Chapter 20 – Epilogue

Madison's P.O.V.

“DOCTOR!” I yelled, as the Slitheen edged ever closer to me.

“There is no point in crying for The Doctor, child! He is dead! Nobody can save you now!” The Slitheen taunted, lifting it's claw above it's head to kill me.

“Wanna bet?” A voice called out, from behind the Slitheen.

“But that's impossible! How did you survive our trap?”

“Easy! Thought about Maddy needing my help. Nothing will keep me from my wife.” The Doctor smirked, coming to stand by me.

“Well you took your time!” I scolded, hitting his arm playfully.

“Sorry, dear! I was busy! Now, are you Slitheen going to bugger off or I'm going to have to stop you myself.” He warned, becoming serious.

“Nobody shall stop us, Doctor! We shall stand victorious! And this time, Doctor, you shall be killed along with your little wife too!” The Slitheen laughed, as they got closer to us again.

“Little wife? I'm not that small! Doctor, am I small?” I demanded, looking up to The Doctor.

“You are a little small, darling!”

“What? To think I married you! Now, Slitheen! This is your last chance! Leave now and nobody gets hurt!” I shouted, turning my attention back to them.

“NO! The Earth will hurt when we drain it's power and kill off every last stinking human, for our harvest!”

“Yeah, like we're going to let that happen!” The Doctor smirked.

“Oh but you can't stop us, Doctor and Madison! You're trapped with no way of escape. The system is on automatic countdown and Planet Earth shall be wiped away from the Universe in 30 seconds. You have no plan, no way of escape and no weapons.”

“Okay, so maybe we didn't think of that!” I replied, rolling my eyes.

“Now, watch the planet burn with us.” They yelled, shoving us over to a large window overlooking the Earth.

“What do we do?” I hissed.

“I really don't know, Maddy. They're right. We have no way of getting out of this one. Earth's doomed and it's our fault.” The Doctor replied, looking down at his feet.

“Hey, you sound like you're giving up. When do we ever give up? Geronimo! Fight until there is nothing left?” I smiled, lifting his chin with my finger.

“Like always. I love you.”

“Love you too. In 3...2...1...” I whispered, pressing a quick kiss to The Doctor's lips.

“GO!” The Doctor yelled, making me turn into action.

We quickly turned and tried to shove away any Slitheen that came near us, but they were too quick. They soon grabbed us again and pressed us against the wall.

“You think you can escape us! Ahahahahahaha! You are just fools of the Universe. Now watch your beloved second home burn in 10...9....8...”The Slitheen laughed, as they counted down.

“Doctor! We need to do something!” I cried, watching as a laser was beginning to point out towards Earth.

“7...6....5...”

“Maddy, we can't do anything. I'm so sorry.”

“4....3....2....1...ACTIVATE!” The Slitheen all cried, with pride in their voices.

Suddenly, the entire ship was plunged into darkness, as an alarm rung out across the ship.

“WARNING! SHIP POWERING DOWN! WARNING SHIP POWERING DOWN!”

“What is going on?” A Slitheen yelled, as me and The Doctor exchanged confused glances.

“Something seems to have turned off your power supply. But that's impossible, we're the only ones on your ship. Me, Maddy and you three Slitheen. Nothing could have turned off your power.” The Doctor explained, looking round confused.

“Well I guess you forgot about me!” A voice called out from the door.

“Oh no...” I muttered, shaking my head.

“Who is this? Where did it come from?” A Slitheen screeched.

“It? I'm a girl, thank you! And I'm here to take you down. Now, this might look like a normal gun but it's not. It's filled with vinegar. Now move and let The Doctor and Madison go, or you'll die.” The girl demeaned.

“She used my real name...” I whispered, as The Doctor became angry.

“It's just a bluff. Leave our ship or stay and die!”

“Wanna bet?” She cried, before squirting vinegar over the three Slitheen.

“AHHHHH! You stupid child!” The Slitheen screamed, as they withered around in pain.

“Oh no. It's going to happen isn't it. They're going to blow up.”

“Yeah, they are. And I'm very sorry.” The Doctor smiled, grabbing my hand.

“What for?” I asked.

“This.” He answered as he shoved me in front of him.

“DOCTOR!” I screamed, as he held me and he hid behind me.

The three green aliens let out their final screams, before they quickly exploded into large clumps of green goo and slime. I shrieked in disgust, as it covered my hair, face and all of my body.

“Oh no... Sorry, love. Didn't want to ruin my hair.” The Doctor laughed, as he moved out from behind me.

“But you wanted to ruin mine? Great to see how we work!” I yelled, flicking goo at him.

“Not my fault. Blame the girl who blew them up. Speaking of her...” The Doctor sighed, becoming serious.

“That's my cue to leave.”

“AMELIA ROSE MELODY MARTHA BROWN!” The Doctor screamed, making me smirk.

“You called, Dad?” Amelia smiled, walking over to us.

“What part of stay in the TARDIS and do not leave, did you not get?”

“The 'not' part.” She replied, in a 'duh' tone, folding her arms.

“I told you not leave because it was dangerous and you could've been killed.” The Doctor scolded, looking to me for support.

“But if she had listened to you, which even I never do, we would be dead. And so would the entire planet. Is that a good thing?” I smirked, putting an arm around my daughters shoulders.

“What? Don't stick up for her when I'm angry at her.” He pouted.

“You're angry at me for saving the planet? Okay...” Amelia speculated, smiling with me.

“No, I... But, I... What I meant was... Arghh, Maddy!” He cried, stomping his foot.

“Geez, sometimes it's like having two teenagers. Are we ganging up on you? Again.” I muttered.

“Yes! Stop it!”

“Aww, deary me! Come him, Mr Miserable!” I smiled, kissing him.

“Eurgh. That's gross. Oh my god, mum! You got alien guts on my top. This was new as well!” Amelia moaned, stomping her foot.

“Is that one River sent you for your birthday today?” I asked, turning to face her.

“Yeah, Auntie River got it specially from Earth! She knew it was the one I liked.”

“I'm sure the TARDIS will get it clean for you.” The Doctor sighed, placing his hand in mine.

“Yeah... Speaking of the TARDIS.. We may want to get back to there quick...Before this place blows up.” Amelia chuckled nervously, as she backed away from us.

“What are you talking about?”

“Oh, did I not say? I set this place to self destruct. I swear I told you, I even set a reminder.”

“WARNING! SHIP SELF DESTRUCT IN 1 MINUTE! WARNING! SHIP SELF DESTRUCT IN 1 MINUTE!”

“See, there it is. Last one back to the TARDIS is Slitheen guts!” She chucked, before dashing out from the room.

“Remind me why we had kid?” I sighed, rolling my eyes.

“To be fair, we didn't get much choice did we? Our life was hardly planned around her. Anyway, come along, dear. Lets go with the plan.” He replied.

“What plan?”

“Run.” He smirked, before pulling me along with him.

We quickly sped out the room and down various corridors, before realizing we were quite lost. But luckily, we saw Amelia run out the TARDIS as wave us down the right way. The Doctor and Amelia ran inside before me, as I leapt in quickly and slammed the doors shut tightly behind me.

“External shields on! Please, TARDIS! Doctor, get us out of here!” I shouted loudly, as the noise of explosions outside the door grew larger.

“Already on it, Love.” He replied, whizzing his way round the console.

“I'll just be off....” Amelia muttered, as she turned to walk up the stairs.

“Amelia Rose Melody Martha Brown, get your guilty arse back here now!” I demanded, pointing to the ground in front of me.

“I really wish you'd stop using my full name on me...” She mumbled, rolling her eyes as she made her way to me.

“What the hell did you blow up their ship?”

“Eh. Got bored.” She shrugged, slumping down onto the chair.

“Oh, you are so his child.” I giggled, pointing to The Doctor who was watching us, as I sat next to Amelia.

“At least she's not using guns. That would make her your child.” The Doctor teased.

“I know she's my child, anyway. I carried her round for 9 months. I was the size a planet.” I retorted, poking my tongue out at him.

“Yeah, I noticed.”

“Oi! Rude.”

“You know I didn't mean it. You always looked... ohh.. sexy.” He smirked, placing a kiss to my lips.

“That is disgusting. And on that note, I'm going to get changed. I need a better outfit. We still going to Earth with Auntie Martha, Uncle Mickey and Jack?” Amelia asked, pushing away from the seat.

“Yeah, we'd better head off soon. Go get changed and quick!”

“Father, I am a girl. I will take as long as I need. You should know that from Mum. Ciao.” She waved, darting off into the TARDIS.

“She's such an... interesting child.” I smiled, as The Doctor sat down beside me.

“Tell me about it. Can't believe she's 15 today.” He sighed, putting an around my shoulders.

“Doesn't feel like it. Feels like she was only born yesterday. Well... the pain doesn't make it feel that way..”

“I can still remember the day clearly..”

“Dear god. The panic we went through.” I breathed, as I remembered the day.

“Madison, I am sorry. I am so, so sorry.”

“Doctor, you're scaring me. What's wrong? Please! Tell me.” I begged, letting the tears flow down my face.

“She's... She's not.. crying or.. breathing... I'm so sorry, darling. I really am.”

“No, please. Please, Doctor, please. You promised. You promised you would save her and everything would be fine! WHY CAN'T EVERYTHING JUST BE FINE FOR ONCE?!” I cried, completely balling my eyes out.

“You're right.”

“What?” I asked, looking up at him, to see him stood beside me and staring down at the baby.

“I promised I would save her. So, I'm going to. But I'm going to need your help and I need you to be extremely brave. I need you, Madison. Trust me.” He rambled, carefully placing our baby beside me and taking my hand.

“Always. I'll do whatever.”

“We need to pass on regeneration energy. But because she's... not alive... We need to use a lot.. So it may hurt. So please only do it if you completely agree and you are capable of this.” He explained, as a stray tear fell from his eyes.

“Save our daughter's life? I'm capable of anything right now. Please, lets just do this now.” I smiled, sitting up and clutching his hand tighter.

“Okay. Right. I want you to place a hand, or seeing as she's so small, a finger on her left heart. I'll do the same with her right. Then, pass on the regeneration energy. Make sure you keep hold of my hand though as well, so the connection doesn't break. Are you sure you can do this?”

“I can do anything. Especially if you're here.”

“Lets do this then.” He replied, placing a kiss to my lips before turning back to our daughter.

We then both focused all our might into transferring our regeneration towards our daughter's heart. Gold wisps of air shot out and around the room, before heading to our baby. The Doctor's hand clutched harder and harder against mine, as the pain showed up on his face. Eventually his hand became weaker in mine, and I looked over to see him letting go of my hand.

“Madison... Stop..”

“NO! We can't give up. We need to save her. Please, do not give up on her.” I snapped, trying harder than ever.

“I'm not giving up on her. I'm letting go. If we carry on we'll both end up dying and I'm not losing you both. Please, Maddy. Let her go. We tried the best we could. Let her go.” The Doctor whispered, resting his forehead against mine.

“I've failed. I've failed as her mum. She was suppose to be starting out a great life in the stars, and protect her, but I've let her down. This is all my fault.” I sobbed, dropping my hands to my side and letting the tears flow constantly.

“No, Maddy, no. Don't say that. This isn't your fault.”

“Yes, it is! I put stress on myself and didn't look after myself properly. It's my fault. I killed our daughter.”

“Madison, stop now. This is not your fault, it never will be. Please, do not blame yourself. I love you so, so much. Please, please don't do this.”

“WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

“Dear god, you cry weirdly.” I cried, looking up into his eyes.

“That wasn't me.”

“WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

“Oh. My. God.” The Doctor breathed.

We both turned out heads, only to see our daughter wriggling around on the bed as she cried her eyes out.

“Ahaha, oh my god. Haha, we did it. We saved her. SHE'S ALIVE!” I cheered in delight and relief, as I scooped her up in my arms and cradled her close.

“Oh thank the gods of Gallifrey. She's an amazing miracle! Just like her old Mum, hey. I can't believe we did it. She's so beautiful.” The Doctor rambled, kissing both our foreheads.

“Just like her older Dad.” I joked, not being able to stop smiling.

“Well.. Just like both her parents... OH MY GOD, NAMES! What are we doing about names?”

“Umm... I don't know.. Shall we both say girls names and just choose? Are we using my last name as you don't have one?”

“I suppose so. 3...2...1..”

“Melody and Martha.”

“Rose.”

“Rose? Really?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Yeah, it's a nice name and pays homage to your life with the other Doctor. Melody, seriously?” He explained.

“Yeah, pays homage to River. Thought it would be a nice gesture. So, Rose Melody Martha Brown? Hmmmm... Doesn't sound right... Like there's something missing.” I pondered.

“They could be here middle names, then we would need a first name. But what? Jessica? Madison? Lily? Delilah? Danielle? Olivia? Mellisa? Elizabeth?....”

“Amelia.” I muttered.

“Amelia. Amelia Rose Melody Martha Brown. Hmmm...”

“I just thought Amelia... Because y'know.. Amy and Rory... We could hardly call her Rory. We don't have to call her it.. It was just an idea....”

“No, I love it. Hello, Amelia Rose Melody Martha Brown. Welcome to the universe.”

“We gave her the best name.” The Doctor laughed.

“We really did. Wonder where shes got too... I'll go find out. I'll get changed while I'm there.. See you in a bit.” I smiled, kissing him lightly before wondering off into the TARDIS.

So, busy life for 15 years, huh?

After Amelia was born, we took her back to Earth to show her off. We brought Mickey and Martha back with us, and invited River along, and christened her in a Time-Lord fashion on board the TARDIS. Mickey became her god-father and River and Martha became her God-Mothers.

Speaking of Mickey and Martha, they had their baby! Just months after me, Martha gave birth to Jack Rory Smith. Awesome last name, right? Me and The Doctor are his god-parents, along with a man called Captain Jack Harkness, who is a friend of theirs and The Doctor's. We visit them often and meet up, along with Jack and River.

Oh, River Song. How times have changed with her. We've actually become good friends. The Doctor was quite shocked when she turned up again and we got along. She was rather pleased that we used her real name as part of Amelia's name, she was even more pleased with her first name. River had completely got over The Doctor now, as she had a new love. In the name of CAPTAIN JACK HARKNESS! River has never been so happier, and finds him a better match than The Doctor. God, there has never been so much flirting....

It's been 15 years since we lost the Ponds. A day doesn't go by when we don't think or talk about them. I believe The Doctor is still hurting, as I am too, but not as badly as he was. We've had a few more people travel with us since Amy and Rory. Had a lovely girl named Clara Oswald. She got on great with Amelia. Can't really say what happened to her... Spoilers...

So, we've had a pretty busy 15 years.. Traveling the universe, saving lives, defeating aliens, running about, and all with our teenage daughter.

“MUM! I need help!”

“Alright, I'm coming.. What is it?” I asked, rushing into the wardrobe.

“Help me with the zipper, please?”

“Sure thing. So.. how's my birthday girl?” I inquired, pulling up the zip on the back of her dress.

“Yeah, I'm fine. Mum, can I ask you a question? It's about my name.” Amelia pondered, bitting her lip.

“Go on..”

“Well, my full name is Amelia Rose Melody Martha Brown. A mouthful, I know. The 'Brown' is your last name. Martha is from Auntie Martha and the same for Auntie River. And I've met them plenty of times. What about the Amelia and Rose parts?”

“Amelia, you are named after 4 of the most important woman in the universe. Martha is one of mine and your Dad's oldest and dearest friends. She has been there for me in everything. She even use to travel in the TARDIS with your father. She lost everything in her life because of me, but she rebuilt it because she's so strong.

“River is the daughter of mine and your Dad's old friends. I wasn't very fair to her in the past, and to be honest, we never got on. Like, really, really never got on. Basically, she tried to kill me but I lived, we fought. But we over came that, and she is a very good friend to me.

“Rose was a friend of your father, a long time ago. But he lost her to a Parallel Universe, when she saved the world. She lived there with another version of your father, but he was human and they were in love. But, a while back I lived in a Parallel World, and Rose died. I never met her but she had a huge impact of your Dad's life.

“Amelia, or Amy Pond, was a brilliant, fiery, Scottish wonder. She was married to the last centurion, Rory Williams. They were River's parents, and mine and your father's best friends. They were with us through everything and you couldn't meet better people. But, we lost them 15 years ago. Exactly 15 years ago. They died in Manhattan, to the Weeping Angels. Amy gave up her life with us, to be with the man she loved. You were born later that day, so they never got to meet you.

“That's who you're named after. The 4 most important people in the whole of creation.” I explained, wiping away a stray tear after I finished.

“They all sound.. amazing. I wish I could have people like them in my life. But, you're wrong Mum. I'm not named after the 4 most important people in the whole of creation. I'm named after 4 out of 5 of them. Because I'm not named after you, Mum.” Amelia smiled, pulling me into a hug.

“You are the best daughter anybody could ever have. I love you so much.”

“Love you too, Mum. Now, come on. Lets get you an outfit to go out in.”

“And.... Done. Vwala! You may take a look! Wow, Mum. You look hot.” Amelia laughed, pushing me to the mirror.

Eh, she wasn't wrong! Amelia, being the spitting image of me, had found a dress similar to hers. We both had floral print dresses on, with black tights, converses and a jacket. We both looked quite alike..

“Ooo, nice job, Amelia. You look very nice too. Come on, lets get back to your Dad.”I smiled, looping my arm with hers as we walked back towards the console room.

“Ah, there you are! Geez, like Mother like daughter. You both took forever!” The Doctor exclaimed.

“When did you all get here?” Amelia asked.

Mickey was now sat on a chair, with Martha balanced on his lap. Jack, who was going to be 15 in a few months, was leaning against the main console. Also, River and Captain Jack were sat on the floor, with Captain Jack fiddling with River's hair.

“Well, since you two took so long, I went back to Earth to grab Mickey, Martha and Jack. River and Captain Jack had just turned up.” The Doctor explained, grabbing my hand and pulling me to the console.

“We're girls. We're allowed to take our time. We need to time make ourselves look pretty. Ask anybody.” I stated.

“It's true.” Martha smiled, earning a high-five from me.

“Eh, you don't need time. You're already pretty beautiful.” The Doctor smirked, kissing my cheek.

“Ha. Shut up.” I sighed, sitting down next to Martha.

“Hello... Jack.” Amelia smiled, hugging Jack quickly.

“Hi, Amelia. You look.... great.. really, great. Happy Birthday.” Jack complimented, kissing her cheek, causing her to blush.

Oh yeah, Jack and Amelia are together... What are the chances?

“Aww, they're so cute.” Me and Martha cooed.

“Yeah, adorable.” The Doctor and Mickey muttered.

“Haha, shut up, please. Auntie River! Hey, thanks for the top! Captain Jack! Good to see you again.” Amelia rushed, hugging them both.

“Good to see you too, kid. Happy birthday!” Captain Jack smiled back.

“No problem, Amelia. Glad you liked it. Happy Birthday!” River said, patting Amelia's shoulder.

“Speaking of my birthday... Are we going out or not?”

“Yes, yes! We are. Thought we could all go for a meal somewhere in the Universe and made have an adventure or two. That sound good?” The Doctor explained, lunching himself at the console, pulling me along.

“Sounds perfect. Thanks, guys!” Amelia smiled, hugging me and The Doctor.

“So, where we going?” I asked.

“Oh, I dunno. We've got the entire Universe at our feet. The whole of Time and Space. We've got a bigger-on-the-inside spaceship. We can go meet anybody, see anything, or be any when. So, where do you want to go?” The Doctor rambled, putting his hand in mine.

“As long as I've got all this around me.” I stated, pointing to the TARDIS and our 'family'. “I don't care. We can do anything. Goodbye Earth, hello Universe.”

The Doctor then flipped the large red switch causing a goofy smile to place itself upon his face. Martha, Mickey, River, Captain Jack, Amelia and Jack all clutched to the railings and chairs, as a loud laugh escaped escaped my lips. We were then set off flying into the future, with our destination unknown.

But, our adventures have only just begun...
