Three

Kai couldn't sleep no matter how hard he tried. The question Miwa asked him kept repeating in his head. There was still something  he didn't try tough, That bench in the park he always sleeps on.  He put on some decent clothes and went out.

He took his time. Just walking slowly, enjoying the midnight air. The moon was shining brightly, brighter than any other night. When he reached the park, he was surprised. Misaki was sitting on the bench he usually sleeps on, reading her book. He was stunned for a while until looked up from her book.

" Kai? What are you doing here?" Her face showed shock. 

Kai didn't know what to say or do. He just wanted to get some sleep then she showed up. Misaki looked back to her book.

" Forget it. You'll say ' None of your business' anyway."

" Actually I was just going to ask you the same thing."

" Slept to early, then woke up in the middle of the night. Are you planning on sitting down?" She asked while she made some space for him. Kai sat down hesitantly.

There was just awkward silence. They were never ones to talk much, and they usually acknowledge each with nods instead of real greetings. Misaki couldn't help but feel self conscious. It was the first time alone with Kai and she couldn't concentrate on her book.  

Kai snatched her book away again. " Stop reading, will you? It's getting on my nerves."

" Reading is a good thing, you should do it too. Give it back!"  She said, trying to reach the book.

" I don't want to be the only one feeling awkward."

" Since when have you been acting like this?"

That question made Kai pause for a moment. Since when did he act like this?

Misaki managed to take her book back while Kai was dreaming. Kai focused his attention back at her.

" You look like you've seen a ghost." She laughed softly. " I don't think anything's wrong with changing, I like you better like this."

" She's an amazing cardfighter, she's beautiful and has a great personality." That line suddenly entered Kai's head.

" Really?" He raised and eyebrow at her.

Misaki blushed and looked away when she realized what she said. " Y-y-yeah, it's nice that you finally opened up."

Kai looked away with a slight blush. " Did you bring your deck?" He tried to change the topic.

" Actually yes."  She replied.

" Let's cardfight then."
