Before Lydia's party had ended, Lucy had gone out to her car to sit and relax. She had gotten all the punch out of her system, but she wasn't ready to drive yet. Scott had stayed inside, helping Stiles get it all out of his system.

And then the boys had rushed out to her car, jumping in and shouting about how they knew who the killer was. Matt, a student in their class, had fallen into the pool and wasn't able to swim. Of all the people there, Jackson had been the one to pull him out.

Having not been there to see everything herself, Lucy wasn't sure what she believed. But she trusted the boys and wasn't surprised when Stiles called her the next day, asking her to meet them and his father at the police station.

When Lucy got out of her car, Stiles rushed over to her. "Thanks for coming, how are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, Stiles. I'm more worried about you. Did Scott tell you about my illusion?" Lucy wanted to reach forward and grab his hand, but she stopped herself and crossed her arms instead. She wasn't quite sure how Stiles felt about Lydia now. The two had barely interacted since the dance and Stiles didn't seem particularly excited to be at her party.

Stiles nodded, rubbing his chin. "Yeah, he did. It sounded just like mine."

"Are you okay?" Lucy asked, staring into his eyes, searching for a hint of hurt or sadness.

Stiles surprised her by smiling. "I'm okay. I mean it's a little weird that we had the same illusion, but that punch was pretty strong, and you had a lot." He laughed as he remembered watching her and Allison drink cup after cup of the punch.

"Were you watching me?" Lucy smiled as the boy in front of her turned beet red as his arms flailed around him.

"N-no, I mean yeah, but Jackson was there, and I was just keeping a close eye on you and Allison! You know, just in case." He rambled, the words flying out of his mouth at a fast pace.

Lucy giggled, smiling softly at the boy. "Stiles." She reached forward, grabbing his wrists to get his arms to stop moving around. "I'm just teasing."

"Oh." Stiles nearly sighed in relief.

"I actually really appreciate you keeping a 'close eye' on Allison and I." Movement from behind Stiles caught her attention, and Lucy grinned when she saw her brother waving at her. "Come on, Scott's ready to go in."

Without thinking, Lucy let go of one of Stiles' arms. Her hand slipped into his and she pulled him with her to the front entrance. As they got closer, she made eye contact with her brother, who only grinned teasingly.

Entering the police station, the three teens followed the former Sheriff into the dimly lit building. Mr. Stilinski paused for a moment to converse with the deputy on the night shift before he led the teens into his former office.

"We should look at the hospital stuff first," Stiles said, letting go of Lucy's hand so he could begin to pull out boxes related to the case.

"Why?" Scott asked, helping move the boxes.

"Jackson committed all the murders, except for the girl in the hospital," Lucy whispered to her brother as she grabbed a box.

"The pregnant girl, Jessica." Scott thought out loud, opening up a box so he could sift through the papers.

"Exactly. Since Matt killed her himself, somebody could've seen him at the hospital." Lucy explained, looking through the papers in another box.

"I don't know, guys. I mean, look at this. There was a six-car pileup that night, the hospital was jammed," Mr. Stilinski spoke as he watched the security footage from that day.

Taking the mouse from his father, Stiles clicked play again. "All right, just keep going." Every eye in the room watched the monitor closely, internally praying to get a glimpse of the killer. "Look, he had to have passed one of the cameras on that floor to get to Jessica, okay? He's gotta be on the footage somewhere."

"Oh, hold on, stop!" Scott yelled, his hand taking the mouse from his best friend so he could pull the video back. "Did you see that? Scroll back."

"Wait, is that him? Is that Matt?" Lucy asked, leaning over Stiles' shoulder to point at a familiar figure on the monitor.

"All I see is the back of someone's head." Mr. Stilinski sighed but zoomed in slightly.

"Matt's head, yeah. I sit behind him in history." Stiles nodded. "He's got a very distinct cranium, it's weird."

"Are you crazy?" The former Sheriff sighed again, staring at his son.

"All right, fine, then look at his jacket, huh? How many people do you know who wear black leather jackets?" Stiles tried to reason, knowing it was a lost cause.

"Okay, can we scroll forward?" Scott cut in. "There's gotta be a shot of him walking towards one of the cameras."

The group followed him on a few more cameras before he reached an intersection. "Right there, stop! See, there he is again!" Stiles yelled, pointing at the figure again.

"You mean there's the back of his head again."

"Okay, but look. He's talking to someone. Who's actually facing the camera." Stiles leaned forward to get a good look. Scott and Lucy did the same, freezing when they realized who it was. Their mother.

Scott quickly pulled out his phone and began to call their mother, stepping over to the corner of the room. "This one's sixteen, he's got dark hair, looks like a normal teenager." Lucy wished she could hear her mother's response, hoping that she'd recognize him. "Okay, Mom, I'm gonna take a picture and send it to you. Do you recognize him? Do you remember him?" Lucy held her breath as she waited for an anticipated answer. "She remembers him." Scott nodded, looking at the group with excitement.

"We've got shoe prints alongside the tire tracks at the trailer site." Mr. Stilinski pulled them out and placed them onto the table in a rush.

"And if they match, that'll put Matt at the scene of three murders. The trailer, the hospital, and the rave." Lucy added, eager that they were so close to solving it.

"Actually, four. A credit card receipt for an oil change was signed by Matt at the garage where the mechanic was killed." Mr. Stilinski informed them.

"When?" Stiles asked, turning in his seat quickly.

"A couple of hours before you got there."

"All right, Dad, if one's an incident, two's a coincidence, and three's a pattern, what's four?" Stiles questioned, watching his father smirk.

"Four's enough for a warrant." Stiles clapped his hands together and Lucy almost jumped in joy. They were doing it. They were actually solving it. "Scott, call your mother back, and see how quick she can get here. If I can get an official ID, I can get a search warrant." Mr. Stilinski ordered, turning to his son and the only girl in the room. "You two, go to the front desk. Tell them to let her in when she gets here."

"On it." Stiles jumped up, opening the door for Lucy and trailing after her into the hallway.

"I can't believe we did it." Lucy grinned as they walked towards the front desk.

"I know! It's so thrilling," Stiles replied, smiling down at her as Lucy rambled about how much she loved the feeling of solving the case. "Maybe you should be a detective. You'd be pretty good at it."

"You think so?" Lucy paused for a moment, thinking over his words. Stiles nodded. "I've never really thought about what I want to do after high school."

"You should consider it." Stiles smiled gently as their hands brushed against each other.

Lucy smiled back but it fell short as she realized how quiet the front of the building was. Their voices and footsteps echoed through the reception area, making her wonder why it was so quiet.

"Hello?" Stiles called out, staying close to Lucy as she walked around the desk. She gasped, her hands flying to cover her mouth as she stared at the dead body of the deputy that was supposed to be on the night shift. Lucy looked up, calling out for Stiles when she froze at the sight of the gun pointed directly at his head.

Matt, who was holding the weapon, wasted no time in directing the teens back to the room they had just left. Stiles instinctively reached out for Lucy's hand and clasped it tight, not even thinking that Matt might use her against him. The only thing Stiles was worried about was her safety.

"Matt? Matt, whatever's going on, I guarantee you there's a solution that doesn't involve a gun." Mr. Stilinski tried to reason as Matt pushed Stiles towards his father. Because their hands were still intertwined, Stiles tried to pull Lucy with him. "Ah, no. She stays." Matt moved the gun to back of her head, pressing it against her skull tightly. Lucy whimpered and Stiles wanted nothing more than to pull her close and protect her. Matt glared at him and Stiles dropped her hand, now regretting that he had held it in the first place.

"You know, Sheriff, it's funny you say that because I don't think you're aware of just how right you are." Matt laughed and Lucy's eyes closed tightly as the gun was pressed further into her head.

"I know you don't wanna hurt people."

"Actually, I wanna hurt a lot of people." Matt corrected. "You all weren't on my list, but I could be persuaded. And one way is to try dialing somebody on your cell phone, like McCall is doing. That could definitely get someone hurt." His eyes darkened and he insisted that everyone place their phones on the table. Instead of letting Lucy put hers with the rest, Matt took it upon himself to slip his hand into her back pocket and grab it. Lucy flinched, which caught Stiles' attention. He frowned, hating that Matt was making her uncomfortable on top of already threatening to hurt her.

Making them all go to the cell room, Matt made Stiles handcuff his own father to one of the metal bars. "Tighter," Matt ordered. Seeing the gun still at the back of Lucy's head, Stiles did as he was told, whispering an apology to his father as he did so.

"What, are you gonna kill everyone in here?" Scott seethed, resisting the urge to run forward and help his sister.

"No, that's what Jackson is for. I just think about killing them and he does it." Matt grinned, moving them out of the room and leaving the Sheriff clueless as to what was actually going on.

"Deleted and we're done." Stiles snapped. "All right, so, Matt, since all the people you brutally murdered deserved it because they killed you first, whatever that means, I think we're good here, right?" He seethed, moving around the desk to face the killer. "So, we'll just get my dad, and we'll go, you know? You continue on the whole vengeance thing. Enjoy the Kanima-"

"-sounds like Mrs. McCall is here." Matt cut in, grinning as he spoke.

"Matt, don't do this," Lucy begged, her eyes watering at the thought of losing another parent.

Matt lowered his mouth to her ear. "You've already lost two parents, what's one more?" He laughed as the terrified girl sobbed.

"When she comes to the door, I'll just tell her to leave. I'll tell her we didn't find anything. Please, Matt." Scott begged, stepping closer to his sister. His pulse was through the roof as anger and fear seeped into his heart. He wanted nothing more than to pull his sister away from the monster.

Releasing his grip on Lucy, Matt moved towards Scott. Lucy fell to the floor, not expecting to be let go so suddenly. Stiles lurched forward, catching her in his arms as he pulled her close. He rubbed her back, hoping she'd find some comfort in it as he stared at Matt.

"If you don't move now, I'm gonna kill Stiles and Lucy first, then your mother." Matt yelled, waving the gun around. Hesitantly, Scott began to leave. He glanced at his sister, watching as she sobbed in Stiles' arms. Stopping at the door, Matt turned over his shoulder and eyed the teens on the floor. "Even think about moving or calling anyone, and I'll put a bullet in his mother's skull before you can even say Kanima."

As soon as they were alone in the room, Stiles hugged Lucy even tighter as she cried. Before he could stop himself, he pressed a quick kiss to the top of her hair as he told her that she was okay. They both knew it was only temporary, which was why Lucy leaned back and wiped her tears away.

"We need to go," she whispered, grabbing Stiles' hands.

"But your mom-"

"Scott will protect her. He's faster and stronger than Matt."

Before Stiles could argue, they heard a thump from the other room. Standing up, Stiles pulled Lucy to her feet and kept her behind him as they trailed after the sound.

"Derek?" Lucy gasped as her eyes landed on the paralyzed werewolf that laid on the floor in front of them.

"And Jackson," Stiles warned, staring at the partially formed Kanima. For good measure, Stiles continued to stand in front of Lucy.

"This is the one controlling him? This kid?" Derek spat, staring up at Matt.

"Well, Derek, not everyone's lucky enough to be a big, bad werewolf. Oh, yeah, that's right. I've learned a few things lately." Matt laughed and Lucy's mind went straight to Allison. She had gone to the rave with Matt, and he had been trying to get close to her for weeks. As soon as Lucy had her phone back, her first priority would be to warn Allison. "Werewolves, hunters, Kanimas. It's like a frickin' Halloween party every full moon." Then Matt turned his attention back to the human duo by the door. "Except for you two. What are you?"

"Abominable snowmen." Stiles answered for both of them, venom in his tone. "But, uh, it's more of, like, a wintertime thing, you know, seasonal."

Scott yelled out for his friends as Jackson's tail swung towards the back of their necks, slicing the skin as it injected them with its paralytic venom. "You bitch." Stiles seethed as he fell to his knees, the toxin already taking affect.

Lucy, however, held the back of her neck in pain but didn't fall. Looking up, she saw Matt's confused glare, so she did the only thing that seemed reasonable at the time. As Stiles landed next to Derek with his legs on him, Lucy let her body go limp and landed with the back of her head on Stiles' stomach.

"Get him off of me!" Derek spat, not having the mobility to do so himself.

"Oh, I don't know, Derek. I think you three make a pretty good team." Matt chimed, leaning over them with the gun still tightly clutched in his hand. "It must kinda suck, though, to have all that power taken away from you with just a little cut to the back of the neck. I bet you're not used to feeling this helpless."

"Still got some teeth. Why don't you get down here a little closer, huh? We'll see how helpless I am." Derek warned, his confidence and ego making Lucy feel slightly better about their situation. Scott made eye contact with Lucy, and she could read the look in his eyes.

Don't move.

Lucy wished in that moment that she could be supernatural, that she could help Scott somehow. But she was only human and the best she could do was stay out of the way, so Scott had one less person to worry about.

"Yeah, bitch." Stiles chimed, eager to push Matt a little further as revenge for what he'd done to Lucy.

Matt grinned as another car pulled into the parking lot. "Is that her? Do what I tell you to, and I won't hurt her. I won't even let Jackson near her."

Scott nodded, letting Matt lead him out into the reception area once again. Lucy waited a few moments before speaking up, "Am I crushing you?"

"No," Stiles said quickly. "You're good. That was smart, what you did."

"I thought the venom didn't affect you?" Derek asked, unable to look at the girl from his position.

"It doesn't," Lucy whispered. "Matt look confused and I didn't know what to do. I just didn't want Scott to have to worry about me too."

The girl jumped when a gunshot rang out and her mother's screams made her blood run cold. She went to sit up when Stiles hissed, "Don't! Just stay put!"

So, Lucy listened, hearing her mother scream out for Scott. Who had been shot? Knowing Scott could heal, she hoped it was her brother and not her human mother. Lucy gasped when Matt pushed both Scott and her mother into the room, watching as Scott held his bleeding stomach tightly.

"It doesn't hurt, I promise."

"That's the adrenaline, okay? Please, let- let me just take a look at him, okay? I mean, I can help stop the bleeding." Melissa tried to reason as Matt moved them into the cell room, their voices dying down.

Lucy let out a deep breath, closing her eyes tightly. It would all be over soon, hopefully. Unfortunately, her weird dreams and illusions wouldn't help anyone at the moment. If she wasn't concerned that she might turn into a Kanima like Jackson, Lucy might've considered asking Derek or Scott to bite her.

"What- what book?" Scott asked as Matt led him back into the room with the paralyzed trio.

"The bestiary. Not just a few pages, I want the entire thing."

"We don't have it. It's Gerard's. What do you want it for, anyway?"

"I need answers."

"Answers to what?" Scott shouted, still clutching his stomach tightly.

"To this." Matt retorted, tugging up the side of his shirt and revealing a section of scales that had now replaced his skin. He was transforming into a Kanima.

Matt kept his gun aimed at the werewolf and led Scott back into another room, leaving the others alone on the cold floor. Lucy was grateful that her head had landed on Stiles rather than the hard floor, but she felt bad for the other two.

The trio stayed silent for several minutes. Lucy tried asking Derek about what happened with the Mountain Ash, about the fact that she couldn't cross it, but the alpha stayed silent. Lucy sighed and gave up, knowing that it was no use to try to drag information out of him when he was purposefully ignoring her. That was until the lights went out and bullets rang through the windows. Lucy jumped up as the windows shattered and did her best to cover Stiles from the sharp shards.

Scott ran into the room just as Derek was able to get his movement to return. "Take him! Go!"

Lucy and Scott didn't need to hear another word. They picked Stiles up, throwing his arms around their shoulders as they maneuvered through the building, slamming doors behind them when they could. When Jackson caught up to them, Scott let go of Stiles so he could fight back.

Moving over towards a chair, Lucy helped Stiles lower himself onto the chair and gently rested his head on the back of the chair. "Don't move," Scott ordered. "Both of you."

"What are you going to do?" Lucy asked, watching her brother with weary eyes.

"I'm going to end this."
