07:12, 7 July 2024Jules woke up sore and angry the next day, unable to share her mother's happiness on a morning that was 'this beautiful' in Victoria's words. Jules got up and got dressed having nothing really to do today but had to get up.
She threw on some clothes and hurried downstairs, her mother stood in the kitchen making breakfast. The smell of bacon filled the kitchen as Jules entered.
"Oh Julie you're awake." Victoria smiled at her daughter. "I made some pancakes as well as bacon and eggs."
"Thanks mom." Jules smiled and slid into one of the seats as Victoria placed the plates in front of her
Her eyes ran over Jules, Victoria's eyes landed on her hand specifically her bruised knuckles. She slowly moved her hand and picked up her daughter's hand.
"Julie." She asked and Jules gulped. "What happened."
Jules smiled and thought of an excuse, "I was walking to the convenient store last night and fell. Don't worry mom."
Victoria searched Julie's face trying to find any bit of doubt but finally she sighed and replied. "Okay, as long as you're okay."
Victoria turned and walked into the living room leaving Jules alone to eat. She sat at the table playing with her food thinking about last night, both about the guy and the kid. The man seemed so familiar, like Jules knew him. The way he fought seemed so familiar and like he was a professional but she was sure she had never seen him before.
Her mind went to the boy she had saved, Miguel was his name. He seemed like a nice kid, Jules also felt back for leaving him but she didn't need to be caught in a fight. Once she was done with her food Jules walked into the living room but she stopped at the photos. Right next to the news clip about her mother winning was another newspaper. This one read:
"New dojo defeats two time All-Valley Champion Johnny Lawerence"
Johnny Lawerence, Jules had heard a lot about how bad the guy was. All Jules could think about was how the man from last night reminded her of Johnny Lawerence, from their appearance to skills and even attitude.
"Mom." Jules called
"Yeah darling?" Victoria called back
"Who's Johnny Lawerence?" Jules asked and turned around seeing her mother sitting on the couch. Victoria's face went white as her jaw clenched
Jules knew she asked the wrong question, but she was curious and her mother should've been happy that Jules was asking about her Golden Days. Victoria got of the couch and walked up to Jules, she cupped her cheeks.
"Johnny Lawerence was a bad man, he tried to kill me. Don't ask about him again." She hissed
"Sorry mom." Jules mumbled under her breath
Victoria let out a sigh. "It's okay sweetheart but that was in the past, you don't have to worry about him or what I had to go through during high school."
Jules rolled her eyes and started before her mother could. "I know mom, Daniel moved in, Cobra Kai almost killed you, you saved Daniel twice, Mr Miyagi started to train you, then Daniel won the karate tournament."
Victoria smiled, "so enjoy the peace and please don't fight."
"I'll try not to mom." Jule replied under her breath, her mother leaned forward and pressed a kiss against the girl's head. "Good."

"I'm going to school mom!" Jules called as she hurried downstairs
Victoria rushed into the living room, looking all dressed up. She wore a gray suit with a black tie, Victoria ran as best as she could in heels up to Jules.
"Before you go, you have to eat." Victoria told her daughter but Jules just shrugged. "I'll get something at school."
"No, here at least eat some toast." Victoria said and held up some toast, Jules rolled her eyes and laughed before opening her mouth and biting into the bread
"Happy mom?" She asked through a mouthful and her mother nodded. "I am now, have a good day sweetie. I love you."
Jules turned around just as the TV changed, it was now playing an ad. The girl rolled her eyes as the ad played.
"Banzai!" Daniel said from the TV. "Daniel LaRusso here from LaRusso Auto, bringing you specials on all of our inventory."
Jules hurried to the door, throwing on her shoes and grabbing her backpack. She rushed out of the door before she could listen to anymore of the stupid commercial. She couldn't get away from her mother's past, even Daniel haunted Jules always reminding her when Victoria wasn't. All Jules wanted was to forget and live her own life.
Both Jules and Victoria saw it, the sign hanging on the old mall. Victoria saw it first as she headed toward her work, her mind flooded with memories as she stared at the huge sign that read Cobra Kai. She sped down the street and passed by her building, Victoria didn't care if she was late, she needed to talk to Daniel.
She parked the car and rushed in, her heels clicked against the floor as Amanda met her halfway. She saw the woman's distress.
"Victoria, what's going on?" She asked and Victoria replied quickly needing to see Daniel. "Is Daniel here?"
Amanda nodded, "yeah he's in his office, are you okay?"
"Yeah I just need to talk to him." Victoria replied and hurried past the woman and towards Daniel's office
She didn't even knock on the door, she just walked in. Daniel sat at his desk, about to call Victoria and tell her about the sign. He was livid and so was Victoria.
"You saw it right?" Victoria started the conversation and Daniel nodded. "Yeah, I did."
"I'm so angry, I thought we got rid of it." Daniel hissed as if it was some secret
Victoria let out a sigh as she whispered. "Do you think they're still alive?"
Daniel shrugged, "there's only one person it could be."

Jules passed by it with a smile, a laugh, and a idea. School was the same, Jules walked through the halls and stared down at the ground trying not to make enemies with anyone. She trudged her way through the first couple of classes before everyone headed toward cafeteria.
Jules joined the line to grab food, grabbing her plate and turning to go to her table when she saw someone. It was the boy who she had saved, his eyes lit up and he moved to her.
"Hey it's you." He said smiling
Jules rolled her eyes, "yes I'm Julie Barron-Monroe, yes my mother is Victoria Barron, No she won't teach you karate, yes I do know she's cool."
He looked confused as if he wasn't going to ask those questions. "What no, I wasn't going to ask about your mother. I want to be friends."
"Yeah sure you do." Jules answered sarcastically and walked up to her table
Miguel sighed and walked away and up to another table, Jules sat there and assessed her surroundings. She saw Aisha sitting by herself looking all sad, her eyes looked over and saw the popular girls where Sam was sitting them over by the vending machine were Kyler and his group.
Jules watched as Miguel stood up, his eyes locked on the popular girl's table but she let out a laugh. It wasn't going to work, she watched as he started walking up to them before Kyler and his group destroyed all hope Miguel had.
"See you later 'Rhea!" Brucks called after Miguel
Jules felt sorry for him but he chose to get up.

Victoria threw open the door, scaring Jules who was standing in the kitchen. The girl watched as her mom rushed up the stairs, she had never seen her mother act like this.
She shrugged before hearing her mother coming down the stairs wearing casual clothing. Victoria rushed to put her shoes on calling to the girl in the kitchen.
"Julie, there's some money on the fridge for Pizza. I'm going out." Victoria called
"Going out? Where?" Jules asked
"With Daniel." Jules was confused, her mother didn't go out this late usually and with Daniel but she just nodded
Victoria went to open the door but stopped and turned back around calling it her daughter in a stern tone. "Julie, I know you saw the sign and promise me you won't go near that dojo."
Jules turned to face her mother as her hand slipped behind her back. She felt bad for a second but Jules had a plan and it included that Dojo. "I promise mom."

Ding, the door open and Daniel walked in followed by Victoria. She gulped as more memories rushed to her head, this place still gave her nightmares and she felt like Daniel was learning how to drive again with that pit in her stomach.
The 'Strike First, Strike Hard, No Mercy' sign made Victoria want to puke. Her head turned to the office as a man walked out.
"Welcome to Cobra Kai-" he stopped when he saw Daniel and his heart stopped when he looked over and saw Victoria
He looked as raggedy as ever, even this place looked the same.
"Some things never change." Daniel called to Johnny
"Yeah, what are you talking about?" Johnny asked and Daniel explained. "I heard you beat up a bunch of teenagers in that parking lot out there."
"Oh that." Johnny said and Victoria clenched her hands as if it wasn't a big deal. "No, I didn't beat up any teenagers."
He took a few steps closer to the two as he added. "I kicked the shit out of a bunch of assholes who deserved it."
Victoria scoffed and looked at Daniel, "you hear that, Johnny Lawerence calling someone else an asshole."
Daniel became more annoyed, he never could take the blame could he. "That's rich man."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"We're not here to rehash the past Johnny." Victoria added trying to calm things down, Daniel growled at him. "Stay away from my daughter's friends."
"Your daughter's friends." He smiled. "Yeah, that makes sense. Nice company she keeps."
Daniel stepped forward barking at the bully. "What the hell is that supposed to mean."
Victoria pressed her hand against Daniel chest, telling him to calm down. He nodded and tried to calm his composure.
"It means those friends of hers were wailing on a kid half their size." Johnny answered. "Maybe you don't know your daughter as well as you think you do. Get your house in order LaRusso."
That set Daniel off as he started closer to Johnny, Victoria chased after him calling to Daniel. "Daniel, he's not worth it."
"Who the hell you think you're talking to?" Daniel was cut off by another voice, a younger one who came from the back. "Bathroom's clean."
Victoria gasped as a teen walked out into the dojo asking if he needed to do anything else but there was one word that rang through Victoria's head.
"Sensei." The kid said to Johnny
Sensei? He was actually trying to restart Cobra Kai. Oh not on their watch, Victoria wasn't going to let Johnny have his way.
"Sensei?" Victoria asked. "Really."
Daniel turned to the kid. "Oh my god, kid. I don't know what he's told you, but you shouldn't believe a word he says, or else you're gonna end up exactly like him."
"He's a liar and he's a danger to himself and other people." Victoria hissed
"You and us." She added pointing between them and Johnny before Daniel joined in the last part. "This...we aren't done."
"Let's go Daniel." Victoria said turning around, she wanted to get out of here as soon as possible
"I'm right here man!" Johnny called
Daniel stopped but Victoria begged him to continue walking and that Johnny wasn't worth it. Daniel nodded and continued out the door, they got into Daniel's car. The lights turned on glaring through the window, the three stared at each other before Daniel drove off. He was right, this whole situation wasn't over.
