Ch 17- Father Alexander Anderson

01:42, 10 October 2013

(If you haven't seen the anime, this chapter may make you upset. Just please bare through it. This was one of the hardest episodes to watch and to write....T-T)

The blades of the helicopter whirred as Walter looked up all the known information about Anderson.

"Paladin Anderson, Hitman Anderson, Bayonet Anderson, Killing Judge Anderson, Angel Dust Anderson..." Walter said aloud.

Integra, Cara, and two sharply dressed guards walked toward the helicopter.

"Place of origin, race, age, all unknown..." Walter went on. "We only know one thing about him besides all the nicknames.... He's a warrior and supernatural specialist." Integra, Cara, and the guards got into the helicopter. "Just as Alucard is our trump card against the supernatural..." Walter stood near the helicopter and bowed. "He is the Vatican Section VIII's counterpart trump card."

"When the monster killing paladin, that overzealous fanatic meets up with Alucard and company... There's no way he'll sit still," Integra said aloud, making Cara bite her lip in frustration and worry.

(Back at the Building)

Anderson's large feet walked toward Alucard and Seras. He stopped walking, his deranged smile never leaving his face.

"Nice moon out, eh? You abominations," Anderson said. Alucard now returned his smile.

Seras grunted from the floor as she lift her head, a pool of blood all around her.

"My, what a sweet voice you have. That must really hurt, little one. Not enough to kill your kind, though," Anderson said as the moonlight reflected off his circular glasses. Seras sat up with a painful look on her blood streaked face as she looked back at Anderson. "Because not a one went through your heart. I haven't been vampire hunting in the longest time; it's only fair I enjoy myself."

The light reflected off Alucard's own orange tinted glasses.

"Vatican Section VIII..." Alucard said aloud. "The secret service, Iscariot."

Seras' eyes widened as she let out a gasp.

"How right you are, Hellsing mongrel," Anderson replied and began to walk forward again. "So you're Alucard? Hellsing's cleaner, the vampire that's sided with humans and hunts other vampires."

"What happened to the vampire that was here?" Alucard asked as he walked forward as well.

"I dealt with him. He was just some small fry; not enough time to enjoy it," Anderson replied.

They both continued to walk forward. Anderson made more noise than Alucard when they walked.

Seras watched the scene unfold with tears in her eyes.

Alucard and Anderson walked one step past each other and stopped. They were both about the same height.

"The only ones left are you bastards," Anderson said, his smile never leaving his face.

"You don't say..." Alucard replied, his smile never leaving his face, either.

Anderson looked out of the corner of his eye at Alucard. He then turned, letting out a deranged battle cry as he positioned his bayonets.

At the same time, Alucard pulled out his gun and met the bayonet head on with it. Blood spurted out from his shoulder as the second hit him.

Seras gave another gasp as Alucard grunted.

Alucard looked up and aimed his gun, his wicked smile returning to his face even with the bayonet still sticking out of his shoulder. He fired one shot.

The bullet went straight into Anderson's head, gushing out blood and smoke. He and his blood hit the wall as he slumped against it before the bullet casing hit the ground.

Neither of the vampires noticed the young girl watching from around the corner as the scene had unfolded.

Alucard pulled the bayonets out of his chest and shoulder.

"He attacked a vampire head on at night without so much as a surprise. He was quit a brave priest..." Alucard said as he let the discarded bayonets fall to the floor. "Though a fool."

"M-Master," Seras said weakly as she tried to sit up further.

"Don't talk, you've still got blessed bayonets through your body," Alucard said as he turned toward Seras' shacking body and walked toward her. "You won't be able to recover--"

A tall figure suddenly loomed behind Alucard's bent over form, making his eyes widen.

Anderson laughed from behind him as he thrust two bayonets through Alucard's chest from behind.

"--- the hell?" Alucard asked as his blood flew out in large droplets.

Seras gasped again as large bats flew in front of the blood red moon.

Alucard dove forward, using his hand as a vault to push him as he move away from the bayonets. As he flew over Seras, he pulled out his gun again and shot rapidly at Anderson.

Anderson deflected the shots with his bayonets until one hit him in the head again and he went sliding across the floor.

Alucard landed with a thud on the wood floor.

Anderson sat up again and gave another deranged cry as he ran forward at Alucard, both of them smiling from the entertaining fight.

The fight continued as they both deflected each others attacks.

Anderson threw a multitude of bayonets at Alucard, which he easily shot one by one. However, Anderson quickly ran forward and grabbed Alucard's thick, muscular arm. He pinned both Alucard's hands to the wall with his bayonets.

Seras watched the scene with terrified eyes, the bayonets still sticking up out of her back.

Anderson held up two more bayonets, both parallel to each other, as smoke rolled off of his head and parts of his chest from the bullets that Alucard had managed to hit him with. The wounds slowly healed, pushing out the bullets that had logged themselves in.

"Amen," Anderson said, his voice deep and his smile deeper.

Alucard looked up at the priest from under the brim of his large, red hat. Only one of his sunset eyes were visible beneath the tint of his goggle glasses.

"A regenerator!?" Alucard asked aloud.

"That's right. A technique humans had to develop to fight the likes of you," Anderson replied.

More bats flew in front of the blood red moon.

Anderson gave a few grunts as he threw another multitude of bayonets at Alucard.

The multiple bayonets flew threw Alucard's body, some even going so far as to stick out the now cracked and broken window. Blood dripped off most of them.

A look of shock and pain was on Alucard's face as the bayonets glowed in the moonlight.

Seras gasped loudly. Fear was evident in her eyes as she watch.

Anderson criss cross the bayonets in his hands, letting them graze each other, leaving sparks as he walked toward the pinned Alucard.

(In the Helicopter)

As the four of them sat quietly in the loud helicopter, Cara was lost in her thoughts when she suddenly clutched on to her stomach and yelled. It could be heard even over the sounds of the helicopter.

A pain she had never physically felt erupted in her abdomen. It was like someone was clawing her insides while lighting a fire that wanted to sear her from the inside out. Whatever was making the clawing feeling was none too tame, either.

Cara just wanted the pain to stop. She doubled over in her seat, her arms around her stomach as her body hunched over and her breathing became harder to control.

"Cara, what's wrong?" Integra asked, reaching a hand toward the vampire in pain as the other three in the flying machine watched helplessly.

"Please don't touch me!" Cara said before Integra could lay a finger on her. Integra's eyes widened. "Please.... I do not know what I is wrong... I don't want to hurt anyone."

Integra looked at Cara for another moment before turning her gaze to the pilot. She stood from her seat and walked over the pilots.

"Can't you make this thing go any faster? Let's get a move one!" Integra said loud enough for everyone to hear.

(Back at the Building)

Anderson sneered wider as he continued to walk toward Alucard. When he was close enough, he brought the bayonet forward and sliced through the wounded vampire.

"Amen!" Anderson said aloud as his green eyes watched the vampires head fly through the air, blood leaving a long trail as it sored from it's original point.

"M... Master!" Seras cried as she looked at Alucard's decapitated body.

Anderson's back arched backwards as he cackled evilly.

The same girl from earlier continued to watch from around the corner.

"Uncle... Do you not know that vampire fights are never this easy? Especially one with a vampire that old..." the girl whispered.

The bats flew in front of the blood red moon.

(B.I.T.H.)

"Make haste!" Integra ordered again, hiding her worry for the vampire sitting next to her. "Since Iscariot... No, since Alucard is there it may have already started."

(B.I.T.B)

Anderson continued to laugh. It seemed to get caught in his throat at some points.

"This--- This is the Hellsing trump card?" Anderson laughed. "What they dubbed the strongest of the vampires? That was nothing! What a joke! Everything the Protestants do is---" Anderson looked back to where Seras had been laying on the floor. All that was there now was a pool of blood. "Oh? So she can still move after that much damage. Seems I underestimated that Draculina a bit." He pushed his circular glasses up. He then crossed his arms in front of his chest, fists to his shoulders, and uncrossed them to bring out two fresh bayonets.

************

Seras tried to control her breathing as she limped down the hall, her blood dripping from her wounded body. She held in her arms the head of her Master as she braced her hand on the wall for support while she continued to limp down the hall.

Alucard's glasses and hat had fallen off in the process of his decapitation.

One bayonet still stuck out of her back.

Smoke rolled off her gloved hand as she stopped and pulled out the last bayonet. A painful look crossed her face. She breathed deeply as she let it drop to the floor. The sharp end stuck into the floor and the hilt pointed toward the ceiling before it reangled back toward her.

She then look down at the head of her Master. His now red eyes and pale mouth still hung slightly open.

"Master?" Seras said, as if he could hear her. She held his head to her chest. "This is terrible. You got me into this and left me alone... I can't do this."

A bayonet flew from down the hall and hit Alucard's head, pinning it to the wall.

Seras looked at it for a moment, her bloody back turned away from the direction the bayonet had come. She turned her terrified gaze back down the hall.

"Where're you heading off to?" Anderson's voice called down the hall. His heavy footsteps could be heard as he walked toward her. "There's nowhere to run." His elbows were pointed toward the ceiling and his arms were flared out at his sides as he held his bayonets. "Dust to dust. For dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return! Amen."

Seras continued to look upon what she believed would be her death.

"I've got to run...." Seras thought. "I must run. Get back to Director Integra, and report..."

Seras outstretched her hand as she tried to limp as fast as she could back down the hallway. She tried to reach for a window when a large electric shock pulsed from it. She shrieked and withdrew her hand.

"What... What is this?" Seras thought.

On the window frame, nailed into the wood, were three neatly written pieces of paper.

"That's a barrier, my child," Anderson said, answering her question as he continued to walk toward her. "One that's impossible for you Midians to get through. Just lie in peace and accept your doom. You Godless beast.

"I'm gonna die..." Seras said as she looked at the barrier all around her and the footsteps got closer. "I gonna die!" She couldn't stop herself from saying it and thinking it over and over again. "Die..."

"Is this anytime to panic, Police Girl?" Alucard's voice resounded in her head.

Seras looked back at her masters head it melted from it's place on the wall.

"Master!" the scared girl called as she watched.

Alucard's blood pooled in front of Seras, oozing toward her. Slowly, it formed words.

Take my blood. (It says more but it's hard to read. Sorry.)

At the same time, Seras could hear his voice.

Drink my blood, Police Girl. Then you'll be a vampire free from the shackles of subjugation. You'll be a true member of your own kind. Drink blood by your own will, walk the night under your own power...

Alucard seemed to appear before the blood red moon, that infamous smile on his face as thousands of bats circled around him.

As a No-Life King.

Seras watched as the words wrote themselves on the floor.

Drink my blood, Police Girl... No... Seras Victoria!

Andersons large shadow loomed over Seras, covering her. (You'll have to remember. Seras is a very short girl. She's shorter than almost all the other characters.)

"End of the road," Anderson said.

Seras turned as Anderson was about to make the final blow when shots suddenly rang out, blowing the bayonets to pieces as the bullets hit them.

Seras quickly ducked.

"That girl is one of ours," Integra said, her small yet powerful gun cocked to the side. Cara stood behind her, ignoring the pain that was still present in her lower torso. The two guards stood behind her, as well. "What do you think you're doing, Paladin of Iscariot, Father Alexander Anderson?"

"Director Hellsing, Sir Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing..." Anderson said as he looked at her. His gaze also fell to Cara for a moment before he looked back to Integra. "This must be important indeed to bring forth the director herself."

"Father Anderson..." Integra said. "You're in violation of an important treaty. This place is supposed to be under our jurisdiction. Withdraw at once!" The entire time, her voice remained calm. "Failure to do so will result in a serious crisis between us and the Vatican. We can not let you do this, even if you are with Section VIII."

"Withdraw? You're telling us to withdraw?" Anderson asked, the smile returning to his face. He pulled out two bayonets. "Us? The earthly agents of divine punishment, Section VIII Iscariot?! Do not provoke me, whore of Babylon." Cara's eyes widened while Integra kept a monotone face. "You really think we'll give ground to you filthy Protestants?!"

Anderson charged toward Integra and Cara.

The guards quickly fired at Anderson, but he seemed to not be bothered by them.

Anderson sliced through the guards, the sickly smile still on his face as they fell dead.

Integra met Anderson's bayonet with her nicely designed sword, blocking him as best she could. She had to use her gloved hand to block the other bayonet.

"Biotechnological regeneration... And healing too!" Integra said angrily. "Bloody monster!"

Anderson leaned in closer to her until he was right in front of her face and said, "Every one of you are too weak. What a joke. Even your other Draculina abandoned you." Integra just now noticed that Cara had disappeared. However, she knew Cara had not abandoned her when she noticed the silver arrow lying on the ground. "And you're high and mighty cleaner lost his head." Integra's determined face fell. "I sawed it right off."

Integra smiled and said as she laughed, "You cut his head off? That's all?"

"What?" Anderson asked, shocked.

Seras cocked her gun, an empty shell falling out, and pointed her gun at Anderson.

"Get your hands off Sir Integra!" Seras demanded, her eyes now hard set. "You freak of nature!"

The smile came back to Anderson's face.

Anderson began to laugh again.

"There's no way to win, Father Anderson," Integra smiled. "Walking away quietly would be in your best interest."

"Just after I finish you two off and find that other Draculina, wench... Although, I have a feeling my niece has already taken care of the latter of the two," Anderson smiled.

"Then you'd best hurry," Integra still smiled, ignoring his comment about a niece. "If you take too long, the one who's head you cut off will come back to life."

"What?" Anderson asked again as he looked off to the side.

(In a Different Hallway)

Cara followed the sweet scent as it flowed down the hall.

"You know, it is not every day I meet a vampire who has as fast a reflex as you, considering how fast you creatures usually are," a sweet female voice called out from the dark. "None as pretty as you, either, and I have seen a lot of your kind."

Cara turned toward the sound of light footsteps as a tall figure came out of the dark.

The figure was really tall. Even taller than Alucard. She was about the same height as Anderson. Her hair was long and a blonde color, a few shades lighter than Cara's, up in a braided ponytail. Her eyes were blue as well, and also a few shades light. Her skin was a creamy pale color that seemed to fit her well. Her chest consisted of ample breasts but not so big they contrasted her slender figure. She wore a black button down vest, black button down shirt, black pants that showed off the curve of her hips and legs, black high heeled boots that only added to her tall figure, and black gloves that revealed her small hands and slender fingers. Hanging loosely on her hips was a black belt full of smaller weapons. At her back was a black quiver with pure silver arrows inside and in one of her hands was a long bow that was well taken care of and hard to tell it had been used for so many years. Her rosy lips had a seldom shown smile on them.

"So you're the one who shot the arrow at my master," Cara said, turning to fully face the girl.

"Oh, yes. Terribly sorry about that. I had to get you away from that fight. It was about to turn ugly," the girl smiled, not a hint of sarcasm in her soothing voice.

"Why would a hunter care about a vampire?" Cara asked, generally confused for the moment.

"Let us just say that when it comes to the fight between supernatural creatures and humans... I have long since chosen a side," the girl replied, her eyebrows raised and her eyes playful. She almost reminded Cara of a cat.

"So you pretend to hunt yet you play for our side?" Cara asked.

"Yes... and no. I prefer to play for the stronger side of the line. I only hunt the supernatural creatures who get out of hand," the girl replied. "Besides, even if I am full blooded, a contracted human could never be a true hunter."

"You mean you contracted with a....?" Cara asked, not bothering to finish.

"Hm-hm, and a cute one at that. Although, I suppose they are all cute in their own way, but this one... Oh, he makes your mouth water. And those big red eyes... Ugh!" the girl swooned.

Cara could not help but chuckle.

The girl was silent for a moment.

"Sounds to me like they're wrapping things up over there," the girl said, looking down the hall. She then turned back to Cara, putting a finger to her lips and closing an eye in a winking fashion. "Let us keep this little conversation between the two of us, shall we?"

"I think I can manage that," Cara smiled.

The girl turned to leave.

"Oh, by the way, my name is Emily," the girl turned back.

"Cara," Cara replied.

"I know. Oh, before I forget, one more thing..." Emily said. "Congratulations."

"On what?" Cara asked.

Emily simply looked down at Cara's abdomen, a knowing smile on her face.

Cara looked down at it for a moment as well before she felt a tiny flutter, like the wing of a butterfly brushing against her stomach. Realization came to her. She looked back up at Emily only to find her gone.

Cara shook her head. It couldn't be... This kind of a thing was impossible... Was it not?

She remembered the situation at hand and pulled herself from her shock. She then began to run back to the other hall.

(Back With the Rest of the Hellsing's)

The bats swarmed together in front of the blood red moon, giving out their little shrieks as they were called to action.

Some bats swarmed around Alucard's decapitated body, while one flew down to Seras. She looked over at it as it flapped its large wings, hovering in the same spot.

"So you didn't drink it, little simpleton?" the bat asked in Alucard's voice.

Thousands of bats suddenly swarmed through the windows, breaking and shattering the glass into a million pieces. They swarmed everywhere, circling around the hall.

Anderson tried to swipe at them with his bayonet, but to no avail.

"Cut off their heads? Stabbed through their hearts?" Integra smiled as Cara rounded the corner of the hall, stopping to look at the scene. "Don't think of them as merely another one of those vampires. Those methods are far from lethal to the likes of them. Just as you are the crystallization of anti-monster technology... The Hellsing family has spent 100 years gloriously building them up to the ultimate undead!" (Either Arthur Hellsing was a VERY old man or Alucard and Cara were working for the Hellsing's long before that. One way or another, I was wrong. Sorry!) The bats started to swarm back together, taking the shape of almost a scarecrow and a face took partial form. "The vampires, Alucard and Cara!"

Cara smiled mischievously as she watched Alucard's body take full form.

"M-Master!" Seras smiled happily as she too watched.

Alucard pulled out his gun, his usual smile on his face and his hair blowing in the unseen wind.

Anderson smiled.

The male vampire and male hunter lunged at each other once more, both thrilled for another fight to begin. They landed on the opposite side from where they had jumped, taking the others place.

Alucard stood still for a moment before blood gushed from his shoulders and his arms fell off.

Anderson chuckled as he turned his head and watched. His smile fell, however, when he say the bats retaking the shape of his arms, no sign anywhere that they had been cut off.

Alucard smiled wickedly as Integra explained further.

"Like I said..." Integra went on, "So what now, Anderson?"

Anderson watched as Alucard's eyes widened with his smile, his gun aimed.

"That figures..." Anderson said. "There's no way I can kill him with the gear I've got now." He pulled out a large book, the pages turning by themselves. Emily came from behind him and stood beside him. Everyone but Cara and Anderson looked at her in shock. "We'll meet again, Hellsing..."

A fierce wind blew through the hall as pages floated around the room.

Seras looked shocked and surprised.

"Next time I kill all of you," Anderson said as the pages closed in around him and Emily.

Emily smiled and winked at Cara, this going unnoticed by all except her.

Anderson and Emily disappeared along with the pages.

"We survived," Seras said, still holding her large gun as her legs shook and she kneeled on the ground.

Alucard stood a few yards behind Seras, and Integra was a few yards from him.

Integra now had a cigar in her mouth and was patiently lighting it. Alucard turns to her once it's lit.

"How do you feel, Alucard?" Integra asked.

"Been a long time since my head got plucked off," Alucard smiled as Cara came to stand beside him, both taking the others hand as they stood close to each other. "So that's Iscariots Father Anderson..." Integra began to walk forward.

"A border skirmish in violation of the treaty... An attack against agency members with casualties... The Vatican will end up with a long demerit for this," Integra said as she stopped and looked at the bayonets embedded in the floor. "But this is no time to be fighting them. There's a large scale secret organization behind this recent chain of vampire incidents."

"Then give the order," Cara smiled as she brought the hand that was not entangled in Alucard's up to his arm and wrapped hers around it.

"Extermination? Destruction?" Alucard smiled as well. "Or just take out the rubbish?"

"Order us, Our Master," Cara bowed her head.

"Integra Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing!" Alucard continued for her.

"If the time come, we will," Integra smiled at her two strongest allies.

"Oh? Looking forward to it," Alucard said, a nostalgic look in his eyes. "We will enjoy it."

"Completely and thoroughly enjoy it," Cara went on. She was never one to get rowdy, but when the time came, she knew to let her beast run free for a short time. Even in the most gentle of creatures, there will always sleep a beast, waiting for the moment to be let out of their cage and roam free for however long they are able.

Alucard then led Cara over to where Seras was still siting, their hands and her arm still intertwined.

"Hey," Alucard said when they were a few feet in front of her. She looked up at him. "Why didn't you drink my blood?" She stared up at them for a moment.

"Why didn't you?" Cara asked in a non-scrutinizing tone when Seras didn't answer.

Seras looked to the ground as she said, "I- I don't know, but... If I had drank your blood, it felt like something would have ended."

"Moron," Alucard frowned. Cara looked up at him angrily as they turned from Seras and began walking away. "But, this might be for the better. Someone would be amazed to see you walking the nights."

Seras smiled after them.

Integra watched as Alucard and Cara walked back down the hall.

"Why'd you bring that Police Girl into your family?" Integra asked, the cigar still hanging from her mouth.

"I wonder why... Because I was possessed? A whim? A moment of foolishness? No, it's nothing like that..." Alucard said as he and Cara stopped. "I thought we'd have someone else around for awhile. I indulged in humanities fickle nature." Cara smiled up at him before they continued to walk. "Let's go, Police Girl. Don't sit around over there."

"Y-Yes, My Master," Seras smiled with a nod of the head. She stood and ran after them. "But, err, I'm not 'Police Girl'. I have a name--- Seras Victoria...."

Seras ran past Integra, who was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed.

"Silence, you coward," Alucard half teased as he turned his head to her with a smile, stopping himself and Cara again. "You're Police Girl; that's good enough for you."

"B-But...!" Seras said, an almost annoyed look on her face as she stopped just behind them. After a moment, she ran back after them as they continued down the hall. "Master! Sister!"

Integra stood in the middle of the hall, watching them go.

Getting sentimental, are we?" she smiled to herself, the cigar still hanging from her mouth. "No-Life King and No-Life Queen... No, two who were once just king and queen..."

A lone bat fell in the sky as the moon shown its natural silvery color.

***************

"Ladies and gentlemen," a voice said as a dark figure shown. "Let us continue this project. For this war. And for the next war." One hand was raised in a hello fashion while the other was behind his back. He had a wide smile and circular glasses. "And for the war after that."
