25. Fun In The Sun
17:33, 17 July 2013Klaus's POV:
I had let Abby down. I had let my family down. And I was mad.
However the hell these hybrids managed to unsire themselves, I was sure it all led back to the Lockwood boy. Skipping up the steps to the mayor's house, she opened the door just as I reached it. I flashed my award-winning grin, and Carol smiled back at me.
"Hello Klaus." She cocked her head to one side. "Sorry, I was just leaving to go to a town meeting. Can I help you?"
Shuffling my feet across the ground, I looked up into her eyes.
"You will let me speak to Tyler, and I will leave town with him for a couple of days."
Her pupils dilated, as the compulsion set in. I always loved compelling humans. It was, the perfect way to show that I was the alpha male.
Slowly she came back to normal. "He isn't here sorry. He went on a road trip with Hayley and some friends to the old Lockwood farmhouse, just out of town."
I gritted my teeth and stepped back from the mayor, letting her words sink in. Well this just wasn't right was it. And tonight. These hybrids were going to get exactly what they deserved.
I nodded a thanks to her, before scurrying down the steps, and back home to get a few bloodbags before setting off on my hybrid slaying journey.
Bloodbags. Wow. Abby and Caroline had sure brought out the best in me.

Abby's POV:
When I awoke in my bedroom at the Salvatores, Elijah was sitting patiently across from the bed, in the chair watching me sleep. I rolled my eyes and dug deep under the covers.
"Don't watch me sleep, I look so weird." I groaned half-heartedly.
I spent last night sobbing myself to sleep, hating myself for not stopping Damon from fighting the hybrids. I should have been there for him, but instead, I was watching that stupid football game.
I was interrupted from my glum thoughts by an enthusiastic reply from Elijah.
"You never look weird Abigail." He creaked up from the chair. "And today, I'm taking you out for some fun."
The blankets puffed up as he dropped onto the bed next to me, and I wriggled over, making room.
"Whadya mean? I'm not really in the mood."
I groaned again and curled up into a little ball, before he wrenched under the covers, tickling me ferociously, and making me scream and laugh.
I was possibly the most ticklish person in the world, and I don't know how Elijah knew that, but he had definitely got the spot. In no time I was begging for mercy, and pleading at his feet, after I had rolled off the bed and round the carpet. He leant down next to my head and brushed my hair with his fingers.
"Believe me, it'll be fun." He whispered, before pulling me back up onto the bed.
Stefan burst into the room, with frantic red eyes, looking sleep deprived. When he saw Elijah his stance calmed.
"I heard a scream, I thought something had happened." He muttered, and I hopped up and gave him a hug.
It was hard seeing Stefan so grief-stricken. Although I did know the one person that could cheer him up.
I looked up into his eyes with a firm stare. "Go hang with Elena today, okay?"
He nodded in a daze, then backed out of the room, heading back down the stairs.
I turned back to Elijah with a glum face, and he frowned, deep in thought.
"I thought you and Elena weren't on the best terms?" He mumbled as I laid back down into his arms, tangled in blankets.
"We're not." I sighed, staring up into his chocolate brown eyes. "But she is the one he loves, and I know that you are the one person I want to be with when I'm going through a hard time."
He smiled, and reached down to place a finger under my chin, whispering to me. "I feel the same way."
My smile grew, and I leaned forward, forcing my lips onto his. He took me onto his lap, and caressed my face in his hands, then moved down my neck, shoulders, arms, and onto my hands, which he intertwined with his own.
The kiss only lasted a short minute, but it was just what I needed to have the motivation for the day. Pulling away, he frowned in dissapointment, and I ran over to my closet, chucking out some clothes to wear for the 'fun day'.
Turning round, I threw Elijah a cheeky grin. "Sorry Lijah, a woman needs her privacy, do you mind..?"
I gestured to the door, and he just put on a blank face. I fluttered my eyelashes once more and he just rolled his eyes, before waltzing out of the room.
"No problem young lady." The last words were purely sarcastic, but I knew he was joking, and I heard him walk down the staircase to the living room.
After I was dressed in my new Levi's and a jersey, I skipped down the stairs happily, to see Elijah channel-surfing.
The button was being pushed so fast, each channel was a mere flash of colour, and his original eyes must have been super sharp to keep up with all that.
I strolled up behind the couch and flung my arms around his neck lovingly, planting kisses on both cheeks.
"So. What are we doing today?"

Tyler's POV:
I leaned back against the wooden bench, watching the young hybrid girl slowly transform. Her agony was evident, and I could barely watch, even though I knew it had to be done.
Hayley however, was not fazed by the screams of pain, and encouraged the girl to embrace the transformation.
"Come on, you can do it, you haven't got much longer."
The girl, who was chained to the floor, growled back at her. "What do you know wolf girl. You've never turned fifty times in a row."
Hayley shrugged. "No, but I've seen a lot of my hybrid friends do it."
I crossed my arms and strolled over. "Unfortunately, it's the only way to be free of Klaus's sire bond."
The girl stared up at me strangely. "Please. If I do this, I need you to be here. Without someone, I know I'll give up. Please."
She sobbed and I leaned in down to face her. Looking into her eyes, I whispered. "I promise."
After that, I stood up, and paced over into the kitchen to get some refreshments. Hayley carried on encouraging the girl, and I smirked to myself. We were at the old Lockwood farmhouse, helping all of Klaus's creations to break free. And it wasn't easy.
I poured a drink and tossed some ice in, and it melted almost immediately. The day was boiling hot, and sweat was dripping down my forehead.
As I took a large gulp of the beverage, it occured to me that everthing was now silent. No screams of agony, no Hayley cheers. This was odd, and I slid my glass to the side before creeping back into the other room. Reaching the door, I knew something was wrong.
Nobody was in sight, and just a minute ago they were busy at work. Slowly, I turned the corner and started walking through the rooms. What I saw made me stop to a halt. I laid my eyes upon the hybrid girl, her chains teared from the ground, and her heart viciously ripped from her chest.
I had a horrible gut feeling, and had just reached for my phone to call for some backup, when I heard a whimper from around the corner. I flashed to where the noise came from, to see Hayley being held up against the wall. By none other than Klaus Mikaelson.
When she saw me her eyes flickered with fear, and the original slowly turned to give me an evil grin. She whimpered again as his grip tightened firmly around her neck.
The original's eyes sparked with anger and mischief.
"Well hello mate. Long time no see."

Abby's POV:
Elijah had decided to blindfold me to take me to the destination, which was something I had always been kind of afraid of. He was just lucky I trusted him enough to let him do this.
He had stuffed me into his extremely expensive car, and we had been driving for about ten minutes. There was a peaceful silence between us, but he was rubbing my hand lovingly, and I just laid back and tried to enjoy the ride.
We slowed down as he reached some sort of intersection and Elijah whispered to me.
"We're nearly here Abby."
I grinned, and gripped his hand. "Sweet. I bet I look like such an idiot."
He sighed. "Stop putting yourself down today, you're always beautiful."
I sighed. "You have to say that, you're my boyfriend."
I could feel his eyes burning on my face. "You know that's not true. Besides, now. We are here."
The car slowed to a stop, and I could hear some sort of playful music and laughter outside the vechile.
He quickly zipped out of the car, and before I knew it, I was being led through a concrete path, the sun beaming down onto my shoulders.
Finally, he pulled me to a stop, and nuzzled his head down to whisper in my ear.
"On the count of three, I'll take the bandana off. One, two, three."
He lifted the fabric away, and it took me a few moments to regain eyesight, after being blinded for twenty minutes.
Looking around, I grinned at the magnificent setting. The caravans full of food, and the amazing acts in the giant tents. The animals roaming in their cages, and the astounding rides that circled the grounds. Rainbows of colours were sprinkled everywhere, and cheerful music filled my ears.
I flashed back to a week or so earlier:
*****
Me and Elijah sat down in front of his fireplace, lazing in the warmth. Well, he was too sophisticated to 'laze' , but I was sprawled over the rug.
He turned his head to look down at me, and I shot him a happy grin, which he quickly returned.
"So Abby. I was thinking." He began awkwardly. "We've never really shared common interests.."
This made me burst out laughing. "Really?! Aw Elijah." I played with his hair. "That doesn't matter hun."
He gave me an embarrassed look, and then turned to stare into the fire. I did a double take. "But if it really means that much to you..."
His eyes brightened, and he took hold of my hands in his. It was cute how excited he got by the little things. It was surprising, as he was one thousand years old and all.
Elijah started explaining. "Me. I'm not the artist or the athlete like my brothers. I like to play piano. And I have tampered in many other instruments slightly."
I knew by slightly, he meant he had mastered them beyond anything I was ever capable of. Elijah's modesty. He smiled at me as my eyes widened.
"So Abby. How about you?"
I could never live up to what he had just told me, but it was worth a try. I took a deep breath. "Wellllll. I did used to dance a little?" He grinned, edging me on. "When I was a kid, I always dreamed of running away and being one of those circus dancers who dance on the animals. The lions, giraffes, elephants. I really like elephants."
He grinned as I sighed and looked down at my bony hands. Taking my face in his hands, he pulled me up to gaze at him. He was so attractive, long-fully gazing was the only option.
He whispered to me, his warm breath making me blush.
"You are perfect."
*******
Turning to him, my grin spread from ear to ear.
Elijah Mikaelson had taken me to the circus.
