Chapter Nine: This wasn't it

3rd POV:

It was nighttime when in a certain dorm with a scroll rang, the scroll belonged to Jaune Arc the leader of team JNPR, went his ringtone went off Jaune woke up and pick it up, it was a call from Ruby.

Jaune: "Hello?" He said as all he heard was distorted and scratchy sounds through it.

Jaune: "Ruby?" He asked.

(Morning (currently))

Pyrrah: "I'm sure they're fine." Pyrrah said as team JNPR were walking towards their airship for their mission.

Jaune: "You think?" He asked sounding concerned.

Nora: "Probably a butt-dial." She said skipping and being joyful as always.

Ren: "Don't worry Jaune, Team RWBY have always performed exceptionally out in the field, besides they have (Y/n) with them, and if there's anyone out there who can handle themselves better than anyone, it's him so let's just focus on our mission." He said trying to cheer up Jaune.

Nora: "Yup my brother is a powerhouse! And we're going to be deputies!" She said excited.

Jaune: "I just got this...Feeling. I-i don't know." He said.

Pyrrah: "Jaune-" before she could say anything else a syren suddenly went off in the distance in Vale as a huge smoke cloud was rising, suddenly a syren sounded from the school too.

Jaune: "We're changing our mission everyone onboard." He said sounding like a leader, everyone got onboard as he stopped Ren for a second.

Jaune: "Ren, we'll make it out to that village another time." He said as Ren smiled and nodded at him.

Jaune: "Take us into the city." He told the pilot as they took off.

In a distance, Cinder and her two henchmen, Emerald and Mercury, watching everything from Beacon.

Emerald: "You don't think...?" She asked not finishing.

Mercury: "Sure looks like it." He said.

Emerald: "That's still days away!" She said sounding like their plan fell apart.

Mercury: "So what do we do?" He asked as Cinder just remained silent and watched the smoke rising from the distance. Have their plan fallen apart?

(Meanwhile in Vale)

(Y/n) and the girls were surrounded by loads of Grimm, as they all had their weapons out and were ready to fight, the girls had expressions of worry and seriousness, (Y/n) on the other hand, had Point Break on his shoulder while he was trying to guess how much Grimm there was.

(Y/n): "Damn it!" He said frustrated.

Ruby: "What's wrong!?" Ruby asked.

(Y/n): "I thought there'd be more Grimm." He said sounding disappointed as the girls stared at him like he was crazy.

Yang: "Really!? That's what your worried about!? We could die right now!!" She shouted.

(Y/n): "There's worse ways to go, but anyways listen up, until help arrives we're all Vale has so our priority is containment, Ruby i want you on high ground, eyes on everything, call out patterns and strays." He ordered as she nodded and shot her Crescent Rose and flew to a ledge on a roof top near by.

(Y/n): "Yang, you and Blake have the perimeter, any Grimm that tries to get out of the area, you turn it back or you turn it to ash."  He said to them as they jumped off to their positions.

(Y/n): "Weiss, you can help them out too, you have to take care of the streets, use your ice and freeze them shut, nothing that's a Grimm gets out of here."  He told her.

Weiss: "What about you?" She asked.

(Y/n): "I'll keep the fighting here, there's still some civilians running around make sure they get inside somewhere safe or get out of the area." He said to her as she nodded and jumped off.

(Y/n): "Okay (Y/n) just like old times." He said to himself as he jumped down and started hitting Beowolves around sending them smashing to near by buildings killing them instantly, and just as he was about to face off against a King Taijitu suddenly an all-to -fimilar boom was heard when he saw Nora coming out of nowhere on her hammer.

Nora: "Nora Smash!!" She shouted as she smashed the King Taijitu's head on the floor killing it.

(Y/n): "Hey sis." He said as they got back to back.

Nora: "You can never stay out of trouble can you!?" She said as she blasted a Beowolf away with her hammer.

(Y/n): "You know me!" He said dodging  an Ursa's attack and then hitting it with Point Break, suddenly two Beowolves jumped out of nowhere almost at (y/n) till they were shot in the head, Ren flipped in next to the siblings.

Ren: "Too well." He said as he shot three Beowolves coming his way.

(Y/n): "If you two are here then where's Sugar Bear and Pyrrah?" He asked as he saw Pyrrah fighting off a bunch of Creeps, he looked around and saw Jaune in front of a big Ursa, (y/n) was going to go help him, but he had faith Jaune could handle himself now, And Jaune did, he slashed the Ursa a bunch of time before it fell dead.

Sun: "Nobody move! Junior Detectives!" Sun shouted hold up a fake detective badge.

Naptune: "We have badges, so you know it's official." He said holding his badge out too.

(Y/n): "Still lame guys!" (Y/n) said as he  kicked a Creep in the face hard, he then grabbed Point Break in a Golfing position and hit a Creep far away.

(Y/n): "Four!!" He said as it flew and Blake jumped up and slashed it to pieces, Sun and Neptune were left speechless.

Suddenly a huge Atlas ship pulled in with a bunch of other smaller Atlas ships as the whole gang looked up with hope and relief.

(Y/n): "I guess the Calvary is here." (Y/n) said as he put Point Break on his shoulder, an Ursa was about to attack Ruby when an airship shot it, Ruby smiled and gave the airship a salute.

Suddenly Atlesian Knights jumped out of the airships and landed in the area as they killed Grimm all around, suddenly Cinder and her two teammates entered the fight too.

(Y/n): "Cinder hi!" He shouted as he hit a Beowolf away.

Cinder: "Hello (Y/n), this is quite a mess I find you in." She said smiling and blocking attacks from an Ursa as (Y/n) slammed it to the ground.

(Y/n): "Yup that's me! Always in the middle of something!" He said happily as he stepped on a Creep's head, as Cinder giggled.

A couple feet away a Mech came out of the ground and just as (Y/n) was going to attack Zwei jumped off them mech and rammed himself Into a beowolf.

(Y/n): "Zwei!!" (Y/n) said happily as he boosted himself to the adorable Corgi, who started licking him out of joy, suddenly a airship passed over him as he saw that in it was Professor Port and Team CFVY themselves.

(Y/n): "This is about to get interesting." He smiled as he put Zwei down and they ran toward the incoming team.

Team CFVY jumped out of the airship and began bring the pain, Yatsuhashi pulled out his big, long sword (That's what she said!) And smashed it on the ground.

(Y/n): "Eh, My ground smashes are still better." He said to Zwei.

Fox and Velvet beat beat some Beowolves and an Ursa together, man Fox punched the Ursa so hard not only was it thrown back but it exploded, sending spikes all over the place and impaling near by Grimm as Coco and Yatsuhashi blocked them like they were nothing when they finished Coco came out of nowhere and slapped Fox's butt.

Coco: "Nice hussel Fox, Good work." She said as she walked up to a big Beowolf.

Coco: "You just destroyed my favorite clothing shop, Prepare to die." She said as it went to try to attack her but she used her purse and smacked it's paw away as she kicked it where the sun don't shine.

(Y/n): "You know he's not having pups ever." (Y/n) said smiling as Coco smacked the Beowolf in the head with her purse killing it, a bunch of other Grimm came to try to attack her as she smacked them around and was almost struck by a Deathstalker, but she backflipped away, Velvet came to help and was about to pull something out when Coco stopped her.

Coco: "Hey come on you spent all semester building that up don't waste it here." She said to her as it peeked (Y/n)'s interest.

(Y/n): "Gotta ask her about that." He said smiling wider, as Coco walked up and presented her weapon to the world.

Her gatling gun litraully ripped all the Grimm apart like a butter, (y/n) was in a state of Shock mixed with amazment as he saw the view.

(Y/n): "I'm so glad, you can't understand what I'm about to say Zwei but, I'm touching myself tonight." He told Zwei, as he looked around and saw Port and Oobleck fighting the last Grimm as he also saw Goodwitch coming out of nowhere and repair the blown up street cuz of the train and it looked like nothing ever happened at all, much to (Y/n) amazement again.

(Y/n): "Definitely touching myself tonight." He said.

(Five minutes later) (Y/n)'s POV:

The Grimm were whip, the streets were cleaned up, and there was no catualties whatsoever. I was standing in the middle with everyone as we all saw Torchwick being arrested.

Torchwick: "Oh I can't believe you caught me, you've shown me the error of my ways." He said sarcasticly to Emerald and Mercury as I walked up to him myself.

(Y/n): "Have to say dad, I'm a bit disappointed that this was your so called "Big-One", honestly." I said crossing my arms with pride.

Torchwick: "Oh my boy.." He said as he pushed the Knight a bit away and leaned on to me as the androids and everyone reacted drawing their weapons.

(Y/n): "Its fine! He can't do anything." I said reassuring everyone as they put down their weapons as I smiled, his head was next to my ear.

Torchwick: "I'll be honest kiddo, I never thought much about you, other than your a dumb brat who gets in the way of things, but now I see my mistake, you started from the bottom and made yourself stronger, now climbing high as ever, and take it from me, that's admirable, and yes this was...a fail in my part but we all make mistakes don't we?" He said that last part in a rather serious and dark tone.

(Y/n): "What's that suppose to mean?" I asked him sounding just as serious.

Torchwick: "My boy...you may think you've won, but do you really think this was the "Big-One"? All of this was a storm and congrats on making it through it, but what's coming is a hellstorm, and it's going to rain down hell-fire, and you? You'll finually suffer true pain and misery, by the time you realize you could have prevented this it'll be too late." He said smirking as the androids pulled him away but not before he said something that triggered me.

Torchwick: "Looks like the joke was on you kiddo!!" He shouted laughing as I tried to charge at him but suddenly Ruby and Yang held me back.

Yang: "Don't listen to him (Y/n), he's going to jail for the longest he can't hurt anyone no more." She said as I kept looking at him as they flew off on an airship.

(Timeskip)

My team and I were at the edge of Beacon just sitting and relaxing, well.. they were at least.

Yang: "Well, we did it." Yang said sounding relieved.

Blake: "We did it." Blake repeated also in a relieved tone too.

Weiss: "If we don't  get extra-credit for that, I'm going to be seriously disappointed." She said complaining.

Yang: "Weiss, a two headed snake literally crushed a bakery, I wouldn't count on it." She told her.

Ruby: "Plus I mean we didn't solve everything, alot of people were hurt and we still don't even know why they did this or who that mysterious girl was." She said making a point.

Weiss: "Well not every story has a neat and tidy ending." She said which made me feel even worse inside but I didn't want to show it, so I just kept a emotionless expression.

Blake: "We might not have all the answers, but we do have a lot of dangerous people behind bars, and I think that's something we can be proud of." She said, it honestly didn't make me feel better at all.

Ruby: "Yeah! And if anyone tries this again we'll be there to stop them." She said proudly, I wish I had my confidence like that right now but...once again that Torchwick got to me even locked up.

Yang: "Yay team work, camaraderie, Good guys, go team alright good job." She said tired and laid down a bit, but sat up again.

Yang: "So what now?" She asked.

Weiss: "I suggest we train for the tournament, but...i think we have it covered." She said.

Blake: "So what then...?" She asked.

Ruby: "Uh, time for bed?" She suggested.

Weiss: "Oh please yes!"

Blake: "Absolutely."

Yang: "I'm going to sleep forever." She said as we all got up.

(Y/n): "I'm not going to bed." I said sternly as they all looked at me concerned.

Yang: "Don't give into fear (Y/n), your too strong to let what Torchwick said get to you, what did he say to you anyway?" She asked stopping and looking at me concerned as the other girls.

(Y/n): "No, you all deserve to rest and relax, go rest, don't worry about me, besides I'm not in the tournament anyway so focus on that." I said as I used Point Break and boosted myself else where before they could say anything else, I love my girls, but I know Torchwick, threats like those aren't bluffs this...was something real.

Something is coming. And I'm going to try to find out and I know where to start.

3rd POV:

Ozpin was sitting at his desk while on his desk was a scroll that had four individuals talking, it was a councilor.

Conuncilor: "Ozpin, Ozpin!" He shouted.

Ozpin: "Yes Councilmen?" He said.

Councilor: "You've left us with no choice; the Vytal Fesatval tournament can not be broadcast, let alone held, if we can't ensure the safety of the citizens." The Councilor said as Ozpin sipped his Coffee.

Councilor: "Therefore we have reached out to Atlas council, and together have decided that the best option is to appoint General Ironwood  as head of security for this event." He declared.

Ironwood: "Thank you Councilmen, our kingdom is happy to lend as much troops as it takes to ensure that this event runs smoothly and safely as possiable." He said.

Councilor: "And we thank you General." He said.

Ozpin: "Will that be all?" Ozpin asked.

Councilor: "For now! But after the festival comes to a close, we are going to have a serious discussion regarding your position at Beacon Academy, General Ironwood's reports have left us all rather...Concerned, im sure you understand." The Councilor said as he signed out.

Ironwood: "This is the right move Ozpin, I promise, I will keep our people safe, you have to trust me." He said as he signed out.

(Y/n): "Doesn't really look like you trust him Professor." (Y/n) said coming out of the shadow of the room.

Ozpin: "How much did you hear?" He asked (Y/n).

(Y/n): "Enough to know, you and others are keeping secrets." He said as he walked up to the desk.

Ozpin: "Why are you here, you should be resting." He told him.

(Y/n): "For what, im not in the tournament remember?" He said as Ozpin didn't show any reaction or expression to his comment.

Ozpin: "Then what is it you want?" He asked.

(Y/n): "I need answers, and you can help me get them." He said seriously.

Ozpin: "What answers do you seek?" He asked.

(Y/n): "I want to know what's coming? I want to know what you, Ironwood, those Councilmen know, that us students here in Beacon don't? What you won't tell us." He said sternly.

Ozpin: "(Y/n) I don't have to share anything with you, and even if I did what would you be able to do?" He asked him.

(Y/n): "Whatever I have to, to protect my friends and family!" He said smacking his hands on Ozpin's desk.

Ozpin: "I'm sorry (Y/n) but for your safety...I cannot tell you." He told him.

(Y/n): "Ozpin...youve given me the chance that will make my dream of being a Huntsmen come true, I owe you everything for that but I need you to trust me, Torchwick told me something is coming and I don't want to sit around and wait for whatever that is to come, I can't, so If I have to give up being a Huntsmen or even a student here for my friends and family to live, I will, this school, it's staff and faculty, it's student and classmate they mean alot to me, but my friends, teammates, and my family mean more, so if your going to kick me out of this school, do so but I'm going out there to find out what I can." (Y/n) told him as he was about to walk away.

Ozpin: "Very well then, (Y/n) Valkyrie At this moment I have an assignment for you, would you care to listen?" He asked.

(Y/n): "I'm listening.." He said.

(Meanwhile else well...)

Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury were on a rooftop near the area where the gang fought earlier.

Cinder: "All in all, I call today a success." She said smirking.

Emerald: "Those stupid kids really made a mess of things, especially that Valkyrie guy, he urks me, playing hero, I mean we don't even know what Torchwick told him, we should eliminate him." She said sounding irritated.

Mercury: "Are you sure your not just into him or something?" He said as Emerald punch his arm.

Mercury: "Anyway the real issue is that a lot of Faunus did not make it out of those tunnels, how do we know if  the White Fang will still listen to us?" He asked.

??: "They won't, But they'll listen to me, and you don't have to worry about that Valkyrie, I'll kill him myself, one Powerhouse to another." HE said.
