Chapter 16
06:24, 7 November 2016{the last chapter ended at night, but we are going back to herc and laf's day for now.}
Hercules POV Once Lafayette was settled in on the couch and I brought him his water, I pulled up a chair and placed it in front of the couch. "So... you going to tell me what is wrong with your eye?" He looked very confused and agitated with me. Now or never. "Basically, I was punched last night at our party." Lafayette tried to roll his eyes, but winced at the pain of his headache."No shit Sherlock. Why did you get punched mon ami?" I was really nervous at this point. How was he going to react? How did I want him to react? "Long story short, that loser Thomas Jefferson, you know? The one who smells like Mac N Cheese? Yeah well he was flirting with you and being really pushy. You, of course, were drunk and I, being a good friend, didn't want to see you do something you might regret. You were pretty drunk and vulnerable. So I told Thomas to lay off, and he punched me. You don't remember any of that?" He just looked at me, eyes wide and shocked.
Lafayette POV Oh my god. I remember now. Well sort of. "Well I sort of remember now. Talking about it helped me recall some stuff. I remember Thomas twisting my hair around his fingers." I cringed at the thought. That disgusting man touching my hair. "He was calling me these gross nicknames, I think. It's still a little blurry." I looked at Hercules who seemed to be getting upset and jealous -was he jealous of Jefferson? This wasn't just about me hooking up with Thomas. What was going on? I looked straight into Hercules eyes and he returned the notion. "Hercules, what is this really about?""Like I said, I didn't want to see my friend-" I cut him off acutely."Friend being hit on because maybe it made you, I don't know, jealous." He let out a huge sigh and sat back in his chair, hanging his head backwards. This whole charade has been going on for too long."Hercules. Why won't you just admit to people that you're different?""I don't know what you're talking about." I took another sip of water and shook my head in disapproval."What I don't understand is why it has taken you so long to just come out and say it?" He lifted his head while looking discouraged. He then got up from his chair and sat next to me on the couch. "I think you already know Laf. And if you already know, why do I have to say it?" I looked over at him. "Because if you don't say it yourself, then you won't believe it." One single tear fell from the large man's eye. I quickly wrapped my arms around him. His heart was beating really fast. Or maybe it was me? I really didn't know. Why won't he just come out? "Herc, John and I are your friends and we care about you very much. But you have to be honest with us, and most importantly yourself." He pulled away and wiped his face, ridding any tears left.After one deep breath in, he opened his mouth. Come on Herc. I tried to hide my excitement and anticipation as much as possible. "Laf. I think I'm gay"Despite my blistering headache, I jumped up and pulled Herc up with me. I started dancing around the dorm, trying not to move too forcefully. I could easily puke at any given moment. Finally I yelled," HERCULES IS GAY!!!"He laughed and a slight blush arose to his face. I hope this was going somewhere. Not today or tomorrow. Maybe not for a long time. But, I was going to cherish this moment. I was going to wait for Hercules Mulligan.
Hercules POV To Do List For Life: 1) Make Lafayette feel more loved than ever before. 2) Make the frenchman happier than anything. 3) Make him your husband.
{A/N: Hey! Long time no see! I know I told you at the end of the last chapter that I was off to write this one, but I lied. I fell asleep right after that and haven't had time since to write. And yes, this chapter is really really short but I will make it up to you. Promise.}
