Chaerin's POV

I woke up as my phone alarm went off. I got ready and went downstairs. Only to find no one in the dining room, as usual.

"Dr. Ahn." head maid called

"I'll try calling him."

She bowed.

I went upstairs and knocked on his door. On my first knock, Felix opened the door and he was wearing his formal attire which shocked me. I would always find him on his bed every morning and when I get home.

"Uh... I guess you have an important meeting today that made you stand up?"

"Not a meeting, but I have to take care of something." Felix said and fold up his sleeves to his elbow

"What is it?"

"I'll tell you later. Let's go down first." he said and left his room

I spent a lot of nights here ever since his parents died. I stayed with him and will only leave for my work. Minho is still not over what happened, he blames himself. Seungmin kept asking about Felix and I would give the same answer.

But seeing Felix going back to his normal self shocked me a lot.

I went to the dining room and saw him smiling at me. I just smiled back and sat down facing him.

"Can everyone leave us for a moment?" he asked politely

All of the maids left, except Felix's assistant.

"Something confidential?"

"Yeah." he said and started eating

"What is it?"

"All the lawyers that were linked to us before, and kept volunteering to be our family lawyer. They all refused to help with the case." Felix

"What?"

"It was a life-threatening one. Anyone getting involved can be in danger. That is why they refused to help us. But those lawyers, they are the ones we helped during those times when Dad was still in the throne." Felix sarcastically chuckled

"How about your family lawyer? The one handling the cases regarding the inheritance."

"He refused." Felix

That's fucked up. Felix needed them.

"Why are you looking for lawyers?"

"I wanted to find who killed my parents. I know it wasn't just an accident. I know someone planned this. Mom and Dad were rushing to leave as soon as possible, and that day they expressed their love to me which they have never done. I didn't even notice." he sounds so disappointed

"Have you tried offering big money?"

"I tried, it wasn't just money. I even offered to let them decide what they want but they refused." Felix

After lunch with Felix. I left for work and he has to go somewhere. As I arrived, nurses greeted me as well as the doctors. Seungmin and Minho were not here yet. I assume they are night shifts.

"Dr. Ahn, someone's in your office." Nurse Yuri said

"Thanks. I'll go there."

I am not expecting any visitors though. I know they won't let anyone in, if they don't know the person. After what happened to me, the hospital became strict with visitors and even hired officers to patrol around the area.

As I went inside my office, I noticed a familiar figure sitting on the couch while staring at the picture frame which has my wedding photo.

"Hyunjin."

He looked back and gave me a smile as he saw me, "Hey."

How can he act like nothing happened? Like things are going well for the both of us? How can he act like he never left me?

"How was Felix?" he asked

"He is fine. He is going back to his normal self. Nothing to worry about."

"I am glad." he smiled once again

I stayed silent as I went to my seat-

"You received Sangmi's letter?" he asked

"What's your deal? Why are you here?"

"I heard that all the lawyers refused to help Felix with the case of his parents. I also helped some of my lawyers in my law firm but they refused as well." Hyunjin said

"Felix doesn't need your help. He can do it by himself. He can find a lawyer."

"But can he find one as early as possible? Before someone is involved again? Before someone dies?" Hyunjin asked

"You did your part. You offered your lawyers and they refused-"

"That's why I will take the case." he said

"What did you say?"

"I'll help Felix." Hyunjin

"Are you dumb?! You know how dangerous it is! You know how life-threatening it is! Why are you being such a hero and will sacrifice your help?! If Felix needs you, he will ask you! Why the hell are you deciding-"

"Because he knows that you will get mad if he asks me." Hyunjin

"He doesn't need you!"

"Chaerin, I can gather all the evidence as soon as possible. I can study this case all night and solve it. Felix needs me. He needed me. He needed us. He needed justice for what happened to his parents." Hyunjin

"Why the hell did you go here? For what?"

"I wanted to tell you about it. I wanted you to be aware. It will be more dangerous now. I won't go home for a long time. I want you to stay safe, I talked to Heiran and she approved for you to stay at her place." Hyunjin

My tears started falling as I watched him.

"Chaerin, I will be fine." he said as he caress my cheeks and wiped my tears

"This is too dangerous... I don't want to lose you."

"Nothing bad will happen to me, I promise-" Hyunjin

"If you continue... I will file a divorce."
