Desperate Measures

Adler: The Lubyanka Building... KGB Headquarters in Moscow. The sleeper agent records are stored in the archives one hundred feet below ground in a nuclear defense command bunker

Sims: Your only way in or out is through this high security elevator

Adler: We'll need proper credentials. That's where our asset, Belikov, comes into play. Belikov has been our source inside the KGB for decades. He'll get us in. He came through for us in Yamantau, and he'll do it again

Sims: This shit is crazy, even by his standards. You sure he's on board?

Adler: An immediate nuclear threat warrants every wish at this point. I'm sure he wouldn't disagree. Sims, get Belikov on the line

(Later...)

(Belikov reaches the furnace room and takes out his walkie-talkie to talk to security)

Belikov: Belikov here. Send a security detail to meet me in the furnace room. Immediately

(Belikov puts away his radio and reaches the furnace room entrance where he signals his flashlight to Adler and Bell. Adler appears, holding his hand up to block the light)

Adler: Wasn't sure you'd come through

Belikov: I don't have much choice, do I?

(Belikov opens the furnace door. Belikov hands the bunker key to Adler)

Belikov: This keycard gives you elevator access to the bunker

Adler: What about uniforms?

(Belikov holds up a hand and shushes. The sounds of approaching guards can be heard)

Belikov: Sounds like they're here now. Okay. I will lead them through and distract them. You two do the rest

(Belikov walks up ahead while Adler and Bell hide in the shadows)

Adler: Bell, take cover. Keep it clean. The uniforms are no good to us bloody

(Belikov returns with two security guards in tow)

Belikov: There-there-there! I found an unlocked door. There is no excuse for this incompetence. We have very strict protocols in place to prevent this, is this clear?

(Belikov and the two guards walk past Adler and Bell, who they sneak up behind the guards and kill them by snapping their necks)

Belikov: Good. I have to leave, but you should have everything you need. Now, if stopped, you're reporting to Commander Sobol

(Belikov leaves. Adler and Bell strip the uniforms off the dead guards)

Adler: Get changed

(A short time later, Bell and Adler are dressed in the Soviet uniforms while Adler checks over their duffel bag full of weapons and ammo. Adler then tosses the bag over to Bell)

Adler: Here. Our weapons and keycard are in the bag. Come on, this way. Once we're in the bunker, we're on our own

(Bell and Adler exit the furnace room and walk through the prison as they walk past two guards who are talking. They walk up the stairs and back up onto the main floor of the KGB Headquarters. They approach the guard at the entrance)

Adler: (in Russian) Comrade. Do you mind letting us through?

Soviet Soldier: Fine

(The guard opens the door, allowing Bell and Adler to walk through the gate. They reach the main lobby and notice a line of people by the checkpoint)

Adler: No metal detectors for us, Bell. We're going around

(Bell is about to open the door leading into the security room, but a guard stops him)

Soviet Soldier: (in Russian) What do you think you're doing? Everyone must go through the checkpoint

Bell: (In Russian) Comrade Belikov already cleared us. We have urgent orders to report to the bunker

Soviet Solder: (in Russian) Go through the checkpoint

(Adler and Bell approach the checkpoint. Adler goes through the metal detector first. The guard then signals Bell to go through. As Bell walks through the detector, the alarm goes off)

Soviet Soldier: (in Russian) Comrade, place your bag on the counter for inspection

Adler: (in Russian) There's no need for that. Let us pass

Soviet Soldier: (in Russian) Don't take it personally, comrade. My orders are to inspect everything that comes through - no exceptions

(Bell places the duffel bag on the counter for the guard to inspect. Just as the guard is about to open the bag and look inside, Belikov appears)

Belikov: (in Russian) Comrade, you are needed by Kravchenko. I can handle this

Soviet Soldier: (in Russian) Thank you, Comrade

(The guard leaves, allowing Belikov to "search" the bag for Adler and Bell)

Adler: (in Russian) You're running late, Belikov

Belikov: (in Russian) I'm here, am I not?

(Belikov finishes up and hands the bag back to Bell)

Adler: (in Russian) Let's go

(Bell and Adler continue on their way and enter the elevator)

Adler: Take us down

(Bell enters the bunker key into the elevator panel. Just before the doors close completely, Imran Zakhaev holds up the elevator and enters with his back turned to both Bell and Adler. The elevator doors close completely)

Zakhaev: (in Russian) Hmm... fresh faces. When did you two arrive?

Bell: (In Russian) Just today, actually

Zakhaev: (in Russian) Ah. Of course... Who did you say you report to again?

Bell: (In Russian) I didn't

(Zakhaev chuckles. He looks down at the glove covering Bell's metal hand)

Zakhaev: (In Russian) Why the glove, comrade?

Bell: (In Russian) ... Poor circulation

(Zakhaev whips out a pistol and whacks Adler with it before grabbing Bell and pointing it at him)

Zakhaev: Do not take me for a fool! Who are you?!

(Bell quickly grabs the barrel of Zakhaev's pistol with his metal hand and crushes it. Zakhaev tries to fire a shot, but the crushed barrel just explodes in his hand, mangling it)

Zakhaev: AAAAH-!

(Adler puts Zakhaev into a headlock, and Bell winds up his metal arm, punching Zakhaev right in the face, cracking his head open. Bell finishes him off with a nice hard punch from his metal arm)

Adler: Elevator conversation always gets awkward

Bell: A small price to pay

(Adler opens their duffel bag and takes out an AK-74u before kicking the bag over to Bell)

Adler: Gear up

(After Bell and Adler remove their disguises and equip themselves, they wait for the elevator to reach the bunker)

Adler: They won't be happy to see us down here. Wait for my word

(The elevator reaches the bunker and the doors open. Bell and Adler step out into the bunker and approach several guards conversing among themselves)

Soviet Soldier: And before Kravchenko could even--

(The soldiers notice Bell and Adler approach them, but they're too late. They all get shot up)

Adler: Bell. This way to the vault

(Adler kicks open a set of double doors. He and Bell fight their way through the bunker, killing all the Soviet soldiers who stand in their way)

Adler: Keep moving towards the vault! Advance!

(Bell and Adler continue their assault on the bunker, running and gunning)

Adler: We're getting close to the vault!

(After killing all the guards inside the bunker, they reach the entrance into the vault)

Adler: If things go south, we need to secure our exfil. Place a gas canister in the vent

(Bell tears open a vent door with his metal hand and places a gas canister inside the vent)

Adler: Good. Let's get to the vault

(Adler opens another door as he and Bell resume their attack)

Adler: We're almost to the vault

(Bell and Adler reach the entrance to the vault, which is heavily guarded by Soviet soldiers. Bell and Adler dispatch the guards together)

Adler: There it is. Open the door. I've got your back

(Bell inserts the bunker key into the panel next to the vault doors. The doors open up leading into the vault. Bell and Adler enter the vault and Adler closes the vault doors, before taking cover behind the computer desk)

Adler: You grab the intel. I'll keep watch

(Outside the vault, the sounds of guards shouting can be heard)

Adler: We don't have much time before they get through. Hurry up and get the intel

(Bell runs over to the vault computer and inserts the keycard into it. The computer boots up and reveals the options to choose intel for Sleeper Agents, Yamantau, and Dragovich. Bell selects "All" and "Copy to Disk")

(Bell inserts a floppy disk into the computer and copies the list onto it. The soldiers outside the vault use a torch to start cutting through the doors)

Adler: We're running out of time, Bell. They're cutting through. They're almost through the door!

(The soldiers stop cutting with the torch

Adler: Get ready - here they come

(Bell and Adler both get into position)

(The doors explode open, allowing the Soviet soldiers to pour into the vault. Bell and Adler shoot down the guards)

Adler: Halfway there! It's almost done copying!

(Bell and Adler stand their ground, blasting away as the soviet soldiers try to kill them)

(The disk finishes copying and Adler takes it out of the computer while Bell provides cover fire)

Adler: I've got the disk! Let's go!

(Bell and Adler exit the vault and hear a soldier's voice over the broadcast speaker system)

Soviet Soldier: (over speaker) Give up. You cannot escape

Adler: They're locking the place down. Follow me. This way

(Bell follows Adler as they run down a side tunnel as they fight their way out of the bunker)

Soviet Soldier: (over speaker) Surrender. You will not get away. Put your weapons down now and you will not be killed. We have blocked all exits. Surrender

(Bell and Adler enter a dimly-lit chamber in the bunker)

Adler: I don't like this. We're sittin' ducks here

(The chamber lights darken)

Adler: Keep moving. We need to find a way out

(Bell and Adler encounter Soviet soldiers with flashlights and kill them. Eventually, the duo reaches an exit on the other side of the room)

Adler: This might be a way out

(Bell and Adler head through the door and reach another door window. They see Belikov being held captive by a Soviet guard at gunpoint as more soldiers take up firing positions on the other side)

Soviet Soldier: You are surrounded. We have your friend.

Bell: They've got Belikov

Adler: Time for plan B, Bell. Activate the gas.

Soviet Soldier: Drop your weapons and surrender or he dies

(Bell takes out a remote control and deploys the gas. He and Adler quickly don their gas masks. The gas on the other side seeps into the room with the soldiers as they realize what is happening and choke on the fumes)

Adler: When we move, get a mask on Belikov. I'll cover you

(Adler bursts open the doors as he and Bell shoot the soldiers)

Adler: Come on. Move!

(Bell runs over to Belikov and puts a gas mask on him. Belikov coughs but recovers quickly. Adler helps him up)

Belikov: Thank you, my friends

Adler: What's the situation up top?

Belikov: They're on full alert, locking the building down

(Adler hands Belikov a Hauer 77 shotgun)

Adler: We'll have to fight out way out. We're gonna need some heavier gear

Belikov: I know just the place, my friend. There are heavy weapons by the elevator where they brought me down. We need to arm ourselves before reinforcements arrive. Keep moving. The gear is this way

(Bell, Adler, and Belikov resume their escape through the bunker and shoot any Soviet soldiers they encounter. They eventually reach the elevator where the heavy weapons and armor is stored)

Belikov: There's the gear. Body armor, helmets, LMGs and explosives...

Adler: Let's gear up and get up top

(The trio enter the elevator and gear up with the equipment and weapons. A short time later, Bell and Adler wait inside the elevator with belikov as they reach the main level of the KGB Headquarters. Adler talks with Lazar on the radio)

Adler: Lazar, meet us in the southwest courtyard in five minutes. And Belikov is hitching a ride

Lazar: Plenty of room in the back

Adler: Once we get off the elevator, just keep moving towards the courtyard. Get the charge ready, Bell

Bell: (Nods)

(Adler tosses an explosive to Bell, who then readies it. The elevator reaches the main lobby where dozens of Soviet soldiers wait outside for Bell, Adler, and Belikov)

Adler: Let's go, Bell. Drop em!

(Bell quickly throws the explosive at the soldiers, causing an explosion that takes out several guards. Bell, Adler, and Belikov fight their way through the lobby, killing any Soviets who try to stop them. They walk through the main part of the Lubyanka building, blasting)

Adler: Don't stop! We're almost there! Keep pushing!

(The trio reaches a set of double doors which Adler kicks down. More Soviet soldiers wait outside in the tunnel leading to the courtyard. Bell, Adler, and Belikov open fire on the soldiers)

Adler: Lazar should be just ahead

(Lazar can be seen swerving his car into the Soviets and sending them careening away)

Adler: Get to the car! I'll cover you!

(Bell and Belikov rush into the getaway car. The Soviet soldiers chase after them in the tunnel which is consumed by an explosion. Adler follows last as Bell exchanges gunfire with the soldiers. Adler enters the car)

Adler: Floor it! Drive!

(Lazar drives the car fast as they enter a tunnel. A Soviet vehicle pursues them, but Bell shoots it down, causing the car to block the tunnel completely)

Adler: Park, we've got the list and we're heading back. Be ready to move
