Chapter 13

I apologize for not uploading yesterday

I don't own Death Note

Mello's POV

After the incident with Razia, Jade's whole demeanor changed. She was distant, colder, and angrier. She sat with Near still, but when she looked at him, she was shooting daggers with her eyes. One day I got tired of it. I approached Jade, and asked her what had happened with Near.

"He knows." Those were the only two words she said. She walked away, leaving me with a million thoughts racing through my mind. Near knew about her being a vampire? How? It must have been that night with Razia. He must have seen. I wondered if Near had told anybody. Surely, he wouldn't be that stupid.

A few days later was my 15th birthday. We celebrated it by going out to town. Wammy's house was fairly close to a fairly large town, so it wasn't that long of a walk. We all (me, Matt, and Jade) met in the front hall on a Saturday, (my birthday) and snuck out. I doubted anyone would miss us, but if they did, it would be worth it.

I was decked out in full leather, Matt in his striped shirt, jeans, and goggles, and Jade in a ridiculous amount of black and leather. Her headphones were draped around her neck, and because of her height, non-aging, and the fact that she was wearing a bunch more Goth makeup than usual, she looked like she was 16. But, I suppose 15 year olds aren't supposed to be dressed in full leather and have a gun as well, but, too bad.

Walking up the street like that, and with Matt smoking, I assume we looked like extreme hoodlums, London edition, but we were cool with that. Matt stopped to buy more cigarettes, and we were on our way. Jade insisted we stop and play a game of laser tag, (I have no idea why) and actually, it was kinda fun.

There was pushing, shoving, cursing, scaling things, screaming, jumping off of things, gymnastics, and sacrificing each other to get to the target. She even used her phone to hack into the speakers, and in seconds, I was hearing Linkin Park, Falling in Reverse, And Black Veil Brides blasting all around us. We pretty much broke every safety rule they laid out, and ended up getting kicked out, laughing hysterically.

We ran down to the chocolate shop, and with Jade's money, we basically bought the entire store. After that, we headed down to a café to et something to drink. I got (you guessed it!) hot chocolate. She got (bright freaking red) apple juice, perhaps her idea of a joke, and Matt got hot chocolate too. She waited for our orders inside, while we went outside and found a table. We were the only ones outside, and the café wasn't that crowded inside anyway.

Suddenly, a bunch of teenagers across the street started yelling at us and coming towards us. They were a lot bigger and older then we were, but I was willing to bet none of them had a gun. Or a Jade. One of the boys sneered at us.

"F*****s!" He yelled, smirking.

(I'm sorry. I really feel unacceptable for using this language, and a greatly apologize. If it wasn't important to the story, I certainly wouldn't put it here)

A bunch of the other kids started yelling the same thing, and one even threw a rock at us. I got up, ready to punch or possible shoot someone, but Matt held me back. As He was holding me back, the biggest, (and ugliest) walked up until he was right near us,

"You got a problem (insert curse word)? Need your boyfriend to hold you back?" He laughed like he thought this was real funny. He didn't think it was so funny when I punched him across the nose. His nose was bleeding, and he lunged at me, punching me in the head....

I'm cutting this chapter in half and I'll get you the other half later. It's late and I'm tired.
