Sounds familiar

Third Person's POV:

"What was it about?" Tony asked, brushing her hair out of her face.

"It was about this young spy, her mission was to capture a man, he wasn't bad or anything, he was just running from everyone. The man used to be a spy too, the best actually, but he didn't know it, he had an accident and he lost all of the memories of his past. Every agency and organization all around the world was looking for him. Good and evil. So he was confused, everyone seemed to know who he was, everyone but himself. But he couldn't trust anyone. Because he didn't know who they were and what were their intentions."

"Don't trust strangers, kids." Tony commented.

"Don't interrupt, Stark." (Y/n) giggled.

"Ouch, okay then."

"So as I was saying. The woman looked for him, tracked him down. It took like two months, but she found him. Hiding in a small village near the mountains. At first, she went undercover, she was just a new citizen in that town. She rented an apartment, next to him. They met everyday, they got close, really close."

"Did they make babies?" Tony joked.

"Tonyyyy!!!" She pouted.

"Sorry, sweetheart. You're just too cute." He chuckled.

"Bottom line. He found out later. But it was too late. They loved each other too much to let it go. She explained to him what was going on. She told him everything. His previous life, the other bad organizations that were after him. He tried to believe her. To remember. But he couldn't. At the end, she let everything go for him. She quit her job, they got new IDs. And they got married, had a normal life afterwards." She finished smiling.

"It is inspiring." Tony commented.

"What I liked most were the little details. Like the first time they drank together, the first time they echanged I love yous, even their emotions. I don't know how she did it, but she knew how to deliver sentimental things. It's like she was there with them." She explained, "Dad used to interrupt a lot correcting her or defending the man in the story. I guess it's a guy thing." She laughed.

"Your parents were pretty admirable." He smiled.

"Anyway, what I want to say is that my life has to have meaning. I want to be someone." (Y/n) admitted.

"So you saying, you're accepting that job." Tony sighed.

"I'm not getting away from you guys, I just want to find out my place in this world." She smiled taking his cheek in her palm.

"Whatever you want, baby. Just, please, don't get yourself hurt." He pleaded.

"Don't worry, I'm a tough one to crack." She grinned.

He chuckled then said, "you know what, that story of yours does sound familiar."

"Maybe your parents told you it when you were little." She shrugged.

"I don't know." He sighed. "It doesn't matter, it's getting late. And you need sleep." He smiled at her.

"Good night." She hummed, kissing his cheek and putting her head on his chest.

"Good night, love." He squeezed her close to him.

"Ooh, new nickname. I like it." She mumbled. He just chuckled and kissed the top of her head.

Tony couldn't sleep, he had a strange feeling that he knew that story from somewhere. Not from his parents, he was sure. They were too busy to tell him stories, especially his father. Maybe his mother used to tell him bedtime stories. Perhaps it's a common bedtime story, he thought.

When he tried multiple more times to rest, and he failed, he gave up and began to get up and off the bed. He held (Y/n)'s head cautiously, trying not to wake her up. She stirred a little but got back to sleep as soon as her head met the pillow.

Calmly, he headed to the lab. If he wasn't going to sleep, better use this chance to work on his inventions.

As he was working on his silent bombs, he asked FRIDAY to do a research on the story. To know its origin. Because every story, every proverb, every lesson has a source. After a few minutes, the A.I replied.

"Boss, I haven't found any record of this children's story. However, I have found something in S.H.I.E.L.D's achives." Exclaimed the A.I.

"S.H.I.E.L.D??" He frowned.

"Yes, boss. The female spy went by Siamese, which is a breed of cats. And the male spy was called WhiteShadow, and that doesn't mean anything. They met in a small village in the Himalaya mountains, when Siamese was on a mission to retrieve WhiteShadow in 1995. After six months, Siamese resigned for unknown reasons." FRIDAY explained.

"Siamese... WhiteShadow..." Tony trailed, "yes, I remember going over that file. I found it strange and weird that an excellent agent would resign for no apparent rea- wait a second, could it be? FRIDAY, what are their real names?"

"Claudia and Robert." The intelligence replied.

"And what are (Y/n)'s parents' names?" He asked.

"Clara and Ryan."

"Okay, this must be just coincidence, right?" He stopped his work on the object.

"What's a coincidence?" A voice came from the door. Tony turned to discover Steve in his pyjamas, leaning on the glass door.

"You must be kidding me!! Of all people, (Y/n), your girlfriend, turns out to be the daughter of two skilled ex-agents of S.H.I.E.L.D!!!" Steve concluded.

"Even I can't believe it." Tony sighed.

"Son of-" Steve started.

"But we're not sure yet. I mean the names are different." Tony cut him off.

"You said, in the story, they got new IDs. Of course, they're gonna change the names, they're spies. But they are similar, I give you that." Steve argued.

"Do you think Fury knows?" Tony suddenly asked.

"Probab- That's why he wanted her on the team!!!" The captain exclaimed.

"Oh hell no!! He thinks she's gonna take over for them. Replace what S.H.I.E.L.D lost or some shit. No!! No, no, no!!" Tony hurried to one of his suits.

"Tony, what are you doing?" Steve carefully asked.

"I'm going to pay Fury a visit." Tony growled, his feet stomping the ground.

"No, you won't. It's past midnight." The patriotic man annouced.

"So? Am I Cinderella or something? Nothing you'll say will make me back away." The billionaire scoffed.

"What if (Y/n) woke up and didn't find you anywhere?" Steve smirked.

Tony glared at him while backing away from the set of suits.

"Not so genius, are we now?" Steve joked.

"Shut it, Captain Ice Cube." Tony huffed.
