15. A Trip To The Principal's Office
00:05, 10 January 2014The Mikaelson family were still having a tough time. Half of them were moving away, and Elijah had lost his closest brother.
Klaus may have daggered them for hundreds of years, but they were still family.
I woke up the next morning to find it was a school day. I might attempt schoolwork again. It was better than laying around and feeling sorry for everyone all day.
I texted Elijah, encouraging him to join me, but I knew my words would have no effect. He was way too smart already. It pissed me off how he constantly corrected me all the time. But I loved him for it.
When I skipped out of my room to go fetch a bloodbag for the day ahead, I noticed that the house was all cleaned up. Huh. The Salvatores had obviously sorted out their issues.
After I had gotten all ready, dressed, fed, bag packed, I screamed out to the brothers.
"I'M GOING TO SCHOOL NOW. BETTER NOT BE LATE FOR CLASS, DICKHEADS."
I then slammed the door, and jumped into my car. I could hear Damon groan and curse under his breath. They would both want to make sure Eleana didn't attack anyone today.
This would be interesting.
####
I was halfway through history, when I realised just how much I missed Mr Saltzman. It was so different without him. He brung fun to the class, made people want to learn.
Mr. Hopper however, was a 60 year old man, obviously entirely bored of his job, and couldn't wait to retire.
I looked around the class, then rolled my eyes at Matt and laughed because I knew we were both sick of the teacher's droning voice.
If Klaus was here, he would compell him to stop. I knew he would. Everyone would laugh, but at the same time be scared of the lunatic hybrid. I actually really missed him.
I twiddled my pen through my fingers, then threw it up , and caught it. I did this again and again, trying to see how many circles the pen could do before it reached my hand.
But one time, I threw it a little two vigorously, and it flew up, bounced across the room, hitting the teacher in the forehead.
If I didn't have vampire strength, this wouldn't have been as bad. But my force made this double as hard, and I smirked as the teacher struggled not to yelp out in pain. He just turned back to me, gritting his teeth.
"Principal's office. Now."
I shrugged, and stood up from my desk half-heartedly. Stefan shook his head at me with a grin, and I just poked my tongue out at him before skipping out of the door. It's not like I hadn't been in this position a trillion times before.

Elijah's POV:
The day had been so boring, and it was only 11.30. I missed my brother, and his fun ways. At least his crazy plans never made anything boring. And now Kol was gone too.
I sighed and leaned back on the couch, flicking through a book. I suddenly threw it down, and stood up. Whatever. I'll just go and visit Abby.
She was probably still sleeping now, knowing her, so I wanted to give her fright. She was so cute when she was mad.
Before I knew it, I was strolling down the Salvatore's street, in the harsh sunlight, and it felt good on my neck. I reached the front door, but then too avoid awkward meetings with the brothers, zipped straight up to Abby's balcony.
I had to admit, they had a pretty flash house. All balconies, staircases, large rooms. Her room was one of the smallest. I think that's why she chose it though, so I liked it.
My heart dropped as I realised she wasn't there. Huh. Maybe she was downstairs somewhere. I slipped through the window, and walked down the staircase, to silence.
Strange. Nobody home. The sharp ringing of their telephone made me snap my head around. Out of curiosity, I had to answer it.
I grabbed the phone and put on my Salvatore voice.
"Hello."
"Hello, this is Mystic Falls High. Abby is in a bit of trouble, she threw a pen at a teacher. As you are the caregiver put down on her form, I was hoping you could come and pick her up?"
I grinned and rolled my eyes. School. So that's where they were. This would be fun.
"Sure. I'll be there soon."
I hung up. It wouldn't matter that I wasn't a Salvatore, it should be easy enough to just compell the principal.
I grabbed Stefan's keys, and jumped into his collectors item of a car. Grinning, I pumped the ignition. Surely he wouldn't mind. Oh well. If I scratched it, I'd somehow find a new one. I took off.

Abby's POV:
The principal's office was insanely ugly. It's walls were a horrible grey colour, and it smelt like cough lollies. Yuck.
I was getting more and more impatient by the minute, but I knew this was their intent. Tapping my foot in time to the old music, I leaned back against the wall.
At least I was old enough to recognise these songs. The teachers wouldn't dare play a song that any of the other teenagers would know. Once, Tyler made a request for 'sexy and i know it.' Let's just say not much work was done that day. Speaking of Tyler, he hasn't been at school for the past few days. I wonder what was up with him.
Thoughts of ditching this place were wandering through my mind, when someone pulled open the door behind me, and I heard two pairs of footsteps enter the room. Uh.
Principal Tanner came around the side of the of the desk and sat down, nodding at me. "Mr Salvatore is here to collect you."
I smiled and turned around, expecting too see Damon's smirking face filling in for Stefan. But no.
Elijah smiled back at me, the sides of his eyes wrinkling up at my dumbstruck stare. He obviously found this hilarious. I smirked along with him, and turned back to the principal.
"I apologised to Mr Hopper already, what do you want to talk to Eli-- um, Stefan about?"
Stefan put his name on my my school form, and for some reason they didn't notice that he was also a student at their school. Idiots.
The principal sighed and turned to the Mikaelson. "I don't think Abby's behaviour lately has been up to this highschool's standards. She has missed many classes, and has been quite rude and adrupt."
Bullshit. I was just about to argue all about Damon's shitty attendance record, when Elijah coughed and gripped my arm. I turned to see him choking down a laugh.
"I think Abby has had a tough time lately, a close family friend died. She will behave a lot better in the future." He looked back at me with a smile, but I could see his chest shaking as he was chuckling on the inside.
I nodded at him, grinning. "I sure will." I gave him a look saying we should compell her, but he raised and eyebrow and slightly shook his head.
Turning back to the lady, he put on an award-winning smile. "I will take her home now, and punish her. She will be all good for next week, seeing as it is nearly the weekend and all."
The woman looked at him in a daze and I felt slightly jealous. Why did he have to be so attractive. She nodded and wished us a good day, and he opened the door for me, before escorting me down the corridor.
Once we were out of the room, I couldn't control myself. I burst out laughing, tears springing to my eyes, clutching my stoumach. Elijah chuckled along with me, but whispered in my ear.
"Shh I think they have security cameras."
Well this just made me laugh even harder. As we walked past my history class, I saw Stefan and Elena peering out, their vampire senses obviously hearing us from down the hallway.
I grinned at them, waving cheekily and skipped away. I saw Stefan put on his brooding Salvatore frown when he realised that Lijah was taking his place. Poor boy.

When we got back to the Mikaelson manor, it was vacant. I felt sad for him, living all alone, with just Barbie Klaus for company. I grinned when I thought of Damon's nickname for her, and Elijah raised one eyebrow and slumped down into an armchair. I sat across from him on the leather sofa.
I smirked, remembering his words in the principal's office. "So. How are you going to punish me?"
His eyes widened then remembered as well, stifling a laugh, and looking down shyly at his feet. "Whatever you want my dear."
Well. I knew what I wanted. But I also knew he was still grieving, and not in the mood.
I lit the fire, then started up the giant TV, before settling onto his lap, and cuddling him close.
I whispered into his ear. "I just want to be with you."
He raised and eyebrow and smirked at me, his eyes twinkling. "And that's such a punishment?"
I sighed and tossed the TV remote at his head, which he swiftly caught while still looking into my eyes. "Remember, I'm letting you choose the channel." I grinned.
He rolled his eyes. "Love, it's my house."
I shrugged and snuggled closer to him, as he ferociously channel surfed. In his arms was my place in the world, exactly where I belonged. I felt loved. And my life was almost perfect.
