Chapter 7 – A New Team

Madison's P.O.V.

3 Months later...

“You love me. You have since you first met us. And you hated it. You hated loving me. Now you love it so much, you can't help but show everyone! Even when my wife is here, you can't just sit around and pretend like nothing is happening! I don't love you Madison! I love River!”

“Doctor! Don't say that! I love you!” I cried.

“No, Madison. I'm with River. Leave me and never return!”

“Please, Doctor! I'm sorry!” I begged.

“Oh get the hint, Madison! The Doctor doesn't love you. He loves me. Just leave, Maddy. It's all over for you! Forever alone, Madison Brown. Must suck to be you.” River taunted, putting an arm round the Doctor.

“Doctor. River. Please, don't do this! I didn't want this to happen!”

“Just give it up, Madison. It's all over! Over. Over. Over.” River laughed.

Her words rung in my ears. Over. Suddenly she lunged forward and pulled a gun out. She shot me quickly in both my hearts, before walking back to The Doctor. I fell to the floor, clutching my chest, while they both just stood there.

Laughing at me.

“Doctor. Ple...please.” I sobbed.

“Oh poor little, Madison. Get shot by River? Good. You're suppose to be dead, Maddy. You can't even do that right, can you? Just die already. I don't love you. And now you're stuck in another world, I can be with River. Forever. Say goodnight, Madison.” The Doctor spat, as he took River's gun from her and pointed it at me.

“No! Don't. I'm sorry. I love you!” I cried, curling up in a ball on the floor.

“Oh, I know. But I can't say the same. See ya, Maddy!” Him and River laughed, as he aimed the gun for my head.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” I screamed.

“MADISON! Wake up!”

“What?! Doctor? What happened? Where are you?” I sobbed.

“I'm here, Maddy. It's okay. It was only a dream. It was just a dream.” The Doctor said, wrapping his arms around me.

“It wasn't a dream. It was real. I felt it.”

“It wasn't real, Maddy. It was just another bad dream. You keep getting them and I don't know why. It was just a dream. Okay?”

“Yeah. Just a dream.” I muttered.

Explanation?

It's been three months since I arrived here. Three months with this Doctor. Soon after I arrived, The Doctor and me brought a flat together. He said he couldn't go back to living in his old one without Rose. So we brought a two bedroomed flat, in London.

A week after I met The Doctor, it was the Tyler family funeral. I helped The Doctor plan it all. I couldn't bare him to do it all on his own. From what I know about The Doctor, he's strong and fearless on the outside. But on the inside, he was just like any other human. I attended the funeral with him. I got a few strange and dirty looks from family members because I was with The Doctor, but I just shrugged it off. They had a joint funeral. They were all buried together. It was a beautiful ceremony, I just wish I didn't have to see The Doctor so upset.

He cried. So, so much. I'd never seen The Doctor like this. Well, not since I died.

Speaking of me. We haven't found a way of getting me back yet. We don't even know how I got here yet. I just remember dying, then suddenly being moved around. Then a white flash appeared and I opened my eyes to see I was surrounded by U.N.I.T. members. Next thing I knew, I was lying on a beach. Finding The Doctor.

Me and The Doctor have a pretty good life here. We became really close friends since we moved in together. We're not together as a couple, of course. We're more like brother and sister most the time! We're both there for one another in anyway possible.

We've formed a team too. Since Torchwood blew up, The Doctor was out of a job. So, we became the new alien catchers on the block. We sorted any alien issues before anyone in the world could say “Oh look! An alien!”. Everything was going great!

Except for the last week. I've began to start getting these nightmares. They always start and finish in the same way. They always start with The Doctor telling me he didn't love me, like a flashback to when I first met River. Then somehow, I always ended up dead. Either The Doctor or River would kill me. I knew they were just dreams but they always felt so real.

“Are you sure you're okay?”

“I'm fine, Doctor. Stop worrying. It was just a nightmare.” I sighed, pulling myself out from our hug.

“You keep getting these nightmares recently. It's not okay. What was it about this time?” He asked.

“I really can't remember. Sorry.” I lied, looking down at my bed sheets.

“Funny how you never remember them. You can't lie to me, Maddy. Tell me.” He replied, raising an eyebrow.

“Doctor, I...” I began to say, before I was cut off by a beeping.

“Eurgh. Just one morning without aliens would be nice! Oh, and don't think you've got out of this. We're speaking about this later.” The Doctor groaned, jumping from my bed and heading for the door.

“If we get back later.” I laughed, earning a look from him.

“We will. Even if we're about to die, we can run and talk. I'm finding out what these dreams are, Maddy. Even if it kills me.” He warned, as he slipped out from my room.

“It's not you it kills.” I muttered, sliding out from my bed.

I trudged over to my wardrobe and picked out a simple outfit. Black leggings, a loose purple t-shirt, my large equipment holding belt, a denim jacket and a pair of black pumps. I quickly pulled it all on, before heading to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, applied some make-up before heading out the bathroom and meeting The Doctor down in the kitchen.

“She finally moves!” The Doctor exclaimed, causing me to roll my eyes.

“Oh be quiet. Found out what going on?” I asked, pulling out a cereal bar from the cupboards.

“Yup. Fleet of Cybermen in the London underground. Draining it's power and using it somehow. Fancy I trip?” He smirked, reading it off of our laptop.

“Oh. Don't mind if I do!” I replied, sarcastically.

“Come on then.” He muttered, closing down the laptop and placing it in his bag.

I walked over to the cupboard under the sink to reveal all our equipment. I pulled out our two vortex manipulators and a first aid kit. I scanned over the guns and pulled out two and placed them in my belt.

“Doctor? How many guns do you want?” I asked, turning to see him stood there shirtless.

“Huh, what?”

“Guns....How...How many?” I asked, as my eyes lingered over his body.

“Just the one. Maddy?”

“Yeah....”

“Take a picture. It'll last longer!” He laughed, before running off somewhere.

An instant wave of sadness took over me, as I replay his words in my head. 'Take a picture. It'll last longer.' It's what I said to The real Doctor on our first date. We even got a picture on my phone, but I was stupid enough to leave my phone in the TARDIS! Another thing to remind me of The Doctor....

“Maddy, are you....Madison? What's wrong?” The Doctor asked, rushing over to me.

“What? Nothing. Why?”

“You're crying.”

“Am I? Oh, so I am. Anyway, what did you want.” I asked, quickly wiping away the tear.

“I was asking if you were ready.”

“Oh yeah, I'm done. Here's your gun.” I mumbled, passing it to him.

“Cheers. Come on then, lets go save the world again!” He laughed, pulling me from the floor.

7 Minutes later...

“YOU ARE AN ENEMY! YOU WILL BE.....”

“SHUT IT, ALIEN BITCHES! FEEL THE WRATH OF A TIME LORD!” I yelled, shooting down another 16 Cybermen.

“MADDY!”

“Doctor! You alright?” I shouted, running towards his voice.

“Yeah, might need some back up!”

“Why? What's happening?” I asked, stopping next to him.

“There's a train heading towards this platform. Now since everybody within 10 miles of any London Underground, I get the feeling we are going to get some more Cybermen visitors. Your gun still okay?” He explained, looking over his laptop.

“Yeah, hows yours?”

“Broken. I had to kick down the last few Cybermen. You got a spare one?”

“Yeah, take it. How long until they get here?” I asked, handing over my spare gun.

“About a minute. Get ready.”

“Oh joy. Right, in case we don't make this. I need to say something.”

“What is it?” He asked, jumping up into position.

“You're brilliant and I'm so glad I met you.” I smiled.

“Same to you.” He replied, placing a quick kiss to my forehead.

We dumped all our unneeded equipment behind us, before taking a stand by the train line. I reloaded my gun, as did The Doctor, and pointed it towards the tunnel close by. The sound of a train approaching took over, as it quickly pulled into the station. The doors slid open and 100+ Cybermen stood looking out as us.

“You have now arrived at Death Row Station. Please mind the gap and prepare to die.” I said, mocking the usual overvoice system.

“YOU ARE NOT CYBERMEN. YOU WILL BE DELETED!” A Cyberman screeched, as they all lifted their arms and pointed them at us.

“Yeah? WELL SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!” I yelled, as I began to shoot down Cybermen.

I saw as The Doctor went into full action mode, at the same time as me. I spun and ran around, ducking Cybermen death lasers as I shot down several Cybermen. I ducked under two of them, causing them to shoot one another. Soon there were only around 20 Cybermen left, which we soon took care of.

“And for the full house!” I laughed, shooting down the last Cyberman.

“We did it. They're all gone.” The Doctor breathed, with a slight smile.

“Oh my god. I can't believe it.”

“We win! Maddy, we won!” The Doctor cheered, as he picked me up and spun me round in hug.

“Yeah, great.” I replied, not joining in his hug.

“Madison, what's wrong? We beat them. We won.” He asked, dropping me to the floor.

“Did we? Or did we just kill hundreds of innocent people?”

“The Cybermen killed them a long time ago. There was nothing we could do. We didn't kill them. If anything, we saved them.” He explained, pulling me into a hug.

“I suppose so.” I sighed.

“I know so. Come on, we should be getting out of here.”

“Yeah. I'll grab the stuff, you walk on.” I smiled, pulling away from him and jogging over to our stuff.

I started to pack everything away into our cases, as I watched The Doctor walk ahead slightly. He turned the corner, just as I got everything packed.

That's when it happened.

“DELETE!”

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

“Doctor? Doctor, what happened? Doc...OH MY GOD, DOCTOR!” I screamed, as I dropped the equipment and ran over towards The Doctor.

Who was lead motionless on the floor. Next to a Cyberman, which has it's gun pointed towards The Doctor.
