on you was blazing— almost got to the point you were on fire, and you never wanted anything more than to be away from this guy.
"The only reason I don't understand why is because they refuse to tell me why," you responded. "They even made you keep your mouth shut. I just want them to be honest with me."Taehyung stayed silent for a moment before turning and heading out of the room. "When the moment comes, they'll tell you. If not, then I'll tell you everything." He said before closing the door and leaving you by yourself to let the frustration consume you once again. Along with the frustration, the loneliness engulfed you but you didn't mind it. You were more curious about how mysterious this new bodyguard of yours was.
~~~8:49pm
You were driving toward the airport to see your parents off as they leave for their business trip. Although, your parents had driven in a separate car that drove in front and leaving you, Taehyung, and the driver in the car following behind. You sat in the back seat with Taehyung who was quite silent during the ride. He'd occasionally pull out his phone since it seemed like people were texting him but he seemed quite anxious as how fast his leg was jumping. You ignored him and looked out the window, staring at the night sky that seemed to be blurry due to the clouds in the sky. It was disappointing since the stars nor the moon was clear in sight, which was a bit unusual to you. You looked over to Taehyung who's phone kept blowing up with many messages, his ringer going off at every second. He quickly fiddled with his phone and turned the ringer silent. You looked over to him and tilted your head. "Seems like you're pretty busy..." you said but furrowed your eyebrows when you saw him flinch.
"Erm... Yeah. I guess so." He mumbled as he continued to text on his phone, ignoring you once again.
You saw him lower the brightness on his phone which caused you to only grow more suspicious of his behavior. You rolled your the window on your side of the car and rested your arm on the edge, feeling the cool breeze push up against your face. However, you suddenly cringed when you smelt something weird. "What is that smell?" You mumbled to yourself but apparently, Taehyung had heard it.
"What smell?" He asked. "Roll down your window and see if you can smell it," I told him. He quickly rolled down his window and stuck his face out through the hole, taking a few sniffs before his eyes widened. "Stop the car," he said. You and the driver were both confused at his sudden change. "What?" The driver asked.
"Stop the car!" Taehyung yelled. "Call the car in front of us to stop their car! I smell gasoline!"
Your eyebrows knit together, obviously confused at what he was getting at. However, the driver didn't stop and you didn't mind it. Taehyung was probably crazy or having hallucinations, you'd thought. Suddenly, a big 'boom' interrupted your thoughts and flames formed in front of you while your window were still opened. You screamed and used your arms to cover your face while you felt someone pull you back and away from the window. The car came to a harsh stop, the tires screeching against the concrete and the car almost tipping over at how sudden the break was. Flames were formed all around as you heard many screams and yells along with the sounds of things crashing against one another. Your vision suddenly turned blurry and your skin turned hot— it felt like you were suffocating.
Two large hands suddenly grabbed you and dragged you out from the flaming car and carried you off to the side. "Are you okay?!" You heard Taehyung yell over the cracking flames as he set you down on the ground. It took you a moment to see his face clearly; he had black spots and cuts on his face, the red and orange flames being the only light source in the dark night. He suddenly reached up to move the pieces of hair from your face and softly shook your face to make sure you stayed awake. "Yeah, I'm okay..." you managed to mumble. "What's happening?""We were ambushed," he said and helped you stand on your feet. You looked over to take in the scenery before you, not expecting to see what you saw. Both cars were in flames along with some nearby buildings that happened to be caught on fire during the explosion. You looked around for the two people you had been waiting to talk to. "Where are my parents?" You asked as you tried to find them inside the big balls of flames on the city streets. You had turned your eyes back toward the two cars and slowly shook your head.
"No... no, no, no..." you trembled, refusing to believe what was happening. You let go of Taehyung and run toward the explosion of fire, but two arms held you back. "No, let me go!" You cried as you squirmed in his arms. "I need to save them! I have to save my mom and dad!"
"You can't save them! They're gone!" Taehyung yelled as he tried to pull you back and away from the flames. You were being completely reckless and he knew that you wouldn't take in the news so easily. With tears streaming down your face, you sobbed as you tried removing his arms from around you but every attempt failed.
"Let me go!" You cried as the fire continued to grow larger and larger as every second passed. You couldn't believe what was happening— you refused to believe what was happening. The cracking of the fire boomed louder as the big pit of fire puffed up, causing you to jump back slightly but Taehyung's body covered your front. "We need to get out of here! You're not safe here!" You heard Taehyung yell as he managed to get your feet moving away from the explosion. Tears continuously flowed down your face as you watched the back of Taehyung's head while you both ran. Gun shots were heard behind you which caused your legs to weaken due to shock and fear. Taehyung stopped and crouched down to your level. "What are you doing? We have to go!" He said and groaned when you could barely stand.
More gun shots were heard which made you cover your ears in fright; you were terrified for your life right now.
Everything seemed so surreal and you wished that it was just a nightmare that would soon turn into a sweet dream, and that you'd wake up to a happy ending. Taehyung had suddenly held you close as he whipped out a gun from behind his back, shoot at those who were shooting right back at him. Gunshots were still heard but Taehyung made you look up at him.
"Y/N, I need you to listen to me." He yelled and cupped your face with his large hands. "We need to get out of here, or else you'll end up hurt!" He stared at you but all you could show in your expression was fear and agony, debating on everything at that simple moment. "Just trust me, okay?" Taehyung said in a sincere tone which brought a familiar feeling back to you; comfort. You nodded as you found the strength to stand up with Taehyung grabbing your hand to run off as the ongoing gunshots were growing more distant. He had ran to a nearby motorcycle and placed you on while he hopped in the front. "Hold on," he had said as you wrapped your arms around his stomach, leaning against him as you both zoomed off on the motorcycle. You didn't know where you were heading but you remembered Taehyung's soft gaze as he told you to trust him, so that's what you did.
You put your trust in him, and hoped that it was worth the risk.
