V ~ Let's Talk

21:38, 15 December 2018

Once Meliodas helped his brother up he led him to a room upstairs to rest. He made sure Zeldris was comfortable before heading back downstairs to talk with the sins. They looked up in silent fear as he descended the stairs. Meliodas' miasma was just barely under his control. He turned and looked at them with his eyes flashing black for a moment.

"Let's talk... now."

That one sentence sent chills up their spines. The Captain was not pleasant to be around when he was angry, definitely. At the sins were not at all to be the subject of his concealed rage. "Yes sir," they forced out and took seats at the bar, waiting for the tongue lashing.

"WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU ALL THINKING!?" Meliodas roared. They all flinched, except for Merlin.

"W-We all thought it was a good way to get rid of your curse," Escanor stuttered pushing up the glasses that were slipping off his nose. His scrawny arms trembled.

"I can get rid of it myself," Meliodas stated. "I am plenty capable of doing that." Ban frowned at this.

"You don't have to do everything by yourself, you know!" Ban shouted. Meliodas simply sighed.

"No help is needed anymore. I already have a way to do it," Meliodas affirmed.

"How?"

"It is not necessary for you to know that," Meliodas said and made sure to emphasize the 'not'.

"Why not?" Diane pleaded. "Why can't we know? We're your comrades!" Meliodas looked down. He felt guilty for not telling them but they'll try and stop them if he did.

"I know that but even still you don't need to know," Meliodas repeated. "Right now I just want to make something clear." Meliodas breathed. He needed out. He needed to think. "Zeldris will be under my protection, understand?" The sins looked shocked by this. King looked angry.

"Why would you protect the enemy anyway?" King growled. "He helped kill you!"

"Enemy or not he is still my family. King, you too should understand the need to protect your family. So whether or not any of you are okay with it, this is my final decision. Now I'm going to bed. Good night."

Meliodas made a sharp turn and walked back upstairs. Instead of going to his room he went to the roof and laid there. He didn't fall asleep but looked up at the stars quietly and calmed himself down.

This the shortest scolding ever but I'm not sure what else to do. Oh well.
