Chapter Seventeen

00:55, 3 February 2020

I stay behind the hay bales in case anyone decides to come back. I don't know who those people were, but considering that they knew Jeff, I don't think I really want to figure out.

It's around 5 PM when I finally hear heavy footsteps coming up to the barn. I know its Jeff, but I stay hidden just to make sure. When the barn door squeaks open, I heard the footsteps go silent.

"HEY WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU? I SWEAR TO G--" Jeff starts to yell until I come out from behind the hay. "What the actual fuck are you doing?" Jeff says, angry until he sees my expression. "Wait, what's wrong. Why do you look so concerned?" He finishes.

I go on to tell him about what I saw while he was gone. I describe how they looked and exactly what they said.

"Do you know them?" I finally ask. His eyes narrow.

"Yeah. I do. But that's not important. We do need to hurry up though. Get this over with so that we can go back." Jeff says. I nod slowly. He gives me a paper bag. The side of it says Wendy's. "Eat up. We need to get started soon." I nod and open the bag and start eating.

After I eat, which doesn't take long considering how hungry I was, Jeff pulls out 3 knives. He gestures towards them.

"Pick one. It will only be temporary since these are shit quality. You will have a better selection at the mansion." Jeff says. I stare down at the knives. My stomach turns. "Misty, you're going to do it either way so you might as well just get it over with." He says. I nod slowly. I go for the most familiar one. It looks like a basic kitchen knife almost. Close to Jeffs, only his is longer and thinner. "Of course you would pick that one." I see a dark smile behind his eyes.

"Now. Before you go and kill someone, you need to get used to using it. It's not just like cutting up some chicken. Trust me, it's better." He smiles wide and laughs darkly. My frown gets bigger. He lays down on the hay bale and points to his stomach. "This is why we needed to get started. I need time to heal. So go ahead. Just don't go too deep." He says. My eyes widen,

"Um excuse me?!" I say loudly. His laugh gets deeper.

"I heal fast and this needs to be done right. Trust me it's fine, as long as you don't go too deep. JUst kinda slice me up a little. I'll heal." He says, his eyes dark. I hesitate. "Come on just do it already pussy. This will probably be the only time you ever get. Take your chance. Just know that if you go too deep and I bleed out, I will actually skin you when I come back, that's a promise." He says, his smile grows at the thought. I look at him and take a deep breath and cut.

He looks down at his stomach.

"Fuck did u even do anything? What is that? A paper cut?" He jokes but is also serious. "I know you can do better than that." He lays back down. "Again." My eyes go wide at how serious he is. If I can barely do this, how am I actually going to kill someone? I look down and this time pushes harder and the knife goes deeper. Jeff reacts this time, though now how you would expect. His smile grows wider and his eyes squint. I hear him inhale a deep breath then sigh.  Almost as if he welcomes the pain. "Ahhhhh There you go! Now, on the real victim, go harder. but I just needed you to get used to the feeling, before the real thing is right under your fingers." He says smiling.

"You're... I don't get you. You're so unpredictable." I say quietly. His laugh booms through the room. He pulls down his hoodie and I can see blood already starting to soak through it. He stands and leans down close to my face. "Get used to it sweetheart." He says, so close to my mouth that I can smell his metally breath. I look down at his lips and back to his eyes, and then I feel his tongue quickly brush my bottom lip before he pulls away. His laugh is loud in my ears. I can feel the red coming to my cheeks.

"Oh god, you should see your face!" Jeff says in between laughs. "How's that for unpredictable?"
