Chapter 9: Realization

In the hospital with Cherry.

Cherry POV:

Why did I have to say that. Out of all things. I could've said I didn't love Yuri and that I loved him. Now it's my fault if he never comes back, but why was he so mad about Yuri. I know he wasn't the best person but he didn't do anything that bad to him. Was it me? No, probably not especially now. He probably hates me now. I just wish I knew what he was thinking so I could say something good for once. It's always my fault we fight. I want to get along with him better. I don't want our relationship to be solemnly on arguing all the time.

Cherry starts crying and ends up falling asleep

A few hours later Reki and Langa show up to visit Cherry (he's already awake)

Langa: Hey, Cherry. How are you feeling

Reki: Yeah how are you?

Cherry: The doctor said I have a sprained wrist and sprained ankle, but no broken bones so I'll be fine. I just have to stay today and tomorrow I'll be released.

Langa: That's good. I hope you feel better soon.

Reki: Hey where's Joe?

Cherry: He left awhile ago, so he could work, why?

Reki: He said he was going to close today, and stay with you until you were released.

Cherry: He did?

Langa: Yeah, he's the one who told us what room you were in, and he was the one to bring you here along with Shadow.

Reki: You know Joe really cares about you, so I don't think he'd leave without reason. So what happened?

Cherry starts crying tears or joy that Joe really cared about him, but tears of sadness because he had pushed him away

Langa: Are you alright? What happened?

Reki: I'll go talk to Joe about it. Langa you stay here and talk to Cherry.

Langa: Ok bye, love.

Reki: See you later, Langa.

Reki leaves the hospital and starts heading for Joe's restaurant...Joe: What are you doing here?

Reki: Joe we need to talk.

Joe: About what?

Reki: Don't play dumb. You left Cherry alone at the hospital.

Joe: And why does that matter.

Reki: I know how you feel about him. You wouldn't have left him unless something happened, and when I asked him he started crying so what exactly happened.

Joe in thought: What I didn't mean to hurt you. I'm sorry Kaoru.

Joe: Was he actually crying?

Reki: He was and his eyes were already red I can't tell if it was from the accident or crying but you tell me what happened.

Joe: Shit, it's my fault.

Reki: What's your fault?

Joe: I started getting mad about Yuri and then he called me man whore.

Reki: Then you shouldn't you br mad about that?

Joe: I'm not mad about that. I'm upset about it. I'm not a man whore because I like hookup up with woman, I'm a man whore because just want a distraction from Kaoru. I don't have to think of anything then, I just do what I have to and leave.

Reki: Wow I didn't know that.

Joe: Didn't you ever wonder why I was with them, even though I had feelings for Cherry?

Reki: I did but I never planned on asking you it seemed to private, and I decided not to. But what are you going to do.

Joe: About what specifically?

Reki: How are you going to tell Cherry how you feel.

Joe: I can't do it. I tried a week ago and I failed.

Reki: I don't know if I should tell you but it's kind of obvious he has feelings for you.

Joe: He what?

Reki: Joe Cherry has feelings for you now what are you going to do

Joe: Wait, what. I don't know, what if you're wrong and he just really cares.

Reki: He's in a hospital crying about you.

Joe: It doesn't matter I can't face him now. I can't just make up with him them start dating like you and Langa. I want to do things right and do something special for him. I don't want to say it then. I want to say it just him and me and I want him to say it back. I want him by my side, but I can't. If your wrong what if he puts up a wall and things are never the same. I don't want to risk losing him I can't.

Reki: I know your scared, but you love and care about him too much to let him go. If you never tell him you may regret it.

Joe: I can't tell him because I love him too much. And what if we are something and I make a mistake that's undoable, what if he gets hurt again. He's delicate like his name Cherry Blossom-

Reki: What why'd you suddenly stop talking?

Joe: The first time I saw him skate he did an ollie and I call him Cherry blossom because he looked graceful like falling cherry petals.

Reki: And he used it as his nickname for S?

Joe: Yes.

Reki: You know what that means.

Joe: Yes.

Reki: Now what are you going to do?

Joe: I'm not going to do anything.

Reki: What do you mean?

Joe: Yet, for now I don't think I should see him. What if he gets mad at me.

Reki: He was crying.

Joe: You never know. I just want to give it time until I apologize, and then I'll ask him.

Reki: I hope you don't regret that. For all you know it might be better if you just did it now.

Joe: I already told you I can't. Plus if I saw him now knowing this I'd be a mess. I just need some time to process things.

Reki: Alright, but you better do something.

Joe: I will.

Reki: I should go know Langa and Cherry are probably expecting me to go soon.

Joe: Don't tell Langa.

Reki: Why not?

Joe: What if he tells Cherry how I feel, wait does he already know?

Reki: I haven't told him, so if he does he figured it out on his own.

Joe: Alright, now go my lunch break is almost over.

Reki: Alright, bye.

Reki leaves

Joe in thought: I won't disappoint you Kaoru. I know you're probably hurting now, but I promise I will make sure you never get hurt again.
