Chapter 19 - Adventures In Time And Space - Part 2
20:49, 5 May 2013Chapter 19 – Adventures In Time And Space – Part 2
“Madison? Wake up, love.” A voice called out.
After Mickey took me inside and I dried me up, I soon fell asleep on the sofa. I had obviously slept all night, as it was now light outside. I looked up to see Martha sat on the sofa next to me.
“Hey, sleepy head.” She smiled.
“Hey. Good to see you.” I replied, sitting up on the sofa.
“You too. Haven't seen you in months.”
“How many months?” I asked.
“Lost count in the end. But it's now July, and it's been a while. Yet, you're still pregnant.” She stated, pointing to my baby bump.
“Oh yeah. It's only been two weeks since I saw you.”
“Well, somethings wrong then. Because even before The Doctor, you never visited this often. Plus you arrived late at night, with a suitcase which is quite full. And, The Doctor isn't anywhere to be seen. What's happened?” Martha inquired.
“I walked out. He shouted at me, we didn't speak or see each other for two weeks. I saw him nearly getting it on with Queen slut by the TARDIS. We had another argument, I said we needed a break, and here I am now.” I explained.
“Woah. Busy two weeks.”
“Indeed.” I sighed.
“I'm sorry, Maddy. It'll all be fine in the end.”
“I hope. Anyway, how's life for you?”
"Yeah, pretty good. Managed to get back working as a Doctor in a hospital. Mickey's just... Mickey. He's quite excited really. Considering we still have six months to wait...” She trailed off.
“Wait, what? Are you...”
“Three months gone yesterday.” She smiled, placing a hand over her stomach.
“Oh my god... You're pregnant? Seriously?”
“Yes, seriously! I'm having a baby with Mickey!”
“YAY! You know what this means? Pregnancy buddies! Ekkkk!” I cheered, getting up from the sofa.
“I know! Ahhh! I'm so excited! This is going to be amazing!” She squealed, pulling me into a hug.
“I can't believe it! I mean I knew this would happen, but I still! Ahhh.... MarthaWhat's that?”
“What's what?” She asked, looking over her shoulder to see what I was looking at.
“That black box thing. It wasn't here before, yeah I know I haven't popped round in a while, but there is a few of them in here. What are they?”
“Oh them? They've been with us for over ten months now. They're the slow invasion of the small cubes.”
~*~One Week Later~*~
“No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! What are you doing?!Oh get off my TV!” I yelled changing the channel.
“Excuse me?” Martha called out, walking past the door of my room.
“Sorry. Get off Martha's TV.” I smiled sheepishly.
“Thank you. When are you intending to do anything? You've been in this house for over a week now and all you've done is sit in bed, watch TV and eat all out food.” Martha sighed.
“What am I suppose to do? I'm eight months pregnant, can hardly move without help, and I've walked out on my fiancée who hasn't bothered to phone or find me. I can't exactly go get a job.” I scoffed, changing the channel to the news.
“I know that, and I hate to ask this, but have you not got any money on you? Think of it as rent. Please, Madison.... Maddy? Maddy are you listening?”
“Martha, look at the TV.” I stated, staring intently at the screen.
“A World wide attack has been enforced. People are rushing to hospital all around with symptoms of a Cardiac Arrest. They are all saying the black cubes caused it. The government has issued a nation wide plea for anyone to remove the cubes from their homes, work places and to get to a safe place.”
The news reporter said, before the channel shut off.
“Oh my god.” I breathed, running a hand through my hair.
“I can't believe this is happening.” Martha sighed.
“I can. Martha? Is your phone ringing and where's Mickey?”
“He's out on a job and yes it is. Hello?.... Yeah, it is..... Okay, sure.... Alright, I'll be there soon. Bye.” Martha replied, as she answered the phone.
“The hospital?” I asked, getting out of bed.
“Yeah, they need me in quickly. Sorry, Maddy, I've got to go now. I'll be back later. Try not to go near the cubes and stay safe.” Martha rushed, sprinting out the room.
“Hey, wait up! I'm coming with you!” I yelled, rushing after her.
“What? No, you can't. You're all pregnanty.”
"So are you. Martha, I can help. Please.” I replied, grabbing my coat.
“Fine. But if you get lost, it's your own fault.” Martha sighed, walking out the door.
“Pfft, please. I won't get lost.” I scoffed, following after her.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Yeah, I'm lost.
Martha had run off into the hospital, and after attempting to run after her, I has lost her in the crowd. I was no aimlessly spinning on the spot in a corridor, not knowing anybody. Suddenly, two people burst round the corner, as one of them fell to the floor clutching his chest.
Oh god... The Doctor and Amy.
“Ah. It's all right, it's all right. I can't, Amy. I can't do it. I need both hearts!” The Doctor exclaimed.
“What am I suppose to do?” Amy cried, crouching down next to him.
I rolled my eyes, before making my way over to them. I grabbed a portable defibrillator from besides The Doctor, before crouching down next to him. He had his eyes closed from the pain, so he didn't see me. But Amy did.
“Oh Jesus.” Amy muttered, looking shocked to see me.
“Excuse me, Sir, you seem to be having heart problems and I'm here to help. Don't worry, I'm a trained Doctor. Sort of. Anyway, this will hurt quite a lot. But you know, do bare with the defibrillator.” I announced, ripping open his shirt.
“What?! No, no! Don't do it, it won't work on me!” The Doctor cried, trying to swat me away.
“Sure thing, dear. CLEAR!” I yelled, before pressing the machine to his chest.
“Whoo! Ooo. Ooo! Welcome back, lefty! Whoa-ho! Two hearts! Woo! Back in the game. Ah. Never do that to me again....... Madison..” The Doctor exclaimed, jumping from the ground and finally noticing it's me.
“Hello stranger.” I smiled, getting up from the floor.
“What... What are you doing here?”
“Look, no offense, Doctor, but the world is kinda dying at the moment, so could we save this or later?” I asked, sounding harsher than intended.
“Yeah, sorry.” He muttered, as a ding from a goods lift went off.
“Ah, portal to another dimension in a goods lift?” Amy asked.
The energy signals converge here. Does seem a bit cramped, though. Now, Madison, I know you still hate me right now but could you do me a huge favor?” The Doctor rambled, turning to me.
“Stay here and don't get in trouble?” I guessed, rolling my eyes.
“Bingo. Got it in one! Are you going to do it? I very much doubt it.”
“Actually, I'm staying. Martha and the hospital need my help, so I'd be of better use here. It's not like you're going to need me.” I smiled awkwardly, half joking.
“Hey, I always need you. Don't ever think I don't. But I'd rather you be safe down here. I love you.” He replied, placing a hand on my cheek.
“Love you too. I missed you.” I muttered, pulling him into a warming embrace.
“I missed you too.”
“Hate to break it to you, guys, but the worlds in danger. Could we save this for later? Madison, nice to see you again! It's been a while. If we don't all die, be at ours for tea later please. We have a lot to discuss.” Amy interrupted.
“I'd like that. Cheers, Amy. See you 'round.” I smiled, placing a quick kiss to the Doctor's lips.
"See ya, Mads!” He called, as I 'ran' off.
“Don't call me that!”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Me, The Doctor, Amy, Rory and Brian were all sat around the table in the Pond's house, eating Chinese food. The Doctor and the couple had managed to save the world again, all while I was attempting to help Martha out. After it all finished, I said my goodbyes to Martha and promised to visit again soon, before heading off to the Pond's house.
“Dear me. I'd better get going. Things to do, worlds to save, swings to swing on. Look, I know, you both have lives here. Beautiful, messy lives. That is what makes you so fabulously human. You don't want to give them up. I understand.” The Doctor announced dropping his chop sticks to the table and standing up.
"Actually, it's you they can't give up, Doctor. And I don't think they should. Go with him. Go save every world you can find. Who else has that chance? Life will still be here.” Brian smiled, as Amy and Rory walked over to The Doctor.
“You could come, Brian.” The Doctor suggested, as I finished off my food.
“Somebody's got to water the plants. Just bring them back safe.” Brian smiled.
“Will do. You want to come along with us, or...” The Doctor trailed off, looking at me to the TARDIS.
“Depends. Do you actually want me...”
“Yes.” He interrupted, rather quickly.
“Oh good. Yeah, I'll tag along then.. Living with Martha and Mickey was getting a bit boring, to be honest. But, you know, it's not like I've got many people who want me...”
“We want you. We need you. I need you. Please?” The Doctor mumbled.
“I'd love too, then. I'll be inside, in a sec.” I smiled, as they made their way into the TARDIS. “See you later then Brian. Have a good life. Hope to see you soon.”
"Look after yourself out there. And the baby! Come visit me once in a while, I'd love to see the baby once it's born.”
“Sure thing. Goodbye, Brian.”
“Goodbye, Madison.” He replied, as I walked into the TARDIS.
“Welcome home, Miss Brown!” The Doctor cheered, as I walked inside.
"Good to be home! Missed this place.” I replied, walking up to the trio at the console.
"Well, you have been gone a few months!” Amy laughed, as she lent into Rory.
“What? I've only been gone two weeks.”
“Ah, yeah.. About that...” The Doctor stated, rubbing his neck.
“We'll just leave you two, too it then....” Rory muttered, pushing Amy out the room with him.
“A few months..” I muttered, furrowing my eyebrows.
“Not exactly. Well, just a couple of months...”
“How long has it been seen you last saw me?”
“Just over three month. I'm really sorry, Maddy. I was meaning to come earlier but the adventures took over and I lost track of time. Plus, I didn't think you wanted me around.” He rambled, walking over to place a hand on my arm.
“I hated living without you. The baby was unsettled and you were off having on adventures. I don't... I don't know what to say..” I stuttered, as my eyes began to fill with tears.
“If it makes it any better, Amy and Rory haven't seen you in over 10 months.”
“No, that doesn't make it any better!” I yelled, trying to be serious.
We both stood staring deeply at one another, his eyes sending apologies and mine giving anger. Then, we both started laughing. We giggled for a while at our stupidity, as we went and sat down on the seats. The Doctor placed his hand around my shoulders, as I lent into him.
“Oh dear.. Look at us. Bickering like an old married couple.” The Doctor sighed, fiddling with the ends of my hair.
“We're not even married yet. I missed you. A lot.”
“Same. I missed you both. Love you, mental Maddy!” He laughed, referring to my old nickname.
“Love you too, spacey dude!” I giggled.
"Hmm... Maddy, do you want to be?” He suddenly asked.
“Sorry, what?” I asked in confusion.
“You said about us not being married yet. Do you still want to be?”
"Of course I do. Do you?”
“Hell yeah! Should we set a date? Could make it for after the baby's born...”
“Lets get married now!” I interrupted, sitting up straight.
“What, seriously?”
“Yes! We'll just get the TARDIS to take us somewhere, find an outfit in the wardrobe, get Amy and Rory to be witnesses. Ooo, and Martha and Mickey!” I cheered, getting up from the seat.
“Are you sure? Do you not want some big wedding in which you can show off? I thought that's what all girls wanted.”
“I'm not all girls! Nope, I want marriage. Gimmie.” I laughed, pulling him over to the console.
"Ahaha, your wish is my command! Go to the doors, I'll fly us to Martha and Mickey's house. You grab them, and I'll get Amy and Rory! We're actually doing this, then?”
“Yeah, we are. I love you so much.” I smiled, pressing my lips to his.
"I love you so much too. Now go, we've landed.” He replied, pulling away and running off into the TARDIS.
I walked over to the doors and flung them open to reveal I was outside Martha and Mickey's house. I quickly made my way up to the door, and hammered my hand against the door a few time, before it finally flew open.
"Maddy?.. Oh my god... hi!” Mickey breathed, looking on at me in shock.
“Hello! Look, no time for questions, but one, how long since you last saw me and two, is Martha home?” I rushed.
“It's only been three days and yes she is. Did you want to come in?”
“No time. MARTHA! GET HERE NOW!” I yelled, popping my head round the door.
“What?! Where's the fire?... Oh hey, Madison. You here for your stuff?” Martha shouted, running to the door.
"Nope. I need you both now. Come along.” I smiled, dragging them both from their house.
“Maddy, what's going on?” Martha demanded, as I pulled her inside the TARDIS.
“WEDDINGS! Me and The Doctor have finally decided to get hitched. But we want you there and we're getting married in about... 2 hours, so yeah, I need Martha!” I rushed.
“In two hours? Oh my god, you hardly gave me time! We need to go dress shopping, get flowers, invites, everything!”
“No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! That's where you're wrong! The TARDIS is doing all that. Mickey, you wait here for The Doctor and Rory to come back, Martha we need to go to the wardrobe! Ohhh... We need Amy too!” I yelled in excitement, as we leapt up the stairs.
"Bye then!” Mickey called out, as we disappeared off into the TARDIS.
"AMY! AMY! AMY, WHERE ARE YOU?” I screamed, still dragging Martha along.
"I'm here, I'm here! What's the rush? Oh.. hey, Martha.” Amy smiled, popping out from a room beside us.
“Hello, Amy...”
“Shhh, no time for talking! We have plans!” I rushed, pulling Amy along too.
“Plans for what?” Amy asked.
“God, did The Doctor not find you? My, my, he is getting slow! The plans for our wedding! We've decided to get married in a few hours and you two are my bridesmaids. Sorry, if you didn't want to be. Ohhh, we're here! Good old TARDIS wardrobe!” I ranted, pushing them both inside the room.
“This is going to take a while...”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Madison! Sit down!” Martha instructed.
“I can't, I'm too nervous!” I sighed, still pacing the room.
It had been early three hours since I had dragged Amy and Martha into the wardrobe and I was now ready. I had a quick shower, then we picked out the dresses for the three of us. I had a strapless white dress, which puffed out at the waist. Luckily, the TARDIS had it ready and it fitted over my large baby bump. Amy and Martha had light pink, one strapped dresses, along with matching flowers and shoes. We all have our hair lightly curled and our make-up done perfectly.
To be honest, we looked hot.
“Don't be nervous. You look great, we look great. I expect the TARDIS and The Doctor have planned something great! Don't worry about it. Just sit down, it's not good for the baby.” Amy explained, forcing me to sit down.
“EURGH! What is taking them so long! I can give birth quicker than this!” I cried, flinging my arms up.
“I'm sure Mickey and Rory will be along soon.” Martha smiled, as the door was pushed open.
“Speak of the devils.” Amy laughed, nudging my shoulder.
“Woah. You look beautiful.” Rory breathed, walking over to hug Amy.
“Couldn't have put it any better. You look amazing, love.” Mickey smiled kissing Martha.
"Excuse me? Pregnant and worried bride-to-be over here!” I yelled, trying to get some attention.
“Sorry, Maddy. Wow, you look... just ..... Wow..” Rory laughed, quickly hugging me.
“You look great, Madison. You've never looked better.” Mickey agreed, also hugging me.
“Yeah, great, whatever. Can we go now?” I sighed, rolling my eyes.
“All in good time. Now, the plan. The TARDIS has decided to get a you a church wedding on Earth, as she knows how much you love the planet. The Doctor is inside, talking to the vicar at the moment. Because I've known you a bit longer, I'm going to give you away if that's okay, and Rory will be The Doctor's best man.” Mickey explained, as everyone nodded along.
“Yeah, that's brilliant. Thank you!” I cried, flinging my arms around him. “Umm, could you two give us a moment? I'd like a quick word with Amy and Rory, if that's okay.”
“Sure thing, we'll be in the console room.” Martha smiled, as they linked arms and walked out.
“So, hey... Umm, are you two going to find this awkward. Because if you two don't want to come along, you don't have too...” I stated, trying to keep it light.
“Why would it be awkward?” Rory asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
“Because I'm marrying The Doctor... Who was married to River, your daughter.” I muttered, looking to the ground.
“Oh, Madison. You worry to much.” Amy laughed lifting up my head.
“Do I though? I'm the reason River isn't with The Doctor anymore. I caused the breakdown of your daughter's marriage.
“Hey, don't worry about it. Yeah, they spilt up because you two got together, but she was the one who divorced him. She also shot you. She didn't try to make her marriage work after you were gone. Don't worry about it. I for one am glad you're with The Doctor.” Amy explained, pulling me into a hug.
“I'm glad too. He's so happy when he's around you, as the other way round. He's also going to be a great dad. We wish you all the best.” Rory smiled, hugging me after.
“Thanks guys. You're to good to me.” I laughed, as we left the room.
“Eh, we're too good to most people. It's one of our charms!” Amy joked, as we made our way to the top steps of the console room.
“WAIT!” Martha suddenly yelled, as she jumped out from nowhere.
“AHHH! For fuck sake, Martha, what is wrong with you?” I shouted, clutching my chest and baby bump with my hands.
“Sorry, didn't mean to scare you so much. Anyway, it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride and The Doctor is still in the console room!” Martha smiled, trying not to laugh.
“Well tell him to get out and hurry up! I'm bored of waiting! Rory, get your arse out the TARDIS with The Doctor!” I instructed, pushing Rory towards the stairs.
"Sure thing. See you in a bit, love.” Rory muttered, pressing a kiss to Amy cheek before running down the steps.
“Maddy? You up there?” The Doctor called out, as I hid behind a wall.
“Yes, I am! Get out the TARDIS! I want to get married!” I yelled, rolling my eyes.
"I know, I know! I just wanted to say.... I love you and our baby. This day is going to be perfect no matter how we all look or what happens. It's going to be the best day in my life. I love you so much.”
“Oh god.” I said, placing a hand over my mouth.
"What? What is it? Was it what I said? Are you alright?” The Doctor rushed jumping up the steps and standing on the other side of the wall to me.
“It was exactly what you said! I'm crying, I'm going to ruin my make-up!” I cried, trying not to wipe my eyes.
“Oh god, Maddy. I thought it was important.” He sighed, leaning against the wall.
“Hey, it's important to me! I don't want to ruin my make-up, I want to look perfect.”
“You always look perfect.”
“Awwww! You are perfect. Never forget that. Everything about you and what you do is just amazing and the Universe would never be the same without you. I love you more than anything.” I replied, holding my hand out around the wall.
“You are too brilliant. I'll see you out there.” He laughed, kissing my hand before running off. “Right, lets get this show on the road.”
"Okay... that was just beautiful. You two are just too cute.” Martha smiled, patting my arm.
“And.... he's gone... You can come out now, Maddy. Ready to get going?” Mickey asked, as The Doctor and Rory ran from the TARDIS.
“Yeah, think I'm good. Is my make-up ruined?” I asked.
“Madison, you look perfect. Now, me and Martha will walk in front and you'll follow in with Mickey. Ready?” Amy explained, linking arms with Martha as they stood in front of the doors.
“Yeah, I'm ready. Blimey me, never thought this day would happen.” I chuckled, linking arms with Mickey.
“Well, you look amazing and I hope today is everything you hope for.” Mickey replied, quickly kissing the top of my head.
The doors suddenly burst open, to reveal we were parked at the end of a church aisle. 'Here comes the bride' was played through an organ, as Amy and Martha made their way down the aisle first. Once they reached the end, me and Mickey stepped out the TARDIS and made our way to The Doctor.
“Hey.” I whispered, looking at him dressed in his white suit.
“Hello, you. You've never looked so beautiful. I love you.” He replied, placing a hand into mine and the other over my baby bump.
"I love you too.” I smiled, quickly kissing him before turning to the vicar.
“Dearly beloved. We are gathered here today to celebrate the love and commitment of Madison Lauren Kristin Brown and The Doctor, and their decision to get married.....”
~*~1 Month Later ~*~
“New York growled at my window, but I was ready for it. My stocking seams were straight, my lipstick was combat ready, and I was packing cleavage that could fell an ox at twenty feet.” The Doctor read aloud from the book he was reading.
Me, The Doctor, Amy and Rory were all currently sat against a rock in Manhattan, America. Me and The Doctor had been married a month now and I was officially 9 months pregnant. Only one month to go! WOO!
“Doctor, you're doing it again.” Amy sighed, rolling her eyes.
“I'm reading!” He defended.
“Aloud. Please could you not?”
“There's something different about you, isn't there?” The Doctor asked, turning to face Amy.
“What's the book?” Rory inquired, looking up at us all on the rock.
“Melody Malone. She's a private detective in old town New York.” I answered, fiddling with my wedding ring.
“She's got ice in her heart and a kiss on her lips, and a vulnerable side she keeps well hidden.”
“Oh, you've read it?”
“You read it. Aloud. And then went yowzah!” Amy exclaimed, rolling her eyes again.
“Only you could fancy someone in a book.” Rory sighed.
“Yeah, only him. And everyone on Tumblr and anyone who had ever read a book.” I mumbled under my breath.
“I'm just reading it. I just like the cover.” The Doctor tried.
“Ooo, can we see the cover?” Amy asked, laughing.
“No, no, I'm busy. It's your hair! Is it your hair?” The Doctor asked, change the subject.
“Oh, shut up. It's the glasses. I'm wearing reading glasses now, on my nose, see? There you go.”
“I don't like them. They make your eyes look all liney. No, actually, sorry. They're fine. Carry on.” The Doctor smiled.
“Okay, I'm going to go and get us some more coffee. Who wants more coffee? Me too. I'll go!” Rory piped up, getting up from the ground and going to walk away.
“Rory, do I have noticeable lines on my eyes now?” Amy asked.
“Yes.” The Doctor answered.
“No.” Rory said, at the same time.
“You didn't look.”
“I noticed them earlier. Didn't notice them. I specifically remember not noticing them.”
“You walk among fire pits, Centurion.” Amy stated, causing me to giggle.
“Do I have to come over there?” Rory asked.
“You can if you like.”
“Well, we have company.” Rory pointed out, nodding to me and The Doctor.
“I'll get a babysitter.” Amy joked, as they kissed.
“Oh, do you know, it is so humiliating when you do that.” The Doctor grimaced.
“Oh please, you and Maddy snog all the time around us!” Amy exclaimed.
“It is true, dear.” I sighed, patting his arm lightly.
“Coffee?” Rory inquired.
“Coffee.” Amy replied, as Rory walked away.
“More chocolate cake for me, please, Rory!” I called out.
“Two slices again, or just the one this time?” He yelled back.
“The whole thing please!” I smiled, earning looks from the trio “What? I'm pregnant! Bring me cake, time traveling nurse!”
“Fine! I'll be back soon!” He sighed, before walking off into the distance.
“Can I have a go?” The Doctor asked, pulling on Amy's glasses. “Oh, actually, that is much better. That is exciting.”
“Read to me.”
“I thought you didn't like his reading aloud?” I smirked, earning a nudge from Amy.
“Shut up, and read me a story. Just don't go yowzah.” Amy sighed, as The Doctor started laughing, ripping the last page of the book out. “Why did you do that?”
“I always rip out the last page of a book. Then it doesn't have to end.” The Doctor replied.
“We hate endings.” I carried on, as he placed the page inside the picnic basket.
“As I crossed the street, I saw the thin guy, but he didn't see me. I guess that's how it began.” The Doctor read aloud, from the book. “I followed the skinny guy for two more blocks before he turned and I could ask exactly what he was doing here. He looked a little scared, so I gave him my best smile and my bluest eyes.”
“Beware the yowzah. Do not, at this point, yowz. Doctor? What did the skinny guy say?” Amy asked, now throwing sticks over the bridge with me.
“He said, 'I just went to get coffees for the Doctor and Amy. Hello, River.'” The Doctor whispered.
“Oh no...” I muttered, shaking my head.
The Doctor grabbed my hand, and started pulling me through the people as fast as he could. Amy struggled to keep up with us, as we made our way back to the TARDIS. The Doctor shoved the doors open and pushed me inside, without sparing me a glance or saying a word to me.
“What's River doing in a book? What's Rory doing in a book?” Amy asked, following The Doctor to the console.
“He went to get coffee. Pay attention.” The Doctor replied, running round the console.
“He went to get coffee and turned up in a book. How does that work?”
“I don't know. We're in New York!” He exclaimed, as I sat down on one of the seats.
“Where did you get this book?” Amy inquired.
“It was in my jacket.”
“How did it get there?”
“How does anything get there. I've given up asking. Date, date. Does she mention a date? When is this happening?” He rushed, pointing to the book Amy was holding.
“Yes, hang on. Oh, April 3rd, 1938.” Amy replied, flicking through the book.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“You didn't come here in the TARDIS, obviously.”
“Why?”
“He couldn't have.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Couldn't have? What does she mean? Couldn't have?” The Doctor rambled, running round the console more.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“This city's full of time distortions. It'd be impossible to land the TARDIS here. Like trying to land a plane in a blizzard. Even I couldn't do it.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Even who couldn't do it?” The Doctor yelled.
“Don't you two fall out, she's only in a book.” Amy sighed, clutching the side of the console.
“1938. Easy one.” He smiled.
Suddenly, bangs, sparks and warning signals all gave off the TARDIS console at once. I clutched the side of the chair with all my strength, to stop me from falling off, as the others clung to the console.
“What was that?” I asked, walking over to the main console once we stopped shaking around.
“1938. We just bounced off it.” He replied, breathlessly.
The Doctor quickly landed back on Earth, back in Manhattan. He grabbed a fire extinguisher, before ushering me and Amy out the TARDIS. He as currently trying to put the fire from within out.
“The Weeping Angels?” Amy asked.
“It makes sense.” I replied, leaning against the TARDIS side wall.
“It makes what?”
“That's what happened to Rory. That's what the Angels do. It's their preferred form of attack. They zap you back in time, let you live to death.” The Doctor explained.
“Well, we've got a time machine. We can just go and get him.” Amy tried, desperate to get her husband back.
“Well, tried that, if you've noticed, and we are back where we started in 2012.” I sighed, pointing to the view around us.
“We didn't start in a graveyard. What are we doing here?”
“Don't know. Probably causally linked somehow. Doesn't matter. Extractor fans on!” The Doctor yelled into the TARDIS, causing the smoke to be pulled away.
“Well, we're going to get there somehow. We're in the rest of the book.” Amy pointed out.
“Doing what?” I asked, leaning over her shoulder to look.
“Page 43, The Doctors going to break something.”
“I'm what?”
“'Why do you have to break mine', I asked the Doctor. He frowned and said, 'Because Amy read it in a book and now I have no choice.'” Amy read aloud.
“Stop! No! No! Stop! You can't read ahead. You mustn't. And you can't do that.” The Doctor shouted, lunging forward to grab the book.
“But we've already been reading it.” Amy exclaimed.
“Just the stuff that's happening now, in parallel with us. That's as far as we go.” I said, smiling weekly.
“But it could help us find Rory.”
“And if you read ahead and find that Rory dies? This isn't any old future, Amy, it's ours. Once we know what's coming, it's fixed. Now, I'm going to break something, because you told me that I'm going to do it. No choice now.” He explained
"Time can be rewritten.”
"Not once you've read it. Once we know what's coming, it's written in stone.” I sighed, walking back inside the TARDIS.

“Ah. Early Qin dynasty, I'd say.”
“Correct. Are you an archaeologist as well as a detective?”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
"Okay, landing a plane in a timey wimey blizzard. I could push through, but if I'm out by a nanosecond, the engines will phase and I'll shatter the planet. I need landing lights.” The Doctor rambled, running back to the console.
“Landing lights?” Amy asked, coming to stand next to me.
“Yes, he needs a signal to lock on to. What did she say? Early what dynasty?” I asked, grabbing the book from Amy's hands.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Early Qin, just as you say. You're very well informed.”
“And you're very afraid. That's an awful lot of locks for one door.”
“River, I'm translating.”
Chinese characters resolve themselves into English for Rory.
“It's a gift of the Tardis. It hangs around.”
“This one. Put him somewhere uncomfortable.”
“With the babies, sir?”
“Yes, why not? Give him to the babies.”

Grayle's cellar
The hoodlum throws Rory down the stairs.
“The lights are out. You'll last longer with these.”
He throws down a box of matches.
“What do you care?”
“It's funnier.”
Childish giggling.
“Hello?”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
China 221 BC
“Ah, hello, yes.” The Doctor smiled, flashing his psychic paper to the people. “Special commission from the Emperor.“

Grayle's study
As Grayle helps River off with her mackintosh, she spots the word Yowzah on one of the vases.
“Hello, sweetie. Let's see, crime boss with a collecting fetish. Whatever you don't let anyone else see has got to be your favourite. Or possibly your girlfriend.”
River pulls the curtains to reveal a snarling Angel with manacles and chains on it.
“So, girlfriend, then.”
River starts tapping on her Vortex manipulator keypad.
“What are you doing?”
“Oh, you know, texting a boy.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Landing lights. We have a signal. Locking on.” The Doctor yelled, as the word 'Yowzah' appeared on the scanner screen.

“These things are all over, but people don't seem to notice. It never moves while you're looking.”
“Oh, I know how they work.”
“So I understand. Melody Malone, the detective who investigates Angels.”
“Badly damaged.”
“I wanted to know if it could feel pain.”
“You realise it's screaming? The others can hear. Is that why you need all the locks?”
Grayle turns out the lights briefly, and the Angel grabs River's wrist.
“You're going to tell me all about these creatures. And you're going to do it quickly.”
Out go the lights again.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Grayle's cellar
Rory lights a match. There is the sound of childish laughter and small feet running.
“Hello, is someone there?”
There are little cherubs closing in each time a match burns out.
"Come on, come on.”
Then one is close enough to blow the match out.

“The Angels are predators. They're deadly. What do you want with them?”
“I'm a collector. What collector could resist these? I'm only human.”
“That's exactly what they're thinking.”
Then all the lights go out.
“What's that? What's happening? Is it an earthquake?”
The wheezing sound of a struggling Type 40 can be heard, and papers start blowing around.
“What is it?”
“Oh, you bad boy. You could burn New York.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means, Mister Grayle, just you wait till my Ex- husband gets home.
The Tardis lands with a thud, knocking down Grayle and breaking the Chinese vase.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Come on!” Amy yelled, running to the doors.
“Just a moment. Final checks.” The Doctor mumbled, waving away Amy with his hand.
“Since when?” Amy asked, before running out the TARDIS.
“Are you alright? You've been rather quiet.” He asked, walking over to me where I was sat on the steps.
“Yeah, fine.” I lied, sending him a quick smile before looking away.
“I know when you're lying to me, Maddy. What's wrong?”
“Nothings wrong.”
“Madison.” He warned, sending me a stern look.
“River was in that book, Doctor. She's going to be out there, isn't she.” I whispered.
“Yeah, she should be. I'm sorry, Madison. I completely forgot about it all. What do you want to do?” He sighed, sitting beside me and placing an arm round my shoulders.
“Don't worry about me. Go out and save Rory. I'll wait in here, it's fine. I need a rest anyway.” I Smiled back.
“Okay. I'll be back soon. Love you.” He replied, quickly kissing me before running out the TARDIS.
“Yeah, love you too.” I sighed, walking over to the scanner and flicking it on to the external cameras.
“Rory? Rory? Rory?” Amy yelled, as she ran up the stairs.
“Sorry I'm late. Traffic was hell. Shock. He'll be fine.” The Doctor smiled, pointing to the man on the floor, before walking into another room.
“Damn it.” I cursed, as he walked out of view. Luckily, I could still hear everything and I was defiantly right about River being there.

“Not if I can get loose.” River answered.
“So where are we now, Doctor Song? How's prison?” He asked.
“Oh, I was pardoned ages ago. But I had to go back eventually for another murder. And it's Professor Song to you.” She smirked.
“Pardoned?”
”Mmm. Turns out the first person I killed never existed in the first place. Apparently, there's no record of him. It's almost as if someone's gone around deleting himself from every database in the universe.”
“You said I got too big.” He replied.
“And now no one's ever heard of you. Didn't you used to be somebody?” River joked.
“Weren't you the woman who killed the Doctor?”
“Doctor who?” River smirked.
“She's holding you very tight.” The Doctor pointed out.
“At least she didn't send me back in time.”
“I doubt she's strong enough.”
“Well, I need a hand back, so which is it going to be? Are you going to break my wrist or hers? Oh, no. Really? Why do you have to break mine?” River whined.
“Because Amy read it in a book, and now I have no choice.” The Doctor sighed, nodding to Amy who as now stood in the doorway. “You see?”
“What book?” River inquired.
“Your book. Which you haven't written yet, so we can't read.”
“I see. I don't like the cover much.”
“But if River's going to write that book, she'd make it useful, yeah?” Amy suggested.
“I'll certainly try. But we can't read ahead, it's too dangerous.” River smiled at her mother.
“I know, but there must be something we can look at.” Amy tried.
“What, a page of handy hints, previews, spoiler free?” The Doctor pointed out.
“Chapter titles!” Amy quickly exclaimed.
The Doctor scans the page of chapter titles - Chapter 9, Calling the Doctor, Chapter 10, The Roman in the Cellar, Chapter 11, Death at Winter Quay.
“He's in the cellar.”
“Gimme!” Amy yelled.
The Doctor throws the sonic screwdriver to Amy, nods at River and starts to leave.
“Doctor? Doctor, what is it? What's wrong? Tell me. Doctor? Doctor, what is it, tell me.” River asked.
Chapter 12 - Amelia's Last Farewell.
“Okay, I know that face. Calm down. Calm down! Talk to me. Doctor!” She demanded.
“No! Get your wrist out. You get your wrist out without breaking it!” The Doctor shouted.
“How?”
“I don't know. Just do it. Change the future! Why should I bother helping you? You ruined my life.” He snapped, before storming out the room.

“Rory?” Amy called out.
“No! They're Angels. Baby Angels.” The Doctor shouts, pulling Amy back.
“Did they get Rory? Where is he? Did they take him?” Amy asked, shaking in fear.
“Yes, I think so, yes.”
They run back up the stairs. Rory is near Winter Quay.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Grayle's entrance hall
“So, is this what's going to happen? We just keep chasing him and they keep pulling him further back?” Amy asked.
“He isn't back in time. I'm reading a displacement, but there are no temporal markers. He's been moved in space, not in time, and it's not that far from here by the look of it.” River explained, walking into the room.
“You got out.” The Doctor gasped, staring at her intently.
“So, where is he?” Amy inquired.
“Well, come on, come on, come on, where is he?” The Doctor rushed.
“If it was that easy, I'd get you to do it.” River smirked, looking back to her machine.
“How did you get your wrist out without breaking it?”
“You asked, I did. Problem?” River replied.
"You just changed the future.” He smiled, looking impressed.
“It's called we use to be married, honey. Now, hush, I'm working. Speaking of marriage, I've been thinking about us.” River stated.
“She's good. Wait what did you say?”
"Well, you know. I broke it off with you because you were still mourning over that girlfriend you had. She's gone now and it's been a while... We could try again.” River explained, giving him a small smile.
“Could we just focus on finding Rory for now?” Amy piped up, before The Doctor could talk.
“Sure thing. Ah, wherever it is, it's within a few blocks. There's a car out front. Shall we steal it?”
“Show me!” The Doctor exclaimed, jumping over to River.
As The Doctor reached her, he went to push his hand out and pull her along, but she reeled back and gasped in pain. The Doctor looked at her in shock, in realization that she had lied about her hand.
I watched in shock and jealousy as The Doctor looked over her hand, worriedly and sympathetically, only to see it was broken. He led her over to the steps and sat her down beside her, still looking worried.
Just as they did, sparks suddenly flew from the TARDIS console, causing me to fall back onto the TARDIS. Fire and more sparks quickly lit, as I screamed and covered my baby bump and head. I yelled in terror and I jumped up and ran to the doors. But just as I did, everything stopped. I sighed in relief and tried to walk back, only for the same thing to happen again.
“You want me to go out there, huh? Do you want to start a fight between us?" I asked, stomping my foot in anger.
The TARDIS let out a large noise, which resemble a groaning as a few more sparks flew off.
“Look, I don't like that she's here anymore than you do. I know she wants to get back with The Doctor, but I trust him not to do anything stupid. He's doesn't need me out there to fight for him. I do not want to go out there. End of story.” I snapped, folding my arms across my chest.
Suddenly the TARDIS doors flew open, and the TARDIS lurched to the side, causing me to stumble out. I clutched hold of the banister on the stairs to stop me falling, as the doors snapped shut again.
“Madison! Are you alright? What happened?” The Doctor yelled, rushing to my side.
“The bloody TARDIS, that's what happened! She had a strop and threw me out! Apparently you need me to fight for you against.....River.” I stated, as I noticed River had stood up and was now staring at me in shock.
“Oh god. I seem to have a guilty conscience. I'm seeing ghosts.” River laughed nervously, as The Doctor and Amy look away.
"I'm not a ghost, River.” I whispered.
“You have to be. You died. I killed you.” River snapped.
“Yeah, we know you did, River. But U.N.I.T. got involved with Maddy after she died and managed to bring her back to life. She was living in Earth's Parallel World for a past few months, and we got her back about 9 months back.” The Doctor explained gently, walking over to River.
"You were alive all this time. I've been in Storm Cage for nothing!” River suddenly yelled.
“We didn't know you were back in for that. We can get you out if you want.” I suggested, quietly.
"So, been back for nine months, have we? Well, it shows I suppose. You clearly didn't waste any time!” She exclaimed, pointing to my baby bump.
“It's not properly mine.” The Doctor mumbled, causing me to look down in guilt.
“Oh, the little slut has been sleeping with other people's men again has she?”
“River! Don't speak to her like that!” Amy cried, coming to place a am around my shoulders.
“Did you know about this? Well, did you, Mum? Did Dad as well?” River demanded.
“Yeah, we did. It wasn't really something we could just say. You killed her, River, and she was brought back to life. I didn't think you'd want to know.” Amy explained.
"Well thank you very much for being there for me.” River smiled sarcastically, as Amy looked away from her.
“Don't blame this on Amy. It wasn't her fault.” I yelled, feeling the need to stick up for her.
“No, it's yours. All of this is your fault! I shot you, Maddy! Why couldn't you just say dead? You had to come back and ruin everything! Are you two back together then? Seeing as it's not your child, Doctor, have you really gone back to the little get-around?” River screamed, throwing her non-broken hand in the air.
“Yes, I have. And she not a get-around. So don't you dare ever SPEAK TO MY WIFE THAT WAY AGAIN!” The Doctor roared, causing River to freeze.
“Wife? WIFE!”
“Yeah, wife. We're married, River. You gave up The Doctor, so don't blame me for this!” I shouted, storming over to the woman.
“I will blame you for this, forever. I will never forgive you for ruining my life and marriage.” She spat, walking over to sit on the steps.
“Good. Because I will never forgive you for killing me and ruining The Doctor's life.” I snapped back, storming off outside the building.
Well... That went better than expected.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Okay, when all those numbers on both units go to zero, that's when we've got a lock, okay? It's how we find Rory.” The Doctor explained.
“Got it.” Amy smiled back.
“Why did you lie to me about your wrist.” The Doctor demanded.
“When one's still in love with an ageless god who insists on the face of a twelve year old, one does one's best to hide the damage.” River sighed.
"It must hurt. Come here.”
“Yes. The wrist is pretty bad too.”
The Doctor transfers golden energy to River's hand.
“No. No. No, stop that. Stop that. Stop it!” River exclaimed, trying to pull her hand back.
“There you go. How's that?” The Doctor smiled, letting go of her hand.
“Well, let's see, shall we?”
She slaps his face.
“That was a stupid waste of regeneration energy. Nothing is gained by you trying to make up for the fact you cheated on me and you feeling guilty about me being in Storm Cage when I didn't need to be.” River snapped.
“River!” The Doctor cried, holding his face.
“No, you disgust me.” River spat, before walking away and out the building.
“River! I was just trying to help!” The Doctor yells after her, before slumping down in defeat.
“Tell you what. Stick to looking after Madison.” Amy snapped, handing the stuff to The Doctor, before storming after her daughter.

Outside Grayle's home
I sat with my head resting on my fists, as I sat on the outside steps that led up to the house. I watching around to see if any Weeping Angels were around, but so far I could see none. Suddenly the front door slammed open and River stormed out, soon followed Amy.
“Okay, why did you lie?” Amy asked, following her to where they stopped down the road.
“Never let him see the damage. And never, ever let him see you age. He doesn't like endings.” River sighed, looking rather upset.
I must admit, I did feel some sort of sympathy for her. I did get with her husband behind her back, and then she ended up in prison again after she killed me, despite not having to be there again.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Beep!
“There you are.” The Doctor smiled.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Outside Grayle's home
“Got It!. He's at a place called Winter Quay. The car, yes? Let's go.” The Doctor yelled, as he ran out the building, grabbing my hand and pulling me with him.
We all ran across the road and pilled into the car we were taking. I sat next to The Doctor, while River sat opposite us, with Amy driving us. The journey was rather awkward as we sat in silence, while River glared at me and The Doctor.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Limousine
“Why would they send him here? Why not zap him back in time, like they normally do?” River asked no one in particular.
“We'll know that when we know what this place is.” The Doctor smiled, as River's glare softened.
“Winter Quay.” Amy pointed out, as we all got out the car and made our way to the building.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Winter Quay apartments
We quickly rushed into the building and made out way towards the lift. We all crammed inside and made our way up, before Amy pushed open the gate and charged down the corridor.
“Rory?” Amy called out.
“He's close.” River said, looking at her device.
The door to apartment 802 was flung open, and as Amy looked inside, she sighed a breath of relief as she was the sight of her husband.
“Rory!”
“Amy.” Rory sighed, pulling Amy into a loving embrace.
“Doctor, look at this. Why is it smiling?” River asked, pointing to the Weeping Angel that stood looking at us from the end of the corridor.
The Doctor looked up, only to see a nameplate with 'R Williams' by the door.
“Amy. Rory!”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Apartment 802
“Get out of here! Don't look at anything. Don't touch”The Doctor yelled, pulling at Amy's arm.
“Who's that?” Amy asked, pointing to an old man lead on a bed.
"Amy. Amy, please. Amy, please. Please.” The old man pleaded, reaching his hand out to Amy.
“Rory? He's you.”
“Amy.” The old Rory rasped, as he suddenly died.
“Will someone please tell me what is going on?” Rory asked, looking as confused as Amy.
“I'm sorry, Rory, but you just died.” The Doctor grimaced.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“This place is policed by Angels. Every time you try to escape, you get zapped back in time.” The Doctor sighed.
“So this place belongs to the Angels? They built it?” Amy inquired, looking round the room.
“Displacing someone back in time creates time energy, and that is what the Angels feed on. But normally, it's a one off, a hit and run. If they could keep hold of their victims, feed off their time energy over and over again. This place is a farm. A battery farm. How many Angels in New York?” I rambled, leaning against a wall.
“It's like they've taken over every statue in the city.” River pointed out, looking slightly nervous.
“The Angels take Manhattan because they can, because they've never had a food source like this one. The city that never sleeps.”
Large but slow and heavy footsteps can suddenly started pounding outside the window.
“What was that?”
“I don't know. But I think they're coming for you.” The Doctor whispered.
“What does that mean? What is going to happen to me? What is physically going to happen?” Rory inquired, looking to me and The Doctor for answers.
“The Angels will come for you. They'll zap you back in time to this very spot, thirty, forty years ago. And you'll live out the rest of your life in this room, until you die in that bed.” I explained, going to stand by The Doctor and leaning against his arm.
"And will Amy be there?”
“No.” I replied, looking away from the other couple.
“How do you know?” Amy asked.
“Because he was so pleased to see you again.” The Doctor answered for me.
“Okay. Well, they haven't taken me yet. What if I just run? What if I just get the hell out of here? Then that never happens.” Rory suggested.
“It's already happened. Rory, you've just witnessed your own future.” The Doctor sighed, pointing to the bed at the end of the room.
“Doctor, he's right.” River tried.
“No, he isn't.” The Doctor snapped back at her.
“If Rory got out, it would create a paradox.”
More slow and heavy footsteps could still be heard outside, and they were getting closer...
“What is that?” Amy asked, looking around the room.
“This is the Angels' food source. The paradox poisons the well. It could kill them all. This whole place would literally unhappen.” River explained, nodding her head eagerly.
“It would be almost impossible.”
“Loving the almost.” Me and River both laughed, causing us to look away in awkwardness.
“But to create a paradox like that takes almost unimaginable power. What have we got, eh? Tell me. Come on, what?” The Doctor demanded, moving away from me and leaning against a wall.
“I won't let them take him. That's what we've got.” Amy stated, pushing her hand into Rory's.
“Whatever that thing is, it's getting closer.” Rory pointed out, referring to the heavy footsteps.
“Rory, even if you got out, you'd have to keep running for the rest of your life. They would be chasing you for ever.” The Doctor explained.
“Well, then. Better get started.” Amy smiled, as she pulled open the apartment door only to reveal a Weeping Angel. “Husband, run!”
Amy and Rory ran past the Angels, and off down the corridor, until the found of their footsteps faded. But, just as they did, the light in the room started to flicker.
“Maddy, River, I'm not sure this can work.” The Doctor mumbled, walking back to us.
“Husband, shut up.” I laughed, grabbing his hand and pulling him to the door.
One of the Weeping Angels had blocked the doorway, while we turned away. The light flickered again and then, several Angels were in the room with us.

“Up!”
“What good's up?”
“Better than down!”

Apartment 802
We managed to push our way out of the room, but the three of us were soon blocked against a wall outside. The Doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver and sonicked the light bulb to stop if flickering.
"We can't keep doing this.” He pointed out.
“Any ideas?” I asked, still staring at the Angels.
“Yeah, the usual. Run!” He yelled, grabbing my hand, while I grabbed River's and pulling us along the corridor.
Me, The Doctor and River made it back to the stairs, only to find them blocked by the Angels.
“Okay! Fire escape.”
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Winter Quay roof
“I always wanted to visit the Statue Of Liberty. I guess she got impatient.” Rory joked nervously.
Rory runs to the opposite edge, behind Amy's back.
“What? What is it, what?” Amy asked.
“Just keep your eyes on that.”
“Is there a way down?” Amy inquired, sounding hopeful.
“Er, no. But there's a way out.” Rory sighed.
Rory climbs up onto the ledge.
“What are you doing? Rory, what are you doing?”
Amy turns around and goes to him.
"Rory, stop it. You'll die.” Amy stated in horror.
“Yeah, twice, in the same building on the same night. Who else could do that?”
“Just come down, please.” Amy begged.
“This is the right thing to do. This will work. If I die now, it's a paradox, right? The paradox kills the Angels. Tell me I'm wrong. Go on, please, because I'm really scared. Oh, great. The one time you can't manage it. Amy, I'm going to need a little help here.” Rory rambled.
Rory takes Amy's hand and puts it on his chest.
"Just stop it!” Amy yelled.
“Just think it through. This will work, this will kill the Angels.”
“It'll kill you too.” Amy pointed out.
“Will it? River said that this place would be erased from time, never existed. If this place never existed, what did I fall off?”
“You think you'll come back to life?” Amy inquired, eyes wide at her husband.
“When don't I?”
“Rory.” Amy tried.
“And anyway, what else is there? Dying of old age downstairs, never seeing you again? Amy, please. If you love me, then trust me, and push.” Rory whispered, letting go of his wife's hand and sticking his arms out.
“I can't.” Amy cried.
“You have to!”
“Could you? If it was me, could you do it?”
“To save you, I'd do anything.” Rory promised.
Amy gets up on the ledge next to Rory.
"Prove it.” Amy stated.
“No, I can't take you too.”
“You said we'd come back to life. Money where your mouth is time.” Amy smiled, putting her arms round Rory.
“Amy, look...”
“Shut up. Together, or not at all.” Amy snapped.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
We quickly clambered up the fire escape, finally finding ourselves on the roof. When I jumped up, I saw Amy and Rory stood on the roof edge.
"What the hell are you doing!” The Doctor shouted, running towards them.
“Changing the future. It's called marriage.” Amy replied.
Then, while gazing into each other eyes, Amy and Rory suddenly tipped to the side and fell of the side of Winter Quay.
”Amy! Amy!” The Doctor screamed, running to the edge.
"Rory!” I yelled, following after him.
Suddenly balls of energy started to gather and flicker around us on the roof.
“Doctor!” I shouted, pointing it all out.
“What's happening?” River asked, pulling us both away from the edge.
“The paradox. It's working! The paradox is working!” The Doctor cheered in delight.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Graveyard
“Where are we?” Rory asked, as he and Amy sat up.
“Back where we started. You collapsed the timeline. The paradox worked. We all pinged back where we belong.” I smiled, walking out the TARDIS.
“What, in a graveyard?”
“This happened the last time. Why always here?” Amy inquired, as they got off the ground.
“Does it matter? We got lucky. We could've blown New York off the planet. I can't ever take the Tardis back there. The timelines are too scrambled. I could have lost you both. Don't ever do that again.” The Doctor rambled, pulling the couple into a hug.
"What did we do? We fixed it. We solved the problem.” Rory asked.
“He was talking to himself.” I whispered, pushing The Doctor away, and pulling them into a hug.
The TARDIS still had a bit of fire extinguisher damage. Then, River appeared from behind it with a bucket of water and a rag.
“It could do with a repaint.” River smirked, starting to clean the outside.
“I've been busy.” The Doctor smiled, nodding over to me.
”Does the bulb on top need changing?” She asked, as I walked over to them both.
“I just changed it.” He insisted.
“Which means it will probably need changing again soon.” I joked, surprisingly earning a smile from River!
“So. Rory and Amy, then.” River smiled.
“Yes. I know, I know.”
“I'm just saying. They're going to get terribly bored hanging round here all day.”
“Doctor.” Rory called out, as if hearing out conversation.
“Ha!” The Doctor laughed, clicking his fingers at them.
“Look, next time, could we could just go to the pub?” Rory asked.
I want go to the pub right now. Are there video games there? I love video games.” The Doctor smiled, pushing me inside the TARDIS.
“Right. Family outing, then.” River smiled, as her and The Doctor followed me inside.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Amy, come and see this.”
“What?”
“There's a gravestone here for someone with the same name as me.”
“What?”
Rory vanishes. There was an Angel behind him.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Doctor!” Amy screamed, causing us all to freeze on the spot, before running out the TARIDS to see and Angel stood there.
“Where the hell did that come from?” I yelled, pointing to the Angel.
“It's a survivor. Very weak, but keep your eyes on it.” The Doctor explained, cautiously walking over to Amy.
“Where's Rory?” Amy asked.
I looked over to the left, only to see a gravestone with Rory's name on it and his death age.
“I'm sorry. Amelia, I'm so, so sorry.” I sighed, rubbing my forehead with my hand.
“No. No, we can just go and get him in the Tardis. One more paradox.” Amy insisted.
“Would rip New York apart.”
“No, that's not true. I don't believe you.” Amy cried, shaking her head.
“Mother, it's true.” River tried.
"Amy, what are you doing?” The Doctor asked, as Amy moved closer to the Weeping Angel.
“That gravestone, Rory's, there's room for one more name, isn't there?”
“What are you talking about? Back away from the Angel. Come back to the TARDIS. We'll figure something out.” The Doctor demanded.
“The Angel, would it send me back to the same time? To him?” Amy asked, still edging closer.
“We don't know. Nobody knows.” I yelled, concerned for what she was going to do.
“But it's my best shot, yeah?”
“No!” The Doctor shouted, shaking his head.
“Doctor, shut up. Yes. Yes, it is.” River exclaimed.
“Amy.”
“Well, then. I just have to blink, right?”
“No!” He tried, reaching his arm out to her.
“It'll be fine. I know it will. I'll be with him, like I should be. Me and Rory together. Melody?”
“Stop it. Just, just stop it!” Th Doctor exclaimed, looking at me and River panicked.
“You look after yourself. You be a good girl, and you take care. I'm going to miss you so much, and just remember me and your dad love you.” Amy cried, as River took her hand and kissed it.
“I love you too.” River replied.
“Madison?”
“Amy please. We can try and fix this another way.” I begged, standing beside her and taking her hand.
“We can't, and you know that. Don't worry, I'll have Rory. Just like you have The Doctor. Make sure you look after him and never leave him. I hope you two stay happy and I'm sorry I won't be there for the baby's birth.” Amy smiled, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze.
“Oh, Amelia Pond. You brilliant person. Go be with your Rory.” I whispered, kissing her cheek before walking back to stand by River.
“You are creating fixed time. I will never be able to see you again.” The Doctor stressed.
“I'll be fine. I'll be with him.”
“Amy, please, just come back into the TARDIS. Come along, Pond, please.” The Doctor begged, holding out his hand for her.
“Raggedy man, goodbye!” Amy cried, turning back to face us.
By turning to face us, Amy turned her back on the Angel, and soon vanished, only to leave the Angel. I looked over to Rory's gravestone, only to see it had gained the words: 'And His Loving Wife Amelia Williams aged 87.'
"No!” The Doctor yelled, placing a hand to his mouth as he cried.

TARDIS
We had retreated by to the TARDIS, with The Doctor sat on the steps with me wrapping my arm around him. River was still here, and was flying the TARDIS away from Manhattan.
“River, they were your parents. I'm sorry, I didn't think.”The Doctor suddenly spluttered, looking over to River.
“It doesn't matter.” River muttered.
“Of course it matters.” I sighed softly.
“What matters is this. Doctor, Maddy, don't travel alone. I mean without companions.”
“Travel with us, then.” I smiled, genuinely wanting her to come along.
“Thank you but, I don't think there is room for me here anymore.” She replied, a lot calmer towards me.
“Maddy's right, River. Come along with us.” The Doctor tried.
“Whenever and wherever you want. But not all the time. One psychopath per TARDIS, don't you think? Okay. This book I've got to write. Melody Malone. I presume I send it to Amy to get it published?” River asked, walking up the steps past us.
“Yes. Yes.”
“I'll tell her to write an afterword. For you. Maybe you'll listen to her.” River smiled, before disappearing away.
“The last page!” The Doctor exclaimed, jumping up. “Right.. umm, Maddy just stay here.”
"Wait, what? Why?” I asked, getting up from the steps.
“Just do it, Madison!” He yelled, harshly, before running out the TARDIS.
“Oh.. Okay..” I muttered, my hand covering my bump. “I know you're still here River.”
“How did you know that?” She asked, stepping out from behind the wall at the top of the stairs.
“Dunno, just did. I get the feeling you want to know something.” I smiled, as she walked to be face-to-face with me.
“Oh, you're good at this. Why?”
“Why, what?”
“You asked me to travel with you, and you meant it. You weren't just doing it to comfort The Doctor either. Also, I tried to kill you and supposedly ruined The Doctor's life, a little while back. So, why on Earth would you want me around?” River explained.
“Because who else have you got? Like, seriously. You've just lost your parents, River, and I took away your husband. Are you just going to stay in Storm Cage forever?”
“I'm not even suppose to be in Storm Cage.” She joked, causing me to laugh.
“Yeah, sorry about that! I'll make a few calls, and get you out.” I smiled.
“Are you happy, Madison. With The Doctor.” She suddenly asked.
“Yes. I honestly am. I am so sorry, River. If I had knew he was married, I never would have let things get so far. I truly believed he was single.”
“Rule one. The Doctor lies.” She whispered.
“We'd know that better than anyone.”
“True... Well.. I'd better be off... Storm Cage rules and all... I might see you round some when, or not.. whatever really..”
“I still mean it, River. Travel with us. Amy and Rory would have wanted you too.” I announced, as she started to walk off.
“I know they would. But who ever listens to their parents? Goodbye, Madison.” She smirked, before turning away again.
“I don't blame you! River. I don't blame you for shooting me and anything you did! It was all my fault, and I honestly am so so sorry for everything I've done to you. You didn't ruin mine or The Doctor's life at all. I ruined yours. Please, don't leave The Doctor's life forever. He needs you. We need you.” I cried, letting a tear slip from my eye.
“It wasn't you fault. It was mine. I'm... I'm sorry for trying to kill you. It was s step to far. And hey, who says I'm leaving forever.” She smiled, walking back over to me.
“You're a brilliant person, River. Try to stay out of trouble.” I replied, pulling her into a hug. Surprisingly, she hugged back.
“Will do. Can't promise anything, though. I'll see you both round, some when in the future. Have a... a good.. baby? I don't know, just have a good life, Madison.” She smiled, placing a hand over her vortex manipulator.
“You too. Goodbye, River.” I smiled, as she teleported off.
I smiled to myself, and wiped away my stray tear, before slumping down onto the console seat. The TARDIS made subtle humming noises in the background, trying to calm me down from the tears and the loss of the Ponds.
A large bang snapped me from my thoughts, as I turned to see The Doctor had pushed the doors open. I quickly jumped up and waited by the console, as he walked up to me. Once he reached me, I saw he had been crying again, as we just stared at one another. Simultaneously, we both reached out and pulled each other into a tight, loving hug. After quite some time, The Doctor pulled away and sat on one of the seats with me.
“Amy... Amy left an afterword.. like River said.. said she would get her too. Here, read it if you want.” He stuttered, pulling a piece of a paper from his pocket and shoving it into my hands.
"Afterword, by Amelia Williams. Hello, old friends. And here we are, you and us, on the last page. By the time you read these words, Rory and I will be long gone. So know that we lived well, and were very happy. And above all else, know that we will love you both always. Sometimes I do worry about you, though. I think once we're gone, you won't be coming back here for a while, and you might be alone, which you should never be. Don't be alone, Doctor, Madison. Get new friends for the baby. And do one more thing for me. There's a little girl waiting in a garden. She's going to wait a long while, so she's going to need a lot of hope. Go to her. Tell her a story. Tell her that if she's patient, the days are coming that she'll never forget. Tell her she'll go to sea and fight pirates. She'll fall in love with a man who'll wait two thousand years to keep her safe. Tell her she'll give hope to the greatest painter who ever lived and save a whale in outer space. Tell her this is the story of Amelia Pond. And this is how it ends.”
“Oh god. At least they lived well.” I sighed, blinking away the tears.
“Yeah... That's one thing.”
“We'll be okay, Doctor. I know we will.” I tried, placing a hand on his arm.
“Do you, though? They were my best friends, Maddy, and I promised them I'd look after them! I told Rory's dad I'd bring them back safe. I've done it again! Got the people closest to me killed!” He ranted in anger, pushing my arm away.
“Doctor, calm down. It's going to be alright.”
“IT'S NOT, THOUGH, IS IT!” He shouted, hitting his hand against the console.
“I don't know, but getting angry is not going to help! Just, stop it!” I stated, trying to stay calm.
“I keep losing everything. I even lost you before. Why can't they come back as well?” He asked, walking towards the stairs.
“Because it's not the same. Where are you going?”
“I don't know. Wherever I end up. I need to be alone.” He sighed, walking up them.
“Being alone, is not the answer. Doctor, pl..... wait....AHHHH!” I screamed, placing a hand to my stomach, as a shooting pain took over.
"Madison? What is it? What's wrong?” The Doctor asked, freezing on the spot at the top of the steps.
“I don't... don't know.. Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow! Oh my god, Doctor.” I cried, doubling over in pain.
“Okay, okay. First things first, sit and calm down. It's going to be okay. Where does it hurt?” He rushed, running to my side and walking me to the seat.
“EVERYWHERE! Ahhh, Doctor, do some.... Oh dear god.”
“What? What? What is it?”
“My water's have just broke.” I said, watching the terror cover The Doctor's face.
“Oh god.”
“Couldn't have put it better myself. OW! This is hurting really bad!”
“Maddy, you're going into labor. It's going to hurt.” He stated, pulling me onto the floor.
“Doctor, I'm one month early. I can't go into labor. You know I can't.”
“I know, I know. But the stress of everything must have brought this on early.” He explained, quickly pulling off my jeans and underwear.
“I have to be done on my due date. Time Lords can't have their children early, because the child isn't developed properly.”
“Madison, just calm down.” He commanded.
“Calm down? CALM DOWN?! Doctor, you know this isn't going to happen! If Time Lord have their babies early.. they.... they...” I shouted, breathing heavily.
“Don't say it.”
“They miscarriage.” I whispered, beginning to cry.
“Madison Brown, I need you to be really brave for me. Please, just stay calm and breath. Just hold my hand and be brave.” He stated, looking like he wanted to cry too.
“Doctor. I'm scared. I hardly ever get scared, you know that. Please, just do something. Doctor, don't leave me. Please.” I begged.
“Madison, I am never going to leave you. I promise. We are married and in this together. I love you so much, and this baby is just going to make life better than it already is, and I never thought that was possible with you. We can do this. I just need you to trust me. You trust me, right?” He rambled, clutching my hand in his.
“With my life. Just save our baby.”
“I will. Just hold my hand and breath. You can do this. We'll do this together. Like we always have and always will. I need you to push. Please, Maddy, just push now.”
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” I screamed at the pain.
“That's it, sweetheart! You can do this.”
“AHHHHHHHHHHH! So. Much. Pain.” I spat, through gritted teeth.
“Just push. It can't hurt that much.
“Oh yeah. I'm just screaming for the fun of it! How about I shove a bowling ball inside you, and you try and push it out. They say it can't hurt much again!” I yelled, smacking his arm.
“Alright, calm it. Just keep pushing now.”
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Just hurry up!”
“Almost there....And..... DONE! You've done it! Oh my god, it's a baby. You gave birth to our baby, and I delivered it. Dear god, I'm going to cry. She's beautiful. She's takes after her mother. Oh, it's a girl, by the way. And she's amazing.” The Doctor cried, taking off his jacket and wrapping our baby inside.
“Oh thank god. Is she okay? Is everything alright? Why is she not crying? Doctor..... Doctor, why are you looking like that? Doctor, what's wrong? Doctor!” I shouted, as The Doctor froze on the spot.
“Oh, Madison. It was going to be perfect.” He muttered.
“What is it? What's wrong with our daughter? Doctor, please! Tell me!” I begged, dreading the answer.
“Madison, I am sorry. I am so, so sorry.”
