Chapter 14
14:22, 14 April 2022Hello friends. I apologize for no chapter last night. I went out to get dinner really late, and by the time I came back, it was too late to write. Therefore, I will attempt to do 2 chapters today. One for today, and one for last night.
I don't own Death Note.
Mello's POV
He punched me in the head, and shoved me against the wall, spitting in my face. That was going to leave a mark on my head. One of the others grabbed Matt, and threw him into another wall, hard. He slumped down, his eyes rolling back in his head, a very large, very scary, very bloody gash left on his head. This was serious. I reached for my gun, and did the one thing that I knew would work.
I tilted my head up and screamed. "JADE!"
The boy slammed me against the wall again. My vision was starting to get foggy. I commanded myself not to pass out. I kicked the boy hard in the stomach, and he released me, yelling. I whipped out my gun and shot him in the foot. I wanted to bust his worthless head, but I wasn't a murderer. Jade materialized next to me. She saw Matt with the big bloody gash on his forehead, and me with my black eye and gun. She knew what to do. I could tell.
This time she worked quickly and methodically. This wasn't like when she was fighting Saber or Razia. She knew that there was danger there, but it was limited. She also knew that for hurting them, there would be consequences. Here, it was a different story. She went after the leader first.
She stomped on his foot where I had shot him. He howled in pain, and she slammed him into the wall, punching him full force in the head. His eyes rolled up, and she moved on to the next. She kicked him in the stomach, and slammed him into the ground. There were only 8 guys who attacked us. 3 ran after the leader got shot in the foot, and Jade demolished the remaining five.
The girl who had played laser tag and laughed with us earlier was nowhere to be seen. Her eyes were cold, and red. She bent over next to Matt, and looked at the gash in his head. She whipped out her phone and turned to me.
"Mello. I'm going to call 911. I know it's risky, but even with my wings; I won't be able to get him back to Wammy's in time. We're going to go to the hospital. I need you to do exactly as I say."
I nodded, incredibly worried about my best friend. Suddenly, the manager came out of the restaurant with our orders. She gasped when she saw all the guys and Matt laying there unconscious. Thankfully, I had managed to put away my gun.
Jade put on a terrified little girl face. "Quick! Call 911! Call and ambulance! Call someone!" she burst into fake tears. The manager ran back inside as fast as his legs would carry him.
Shut up. I know it's a short chapter and a cliffhanger, but you'll get the next one soon.
