*not edited*
Melui's POV
I looked at Thranduil and he nodded his head. I look forward knowing that this is the last time I will ever see this dreaded place. Someone hands me a torch and I gladly take it.
"Today is the day," Thranduil shouts into the sea of warriors, "the day that we show that we cannot be defeated, to show who rules these lands." Everybody started to shout in agreement. "Your prince has been captured, and today we get him back!" The yells are deafening.
"Attack!" Thranduil yells. We charge forward some with torches others with weapons, then people like me with both. Just looking at us you can tell we came for one purpose, to kill.
I take my torch and light the tents of my father's men on fire, it travels fast keeping anyone inside hostage. The screams of men burning alive fills my ears, the smell of burning flesh blocks my senses. I only want to find my sister and get out of here, to get back to Linelle. My sweet annoying Linelle.
"Melui watch your back," I heard Thranduil yell from somewhere in the battle. I quickly duck down and avoid a sword coming my way. I take out my own and smash it into the guys forehead. I jump off my horse and send him to safety before I continue to fight. I smash and slash anything that gets in my way. Most are of the bandits are dead, but the ones that are alive are still going strong, they are not giving up anytime soon.
I turn around and my sword meets someone else's. I look into my sister's eyes and smile, she's alive! But her eyes hold sadness.
Her eyes widen, "MELUI BEHIND YOU!"
The burning that spreads through my body is like no other, I fall to the ground. I can no longer feel my legs and there is searing pain in my back. I start to breath heavily, not able to catch my breath.
Everything starts to become blurry as I see my sister fighting above me, protecting me. I should be doing that I should be protecting ber.
"Eda!"
Eda's POV
I watch as a man burys his sword in Melui's back effectively paralyzing him. I immediately start to attack swinging my sword in every direction. I hit him once in his stomach, he falls to ground blood pouring from his mouth. I slit his throat and run over to Melui's side. He had been calling me for a while now.
I bend down next to him and wipe all the blood from his face. He looks and me and smiles, bringing his hand up to my face. "I couldn't ask for a better sister " he says weakly.
"And I couldn't ask for a better brother," I say as I put his sword in his hand. He tightly grips it and gives me a weak smile.
"I'm so sorry I wasn't there for you when you were growing up," he says regret clear in his eyes. "I didn't see the evil that lies within our father."
"It wasn't your fault, it was never your fault. Don't blame yourself for anything."I say as tears start to fall.
"At leat you have Farin," he says.
I start to sob, "they killed him Melui, he's gone."
I heard him take take a deep breath "I'm..."
"You can't leave me," I say. "I can't walk this earth alone."
"My dear Eda we will meet again someday, I promise," he said before his eyes became dull and his soul left him. I kissed his forehead and put his sword in both hands, placing it over his heart. I took my sword and started to look, look for one man in particular.
I killed everyone in my way without a second glance. I had to find him.
When I saw him I screamed and charged. His sword met met mine and he smiled his malicious smile. "I was waiting for you my dear," he said. "But I don't think I want to kill you by sword, your broken heart will do that ten times more painfully."
"Well too bad I came to kill you," I say before lifting my sword and bringing it down on his head. I don't know if he didn't expect it or he wanted to die, but my sword hit his skull killing him.
Once his men saw that their leader was dead they scattered, making them an easier target. And within a few minutes they were all dead.
"You can't do this to me, I am innocent!" I heard my mother scream. I turned around and saw her being dragged away by some of Thranduil's men. She would be spending the rest of her life locked away in the dungeons.
I then turned to see an elf with blonde hair being carried towards a carriage. "LEGOLAS!" I scream and start to run towards him. I am suddenly pulled back by two arms covered covered in armour.
I turn armour round and see Thranduil. "Listen your highness I promise I will disappear just let me see if he is alive, please your majesty," I say falling onto my knees, literally begging.
He sighed and grabbed the bridge of his nose, then looked down at me. "Get up Eda," he says before pulling me up from the ground. "Eda, Legolas is not dead, I promise you that." I sigh in relief. "And I'm not going to make you disappear again. It's obvious that he loves you and I shouldn't take that away from him."
I smiled so wide, I'm surprised I didn't break my face. I launch myself onto Thranduil and start to thank him.
He gently laughs and pushes me off of him, "I think you have a friend that wants to see you," he says motioning to a distressed looking Linelle.
I run over to her and bring her into a tight hug. She immediately hugs back. After a while we pull apart, "Where is Melui?" She asks.
I look down, the waterworks are starting to make another appearance. Once she sees my tear stained face she gets the message and falls to the ground crying. I go right next to her and cry with her, mourning over our loss.
Linelle's POV
*the next day*
I walked through the field of the fallens. The menacing grey gravestones stood high off the ground in all of their dark glory. Making this once beautiful field a place for mourning and sadness. Some even say souls still linger here, to finish what they started. I don't believe those tales. Because he didn't get to start anything, and I haven't felt his presence.
I finally got to the stone I was looking for. The dirt still fresh from yesterday's burial. I fell to my knees and that's when the tears started to flow. I just couldn't stop them.
They were tears for my lover, my life.
I don't know how some elves get over death so easily. Every time I think about him my heart rips in half and the tears start to flow. I can't imagine a life without him by my side.
We didn't get far into our relationship. So many things were holding us back from our possibility at love. But no, that can't happen. There can never be a happy ever after for me. Everything gets ruined before it gets a chance to unfold. And then I'm left here, on this dreadful earth, to suffer from all my loses. To think of all the things life has to offer, that I will never get.
I place lilies on the new grave, tears still pouring out of my eyes.
"Why did you have to leave me? Why did you have to leave me here alone," I ask. What am I doing its a pile of dirt!
I stand up and kick the ground next to the grave. "Why can't something go right for once!" I scream. I fall to my knees as a pain jolts through my body. It rips and mangles my body, making me scream out in agony.
"What is happening to me!" I yell out, hoping someone will hear my cries.
I scream again as my muscles start to contract. It feels as if I'm being squeezed. I curl into the fetal position trying to get rid of the pain tearing through my body.
I look up to see a white light. Then he walks out of it, "join me my love," he says.
Then I realize... I'm dying.
I reach for his extended hand and gently grab it. He gives my a heart warming smile and walks into the light with me by his side.
And for once I'm happy.
