chapter fourteen

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie and Annie walked down the footpath on their way to school. The cooling Autumn breeze combed threw both of their brunette hair, and Kenzie wore a giant smile on her face.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"You look happy today." Annie spoke, at the practically glowing girl. Kenzie shrugged.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Why?" Annie quired and she got closer to Kenzie. Kenzie smiled and looked at her.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I don't know." She giggled. Annie was right, she was in a very unusual mood. She turned her eyes back in front of her.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Usually it's because something's good with a boy." Annie stated. A smirk forming in corners of her lips. Kenzie didn't answer. "Is it someone you met at the party?" Annie questioned. "You did seem to disappear quite early into the night."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie bit her lip, she couldn't let anyone find out about her and Johnny, not even Annie.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"You know you can tell me anything Kenz, I wouldn't judge." Annie sighed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Sure you wouldn't" Kenzie muttered under her breath.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Look Kenz, I know about you and Johnny."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie stopped in her tracks, like she had just walked into a sea of glue. "What?" She asked slowly.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Annie looked down. "I know that you two hooked up last night."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie furrowed her brows, before taking a moment to say something. "How?" She asked as calmly as she could, not wanting to burst into flames.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Annie pressed her lips together. "Lauren saw you two, and she told me."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie rested her head on the palm of her hand. "I don't know what I was thinking." She groaned. "I mean once was a mistake, but twice-"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Wait you slept with him twice!?" Annie interrupted and the two continued to walk.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Yeah." Kenzie mumbled. "Does anyone else know." She worried. Annie shook her head. "Good." Kenzie replied. "That's the way it's gonna stay."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The pair were almost at the front gates to their school by now. "Kenz, I just have one question." Annie started. 'Do you like him?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Kenzie looked at her as if she had just told her she was going to kill someone. "Of course I don't, I hate Johnny Orlando." She huffed. Annie raised her eyebrows and tilted her head.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I do!" Kenzie assured. Annie shrugged, she obviously didn't believe her best friend.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Fine. I'll prove it to you, today." Kenzie told.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀On the other side of the road two blonde siblings were walking. "So where did you go last night?" Lauren Orlando asked her older brother. "I was looking everywhere for you to tell you the news about mom." She ended.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Uh-I was busy." Johnny stumbled.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Lauren chuckled. "Yeah I know."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Lauren and Johnny were close, very close in fact, a lot closer than most siblings were. They kind of had to be. After their father left them at such a young age he left their mother alone, with two children. It wasn't long until she started getting ill, and when they finally went to the doctors she was diagnosed with cancer. They really had no other choice than to stick together. They were each others rock, their safe place.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"What is that suppose to mean?" Johnny puzzled.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"What?" Lauren furrowed her brows.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I know." Johnny mocked Lauren as he spoke. Lauren smiled, before looking up at Johnny.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"I saw you with Kenzie, Johnny." She sighed. Johnny's eyes widened. "What were you thinking?" Lauren exclaimed. "You always go on and on about how despicable she is, and she completely embarrassed me in front of the whole cheer team." She crossed her arms.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"It's not like that." Johnny told.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Then what's it like?" Lauren questioned. But Johnny didn't know how to put it into words, he wasn't the type of guy who expressed his feelings very well, or even managed to feel feelings in general. There were a few moments of silence before Lauren widened her eyes, figuring out the reason behind Johnny's lack of talking.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"You don't love her do you?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀He looked at her, his eyes soft and bit his lip.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"Johnny?" Lauren urged.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀"No." He spoke. "No of course I don't."⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Lauren sighed as the pair crossed the road and began to walk into their school.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀She didn't believe him.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀✨⭐️✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀[ a/n some teach me how to write please haha im so shit ugh ]
