chapter eighteen

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Johnny and Hayden exited Johnny's limo as they had arrived at Hayden's posh apartment block.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"You excited for the dance tomorrow?" Hayden asked as they walked towards the doors. Johnny shrugged, in all honesty he wasn't looking forward to it at all. Which was totally unusual for Johnny.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"You okay dude?" Hayden asked as he noticed his best friend's sudden change of character.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Yeah I'm fine." Johnny replied, brushing it off. "What about you?" He cleared his throat. "Do you have a date?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Hayden looked down. "Nah." He answered blandly.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Johnny tilted his head. "What about Annie?" He questioned.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Hayden looked up. "Annie and I are just friends." He spoke.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Johnny raised his eyebrows. "You sure?" He asked.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Positive." Hayden  told firmly.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Coincidentally two attractive brunettes holding millions of shopping bags came walking by.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Hayden!" Annie squealed as she ran up to him, Kenzie slugging close behind, the sight of Johnny had brought her whole mood down.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Hey, Annie." Hayden smiled at his friend. Kenzie caught up and stood by Annie, her and Johnny stared daggers into each other's eyes. The tension and awkwardness was clear.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"What are you doing here?" Hayden asked, swiping his hand through his brown hair.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Oh Kenzie and I went shopping for the dance." Annie spoke.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Johnny smiled. "I'm sure you'll look smoking in your dress tomorrow night." He but his lip as he eyed Annie up and down.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Uh thanks?" Annie replied, slightly confused.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"You're welcome." Johnny smirked flirtatiously. Kenzie furrowed her brows. What the hell was Johnny doing? She held in her anger, but she was sure she would burst into flames anytime soon.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Come in Annie, lets go!" She yanked Annie's arm, dragging her away. "That asshole." She muttered. What was he trying to do? Make her jealous, by flirting with her best friend. Kenzie frowned. "Hey, I'll catch up with you later." She told Annie. Annie shrugged. "Okay." And she walked away.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie watched from a distance as Johnny entered back into his limo and Hayden walked into his apartment block. She smirked as she made her way to the doors, opening them. She watched as Hayden entered the elevator. She waited a while before walking over to the lift and pressing the button and entering, pressing the button to Hayden's room.
