Cuba Briefing
05:49, 25 December 2024Hudson: It's about time. Been waiting for your call
Black: Adler's team caused a hell of a mess in Moscow. Was it worth it?
Hudson: Adler managed to get the list of sleeper agent names, despite himself. He's got balls, I'll give him that
Black: Bell did well
Hudson: Seemingly. But, I think that team is getting too comfortable. They're acting like they know who they're dealing with
Black: Perhaps
Hudson: Turns out one of those sleeper agents is tied to Operation Greenlight. Theodore Hastings. He's a nuclear engineer based out of Salt Lake City
Black: And you believe Hastings is the one he'll activate?
Hudson: Exactly. Total surveillance is already underway. It's only a matter of time before he leads us straight to Perseus
(At the CIA safehouse in Berlin, Adler is pointing to the evidence board)
Adler: This is it. The recent movements of Theodore Hastings has led us here
(Adler points to a spot on the evidence board)
Adler: Cuba. Right in our backyard
Park: A vacant government facility in the Cuban countryside has become a hub of activity for Perseus. And the likely location of the stolen nuke
Lazar: No doubt Castro allowed it
Woods: Twenty bucks to anyone who can bring him down before me
Lazar: Who, Castro or Perseus?
Woods: Whoever
Mason: I almost did
(Mason, Woods, and Lazar bump fists)
Hudson: We are not gonna let him move this nuke inside the States. It's time to take down Perseus once and for all. Team, wrap up any unfinished business. Once we strike, there's no turning back
(Hudson taps Woods on the shoulder)
Hudson: Woods. Don't get any bright ideas over there
Woods: Yeah. You've got my "sure as shit" guarantee, Hudson!
(Park walks up to Adler)
Park: May I have a word?
Adler: What's up?
Park: I need a few minutes of your time to discuss something. In private
Adler: Let's talk
(Adler and Park walk into a room)
Park: I can pass easily in Spain. In Havana, they'll identify me as a gringa as soon as I open my mouth. Lets talk about cover
(Adler and Park close the door and close the window blinds)
(Sims and Lazar inspect a deadly-looking sniper rifle)
Sims: Decked out with all my specifications?
Lazar: Mmm hmm. Won't find half-baked rigs here
Sims: Feels nice. I think I'm ready to ruin someone's day
Lazar: How 'bout we grab a bite to eat on the way out, eh? Get properly fueled up
Sims: Food before a fight? Nah. Come morning of the attack, I need to be hungry, like a predator. C'mon. Let's get this baby sighted in
Lazar: Fella's gotta eat
Sims: Hey, I like the bladed marksman trigger. Nice touch
Lazar: Two and a quarter pound pull. Just how you like it. I could go for two quarter pound hamburgers right now...
Woods: Look alive, it's Adler's protege
Mason: Bell
Bell: Mason. Woods
Woods: In all these years, nothing's changed. Hudson still has the personality of a wet fuckin' blanket
Bell: Hudson sounded concerned about you
Woods: You got a point in saying that?
Mason: You sound concerned too. If you're trying to be friendly, this is the dumbest way to go about it
(Mason and Woods glare at Bell. Bell immediately feels the sense of un-ease... Until they crack smiles)
Woods: We're just fuckin' with ya! He should be concerned
Bell: You seem pretty calm, all things considered
Woods: Yeah, well you just snuck into the KGB with Adler, hacked their database and got out in one piece. And I'll be going in with my boy Mason here. If I were Perseus, I'd be running for the hills!
Mason: And I'd be calling in a mortar strike on that hill
Bell: This Perseus mission feels like it began a lifetime ago
Mason: For Adler, it's a culmination of three decades of meticulous tracking. He'll probably be extra pissy on this mission. I advise you to stay focused and drop the nostalgia
Bell: I am focused
Mason: Good. Then you're ready
Woods: Look. You better buck up, buddy. Adler's gonna want you more committed than a grenade without its pin
Bell: Later
Woods: Yep
Mason: Later, Bell
Adler: Hastings left Salt Lake City. We tracked his movements all the way to Cuba. We have to assume that Perseus moved the nuke there
Hudson: Langley believes Castro could Help Perseus smuggle it into the US. In exchange for a peek at the hardware, of course
Adler: That isn't going to happen
Park: What's the plan?
Hudson: The last read we have on Hastings came from 30 miles south of Havana. We suspect Perseus is using an abandoned compound there to hold the nuke. They're working under the radar, so expect moderate security
Lazar: I say we smash and grab. Parachute in. Grab the nuke. Sky-hook out
Park: And what if the nuke isn't there?
Hudson: It's there. The only reason Perseus needs Hastings in Cuba is to prepare for arming and detonation
Adler: There you have it. Hudson will arrange our exfil while we're en route. If everyone's ready, let's move out
