"Cut it out, Yibo. I’m not falling for your tricks," Gu Wei said as he picked up his phone, relieved to see that Haoxuan had already ended the call. He glanced back at Yibo. "Thanks," he said before heading back inside. Erod secretly smiled, lost in thought about the conversation he’d had with his friend earlier.

Flashback to Yibo on the road:

"Hello?"

"Why are you calling at this hour? Is something wrong?" the person on the other line asked.

"No, nothing's wrong. I just called to keep myself awake. I'm driving right now," Yibo replied, surprising the other person.

"At this time?" the person asked, suspicious.

"Yeah," Yibo answered briefly, and both fell silent for a moment.

After a few minutes, the person on the other end spoke, catching Eros off guard. "You already know that Gu Wei is Xiao Zhan, why don't you tell him that you already know the truth? Do you want to wait until it's too late and regret not saying anything?"

Eros sighed, hesitating to respond. "He's happy now with someone else. I don’t want to mess that up. Besides, there’s no guarantee I'll be around for long. What's the point in telling him if I’m just going to disappear from his life again?" he finally said.

"Speaking of being stubborn, why did you change your mind about your surgery? Are you out of your mind?" the person asked angrily.

"I deserve all of this," Yibo said softly.

"Deserve? Do you deserve to fight for your life for years, only to face another battle now?" the person replied, frustrated.

"I'm almost at Mom's house. Bye," Eros said, not waiting for a reply before ending the call.

End of Flashback

"It’s better if they don’t know," Eros muttered to himself as he started cooking.

Meanwhile, when Gu Wei entered the room, A-Yuan was already awake. Gu Wei went over to him. "I’m so happy to see you here," he said, hugging A-Yuan, who hugged him back tightly.

"Thank goodness your dad thought to pick you up," Gu Wei added.

After their embrace, A-Yuan looked up at Gu Wei, as if he had something on his mind but was hesitant to speak.

"Do you think there’s still a chance you and Dad could get back together?" A-Yuan asked, surprising Gu Wei. "I’d be okay living in a small house as long as I have both of you with me," he added.

Gu Wei held A-Yuan's hand. "Can you give Nana some time to think? A lot has happened, baby radish, and there are things Nana can't explain to you," he said, averting his gaze from A-Yuan. But their conversation was interrupted when they heard a car pull up in front of Yibo's house. They quickly went outside and saw Eros emerging from the house, so they followed him.

"Who’s that?" Eros asked, looking at the woman standing outside the car with a suitcase. Gu Wei and A-Yuan exchanged glances. "Who are they?" Erod asked again, and when the woman noticed Gu Wei and A-Yuan watching them, she immediately called out to Eros. "Chen Yu!"

Eros was startled and quickly turned around to see Gu Wei looking puzzled. "Hehe, just kidding,  I didn’t recognize you," Eros said, opening the door.

"Do you know her?" Gu Wei asked A-Yuan, who shook his head. "I’ve never seen her before. Maybe she’s Dad’s friend," he said, still watching the two people outside. "But your dad didn’t recognize her right away," Gu Wei replied, his voice tinged with suspicion. "You know, last night, Dad asked me who I was too," A-Yuan added, still focused on what was happening outside.

Gu Wei looked at him, about to ask more, but stopped when Eros and the woman reached the door. "You have company here, wait, wait, is that..." Before she could finish speaking, Eros quickly covered the woman’s mouth, causing Gu Wei to raise an eyebrow. "Are they really that close?" Gu Wei wondered to himself, noticing Eros glaring at the woman.

"Hi, I’m Mianmian," the woman said, extending her hand for a handshake. Gu Wei looked at her from head to toe, pausing at Mianmian’s raised hand as she waited for him to shake it. "I’m Gu Wei," Gu Wei said, finally shaking her hand, but he stopped when the woman’s eyes widened in shock.

"Gu Wei? Are you sure you're Gu Wei?" Mianmian asked, raising an eyebrow. Gu Wei suddenly felt uneasy, sensing something was wrong, so he quickly withdrew his hand. "Gu Wei?" Yibo and A-Yuan both looked at Mianmian.

"Are you really sure you're Gu Wei?" Mianmian asked again, noticing Gu Wei's discomfort. Eros quickly changed the subject. "This is my son, A-Yuan," Eros introduced A-Yuan, who beamed with happiness. It was the first time he saw his father proudly introduce him to someone else.

"Your son is so cute, just like you," Mianmian said, glancing at Gu Wei, who was starting to sweat.

"Chen Yu, maybe you should go out and buy something to eat," Mianmian suggested, which made Eros raise an eyebrow, as if asking her what she was planning. Mianmian quickly understood. "Don’t worry, I won’t rat you out to your first love," she joked, earning a glare from Eros. He then invited A-Yuan to step outside, but before leaving, he approached Gu Wei.

"Even though she’s a doctor, she’s got a few screws loose, so don’t believe everything she says. I’ll be back soon," Eros said, kissing Gu Wei on the forehead in front of Mianmian and A-Yuan. Gu Wei's eyes widened, but before he could say anything, Yibo and A-Yuan had already left.

After they were gone, the room fell silent as Gu Wei and Mianmian stood there. After a moment, Mianmian broke the silence by asking, "Are you really Gu Wei?" causing Gu Wei to look at her but remain silent. "The Gu Wei I knew is dead," she added, making Gu Wei's eyes widen in shock.

Meanwhile, as Eros and A-Yuan were walking, A-Yuan suddenly asked a question that caught Eros off guard. "Dad, do you like Uncle Superhero?"

Eros looked at him in surprise. "What do you mean by that? A-Yuan, is there something you're hiding from me? I know I haven’t been a good father to you, and I’m sorry for that," Eros said with genuine regret.

A-Yuan stopped walking and sat down near a tree. "Dad, I’ve never held any grudge against you, even though you always prioritized Andro over me," A-Yuan said, his words piercing Yibo's heart as he listened. Yibo sat down beside A-Yuan. "I’m sorry for everything. I know saying sorry isn’t enough, but can I make it up to you this time? Will you give me a chance?" A-Yuan smiled and hugged Eros tightly. "Just being with you and Uncle Superhero is enough for me, Dad," he said, which surprised Yibo.

"Why Gu Wei instead of Liying?" Eros wondered to himself. He gently pulled away from the hug and asked, "Did you know that Gu Wei is your Nana? That he was once my spouse?" Yibo asked, and A-Yuan’s eyes widened in shock.

On the other hand, "What do you mean Gu Wei is dead?" Gu Wei asked, trying to hide the anxiety he was feeling.

"I was not given the opportunity to see him in person, or to put it another way, I only heard about him after he died. The only thing I saw was a picture of him, that looks a lot like you, at the same time you look like Chen Yu's dead husband, i mean Yibo, 16 years ago" Mianmian explained. Seeing the confusion on Gu Wei’s face, she continued, "He was my half-brother, and I had been searching for him for a long time. But when I finally found him, I also learned that he had died in a car accident."

She stopped and studied the expression on Gu Wei's face. “so I’m wondering who you are?"
