10 - Sudden

"Hello?" Giyu said with a raised brow as he sees Shinobu standing outside his condo unit. "Hi." She blankly said before walking inside. Giyu tilts his head, still clearly confused, before closing the door

"Couldn't you have at least told me your intentions before entering?" Giyu asked before seeing Shinobu looking through his drawers

"I assume you're looking for something?" Shinobu paused what she was doing for a moment. "Obviously." She rolled her eyes before continuing

"What exactly? I can probably help you know" Giyu said, approaching the girl. He taps her shoulder after he gets no response

"Can you stop disturbing me?" Shinobu asked with her usual bite and hostility. Giyu raised his hands up and backed up before sitting back down and going on his phone

After five minutes of aimless searching, Shinobu sighs and postures up before turning to her ex

"It's a necklace from Kanao. She wanted to sell her bracelet, but a necklace came with the set, and it would sell for way more as a set, apparently." Shinobu explained the situation. Giyu gestured her to continue

"Silver with a pendant that looks like a black diamond kind of." Giyu nodded before standing up and going to his room

After not even a minute, he came out with the necklace and the box it came with

"All you needed to do was ask." Giyu pointed out before approaching Shinobu. "Yeah whatever." She dismissed

As she was about to grab the box, Giyu pulled it away. Shinobu raised a brow and looked at Giyu

"Give it." She was with a fake smile. "No can do. You didn't say thank you." Giyu also showed a fake smile making Shinobu roll her eyes

"Thank you, Giyu." Shinobu said with fake enthusiasm before her face dropped to an unamused one again. "Now give it." Shinobu snatched it as soon as it was in arms reach

Before Shinobu could even take her first step to leave, Giyu grabbed her wrist

"It's almost lunch." He said, pointing to the clock. Shinobu raised a brow. "So?"

"Why don't you eat first." Giyu said with a shrug. "I cooked something fancy." Shinkbu was about to say no until he said that

"You? Cooking something fancy?" Shinobu broke into a brief laugh. "You can't cook anything with more than five ingredients, honey." Shinobu and Giyu both froze at the sudden endearment

She meant it in a teasing way but she could definitely see how that wouldn't be the most appropriate thing to say to your ex

Giyu faked a cough before walking to the kitchen, so Shinobu followed

"I've gotten better, I swear." Giyu said, lifting a lid from a pan. Shinobu took a peek and saw some sort of a sausage pasta dish.

"You followed a recipe?" Shinobu gave a shocked look when Giyu shook his head. It didn't look like a simple dish, so no recipe is pretty impressive

"Okay, let's see it."

"Why see? Aren't we tasting?"

"Corny." She said even though her lips curved into an amused smile

Shinobu sat down at the dining table after getting two plates and two sets of utensils. Giyu smiled, amused at how Shinobu knew his condo unit better than a lot of his other friends, probably

Giyu got the pan and set it down on the dining table before sitting down too

"This is the dish I cook most frequently." Giyu said with a proud smile. Shinobu got her serving and took a bite

Giyu looked at her expectedly, but her face didn't show much pleasure from eating. His smile gradually bended into a small frown

Shinobu was laughing internally at how good her acting was until she saw Giyu's proud smile disappear

Her eyes widened, and she grabbed his hand that was on the table. She wasn't quite sure why, but she did so

"I was just joking, Giyu. It's actually really good." Shinobu tried to assure but it seemed Giyu wasn't convinced as the smile he put up was obviously fake

"Come on, Giyu. What would it take for me to convince you." Shinobu said with an awkward chuckle, panic starting to set in.

She scolded herself internally for removing such a pure smile from Giyu's face

"No, it's fine. I'm not that good of a cook anyway. I know that." Shinobu frowned and stood up, surprising Giyu. "Who said you weren't good? This is genuinely amazing, okay? I would beat up anyone who said you aren't good."

Giyu started laughing at his ex's shenanigans to cheer him up.

"You don't need to do that, Shinobu. Just finish your plate." He said, gesturing her to sit down. "W‐were you actually offended, though?" She stammered after sitting down

"A little bit..." Shinobu bit her lip in guilt. "But it seems obvious you were just being a bitch." Shinobu should be offended, but she could only smile at Giyu laughing at what he said

"Is it actually good, though?" Giyu asked after laughing to the eating Shinobu. "Surprisingly." Giyu smiled, contented

He couldn't say it to her, but it was always Giyu's dream to cook for Shinobu like how she cooked for him in the past

"Won't you eat?" Shinobu asked, pointing at his untouched plate. "Oh yeah." Shinobu laughed

"Idiot. How could you forget to eat?"

Because I was looking at you

He wanted to say before shaking his head. Maybe another time
