19. Sunrise on the Balcony

"You look niiiiice." Jax observes, drawing out the last word.

"Um, thanks!" I respond and look around.

"I was talking to all of you, duh. I like your color scheme." Jax takes my hand and spins me around.

"Mhm." Jocelyn needles skeptically, and I roll my eyes.

"I ship Jillyyy!" Jocelyn whispers, just loud enough for me to hear.

"Shut up."

We arrive at the doors to the balcony where the outdoor dining area is located.

Jax and Ollie open the doors for us.

"This... this is insane." I marvel. "With the marble floors, quartz pillars, and long glass table with gold silverware and fancy glasses, I feel like I'm at a three Michelin star restaurant in Haddingford."

"Right?" Jax says. "Might just be my favorite part of this castle."

"The sunrise is beautiful!" AG says. The sun has just started to come up, painting yellow, orange, and pink colors onto the sky.

Whether it's at the long bench on one side or a chair on the other, we all take a seat at the table, just as the servers arrive.

They bring a large platter of freshly baked waffles and an array of toppings including maple syrup, chocolate syrup, huckleberry syrup, chocolate chips, and tons more.

"I put loads of caramel sauce on this waffle, it's so good!" Ollie says.

"Of course you did, you're obsessed with caramel!" Kayla says. "Is this where we're gonna eat everyday?"

"Three meals a day, seven days a week." Jax answers. "Except on Wednesday, where dinner will be served in the grand ballroom."

"I can't wait for that!" AG utters.

"Ready for a castle tour?" Jax asks, and we all stand up from our seats. Breakfast was amazing.

"I think so!" Maxine says.

"Ok! Since you've already seen the grand foyer, the guest rooms, and two of the dining rooms, where do you wanna go?" Jax asks.

"Potions lab and security center!" Jocelyn says.

"The weapon chambers and the movie theaters!" Ollie says.

"The royal box at the rugby field!" AG says.

"Swimming pools and archery range!" I say.

"The kitchens and mermaid passageways!" Maxine says.

"Fairy gardens and wand room!" Kayla says.

"Wow. So, you want to see everything. Let's go! Emmerlyn and Annalyse, you can come with." Jax says.
