Chapter Ten

Warnings: angst, kidnapped, being drained of blood

Summary: You get sucked into Dean's world more than he wanted you to, and he can't save you this time. He tries to track down Richard and speaks with one of his girls who is willing to talk to him. Richard is more than a vampire who participates in the blood slave trading. He's someone who has direct access to Dean's past, and he's not sure if he's ready to face him again.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you stay until the morning, you'll fall right back into his trap. He'll look at you with those irresistible green eyes and you'll fold. You pack what very little you have into a backpack and slip out of your room without a sound. You estimate you have about five minutes to leave before Dean either hears you or smells you leaving.

There isn't much moonlight to light your way but you follow the same path you took yesterday to get to the main road. You're kind of glad about there not being any moonlight so you can stay in the shadows in case anyone is looking for you. You're not sure who would be except for Dean, and he has your scent so it'll be easy for him to track you.

You've been walking for ten minutes down the long stretch of road when you feel eyes on you. You look around but you can't see anything except for the vast expanse of darkness. It's the same feeling you got when Amber took you to Richard's house. You quicken your pace because you don't want to be here anymore than you have to be. If you can just get to the road, then you can get on a bus and go back home.

Home. do you still have a home? You wanted to sell the house but that was before knowing what you know now. If you're lucky, your parent's house is still standing without an owner. You bet if you beg for it back, you can.

A twig behind you snaps and that causes you to go into a light jog but the feeling of dread doesn't stop there. Another twig has you full-on running down the street and that's when you hear footsteps behind you. You look behind you while running but you don't see anyone there. When you look forward, you crash into someone standing in your way. You're about to fall on your ass when the person catches you.

It's Richard only he doesn't look like the Richard you saw before. He still has a beer belly and hairy arms but he looks healthier and younger. His beard is cut and trimmed, his hair is shinier, his teeth are a few shades whiter, and his beer belly is a few inches slimmer. He has the same evil look in his eyes that makes your blood curl. You immediately try to struggle out of his arms but his vampire strength keeps you right in front of him.

"You really think I'd let you go?" He laughs and leans in closer to you. "No, you're mine now."

Dean wakes up right before the sun can peek into his room and fear prickles at his neck. He uses his vampire speed to run to your room but you're not there. It takes him five minutes to search the entire house when he uses his speed but you're not anywhere. He doesn't waste any time getting ready before he leaves the house with your scent heavy on his nose.

He loses your scent in the middle of the road so you either hitchhiked somewhere or you got kidnapped, and he knows you. You wouldn't have gotten into a car with a stranger knowing there are dangerous vampires out there. You were kidnapped and he knows exactly who took you.

Richard is a very hard man to track but maybe he can track him either through Amber or the girls he had. He hates the idea of going to those vulnerable girls and making them relive what they went through but Amber is a hard one to track. If Amber is indebted to Richard, she won't give anything up. Not like she'll say anything to him anyway.

No, if he's going to find you, he has to go to the girls who were abused. He shakes his head and takes out his phone to call the one person he trusts right now.

"Hey, Dean."

"Cas. I hate the thought of asking this but where did Richard's girls go?"

"Why? You never want to know where they go."

"Richard took Y/N."

"Shit. Um, yeah, let me see–wait, are you sure it's a good idea to put them through this again?"

"This is Y/N, Cas. I don't care if she looks like Annabeth. I don't care if she has special blood. I just want her to be okay, but she's in danger and that makes me want to roll heads." Dean takes a deep breath. "I only want to talk to the ones who want to talk to me. If none of them do, I'll try another way. I need to know where he might have gone next. I know he has houses all over this state."

"I'll make some calls. I'll let you know."

Dean heads back to his house knowing there is no reason to be out here. He stays in his office and does as much research on Richard as he can while he waits for Cas to call him back. Richard has property in New York but he doesn't think he'd take you down there. Unless Richard used another name, Dean knows all of his properties in Rhode Island. He has been to all of them countless times but there were no traces of girls anywhere. Dean was lucky to have found the girls he did. His phone rings and Dean answers it when he sees Cas' name.

"What do you got?"

"Only one girl agreed to talk to you."

"That's all I need. Send me the address."

"Already sent it."

Dean immediately heads over to the house where Richard's girls were taken. Cas must have called ahead because the front door opened before Dean could even knock.

"Just for the record, I think this is a bad idea. Let these girls heal."

"Save me the speech, Rowena," Dean rolls his eyes. "Where is she?"

"Right this way."

Rowena has been such a strong support system for these girls. She's the one to help them heal by creating a safe space and letting them talk to each other. There are activities she encourages the girls to do until they are well enough to either go back to their parents or to be on their own. There is more than one safe house in Rhode Island so she bounces between them frequently and helps out the staff.

Rowena takes Dean into one of the living rooms she emptied to give the young girl and Dean some privacy. Dean passes by a group of young girls who keep their heads down in shame. It'll be a long time before any of them are okay again. The young girl who Dean is meeting is nervously bouncing her leg while biting her thumbnail and Dean has to push his feelings down. If it were anyone else, he'd find another way but he has to get to you as soon as possible.

"Amanda? This is Dean Winchester. He'd like to talk to you if that's okay."

"Yeah, I guess."

"Amanda, if you don't want to talk to me, I will leave."

"No, it's okay."

"I can stay if you'd like," Rowena offered.

"No, it's okay. I'd rather do this alone."

Rowena nods and leaves the room and Dean looks at Amanda who can't seem to look at him in the eyes.

"I know this is a lot to ask of you and I would never do this to you, but someone I love has been taken by the man who took you. I have to find her."

"I understand."

Amanda runs her hands over her arms and Dean notices the plenty of bite marks Richard has left behind. His blood would heal her of any scar but his blood would also turn her and he doesn't think she'd appreciate being turned.

"What can you tell me about Richard?"

"He was dirty and smelled really bad like blood and rotting food. He didn't care about anyone but himself and what we could do for him. He kept just enough blood in us so we wouldn't die but he'd take enough to keep up delirious and dazed. When he took blood, he'd give us food and water to give us some energy back but I don't think the food was ever good for us. He was a blood addict but he managed to keep us all alive."

"Was there any indication or anything you noticed about him that will tell you where he is going next? Any places he might have owned?"

"I don't know. He kept a bunch of us at different houses. Whenever he was gone, he'd leave his guards behind to watch over us. It was the only time we could relax knowing he didn't like anyone touching what was his."

Dean sighs and rubs his hands together anxiously.

"Did he leave anything behind to show where his other houses were?"

"I remember walking through the hallways and seeing his office door open. The guards were busy with the other girls who were throwing up so I snuck inside. I saw a map of Rhode Island."

"Do you think you can recreate the map?"

"I can try," she stutters. "I was pretty out of it."

"I understand. Anything will help."

Dean provides her with a piece of paper and a pen and watches her as she creates a map of stick houses and trees. She does what she can before handing the paper over. She also wrote down some street names so Dean is familiar with where the houses are. There are two spots he has never been to before which means the houses are not in Richard's name or they are very recent.

"Thank you for doing this. I know it wasn't easy."

Dean gets up to leave, but Amanda stops him before he can open the door.

"Wait, there is one more thing." He turns to face her. "He made phone calls a lot to someone. I never knew what they were talking about, but I did hear a name. Sam."

Dean's blood turns ice-cold when he hears his brother's name. No, it can't be. Dean watches his brother die after he ripped his throat out with his teeth. He never fed him his blood so he knows he wasn't turned. Did someone come and save him? It can't be the same person, can it? It's been centuries since that night happened. Sam can't be human if it is him.

"Thank you. Put this behind you. You're safe now."

"It's going to be a while before I can feel safe but I appreciate it."

Dean says goodbye to Rowena before leaving the house. Cas is leaning against his van in thought but perks up when he sees Dean walking over to him. Dean tells him everything Amanda told him with a frown on his face.

"It can't be Sam, right? He's dead. I killed him myself."

"I'll look into this. I have connections everywhere. Give me some time."

"I don't think Y/N has time."

"I'll work fast."

*********

You roll your head to the side and let out a breathy moan of pain. Your entire body is sore and tired like you've been fighting ten rounds with Mike Tyson. Did you faint? Did Richard knock you out? You open your eyes and hear a soft beeping coming from your left. You're inside a bedroom that looks like it came right out of your grandmother's house.

You look to the left and see monitors that normally belong in a hospital. There are wires hooked up to it so you follow them with your eyes. The wires are connected to two tubes inside your arm that are blood-red. You're being drained of your blood which is why you feel so tired. You try to yank your arm away but you can barely lift it much less do anything else.

The more you fight, the less energy you'll have. Soon, you'll be dead if this continues. You groan and stare at the door willing Dean to come through it and save you.

You shouldn't have left his house this morning.
